Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a labeling arrangement for a multi-part container, which can provide a reliable first-opening indicator in a simple and cost-effective manner and contribute to reliable tamper protection for the container. The invention also relates to the use of such a labeling arrangement for a multi-part container and to a system comprising such a labeling arrangement. The invention further relates to a method for attaching such a labeling arrangement to a multi-part container.
[0002] Labeling arrangements typically include a label that can serve for authorization, authentication, or proof of origin. For example, a labeling arrangement is used when it is necessary to protect ingredients against unauthorized access and to indicate if the corresponding container has been opened. This applies particularly to containers in the pharmaceutical and medical fields, whose contents must be protected against tampering.
[0003] Document EP 0 627 361 A1 discloses a closure arrangement for a bottle with a sleeve-shaped cap element, which, with respect to a longitudinal axis, has a first cap part and a second cap part and a dividing line. The first cap part, together with a closure, is removable from the second cap part and the bottle body.
[0004] The invention aims to achieve a simple and cost-effective way to provide reliable identification and secure protection for a multi-part container.
[0005] The problem is solved by the features of the independent patent claims. Advantageous further developments are specified in the respective dependent claims.
[0006] According to the invention, a labeling arrangement for a multi-part container comprises a sleeve-shaped cap element having a toothed structure on an inner surface and configured to be coupled to and surround an outer surface of a closure of the container by means of the toothed structure. The cap element has, with respect to a longitudinal axis, a first cap part, a second cap part, and a separation area.
[0007] The labeling arrangement further comprises a fixing label with a first label section and a second label section adjacent to the first label section. The first label section is designed to be attached to the second cap part, and the second label section is designed to be attached to a part of the container body, such that the fixing label couples the cap element to the container body. The labeling arrangement is thus configured so that, when the container to which the labeling arrangement is applied is opened, the cap element can be separated in the separation area, and at least a section of the first cap part, together with a part of the closure, can be removed from the second cap part and the container body.
[0008] The described labeling system enables, among other things, a reliable and cost-effective sealing solution for syringes. This system allows for the secure sealing of primary packaging or containers in the pharmaceutical sector, such as syringes, injection vials, or flasks, thereby guaranteeing or indicating the integrity of the medication packaging. The labeling system prevents the unintentional reuse of a labeled primary package after use and clearly and reliably indicates that the primary packaging has been opened. Thus, the labeling system also counteracts tampering with the primary packaging and provides proof of tampering. The tamper protection provided by the labeling system is particularly suitable for syringes equipped with a Luer-lock closure.
[0009] According to a preferred embodiment of the labeling arrangement, the second cap part, relative to the state of the labeling arrangement applied to the vessel, is arranged adjacent to the vessel body and geometrically designed to match the vessel body, exhibiting a predetermined circumferential geometry. Such a circumferential geometry can be oval, angular, or round. In particular, the cap element can be rotationally symmetrical about the longitudinal axis relative to the vessel, such that at least the second cap part has a predetermined diameter corresponding to the diameter of the vessel body, and an outer surface of the second cap part can be arranged flush with an outer surface of the vessel body.
[0010] The cap element, for example, forms a sleeve open upwards with respect to its longitudinal axis, which is designed to be closable, particularly in conjunction with a designated lid element. When the vessel is opened, the cap element or the first part of the cap is pressed against an outer surface of the closure and separated from the second part of the cap by pulling and / or twisting, and removed from the vessel body along with part of the closure. Furthermore, the cap element can be designed such that a narrow gap or space exists between the cap element and the closure located within it. Manipulation or an attempt to open the vessel by reaching into this narrow space from above is therefore impossible or only possible under difficult conditions. Preferably, the cap element is designed so that it at least partially contacts an outer surface of the closure.
[0011] In this description, terms like "top" and "bottom" refer to the operational arrangement and application of the labeling system and the container. This also applies to terms like "head" and "body," with the head generally being located at the top and the body usually at the bottom. The container's closure, for example, forms the upper part of an injection vial or syringe and comprises a head and a threaded section that screw together. To open the container, the head is unscrewed from the threaded section and removed. The container body forms the lower part of the injection vial or syringe and serves as a receptacle for receiving and storing a predetermined contents.
[0012] The container forms a primary vessel to which the label assembly is attached as a secondary component. The cap element can therefore also be referred to as a secondary cap, which is placed on the container and surrounds the closure. The labeling assembly is suitable for use on a syringe, which is a multi-part vessel consisting of a syringe head and a syringe body. However, the principle is also applicable to other pharmaceutical packaging, such as injection vials or vials. The described labeling assembly also enables the subsequent sealing of pre-filled syringes. An adapter for the container closure can be implemented using the cap element, which can, in particular, compensate for any geometric differences between the syringe head and syringe body. Therefore, the labeling assembly also contributes to simple, automated, and reliable labeling of such vessels.Typically, the threaded section of the closure is smaller than the head or the body of the container. In rotationally symmetrical containers, such as syringes, this applies particularly to the diameter of the respective container parts. Furthermore, the threaded section of a Luer-lock syringe usually has a tapered thread, which is difficult to label. The surrounding cap element allows the diameter of the syringe head to be specifically increased and, for example, matched to the diameter of the body. This makes it particularly easy and reliable to apply the label to the container adapted with the cap element, and, in conjunction with the second cap part, secures the threaded section of the syringe. This allows for targeted prevention of unwanted rotation of the threaded section, for example when opening the container or inserting a syringe needle.
[0013] According to a further preferred embodiment of the labeling arrangement, the first and / or the second cap part, relative to its longitudinal axis, has a circumferential contour on a respective inner surface, which forms a negative shape corresponding to a circumferential contour on a respective outer surface of the closure. By means of such an inverse shaping of the inner contour of the cap element, a particularly reliable hold on the container's closure can be achieved. The cap element forms a form-fitting secondary cap, which, acting as an adapter for the primary cap or closure, compensates for any geometric differences and provides a stable and secure hold on the container.
[0014] In particular, a wall of the second cap part, bounded by an inner and an outer surface, can be conical with respect to its longitudinal axis and taper towards the first cap part. Preferably, the outer surface of the second cap part is cylindrical, while the inner surface of the second cap part tapers towards the vessel body in a funnel shape. In other words, the second cap part has a thicker wall in its lower region, which faces the vessel body when applied, than in its upper region, which faces away from the vessel body when applied.
[0015] According to a particularly preferred embodiment, the labeling arrangement further comprises a lid element that can be coupled to the first cap part and that is designed to be attached to the closure of the container, coupling the first cap part to the closure and covering one upper surface of the closure. The lid element is particularly designed such that it can be coupled to the first cap part and / or the closure by positive locking, frictional locking, and / or material bonding. In particular, the lid element and the first cap part can be designed such that they can be coupled to each other by welding and / or bonding.
[0016] The toothed structure of the cap element is designed to engage with existing recesses on the outside of the closure or to take into account the surface structure on the outside of the closure. The toothed structure comprises, for example, one or more toothed elements that, in the form of snap-fit or interlocking projections, create a positive-locking connection with the closure of the container, thus ensuring a reliable holding force between the cap element and the closure along a longitudinal axis of the cap element.
[0017] Alternatively or additionally, for example, the first cap part includes a contour with a toothed structure on an inner surface, which is designed to correspond to a contour with a toothed structure on an outer surface of the cover element. The cover element has, for example, a projecting, circumferential area that can engage in a corresponding circumferential recess or groove on an inner surface of the first cap part, thus creating a snap-fit connection. The toothed structures are complementary to each other, so that, for example, one toothed structure has a toothed element designed to engage in a recess of the other toothed structure when the cap element is attached to the closure. The interlocking element(s) are, for example, each designed in the form of a vertical and / or horizontal locking hook, which is configured to form a positive-locking connection, such that a rotational holding force and / or a holding force in the direction of the longitudinal axis is established between the cap element and the closure with respect to a longitudinal axis of the cap element. The cap element then interlocks with the closure by rotating the cap element or the respective cap parts until they engage with a surface structure on the closure and / or the cover element.
[0018] A toothed structure can be provided on the first and / or second cap part and contribute to easier opening of the container by means of a rotary motion, whereby force is transmitted due to the rotationally fixed positive fit between the cap element and the closure with or without a lid element. When the container is opened, the holding force of the closure on the container body must then be overcome by a rotary motion. As an alternative to a snap hook, a toothed element of a toothed structure can be designed as a ridge or pin relative to a longitudinal axis of the cap element and configured to form a positive-locking coupling with the first part of the container, so that a holding force is established in the radial direction around the longitudinal axis between the cap element and the closure.
[0019] The lid element can be designed as a flat disc and, in particular, may have a predefined surface structure on its circumferential outer surface, enabling reliable coupling with the cap element. Alternatively or additionally, a surface structure can be specifically defined on an inner or underside of the lid element to form a reliable and stable connection with the top of the closure.
[0020] According to a further development of the labeling arrangement, the lid element has a sleeve section that extends between the cap element and the closure when the labeling arrangement is applied to the container. This allows for a particularly reliable connection between the first cap part and the lid element, which also contributes to reliable force transmission to the closure. Compared to a disc-shaped lid element, the circumferential sleeve section offers a larger contact area with the first cap part and thus contributes to a particularly secure and reliable hold.
[0021] According to a further development of the labeling arrangement, the cap element and / or the lid element is designed as a shrink film element. The cap element and the lid element can, for example, be formed as a single piece, creating a kind of film pouch that is placed over the container's closure and, for instance, glued to the container. Alternatively or additionally, such a film pouch can be attached to the container using the fixation label. By applying heat radiation, the cap element and / or the lid element can be selectively shrunk and precisely conform to the outer shape of the closure. Such a film element offers, in particular, relatively low tear resistance, so that it can be easily torn and cut.The foil element is designed, for example, as an acetate foil and does not require any separate perforation or other weakening structure to allow easy cutting of the cap element.
[0022] According to a further development of the labeling arrangement, the first and second cap parts are connected to each other, and the separation zone is formed along the longitudinal axis between the first and second cap parts. This allows the cap element to be cut in the separation zone when the container with the labeling arrangement is opened, enabling the first cap part, along with part of the closure, to be removed from the second cap part and the container body. Specifically, the cap element can have a cutting element in the separation zone in the form of a perforation and / or a plurality of connecting ribs, each of which allows for controlled cutting along the cutting element.
[0023] The separation zone of the cap element can therefore be defined by the first and second cap elements forming two separate parts that are coupled together when the labeling assembly is attached to the container. When the container is opened, the first cap part is then completely or partially removed along with part of the closure. Alternatively, the cap parts can also be connected or formed as a single piece, creating a continuous cap element that is placed onto the container. The separation zone can also be referred to as the cutting zone, as it allows for controlled cutting, particularly of a continuous cap element. It is not essential that the two cap parts are separated exactly. It is also possible that a section of the upper, first cap part separates from the lower, second cap part, and that another section of the first cap part remains attached to the second cap part. This can occur, for example, if the first cap part is made of a foil element and tears when opened, leaving sections attached to the container or container body.
[0024] If, for example, the cap element has connecting bridges that link the upper, first cap part to the lower, second cap part, these bridges break when the container is opened by pulling and / or twisting the attached cap element, allowing the first cap part, or at least a section of it, along with the attached part of the closure, to be removed from the remaining components. Such broken connecting bridges can also serve as proof that the container has been opened.
[0025] Furthermore, the fixing label can also have a separation area located between the first and second label sections, so that when the container applied with the labeling arrangement is opened, the fixing label can be cut through in its separation area and the first label section, together with the first cap part and the head part of the closure, can be removed from the second label section and the container body.
[0026] Preferably, a cutting element in the form of one or more perforations is arranged in the separation area of the tamper-evident label. Alternatively or additionally, a tear strip can be provided in the separation area of the tamper-evident label. Using a tear strip, the tamper-evident label can be selectively cut when the container is opened. This allows for a simple and cost-effective controlled cutting of the tamper-evident label along the predefined perforation or tear strip. A perforation can also be combined with cutouts or branches extending upwards and / or downwards to leave clearly visible damage after the tamper-evident label has been cut and the container opened. The perforation can, for example, be jagged to provide a clearly visible indicator of initial opening.Alternatively or additionally, the fixing label can have a film or film element in the separation or cutting area that has a specified tear resistance.
[0027] The labeling arrangement preferably includes an adhesive layer located on the underside of the label, allowing the label to be easily and reliably attached to the container. If the applied label has a cut-through area extending to the upper, first cap section, this cut-through area is preferably adhesive-free. This facilitates easier cutting of the label and removal of the first label section. The force required to separate the cap element and / or the label is reduced compared to a fully adhesive label, and the opening dynamics of the container with the label applied are improved.
[0028] Preferably, an outer surface of the cap element is pre-roughened and / or has a microstructure that contributes to particularly reliable adhesion of the fixing label. For example, an outer surface of the second cap part is designed to accommodate a fixing label equipped with adhesive. This can be achieved by selecting a plastic with high surface energy and / or surface roughness. The outer surface of the cap element can also be divided into two parts, with the lower, second cap part being designed for adhesion to the fixing label as described, and the upper, first cap part having, for example, a knurled surface that allows for a secure grip when performing an opening twisting motion. The fixing label can also provide a certain degree of roughness or grip, contributing to an improved feel of the container with the labeling arrangement. Beneficial surface properties can also be achieved, for example, with anti-slip varnishes, printed tactile elements, or surface microstructuring, which enable a more secure grip on the cap element and / or the fixing label.
[0029] The fixing label can be single-layered or multi-layered. For example, it can be a wraparound or over-wrap label that encircles the container along its longitudinal axis. Alternatively, the fixing label can be designed to only partially cover the container's circumference. In terms of height or length, the fixing label can partially or completely cover the container from bottom to top, or extend from a foot end of the container body to a head end of the closure. Alternatively, the fixing label can extend beyond the height or length of the container and be applied to the side of the cap element and any lid that may be present.
[0030] According to a further development of the labeling arrangement, the second cap element has a snap-in hook designed to form a positive-locking connection with the container's closure, thus creating a holding force along the longitudinal axis of the cap element between the cap element and the closure. Such a snap-in hook can, for example, be designed as a circumferential, protruding area on a lower section of the second cap element. In the applied state, this area faces the container body and engages in a gap between the closure and the container body on the underside of the closure, snapping into place. This further contributes to a reliable hold of the cap element on the closure or the container.
[0031] According to a further development of the labeling arrangement, the separation zone is designed to fit the container and is located in a section of the cap element that, when the labeling arrangement is applied to the container, corresponds to a transition between the head and threaded parts of the closure. Sufficiently firm turning and / or pulling of the cap element simultaneously results in a predetermined separation of the labeling arrangement. However, the separation zone can also be located in other areas that allow the cap element and, if applicable, the affixing label to separate when the container is opened. Furthermore, a cutting element, for example in the form of a perforation or a tear strip, can be provided in the separation zone, enabling controlled separation of the respective components.
[0032] According to a further preferred embodiment, the labeling arrangement comprises an opening detection element located in the separation area of the cap element. This element is configured to indicate, upon opening of the container applied with the labeling arrangement, the removal of at least a section of the first cap part together with the closure portion from the container body. Such an opening detection element can, for example, be implemented as a detachable section of the first cap part and, optionally, also of the first label section of the affixing label. If the two cap parts form adjacent sections of the cap element between which a perforation is provided, or if connecting bridges are formed between the cap parts, these elements can serve as the opening detection element. After the container has been opened, broken sections of the bridge or a torn perforation remain on the upper, first and the lower, second part of the cap, so that, similar to a water bottle cap, it can be seen that the container has already been opened.
[0033] According to a further embodiment, the cap element has a recess that penetrates a wall of the cap element, thus enabling fluid exchange, for example during a sterilization process, between an interior and an exterior space of the cap element. Such a fluid opening can be located, for example, in an upper or lower region of the cap element and facilitate media exchange. Preferably, several fluid openings are provided, allowing the passage of gas and / or liquid. A penetrating recess can ventilate the space between the primary cap and the attached cap element, helping to prevent any unwanted media inclusion in the space from having adverse effects on the container and its contents, as well as on the attached labeling arrangement.
[0034] The cap element can be made of a transparent material, allowing for visual inspection of the closure. For example, the cap element can be made of a transparent plastic. This could be particularly useful for the lower, second part of the cap element, which, for instance, encloses a Luer thread on a syringe. This allows for external inspection of the syringe tip, for example, to check for air bubbles in the neck of a container.
[0035] The labeling arrangement allows for a reliable and secure seal of the container, preventing unauthorized tampering with the contents and clearly indicating initial use or previous opening. The affixing label can feature a printed or inscribed mark as an identifying element. Furthermore, the affixing label ensures a secure hold for the threaded part of the closure, which is coupled to the second cap part. This second cap part is, in turn, connected to the affixing label and thus to the container body.
[0036] According to a further aspect, the invention includes a use of an embodiment of the described labeling arrangement for a vessel that can be divided into several parts, comprising a vessel body and a closure.
[0037] According to a further aspect of the invention, a system comprises a vessel divisible into several parts, with a vessel body and a closure coupled to the vessel body. The system also includes an embodiment of the previously described labeling arrangement, which is applied to the vessel such that the cap element surrounds the closure, and the first cap part is associated with a head part and the second cap part with a threaded part of the closure. Furthermore, the first label section of the fixing label is attached to the second cap part, and the second label section of the fixing label is attached to the vessel body, so that the fixing label couples the cap element to the vessel body.
[0038] Because the use and the system relate to or include an embodiment of the described labeling arrangement, the described properties and characteristics of the labeling arrangement are also disclosed for the use and for the system, and vice versa.
[0039] The invention also relates to a method for attaching a labeling arrangement to a multi-part container. The method comprises providing a container divisible into several parts, comprising a container body and a closure that is coupled to, or can be coupled to, the container body. The method further comprises providing the labeling arrangement with a sleeve-shaped cap element and a fixing label, the cap element having a first cap part, a second cap part, and a separation area. The fixing label has a first label section and a second label section adjacent to the first label section. The method further comprises coupling the cap element to the container body and to the container closure, such that the cap element is attached to the container body and surrounds the closure. The method further comprises attaching the fixing label to the container by fastening the second label section to the container body and attaching the fixing label to the cap element by fastening the first label section to the second cap part. Thus, the fixing label couples the cap element to the container body, so that when the container with the labeling arrangement is opened, the labeling arrangement can be separated in the separation area and at least one section of the first cap part, together with a part of the closure, can be removed from the second cap part and the container body.
[0040] The described application or assembly method makes it possible to utilize the properties and features provided by the labeling arrangement for secure protection and reliable identification of the container. Among other things, this provides a clearly recognizable tamper-evident seal, and the fixation of the threaded part of the closure also contributes to improved handling when opening and using the container. Since the method relates to the application or assembly of an embodiment of the described labeling arrangement, the described properties and features of the labeling arrangement are also disclosed for the method, and vice versa.
[0041] According to a further development of the method, coupling the sleeve-shaped cap element to the vessel body and to the closure involves placing the cap element onto the vessel body and inserting the closure into the cap element. The closure can first be inserted into the cap element, forming a pre-assembled unit that is then placed onto the vessel body. Alternatively, the closure can be inserted into the cap element after the cap element has been placed onto the vessel body. Furthermore, the closure can be provided in individual parts, at least with a head and a threaded section, and assembled before coupling.Furthermore, the closure can be provided already attached to the vessel body, so the process can include a single step in which the closure is first removed from the vessel body, coupled to the cap element, and subsequently reattached to the vessel body together with the cap element. The assembly sequence for arranging and assembling the described components of the labeling assembly can therefore vary, with complete labeling of the vessel with the fixation label only possible after at least the second cap part has been attached to the vessel body.
[0042] A preferred embodiment of the method takes into account that the labeling arrangement has a lid element which is placed on the first cap part of the cap element and / or on a head part of the closure, so that the lid element covers a top of the head part of the closure and couples the first cap part with the head part at least during an opening process of the container and thereby enables force transmission.
[0043] According to a further development of the method, coupling the cap element and / or the lid element with the vessel closure involves forming a respective positive-locking, force-locking, and / or material-locking connection. Such couplings can be formed, in particular, by interlocking, by bonding, by welding, and / or by the application of thermal radiation.
[0044] The labeling arrangement attached to the container enables a reliable first-opening indicator, particularly for Luer-lock glass syringes, and contributes to improved labeling capability. The described labeling arrangement is further explained below using the example of a container in the form of a two-part syringe, which can be made of plastic (e.g., COC / COP) or glass with a Luer-lock thread / adapter. However, the properties and characteristics can also be applied to other multi-part containers, such as injection vials.
[0045] Preferably, the labeling arrangement comprises the fixing label and a two-part secondary closure with a sleeve-shaped cap element and a lid element, which are particularly suitable for use with Luer locks on glass syringes. The cap element can be designed to accommodate a common Luer lock shape that tapers conically towards the glass syringe, so that a conventional cap does not sit flush with the circumference of the glass syringe. This makes wrinkle-free labeling of the syringe, except for the cap, impossible. The described labeling arrangement allows for simple and cost-effective circumferential alignment between the syringe body and the syringe closure.Furthermore, the outer circumference of the glass syringe with the secondary closure provided by the labeling arrangement is made only slightly larger than without such a cap element, so that the syringes can be easily inserted into associated storage containers, so-called nests.
[0046] In particular, the described labeling arrangement, due to its design, can be beneficial for the manufacturing or assembly of the labeling arrangement onto the container. The syringe cap can be fitted with the provided secondary closure of the labeling arrangement without the syringe body, then sterilized, and only subsequently attached to the syringe or syringe body. This offers logistical advantages for the pharmaceutical company and its suppliers and can have a beneficial impact on the assembly process.
[0047] The sleeve-shaped cap element can be manufactured with very thin walls and can be designed to be highly flexible or stretchable. In its lower section, which faces the syringe body when assembled, the cap element has a smaller diameter than in its upper section. This allows the cap element to enclose the Luer thread so that it is flush with the glass syringe or its body. The resulting flush transition between the syringe body and the Luer thread can then be labeled without creases using the fixing label, thus ensuring reliable anti-rotation of the Luer thread relative to the syringe body.
[0048] A lid element can be provided at the upper end of the cap element. This lid element is placed, for example, onto a recess in the syringe closure and mechanically contacts the closure and / or the cap element. When the syringe is opened, a force is exerted on the upper part of the sleeve-shaped cap element. Due to the connection between the lid element and the syringe closure, and due to the fixation of the lower, second cap part to the syringe barrel, a predetermined separation of the cap parts can be initiated, for example, by breaking existing retaining tabs on the cap element, thus serving as an indicator of initial opening.
[0049] Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained below with reference to schematic drawings. The drawings show: Figure 1: Exemplary embodiment of a system with a multi-part container and a labeling arrangement attached thereto; Figures 2-10: a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement; Figures 11-12: a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement; Figures 13-14: a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement; Figures 15-17: a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement; Figures 18-19: a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement; Figures 20-22: a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement; Figures 23-25: a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement; Figures 26-28: a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement; Figures 29-31: a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement; and Figure 32: a flowchart for a method for attaching the labeling arrangement to a multi-part container.
[0050] Elements of the same construction and function are marked with the same reference symbols across all figures. For the sake of clarity, not all depicted elements may be marked with their corresponding reference symbols in every figure.
[0051] The Figure 1 Figure 1 shows a schematic sectional view of a system with a multi-part container 30 and an attached labeling arrangement 1, which enables reliable and secure tamper detection for the container 30 and also contributes to improved labeling capability and handling of the container 30. The container 30 includes a closure 31 by means of which a container body 32 of the container 30 can be closed. The closure 31 in turn comprises a threaded section or threaded part 34 and a head section or head part 33, which can be screwed onto the threaded part 34.
[0052] The labeling arrangement 1 comprises a cap element 10 with a first cap part 11 and a second cap part 12, which are adjacent to each other and between which a cutting area 14 is provided. With respect to a longitudinal axis L of the labeling arrangement 1 and / or the vessel 30, the first cap part 11 forms an upper cap part and the second cap part 12 a lower cap part. The cap element 10 is sleeve-shaped and has a toothed structure 113 on an inner surface 111, which interacts with a toothed structure 153 of a lid element 15. The cap element 10 is designed to be coupled to and surround the closure 31 of the vessel 30.The cap element 10 further comprises a toothed structure on an inner surface 111 and / or 121 of the first and / or second cap part 11, 12, with which it can be coupled positively and / or force-fitted to an outer surface 35 and / or 36 of the closure 31. Thus, a rotational holding force is established with respect to the longitudinal axis L between the cap element 10 and the closure 31.
[0053] The second cap part 12 has according to the in Figure 1 The illustrated embodiment also features a circumferential locking hook 123 which engages in a gap between the cap element 10 and the vessel body 32, thus providing a further holding force in the direction of the longitudinal axis L between the cap element 10 and the closure 31.
[0054] The labeling arrangement 1 further comprises a fixing label 20 with a first label section 21 and an adjoining second label section 22. The first label section 21 is configured to be attached to the cap element 10 when the fixing label 20 is applied to the vessel 30. The first label section 21 is specifically configured to be attached to the second cap part 12, such that the fixing label 20 couples the cap element 10 to the vessel body 32 of the vessel 30. The second label section 22 is configured to be attached to the vessel body 32. This can be achieved, in particular, by adhering the fixing label 20 to an outer surface 122 of the second cap part 12 and an outer surface 38 of the vessel body 30 using an adhesive layer. The two label sections 21 and 22 of the fixing label 20 preferably form adjacent parts of a common material web.
[0055] The two cap parts 11 and 12 are, for example, formed as a single plastic component and have a deliberately introduced weakening structure in the cutting area 14, for example in the form of a circumferential indentation, perforation and / or predetermined breaking point, so that when the container 30 applied with the labeling arrangement 1 is opened, the cap element 10 can be cut through in the cutting area 14 in a predetermined manner and the first cap part 11 or at least a part of it together with the head part 33 of the closure 31 can be removed from the second threaded part 34 of the closure 31.
[0056] Furthermore, the labeling arrangement includes 1 according to Figure 1The lid element 15 can be coupled to the first cap part 11 by means of the toothed structure 153. The lid element 15 is designed to be attached to the closure 31 of the vessel 30 and to cover a top surface 37 of the closure 31. The lid element 15 serves in particular to transmit force during an opening process from the cap element 10 to the closure 31 or from the first cap part 11 to the head part 33. The lid element 15 is preferably designed such that it can be coupled to the first cap part 11 and / or the closure 31 in a form-fit, force-fit, and / or material-fit manner. For example, the lid element 15 can be mechanically snapped to the first cap part 11 by means of the interacting toothed structures 113 and 153, as shown, and / or be attached to the top surface 37 of the head part 33 by means of adhesive bonding.
[0057] The toothed structure 113 of the first cap part 11 is designed as a circumferential recess or groove on the inner surface 111 of the cap element 10, corresponding to the toothed structure 153 on an outer surface 152 of the cover element 15, which is complementary to the recess and forms a bead or projecting, annular elevation. Alternatively or additionally, the first cap part 11 can also include a projecting area or one or more toothed elements that engage in corresponding recesses on the cover element 15, so that a particularly stable and reliable holding force can be established with respect to the longitudinal axis L between the cap element 10 and the closure 31.
[0058] The lid element 15 has a sleeve section 154 which is arranged between the cap element 10 and the closure 31 with respect to the longitudinal axis L. In this way, a particularly reliable hold can be established between the first cap part 11 and the lid element 15, as well as between the lid element 15 and the head part 33 of the closure 31, which enables reliable force transmission when the vessel 30 is opened. Alternatively, the lid element 15 can also be designed as a flat disc (see figure). Figures 18 and 19 ) and have a predefined surface structure on a circumferential outer surface that enables reliable coupling with the cap element 10.
[0059] The labeling arrangement 1 described below enables, among other things, a reliable and cost-effective sealing solution for syringes with a Luer-lock thread. Labeling arrangement 1 allows for the secure sealing of primary packaging in the pharmaceutical sector, such as injection vials or bottles, thereby guaranteeing or at least clearly indicating the integrity of the drug packaging. This will be further illustrated below. Figures 2 to 32 As explained, labeling arrangement 1 can prevent the unintentional or unauthorized reuse of a correspondingly labeled primary packaging after its use, or at least clearly and reliably indicate that the primary packaging has been opened for the first time. Thus, labeling arrangement 1 also counteracts tampering with the primary packaging and provides proof of initial opening.
[0060] The labeling arrangement 1 is described below primarily in conjunction with a syringe, designated as vessel 30, which has a syringe head realized by the closure 31 and a syringe body realized by the vessel body 32. However, the principle is also applicable to other pharmaceutical packaging, such as injection vials or vials. The vessel 30 can be designed as a glass or plastic syringe, which has a removable head 33 for opening. This head 33, together with the threaded part 34, is arranged on or attached to the syringe body 32. Within the context of this description, terms such as "top," "bottom," "head," and "body" refer to the operational arrangement, application, and orientation of the labeling arrangement 1 and the vessel 30.The closure 31 of the vessel or syringe 30 thus forms an upper part or head of the syringe 30, which is at least partially removed to open the syringe 30. The vessel body or syringe body 32 then forms a lower part of the syringe 30, which constitutes a container for receiving and storing a predetermined contents.
[0061] The first label section 21 of the fixing label 20 is assigned to the closure 31 or the cap element 10 arranged around it and can therefore also be referred to as the upper label section 21. The second label section 22 of the fixing label 20 is assigned to the lower syringe body 32 and can therefore also be referred to as the lower label section 22.
[0062] The cap element 10 has a contour on its inner surface 111 and / or 112, which is predefined to correspond to a contour on the outer surface 35 and / or 36 of the closure 31. If the cover element 15 includes the sleeve section 154, the inner surface 111 of the first cap part 11 can be predefined to correspond to a contour on the outer surface 152 of the sleeve section 154. An inner surface 151 of the cover element 15 is preferably also predefined to correspond to the outer surface 35 and / or the top surface 37 of the head part 33. The contours of the adjacent components are particularly preferably designed to form partially or completely complementary geometries. The second cap part 12 preferably has a conical inner geometry that creates a negative form corresponding to a circumferential contour on the outer surface 36 of the threaded part 34.
[0063] The threaded part 34 of a Luer-Lock thread runs conically towards the syringe body 32 (see figure). Figures 2 to 4), so that it has a smaller diameter at one end than at one end. Accordingly, the second cap part 12 preferably has a conical geometry, in which the wall of the second cap part 12 is thicker at one end than at one end. This allows for a reliable positive fit between the cap element 10 and the closure 31. The wall thickness of the cap element 10 is preferably also adapted to any diameter difference that may exist between the head part 33 and the threaded part 34 of the closure 31. In this way, the cap element 10 can act as an adapter, compensating for any geometric difference between the Luer-lock closure 31 and the syringe body 32. In particular, the geometries and elements described relate to rotationally symmetrical designs with respect to the longitudinal axis L, as are common in syringes.
[0064] The Figures 2 to 10Figure 1 shows an embodiment of the labeling arrangement 1 in various positions for assembly or attachment to the syringe 30. Such an assembly method can be described in Figure 1. Figure 32 The illustrated flowchart shows a procedure for applying the labeling arrangement 1 to the container 30.
[0065] The Figure 2 The schematic side view shows the individual components of the system, which can be provided individually or partially coupled in step S1. A downward-pointing arrow indicates that in a further step S2, the components cap element 10 and syringe body 32 can be coupled.
[0066] The Figure 3Figure 1 shows the completed coupling, in which the sleeve-shaped cap element 10 is placed on the syringe body. A downward-pointing arrow indicates the next possible coupling. In step S3, the threaded part 34 and the head part 33 can be coupled together, in particular screwed together, provided that the closure 31 is not already provided coupled.
[0067] The Figure 4 Figure 1 shows the completed coupling, in which the head part 33 is screwed into the threaded part 34. A downward-pointing arrow indicates the next possible coupling. In step S4, the closure 31 can now be inserted into the sleeve-shaped cap element 10. In particular, when the closure 31 is inserted into the cap element 10, a positive-locking coupling is formed, which is established by means of coordinated contours and / or interacting tooth structures.
[0068] The Figure 5Figure 1 shows the coupling of the closure 31 with the cap element 10, in which the closure 31 is inserted into and surrounded by the cap element 10. A downward-pointing arrow indicates the next possible coupling, in which the cover element 15 is placed onto the cap element 10 and the closure 31. This can be done in a further step S5, in which, for example, the sleeve section 154 of the cover element 15 is pushed between the cap element 10 and the closure 31 until the toothed structures 113 and 153 engage and interlock, and the cover element 15 contacts the head 33 of the closure 31. Such a force-transmitting contact between the cover element 15 and the closure 31 can be formed on the top 37 and / or on the outside or outer surface 35 of the closure 31.
[0069] The Figures 6 and 7show a state of the system in which the cap element 10 and the lid element 15 are arranged on the vessel 30.
[0070] The Figures 8 to 10Figure 1 illustrates a fully assembled state of the labeling arrangement 1, in which the fixing label 20 is also attached to the container 30. In a further step S6 of the process, the fixing label 20 is attached to the syringe body 32 and the second cap part 12 of the cap element 10. The fixing label 20 is wrapped around the syringe body 32 and the second cap element 10 and has, for example, an adhesive layer on its underside, by means of which it is adhered to the respective components, so that the first label section 21 is adhered to the second cap part 12 and the second label section 22 is adhered to the syringe body 32. The fixing label 20 can form a wraparound label or an overwrap label, encircle the syringe, and partially lie on itself.Alternatively, the fixing label 20 is designed such that it covers only a circumferential section of the surface 38 of the syringe body 32 and the outer surface 122 of the second cap part 12.
[0071] The fixing label 20 serves as an identification medium and can include a label or imprint that, for example, provides information regarding the contents of the container 30. Furthermore, the fixing label 20 is used to fix the threaded part 34 in its position and to prevent unwanted rotation of the threaded part 34. The fixing label 20 couples the second cap part 12, which in turn is coupled to the threaded part 34, to the syringe body 32, thus preventing movement of the threaded part 34 relative to the syringe body 32.
[0072] The Figure 8This also illustrates that the cap element 10, or the second cap part 12, enables the adapted threaded part 34 and the syringe body 32 to have a circumference that is identical, thus allowing for simple and wrinkle-free labeling of the adapted container 30. At least in a lower section of the second cap part 12, which faces the syringe body 32, the cap element 10 has a diameter D2 that essentially corresponds to the diameter of the cylindrical syringe body 32. In an upper section of the second cap part 12 and / or in the area of the first cap part 11, the cap element 10 has, for example, a diameter D1 that is larger than the diameter D2, so that the geometry of the closure 31 is taken into account and, so to speak, transformed into an adapted cylindrical shape.
[0073] The Figures 9 and 10Figure 1 illustrates an opening process of the vessel 30, in which a rotational movement is performed on the upper, first cap part 11, causing the cap element 10 to tear or break open in the cut area 14. By applying external force to the sleeve-shaped cap element 10 through pressure on the upper, first cap part 11, a positive locking mechanism can be formed, enabling reliable force transmission to the head part 33 of the closure 31. The first cap part 11, together with the lid element 15 (if any) and the head part 33 of the closure 31 located therein, can then be removed from the remaining components. The severed cap element 10 now serves, in particular, as proof of opening and clearly indicates that the initial opening has taken place. As an alternative to embodiments of the labeling arrangement 1 with the lid element 15, it is also possible to provide the labeling arrangement 1 without a lid element 15 and still provide a reliable first opening indicator for the container 30 and anti-rotation device for the threaded part 34.
[0074] The Figures 11 and 12 Figure 1 shows a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement 1, which comprises a two-part cap element 10. As indicated by the arrows, the cap element 10 is placed laterally around the closure 31 and interlocks with each other by means of a snap-fit structure 16. The cap element 10 can be closed at the top with the lid element 15 or, without a lid, surround the closure 31 and form an upwardly open sleeve.
[0075] The Figures 13 and 14Figure 1 shows a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement 1, according to which the upper and lower cap parts 11 and 12 each have a snap-in structure 161 and 162 that interlock and form a reliable hold. The lower, second cap part 12 can also be referred to as a crown, onto which the closure 31 with the surrounding first cap part 11 as a sleeve with or without a cover element 15 is placed, so that the snap-in structures 161 and 162 interlock.
[0076] The Figures 15 to 17Figure 1 shows a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement 1, according to which the cap element 10 is designed in two parts in the form of crowns. The first cap part 11 and the second cap part 12 each have a crown shape and can be inserted into one another or arranged on top of each other. The cutting or separation area 14 can then be formed between the two cap parts 11 and 12, which allows the upper crown to be removed from the lower one.
[0077] The Figures 16 and 17Figure 20 illustrates that the fixing label 20 is wrapped around the vessel 30 and the cap element 10 arranged on it. The fixing label 20 extends to the upper, first cap part 11, thus covering both crowns. In this way, both cap parts 11 and 12 are coupled to the syringe body 32 by means of the fixing label 20. According to this embodiment, the fixing label 20 has a cutting area 24 comprising a perforation 25, which allows the fixing label 20 to be cut in a predetermined manner when the vessel 30, equipped with the labeling arrangement 1, is opened. Preferably, an adhesive-free surface is formed in the cutting area 24, so that the fixing label 20 can be easily and with minimal resistance cut and the first label section 21 removed.
[0078] The Figures 18 and 19Figure 1 shows a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement 1, according to which the cap element 10 is formed with an attached lid element 15. The lid element 15 is connected to the cap element 10 by means of a coupling element 17, for example in the form of a plastic strip. The coupling element 17 forms a mechanical hinge so that the lid element 15 can be placed on the cap element 10 as required and covers the top 37 of the closure 31.
[0079] The Figures 20 to 22Figure 1 shows a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement 1, according to which the first cap part 11 is designed as a tube or film element. Furthermore, the lid element 15 is integrally formed with the first cap part 11 and comprises a section of the film element that covers the top 37 of the closure 31. The first cap part 11 thus forms, together with the lid element 15, a kind of film pouch that is placed over the closure 31 and coupled to the syringe 30 by means of the fixing label 20. The film element can, in particular, also be designed as a shrink film, which can be selectively shrunk by the application of heat radiation and adapted to an outer contour of the surrounding elements.
[0080] When the container 30, sealed with the labeling device 1, is opened, the first cap part 11 is cut or torn by applying pressure and rotating the head 33 of the closure 31, so that a section of the first cap part 11 can be removed from the syringe body 32 together with the head 33 of the closure 31. The tearing can occur along a predetermined cutting element or, due to the thin design of the film element, even without a specified tear point. According to this embodiment, the cutting area is not specifically located within the first cap part 11 and is situated between the second cap part 12 and the top 37 of the closure 31.
[0081] The Figures 23 to 25Figure 1 shows a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement 1, according to which the first cap part 11 is designed as a shrink-wrap or shrink-film element, which is arranged on the second cap part 12. By applying heat radiation 19, the first cap part 11 can be selectively shrunk and conform to the outer surface 35 and 36 of the closure 31. The fixing label 20, in turn, fixes the second cap part 12 and the threaded part 34 fixedly arranged therein to the syringe body 32.
[0082] The Figures 26 to 28 show a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement 1, according to which, in contrast to the embodiment according to the Figures 23 to 25A cover element 15 is present, to which the first cap part 11 is attached as a shrink tubing or shrink film element. Attached to the closure 31 and inserted into the second cap part 12, the first cap part 11 can be shrunk by applying heat radiation 19 and adapted to an outer shape of the closure 31 and, if necessary, also to an outer shape of the second cap part 12.
[0083] The Figures 29 to 31Figure 1 shows a further embodiment of the labeling arrangement 1, according to which the first cap part 11, with or without a lid element 15, is designed as a solid component, and the second cap part 12 is designed as a shrink-wrap or shrink-film element. The second cap part 12 is connected to the first cap part 11 and is placed onto the closure 31 and the container body 32. Subsequently, the second cap part 12 is selectively shrunk by applying heat radiation 19 and adapted to an outer shape of the closure 31 and, if necessary, also to an outer shape of the container body 32. The fixing label 20 is then attached to the container body 32 and the cap element 10 such that its first label section 21 rests at least partially on the second cap part 12, thus securing the cap element 10 to the container body 32.
[0084] The described embodiments of the labeling arrangement 1 enable in particular a reliable Luer-Lock closure 31 of a Luer-Lock thread of a glass syringe 30, which, due to its design, can be realized with a very small diameter, so that it hardly contributes to a widening of the glass syringe 30 but to a standardization of the geometry of the glass syringe 30.
[0085] It is a finding related to the present invention that small glass syringes cannot be fitted with a conventional secondary closure because the primary closure, in the case of a Luer-lock thread, has a larger circumference than the syringe body. Existing cap solutions, which are placed on top of the primary closure, protrude at one end of the syringe body. This negatively impacts, among other things, the labeling capabilities and storage options of such adapted syringes. Due to the differing circumferences, the syringe body and such a secondary closure cannot be labeled together.
[0086] Using the described labeling arrangement 1, a circumferential alignment between the syringe body 32 and the adjacent cap element 10 can be achieved simply and cost-effectively. Subsequently, the two components, syringe body 32 and cap element 10, can be reliably and smoothly labeled, thus securing the closure 31 to the syringe body 32. Due to the preferred application of the labeling arrangement 1 to a glass syringe 30 with a Luer-lock thread, a type of Luer-lock fix-click secondary closure can be implemented using the labeling arrangement 1, which can be attached to the syringe 30 easily and quickly. Furthermore, the labeling arrangement 1 helps to ensure that the adapted syringes 30 do not extend too wide and remain suitable for nesting or storage in the designated storage containers.
[0087] With the labeling arrangement 1, no additional connecting label is required to close a gap between an upper and lower cap or between the closure 31 and the syringe body 32, and to provide a first-opening indicator, which can also be referred to as temper evidence. The cap element 10 forms a Luer-lock cap, which is attached to the syringe body 32 of the glass syringe 30 by means of the fixing label 20 and provides an anti-rotation feature with respect to the threaded part 34 of the closure 31.
[0088] The labeling arrangement 1 can be applied in a largely cleanroom environment and enables the formation of a particularly small secondary closure diameter or a particularly small diameter application on the closure 31 of the syringe 30.
[0089] Due to the described mounting options and cleanroom suitability, the labeling arrangement 1 also enables a more economical production process for the customer. Furthermore, the adapted closure 31 can be opened and the cap parts 11 and 12 selectively destroyed or separated with a single hand movement.
[0090] The cap element 10 comprises an elongated sleeve, the lower, second cap part 12 of which preferably has the same outer diameter, at least in a lower region, as the syringe body 32 of the glass syringe 30. The closure 31 is, in particular, a Luer-lock thread that is inserted into the sleeve-shaped cap element 10. The Luer-lock thread engages with the lower part of the sleeve formed by the second cap part 12, thus creating a secure, positive fit. The cap element 10 is, in particular, conically shaped in the inner region of the second cap part 12 and adapts to an outer contour of the Luer-lock thread. This design makes it possible to form a smaller circumference in the lower region of the sleeve than in the upper region and, moreover, to form a circumference that has the same circumference as the syringe body 32.This has a particularly advantageous effect on the storage of the syringe 30 equipped with the labeling arrangement 1.
[0091] The labeling assembly 1 is assembled by first inserting the entire closure 31 into the cap element 10 and then placing the cover element 15, if present, onto the closure 31 from above. The cover element 15 is connected to the closure 31 of the syringe 30, for example, via a positive or force-fit connection on its inner surface 151. The outer surface 151 of the cover element 15 connects to the inner surface 111 of the cap element 10 via a positive, force-fit, or material-fit connection. These connections ensure a rotational force transmission from the sleeve-shaped cap element 10 to the closure 31 of the syringe 30. The assembly steps described can alternatively be performed in a different sequence.
[0092] A preferred embodiment of the labeling arrangement 1 may include the following assembly steps: 1. Coupling the assembly (cap element 10 + closure 31 + lid element 15) with the syringe body 32 of the glass syringe 30. 2. Alternatively: Coupling the cap element 10 with the assembly (closure 31 + lid element 15) and with the syringe body 32 of the glass syringe 30. 3. Alternatively: Coupling the assembly (cap element 10 + closure 31) with the syringe body 32 of the glass syringe 30 and with the lid element 15. 4. Alternatively: Coupling the syringe body 32 of the glass syringe 30 with the cap element 10, the closure 31, and the lid element 15. 5. Alternatively: Coupling the syringe body 32 of the glass syringe 30 with the cap element 10 and with the assembly (closure 31 + lid element 15).
[0093] The following assembly steps, for example, can already be carried out at a supplier or in a preliminary process: 1a. Coupling the cap element 10 with the closure 31 and with the cover element 15, thereby providing the assembly (cap element 10 + closure 31 + cover element 15). 1b. Coupling the cap element 10 with the assembly (closure 31 + cover element 15), thereby providing the assembly (cap element 10 + closure 31 + cover element 15).
[0094] In principle, the assembly processes according to steps 1 to 5 can be carried out in a cleanroom. The assembly, preferably pre-assembled by a supplier according to one of steps 1a or 1b, can then be placed onto the syringe body 32 of the glass syringe 30 in the cleanroom.
[0095] The opening process of the syringe 30, applied with the labeling device 1, can be carried out as follows: An externally applied angular impulse transfers the force from the sleeve-shaped cap element 10 to the lid element 15, which in turn transfers the force to the head 33 of the closure 31. During assembly, the lid element 15 preferably interlocks or connects with both the inner surface 111 of the cap element 10 and the outer surface 35 and / or the top 37 of the closure 31. If the applied force exceeds the holding force of a perforation or existing connecting ribs of the cap element 10, it separates into two halves: the first and second cap parts 11 and 12. The upper, first cap part 11 remains interlocked with the lid element 15, which in turn remains on the head 33 of the closure 31. The lower, second cap part 12 of the cap element 10 secures the lower Luer-Lock thread orthe threaded part 34 of the closure 31 and remains connected to the syringe body 32 of the glass syringe 30 via the fixing label 20.
