Description

Technical field of the invention

[0001] The present invention relates to a wearable device comprising a case and a wristband connected to the case, intended to be worn on the user's wrist. More particularly, the invention relates to a removable attachment device for the wristband to the case of the wearable device, facilitating the assembly and disassembly of the wristband.

[0002] The invention relates more particularly to a wristwatch comprising a watch case without fixing lugs and a strap connected to said watch case, via a removable attachment device. Technological background

[0003] The attachment devices for securing a bracelet to a watch case are generally quite complex, both in terms of the number of different parts required for assembly and the complexity of these parts as well as their manufacturing difficulty.

[0004] In particular, the ends of each bracelet strand, as well as the watch case, must be specially shaped and machined to fit together. Furthermore, assembling these various components is quite time-consuming and therefore expensive.

[0005] The usual attachment devices are based on the presence of two lugs, or other protruding elements, made around the perimeter of the watch case, a transverse bar inserted at the end of a strap strand, each end of the transverse bar fitting into an opening made at the level of each lug.

[0006] This type of watch strap attachment requires a specific tool for strap interchangeability. Therefore, if the user wants to change their strap due to wear or aesthetics, they will generally need to go to a professional to have the replacement done. This process is time-consuming and incurs a certain cost.

[0007] From an industrial perspective, the lugs, or other protruding elements around the case, prevent the automation of many operations during watch case manufacturing and finishing. Therefore, some operations must be performed manually to avoid damaging the lugs or other protruding elements.

[0008] Attachment devices that facilitate the interchangeability of watch straps are known. However, these attachment devices are generally complex to manufacture and require the use of numerous intercalated or connecting parts between the strap strand, the mounting interface, and the watch case to ensure both the locking of the strap to the mounting interface and the locking of the mounting interface to the case, such as by springs, blades, etc., as disclosed in document JP2000253913A, for example.

[0009] Furthermore, the attachment devices offering simplified strap interchangeability require significant modifications to the watch case and / or strap without simplifying the manufacturing method for these elements, resulting in additional manufacturing costs.

[0010] Therefore, there is a need to improve the removable attachment devices of a bracelet on a watch case, and more generally of a bracelet on a wearable object, in order to remedy at least one of the limitations known and described previously. Summary of the invention

[0011] In this context, the invention aims to provide a wearable object comprising a simple, inexpensive attachment device requiring only a single, one-piece component to secure the strap and to couple and lock the strap to the case. Thus, the invention offers a "one-piece" solution that can be easily mass-produced using conventional manufacturing methods.

[0012] The invention also aims to provide an attachment device that allows for easy mounting and dismounting of the strap from the watch case using an elastic snap-fit. This allows the user to easily change their strap if it becomes worn, or to modify its appearance, without needing a professional.

[0013] The invention also aims to provide an attachment device that allows for easy manufacturing of the parts, so that the bracelet and the case can be fully automated by conventional means and do not require manual re-attaching of the attachment device.

[0014] The attachment device according to the invention allows for a case design where the case middle is free of lugs and protruding elements for strap attachment, resulting in a symmetrical case that is easily automated in production. Thus, the proposed solution offers economic advantages compared to prior art solutions that are more complex to manufacture and require a greater number of operations.

[0015] To this end, the invention relates to a wearable object comprising a case having a case without a lug and having two longitudinal cavities extending along a longitudinal direction XX, a strap having two ends, each end of the strap cooperating with a mounting interface configured to cooperate removably with a longitudinal cavity of said case to allow mounting of the strap, wherein the mounting interface is a single piece and comprises: means for receiving and securing one end of the bracelet; elastic interlocking means for axially locking the mounting interface in said longitudinal cavity along the longitudinal direction XX; means for locking the mounting interface in said longitudinal cavity along a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction

[0016] According to the invention, the elastic interlocking means are formed by at least one elastic clip cooperating with at least one housing provided in the longitudinal cavity.

[0017] Advantageously, the mounting interface is a separate part, distinct from the bracelet.

[0018] In addition to the characteristics mentioned in the preceding paragraph, the portable object according to the invention may have one or more additional characteristics from among the following, considered individually or according to the combinations claimed in the dependent claims:The mounting interface is configured to cooperate by sliding within said longitudinal cavity of said case; the means for receiving and securing one end of the strap are formed by two support plates spaced apart by a distance enabling the end of the strap to be positioned between the two support plates; the support plates have openings for the passage of a strap securing element; the end of the strap is sewn, welded or overmolded to the support plates; the means for receiving and securing one end of the strap are formed by a slot receiving the end of the strap and by teeth or ridges configured to insert and penetrate the material of the strap in order to ensure its locking; the teeth or ridges are provided inside the slot; the teeth have different profiles and / or different orientations;Advantageously, the orientations of the teeth are different from each other; the slot, in its free position, has an opening greater than the thickness of the end of the bracelet; the external dimensions of the mounting interface near the slot, in its free position, are greater than the internal dimensions of the longitudinal cavity, the mounting interface being configured to compress elastically to reduce the opening of the slot when inserted into the longitudinal cavity; the elastic interlocking means are formed by two elastic clips located at the longitudinal ends of the mounting interface, the two elastic clips being configured to cooperate with two end recesses provided in the longitudinal cavity; the elastic interlocking means are formed by a central elastic clip configured to cooperate with a central recess provided in the longitudinal cavity; The elastic interlocking means are configured to be reversible and allow unlocking of the axial position of the mounting interface without damaging any of the elements constituting the mounting interface; the means for locking the mounting interface in said longitudinal cavity in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction XX are formed by a bearing surface cooperating with an undercut portion or a complementary stopping surface of the longitudinal cavity; the mounting interface is made of polymer or metallic material; the case body is made of thermoplastic, preferably polyamide 11; the longitudinal cavity is open-ended so that the mounting interface can be inserted indifferently from either a first end or a second end of the cavity; the longitudinal cavities extend over two circular segments of the case body located at 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock.

[0019] Advantageously, the wearable item is a wristwatch. Brief description of the figures

[0021] In all figures, common elements bear the same reference numbers unless otherwise specified. Detailed description of the invention

[0022] There figure 1 represents a perspective view of a first example of the realization of a portable object 1 according to the invention.

[0023] There figure 2 represents an exploded view of the first example of the realization of a portable object 1 illustrated in the figure 1 , in order to visualize the different elements that make up the bracelet's fastening system.

[0024] In this application, wearable object 1 takes the form of a timepiece, such as a wristwatch intended to be worn on the user's wrist. It will also be understood that wearable object 1 could be, for example, a pedometer, a heart rate monitor, or any other wearable object intended to be worn by means of a bracelet, for example, on the wrist.

[0025] The portable object 1 includes a case 20, intended to house, for example, a clockwork movement (not shown here for clarity). The clockwork movement carries and drives means for displaying information, for example, the current time.

[0026] The case 20 consists of a case middle 21 closed by a case back at the bottom and a crystal at the top (not shown). The case 20 may also include a bezel (not shown) mounted on the case middle 21 and capable of supporting the crystal; the bezel may or may not be rotating.

[0027] The housing 20 illustrated by way of example is generally circular in shape. However, the housing 20 may have other known embodiments without departing from the context of the invention.

[0028] The 21 case is devoid of fixing lugs and instead features two longitudinal cavities 110 (only one longitudinal cavity being visible on the figures 1 and 2 ) forming a first part of the fastening system 100 of a bracelet 30. The longitudinal cavities 110 are configured to receive each end 31 of the bracelet 30, and more particularly to receive a mounting interface 200 integral with an end 31 of the bracelet 30, the mounting interface 200 forming the second part of the fastening system 100 of the bracelet 30.

[0029] Each longitudinal cavity 110 formed in the case 21 forms a mounting slide extending along a longitudinal direction XX.

[0030] For this purpose, the longitudinal cavity 110 has a shape adapted to ensure a sliding connection along the longitudinal direction XX and to block the other degrees of freedom, in particular along a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction XX.

[0031] Each longitudinal cavity 110 is configured to cooperate with a complementary mounting interface 200, so as to ensure quick, simple and removable mounting of the bracelet 30.

[0032] Each longitudinal cavity 110 is configured to receive by sliding the mounting interface 200 as well as to ensure translational guidance of the mounting interface 200, along the longitudinal direction XX, until it reaches a locking position.

[0033] The longitudinal cavities 110 are made at the level of two fixing portions, opposite each other, located on either side of a dial (not shown), and advantageously located at 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock.

[0034] The longitudinal cavities 110 extend over two circular segments of the case 21, located at 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock.

[0035] Each longitudinal cavity 110 is through-hole, that is to say it is open at a first end and a second end, so that it is possible to insert and remove each mounting interface 200, attached to the bracelet 30, from both the first end and the second end of the longitudinal cavity 110, that is to say from the end located on the crown side (3 o'clock side) or from the end located on the opposite side to the crown (9 o'clock side).

[0036] The bracelet 30 is in the form of two strands 32 (only one being shown) connected to each other by a closure device (not shown), for example a clasp, a folding buckle or any other ad-hoc element enabling the two strands 32 of the bracelet 30 to be attached around the user's wrist.

[0037] According to one embodiment variant, bracelet 30 is single-strand.

[0038] Bracelet 30 is preferably flexible.

[0039] The 200 mounting interface is a single piece that can perform several functions.

[0040] The mounting interface 200 includes in particular means to ensure reversible attachment of the bracelet 30 to the case 20 and presents means to facilitate the dismantling of the bracelet and therefore its interchangeability by the user.

[0041] For this purpose, the mounting interface 200 includes means 210 for receiving and securing one end 31 of the bracelet 30.

[0042] In this first embodiment, the means 210 for receiving and securing one end 31 of the bracelet 30 are formed by two support plates 211, 212 spaced apart from each other, by a distance allowing the end 31 of the bracelet 30 to be positioned between the two support plates 211, 212. Thus the end 31 of the bracelet 30 is bordered by the two support plates 211, 212 of the mounting interface 200.

[0043] More specifically, the means 210 for receiving and securing one end 31 of the bracelet 30 are formed by a first upper support plate 211 and by a second lower support plate 212. The two support plates 211, 212 are preferably parallel and extend along the longitudinal direction of the strand 32 of the bracelet 30.

[0044] Advantageously, the distance separating the two support plates 211, 212 is slightly less than the thickness of the strand 32 at its end 31, so as to allow the positioning of the bracelet 30 between the two support plates 211, 212, while ensuring pre-retention of the strand 32. Such a configuration makes it easier to secure the strand 32 to the mounting interface 200.

[0045] The support plates 211, 212 have a plurality of openings 213 for the passage or attachment of one or more fastening elements of the bracelet 30. The fastening element(s) of the bracelet 30 are chosen according to the material of the strand 32 of the bracelet 30 (for example in leather, in elastic thermoplastic, in fabric, etc.).

[0046] Thus, for example, the end 31 of the bracelet 30 can be sewn, welded at the orifices 213 or even directly overmolded to the mounting interface 200.

[0047] The mounting interface 200 also includes elastic interlocking means 220 for axially locking the mounting interface 200 in said longitudinal cavity 110 in the longitudinal direction XX.

[0048] The elastic interlocking means 220 are formed by two elastic clips 221, 222 located at the longitudinal ends of the mounting interface 200. The two elastic clips 221, 222 are configured to cooperate with two end housings 116, 117 provided at the longitudinal cavity 110 to block and lock the axial position of the mounting interface 200, and therefore of the bracelet 30, along the longitudinal direction XX.

[0049] The two elastic clips 221, 222 are symmetrical and are configured so that they can be compressed inside the longitudinal cavity 110 during assembly.

[0050] The two elastic clips 221, 222 are configured to return to their free (uncompressed) position at the end slots 116, 117 of the longitudinal cavity 110 by elastic return. When the elastic clips 221, 222 are in the free position in the end slots 116, 117, axial displacements of the mounting interface 200, along the longitudinal direction XX, are blocked.

[0051] For this purpose, each elastic clip 221, 222 has a bearing face 223 formed substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction XX, and configured to come against a lateral wall of the end housings 116, 117 of the longitudinal cavity 110.

[0052] The mounting interface 200 further includes means 230 for locking the mounting interface 200 in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction XX.

[0053] In the illustrated embodiment example, this transverse direction at the longitudinal cavity 110 is similar to a radial direction with respect to the center of the housing.

[0054] The means 230 for locking the mounting interface 200 in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction XX are formed by a front bearing surface 224 of the mounting interface 200 cooperating with an undercut portion of the longitudinal cavity 110.

[0055] In this first example of implementation, the mounting interface 200 is advantageously made of polymer material, preferably thermoplastic material.

[0056] In this first example of implementation, the mounting interface 200 is manufactured, for example, by an injection process.

[0057] To remove the bracelet 30, the user applies pressure to one of the elastic clips 221, 222 of the mounting interface 200, depending on the chosen removal direction, so as to deform it elastically until it reaches a compressed position that allows the elastic clip 221, 222 to be released from its corresponding end housing 116, 117. Once the elastic clip 221, 222 is released from the end housing 116, 117, the user can remove the bracelet 30 by sliding the mounting interface 200 out of the longitudinal cavity 110.

[0058] The elastic clips 221, 222 located at the ends of the mounting interface 200 are easily accessible to the user since they form the extension of the external surface of the case 21. Thus, the user can interact with the elastic clips 221, 222 simply with their finger, nail or a rudimentary tool easily within reach of the user, such as a pen, paper clip, staple, to proceed with the disassembly of the bracelet.

[0059] There figure 3 represents a perspective view of a second example of an embodiment of a portable object 2 according to the invention.

[0060] There figure 4 represents an exploded view of the second example of the embodiment of the portable object 2 illustrated in the figure 3 , in order to visualize the different elements constituting the 100' attachment system of the 30 bracelet.

[0061] In this second example of implementation, the portable object 2 is identical to the portable object 1 described previously except for the characteristics which will be described.

[0062] In this second embodiment, the 300 mounting interface is made of metallic material and is manufactured, for example, by stamping.

[0063] The mounting interface 300 includes means 310 for receiving and securing an end 31 of the bracelet 30 formed here by a slot 311 allowing the introduction of the end 31 of the strand 32 of the bracelet 30 and by teeth 312 configured to insert and penetrate into the material of the strand 32 of the bracelet 30 in order to ensure its locking.

[0064] The teeth 312 are directed towards the inside of the slot 311 and extend in the direction of the strand 32.

[0065] Advantageously, the mounting interface 300 has four teeth 312 distributed inside the slot 311.

[0066] The teeth 312 have a profile that facilitates insertion and penetration into the material of the strand 32 of the bracelet 30.

[0067] Advantageously, the teeth 312 have different profiles and / or different orientations so as to optimize the blocking of longitudinal and transverse movements of the strands 32 inside the slot 311.

[0068] Advantageously, each tooth 312 has a different orientation from the other teeth so as to optimize the blocking of longitudinal and transverse movements of the strands 32.

[0069] The mounting interface 300 includes elastic interlocking means 320 for axially locking the mounting interface 300 in the longitudinal cavity 120. The elastic interlocking means 320 are formed here by a single central elastic clip 321 configured to cooperate with a central housing 126 of the longitudinal cavity 120 provided for this purpose.

[0070] The central elastic clip 321 is configured to be compressed when the mounting interface 300 is introduced into the longitudinal cavity 120.

[0071] The central elastic clip 321 is configured to return to its free position once the elastic clip 321 is opposite the central housing 126, thus ensuring axial locking of the mounting interface 300.

[0072] To disassemble the mounting interface 300, the housing 20 includes a light accessible from outside the housing by the user. This light communicates with the central recess 126 of the longitudinal cavity 120. The light is configured to allow the insertion of a rudimentary tool readily available to the user, such as the end of a paper clip or staple, in order to compress the central elastic clip 321 of the mounting interface 300, thereby deforming it elastically until it reaches a compressed position that allows the mounting interface 300 to be disassembled.

[0073] The mounting interface 300 further includes means 330 for locking the mounting interface 300 in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction XX. The means 330 for locking the mounting interface 300 in a transverse direction are formed by frontal bearing surfaces 331, 332 cooperating with complementary bearing faces provided in the longitudinal cavity 120.

[0074] There figure 5 represents a perspective view of a third example of an embodiment of a 400 mounting interface according to the invention.

[0075] In this third embodiment example, the 400 mounting interface is advantageously made of polymer material, preferably thermoplastic material.

[0076] The 400 mounting interface is manufactured, for example, by an injection process.

[0077] The mounting interface 400 includes means 410 for receiving and securing an end 31 of the bracelet 30, which are formed here by a slot 411 allowing the introduction of the end 31 of the strand 32 of the bracelet 30 and by reliefs 412 configured to insert and penetrate into the material of the strand 32 of the bracelet 30. The various reliefs 412 are advantageously distributed inside the slot 411.

[0078] Advantageously, the opening of the slot 411 is slightly greater than the thickness of the end 31 of the strand 32 of the bracelet 30, so as to facilitate the insertion of the end 31 of the strand 32 into the slot 411.

[0079] The external dimensions of the mounting interface 400 near the slot 411 are also slightly larger than the internal dimensions of the longitudinal cavity so that the mounting interface 400 is compressed in the longitudinal cavity, which has the effect of reducing the opening of the slot 411, pinching the strand 32 of the bracelet 30 at the slot 411, and introducing the reliefs 412 further into the material of the strand 32. Thus, the strand 32 is held together with the mounting interface 400 once in position in the longitudinal cavity.

[0080] In this example of implementation, the bracelet 30 is advantageously removable from the mounting interface 400 if needed.

[0081] The mounting interface 400 includes elastic locking means 420 for axially locking the mounting interface 400 in the longitudinal cavity. The elastic locking means 420 are formed here by a single central elastic clip 421 configured to cooperate with a central recess in the longitudinal cavity provided for this purpose.

[0082] The central elastic clip 421 is configured to be compressed when the mounting interface 400 is introduced into the longitudinal cavity and to return to its free position once the central elastic clip 421 is positioned opposite the central housing of the longitudinal cavity.

[0083] To disassemble the mounting interface 400, the housing 20 has an opening accessible from the outside. This opening connects to the central recess of the longitudinal cavity. The opening is configured to allow the insertion of a simple, readily available tool, such as the end of a paperclip or a staple, to compress the central elastic clip 421 and deform it until it reaches a compressed position, allowing the mounting interface 400 to be disassembled.

[0084] The mounting interface 400 further includes means 430 for locking the mounting interface 400 in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction XX. The means 430 for locking the mounting interface 400 in a transverse direction are formed by external bearing surfaces 431, 432 cooperating with an undercut portion of the longitudinal cavity to ensure the locking of the mounting interface 400 in the transverse direction.

[0085] The mounting interface 200, 300, 400 according to the invention allows for a quick assembly by elastic snap-fit of the bracelet 30, in a reversible manner, as opposed to an elastic snap-fit system, called irreversible, requiring the destruction or deterioration of the mounting interface for the disassembly of the bracelet 30 from the case 20.

[0086] The 200, 300, 400 mounting interface allows for a stable removable connection of the bracelet, in particular by means of a sliding connection ensuring good stability of the mounting interface in the longitudinal cavity.

[0087] In the present invention, the case 21 of the case 20 does not have any protruding elements for attaching the bracelet 30. As a result, the manufacture of the case 20 can be carried out entirely in an automated manner.

[0088] For example, the case 21 is made of metal or polymer. Advantageously, the case 21 is made of thermoplastic. For example, the case 21 can be made of polyamide 11, also called polyundecanamide or nylon 11.

[0089] The 21 case is advantageously a one-piece case. However, it is also envisaged to produce a case assembled from several parts manufactured separately.

[0090] Advantageously, the polymer case is a one-piece case made by injection.

[0091] The wearable device according to the invention, as well as the strap attachment system described in this application, greatly simplifies the case production process, since the case is free of lugs and is entirely symmetrical. Thus, the manufacture of the case and the mounting interface can be automated. Consequently, the manufacturing costs of such an assembly and wearable device are reduced, particularly by the elimination of rework operations on the case and by the use of a single interface piece for attaching the strap.

[0092] Furthermore, the mounting interface according to the invention simplifies the interchangeability of the bracelets, making it easy to renew the bracelet when it wears out, or to change the aesthetics, with simple handling and without damaging the mounting interface or the case when disassembling the bracelet.

[0093] The invention has been described with a particular embodiment of the case and mounting interfaces. However, it is evident that other embodiments, as well as those derived from those described, are envisaged.
