[0020] The invention also relates to a framework for a protective installation, comprising several posts, a corner piece fixed to the top of each post, each corner piece being intended to support two profiles of an upper frame, each corner piece being as defined above. Brief description of the figures

[0021] Other characteristics and advantages will appear in the detailed description which follows, given with reference to the attached drawings in which: There figure 1 schematically represents a pergola-type installation; The figure 2 represents the corner piece in accordance with the invention; The figure 3represents the corner piece in accordance with the invention, positioned on its receiving post and intended to receive a profile of the upper frame; Detailed description of at least one embodiment

[0022] The invention lies in the field of frames used in pergola-type installations or equivalents.

[0023] As illustrated by the figure 1, such a frame generally comprises two or four posts 1 and a rectangular upper frame 2. The upper frame 2 can be supported at its four corners by four posts or be supported at two corners on the same side by two posts and attached to a wall at its opposite side. To make the junction between each post and the frame, the frame comprises a corner piece 3. The corner piece 3 is intended to be fixed on a post 1 located below, and to support two profiles 20 of the frame and make the junction at right angles between these two profiles. The upper frame can support a roll-up canvas 21 or adjustable slats intended to provide protection, in particular against the sun.

[0024] For the remainder of the description, a so-called longitudinal direction (A) is defined which is parallel to the axis of the post 1 on which the corner piece 3 is fixed. The frame 2 of the framework is thus oriented in a transverse plane relative to said longitudinal direction (A).

[0025] The terms "upper", "lower", "above", "below" or equivalent are to be understood with reference to this longitudinal direction (A), oriented vertically.

[0026] The terms "internal", "external", "interior", "exterior" are to be considered in reference to the internal area delimited by the frame of the pergola.

[0027] Along this longitudinal direction (A), an upper part and a lower part are defined on the corner piece 3.

[0028] In reference to the figure 2 and to the figure 3 , the corner piece 3 of the invention is advantageously produced in a single-piece form.

[0029] It is advantageously made of metallic material, for example steel or aluminum.

[0030] The corner piece 3 can be manufactured, for example, by sheet metal bending and welding operations.

[0031] The corner piece 3 comprises an angle iron formed by two longitudinal flanks 30, 31 assembled at right angles. The two longitudinal flanks 30, 31 of the angle iron are oriented towards the inside of the frame and the right angle made between these two flanks 30, 31 thus forms the external right angle of the frame.

[0032] The angle iron has two free edges folded perpendicularly inwards, so as to form two longitudinal fins 300, 310. Each longitudinal fin 300, 310 is intended to receive as support one end of a profile 20 separate from the upper frame 2 of the framework and to allow this profile 20 to be fixed to the corner piece.

[0033] By its two longitudinal sides 30, 31 and its two longitudinal fins 300, 310, the angle iron delimits a concavity 32.

[0034] Corner piece 3 also has means of mechanical reinforcement of the angle iron.

[0035] The corner piece 3 thus comprises a first reinforcement formed by a right-angled element 33, arranged transversely inside said concavity 32.

[0036] This first reinforcement is advantageously inserted in the transverse plane of the upper edge of the angle iron.

[0037] The right-angled element 33 comprises a first branch extending lengthwise, perpendicular to the first fin 300 and in the extension of the upper edge of this first fin 300 along the upper edge of the first longitudinal flank 30.

[0038] The right-angled element 33 comprises a second branch extending lengthwise, perpendicular to the second fin 310 in the extension of the upper edge of this second fin 310, along the upper edge of the second longitudinal flank 31.

[0039] The two branches of the right-angled element 33 meet at a right angle at the right angle of the angle iron.

[0040] The corner piece 3 has a second reinforcement formed from a rectangular reinforcement plate 34, advantageously square.

[0041] This second reinforcement is inserted into the concavity 32 in the transverse plane of the lower edge of the angle iron.

[0042] According to a particular aspect, the corner piece 3 may have various assembly and fixing means to both fix itself to the receiving post 1 and support, on either side, two profiles 20 of the upper frame 2 of the framework.

[0043] Each longitudinal fin 300, 310 has a first face called internal oriented towards the inside of the concavity 32 and an opposite face called external.

[0044] On the external face of each longitudinal fin 300, 310, the assembly means may comprise at least one assembly element 301a, 301b, 311a, 311b of the male type, extending in a direction perpendicular to the plane formed by the external face of said fin. In a non-limiting manner, each fin carries two assembly elements 301a, 301b, 311a, 311b of the male type as shown in the figure 2 . These two elements are each intended to mechanically couple with a corresponding female part of a profile 20 of the upper frame 2 (see figure 3 ). They allow for temporary assembly of the upper frame on the posts, before final fixing. These elements can be welded onto the fins.

[0045] In a non-limiting manner, each assembly element 301a, 301b, 311a, 311b of male type (tenon) is in the form of a profile, for example with a U-shaped cross-section. The two assembly elements (301a, 301b for the fin 300 and 311a, 331b for the fin 310) of the same fin may have a different U-shaped section, the lower element 301a, 311a having a wider section compared to that of the upper element 311a, 311b. This solution makes it possible to carry out a keying during the assembly of the profile 20. Furthermore, on the same fin, the two elements can have a different length (in the assembly direction of the profile 20), the lower element (301a, 311a) being for example shorter than the upper element (301b, 311b), thus facilitating the assembly. The installer can proceed in two stages by first ensuring guidance of the profile on the longer element and then indexing the profile on the shorter element.

[0046] It may also be noted that the construction of the corner piece and the orientation of its assembly elements means that the two profiles 20 of the upper frame 2 are each assembled on the corner piece so that their external face is located in the extension and flush with the external face of a longitudinal flank 30, 31 distinct from the corner piece.

[0047] Each longitudinal fin 300, 310 is pierced with one or more so-called fixing openings 302, 312 to each form a passage for engaging a fixing screw 4. Each fixing screw 4 is intended to be screwed into the profile 20 of the upper frame 2, this profile being applied by one end against the plane formed by the external face of the longitudinal fin 300, 310.

[0048] Opposite each fin, the parallel longitudinal flank 30, 31 of the angle iron has, for each fixing opening, a corresponding opening 303, 313 located in the same axis and intended for the passage of a tool such as a screwdriver or a wrench.

[0049] Each longitudinal fin 300, 310 may also have an opening 304, 314, for example of oblong shape, intended for the passage of electrical cables through the frame.

[0050] To be fixed to the post 1, the corner piece 3 also comprises several fixing openings 340 arranged axially through the reinforcement plate 34. In a non-limiting manner, four fixing openings can be made, positioned at the four corners of the plate 34. These openings 340 are each intended to receive a fixing screw 5 which engages in a thread made on the post 1.

[0051] Opposite the three fixing openings of the corner piece which are not axially accessible, three tool passage openings 330 are made through the right-angle element 33 located in the upper part of the corner piece.

[0052] Advantageously, the rectangular reinforcement plate 34 may be provided with a central opening 341, for example of circular shape, intended to allow water to flow towards the inside of the post 1 located below.

[0053] Advantageously, the corner piece 3 can be provided with a grid 35 made of two right-angled parts standing along the two sides of the reinforcing plate 34, opposite the two longitudinal sides 30, 31.

[0054] The grid 35 is intended to filter the water flowing towards the inside of the post 1 via the dedicated opening 341. The grid 35 may have fixing openings 350 for the passage of screws for fixing the profile 20 of the upper frame 2.

[0055] The corner piece 3 according to the invention thus has several advantages listed below: It is easy to install on a post and facilitates the installation of the upper frame; It has a robust construction, while having a limited weight; It allows access to the fixing screws; It integrates different functionalities such as rainwater filtering, passage of electrical cables, etc.
