Description

[0001] The invention relates to a packaging for an article, in particular a foodstuff, and to a packaged article. background

[0002] Packaging is used, for example, to package any item for sale and distribution. This is also known for food packaging, which is packaged for the user, for example, for transport from the point of sale to the point of consumption.

[0003] It has been proposed to produce packaging or packaging containers from a plant-based container material. Palm leaves, for example, are used as the plant-based container material. This is described, for example, in documents DE 20 2017 006 954 U1 and US 10,004,345 B1. Furthermore, it has been proposed to produce disposable tableware or trays from palm leaves (cf. EP 1 438 914 A1, DE 20 2015 105 015 U1). Document DE 39 27 062 C2 also discloses packaging made from a palm leaf material. In one embodiment, a packaging tray is produced in which a container opening is then closed using a plastic film to package the article. The plastic film is placed around a circumferential container rim in such a way that the film is arranged on both the top and bottom sides of the container rim. The plastic film placed around the container rim in this way is intended to adhere by means of adhesion. To design the packaging container, provision may be made for it to be printed. In this context, it is proposed that the blank material for the container be sanded before pressing or cutting and then printed in the desired manner, for example with an inscription. For optical reasons, the lower outer side of the container can also be sanded smooth, so that the container can also be labeled by printing on it. In addition, provision may be made for the entire outer side of the container to be provided with a protective layer before or after the inscription is applied. Documents FR 2 870 212 A1 and DE 298 24 572 U1 disclose box-like packaging with a base part and a lid that can be detachably attached to the base part. Summary

[0004] The object of the invention is to provide a packaging for an article and a packaged article with which the packaging can be flexibly adapted to different articles and thereby supports a safe transport of the packaged article.

[0005] To solve this problem, a packaging for an article according to independent claim 1 is provided. Further embodiments are the subject of dependent subclaims.

[0006] According to one aspect, a packaging for an article is provided, comprising: a three-dimensionally shaped packaging base made of a leaf material of a plant; a container support surface which is formed on the three-dimensionally shaped packaging base and is configured to receive an article to be packaged; a container edge which, as part of the three-dimensionally shaped packaging base, encompasses the container support surface and in doing so forms a corner region between the container support surface and a proximal edge portion of the container edge with respect to the container support surface; and a packaging lid made of a recyclable material, which is designed as a folding lid and in which lateral folding elements are integrally formed on a cover element and are arranged in a folded position to form a receiving space in the packaging lid;wherein the packaging lid is arranged on the container support surface in such a way that the receiving space opens towards the container support surface and, with respect to the cover element, distal edge sections of the lateral folding elements each come to rest in the corner region, so that the packaging lid is fixed on the container support surface in its relative position thereto.;

[0007] According to a further aspect, a packaged article is provided which comprises an article in the form of a food product and a packaging of the aforementioned type, wherein the article is packaged by means of the packaging in such a way that the article is arranged in the region of the container support surface which is formed on the three-dimensionally shaped packaging base and is covered by means of the packaging lid.

[0008] The proposed technology provides sustainable packaging for any item, especially food, that is made at least partially from renewable plant materials. The packaging lid is adapted to the three-dimensional shape of the packaging base by folding the folding lid in such a way that the folding lid, whose lateral folding elements rest in the corner areas of the packaging base, is fixed to the container support surface. Accidental slipping of the packaging lid on the packaging base is effectively prevented.

[0009] The packaging lid can be arranged completely non-adhesive on the packaging base, i.e. free from any adhesive connections between the packaging base and the packaging lid.

[0010] The container support surface can be designed as a substantially flat support surface along the edge of which the corner region is formed.

[0011] The three-dimensionally shaped packaging base can, for example, be a plate or a bowl made of the plant's leaf material. In one embodiment, a surface coating can be provided on the packaging base, particularly in the area of the cover surface or only in the area of the container support surface. A coating made of a plastic or synthetic material can be provided, which is optionally biodegradable.

[0012] A banderol is made of a recyclable material and is designed to secure the packaging lid to the three-dimensionally shaped packaging base. The banderol can also be used to secure the packaging base and lid relative to each other. In various embodiments, the banderol can be made of paper or cardboard, for example. A design made of plant fibers is also possible.

[0013] The band can essentially completely enclose the three-dimensionally shaped packaging base with the packaging lid arranged thereon. The band can be slid onto the arrangement with the packaging base and the packaging lid arranged thereon as a fully circumferential band, so that it can be easily removed by the user when they wish to access the packaged item.

[0014] The band can rest on the three-dimensionally shaped packaging base and the packaging lid without adhesion. "Non-adherent" here specifically means that the band does not adhere to the packaging base and the packaging lid using an adhesive. The use of an adhesive can be provided, for example, in embodiments in which the band does not completely enclose the assembly comprising the packaging base and packaging lid (closed band), but rather ends of the band adhere, for example, to the underside of the packaging base, and the band extends from there around the packaging lid on both sides.

[0015] The corner region can be formed continuously around the container support surface between the container support surface and the proximal edge portion of the container rim. Alternatively, the corner region can be interrupted in one or more sections along the container rim, for example, due to a local recess.

[0016] The distal edge portions of the lateral folding elements can be positioned continuously around the container support surface in the corner area. In this embodiment, the lateral folding elements extend all the way around the container support surface into the corner area, thus enclosing the receiving space within the folding lid.

[0017] Between mutually associated lateral folding elements, which are arranged adjacent to one another along a circumference of the lid element, connecting elements can be arranged to reinforce the folding lid and are each integrally formed onto the associated lateral folding elements. The connecting elements formed between adjacent folding elements can be folded inward toward the receiving space when the lateral folding elements are folded into the folded position to form the folding lid. In particular, corner regions between adjacent lateral folding elements can be additionally stiffened with the aid of the connecting elements, which supports the mechanical stability of the folding lid forming the packaging lid.

[0018] The receiving space can be a closed space if the packaging lid is arranged on the container support surface. In this embodiment, the article to be packaged is arranged and packaged on the container support surface in a closed receiving space.

[0019] The packaging lid can have a viewing window through which the receiving space can be viewed from the outside. The viewing window can be open or closed. To close the viewing window, a transparent plastic material can be attached to the packaging lid in the area of the viewing window, for example, by means of adhesive.

[0020] The viewing window can be located in the area of the lid element. Alternatively or additionally, a viewing window can be provided in the area of one or more lateral folding elements.

[0021] A plurality of container-part support surfaces can be formed on the three-dimensionally shaped packaging base, which are separated from one another on the three-dimensionally shaped packaging base by means of a separating device; and the packaging lid can be formed in multiple pieces with a plurality of separate packaging-part lids, each of which is assigned to a different one of the plurality of container-part support surfaces. This embodiment makes it possible to package a plurality of articles separately using one packaging, for example, food items of a meal that are to be separated from one another. On the one hand, a plurality of container-part support surfaces are formed on the common packaging base, which are separated from one another by means of the separating device. On the other hand, the packaging lid comprises a plurality of separate packaging-part lids, each of which can be designed according to the previously explained design variants. The respective lid then rests on the surrounding corner area of the associated container support surface and thus serves to package an article arranged thereon. The container support surfaces and / or the packaging lids can each be of the same size. Alternatively, different sizes can be provided for the container support surfaces and / or the packaging lids, which allow articles of different sizes to be packaged on the common three-dimensionally shaped packaging base.

[0022] The separating device can have a separating web, with which the corner area is formed along the separating web. The separating web between container support surfaces can be continuous or discontinuous. The separating web can be formed from the sheet material of the packaging base. Alternatively, a separating web can be produced by applying material to the sheet material.

[0023] The band can be designed according to a band design from the following group: a common band for the multiple separate packaging sub-lids and multiple separate bands, each assigned to a different one of the multiple packaging sub-lids. In the case of multiple packaging sub-lids, the bands can be secured to the three-dimensionally shaped packaging base using the common band. Alternatively, multiple separate bands can be used.

[0024] The bottom edge may have a first securing element and / or at least one of the lateral folding elements may have a second securing element. The first securing element and the second securing element may be configured to cooperate to secure the packaging lid to the three-dimensionally shaped packaging base.

[0025] The bottom edge can also have a plurality of first securing elements, in particular two, three, or four first securing elements. It can be provided that two of the first securing elements are arranged at opposite sections of the bottom edge.

[0026] A plurality of second securing elements may be provided on the lateral folding elements. In particular, two, three, or four of the lateral folding elements may each have a second securing element (or a plurality of second securing elements).

[0027] Alternatively, at least one of the lateral folding elements may also have at least one first securing element and the bottom edge may have at least one second securing element.

[0028] The first (or second) securing element can be arranged at (essentially) half the height of the base edge. The first (or second) securing element can be arranged in an upper or lower half of the base edge.

[0029] The first securing element can be formed as a recess (in particular a hole, preferably in the bottom edge) and the second securing element as a projection. The projection can preferably be configured to be received in the recess.

[0030] The recess can be formed so as to completely penetrate the base edge. Alternatively, the recess can be formed as a depression in the base edge, facing the receiving space.

[0031] The recess can be flat or curved. In particular, the recess can be slot-shaped, particularly as a linear slot. However, the recess can also be V-shaped or U-shaped.

[0032] The second securing element can be arranged on a distal folding element (for example, a (paper) flap) that is integrally formed on at least one of the lateral folding elements. The distal folding element can be formed by folding the distal edge portion of the lateral folding element. The second securing element, in particular the projection, can be formed in a plane with the distal folding element.

[0033] The configurations explained above in connection with the packaging can be provided accordingly in connection with the packaged articles. Description of implementation examples

[0034] Further embodiments are explained below with reference to the figures of a drawing. Herein: Fig. 1 shows a schematic representation for producing a packaging for an article; Fig. 2 shows a further schematic representation for producing the packaging for an article from Fig. 1; Fig. 3 schematic perspective representations of packaging in which the packaging lid and packaging base are secured by means of a banderol; Fig. 4 schematic perspective representations of packaging with a banderol, wherein a viewing window is provided in the packaging lid; Fig. 5 schematic perspective representations of packaging without a banderol; Fig. 6 a schematic representation of packaging with several packaging part lids that are secured to a common packaging base by means of a banderol; Fig. 7 schematic representations of packaging lids in the unfolded state; Fig. 8 a schematic perspective representation of a packaging base with a first securing element and a packaging lid with a second securing element; Fig. 9 a schematic representation for producing the packaging for an article using additional securing elements; Fig.Fig. 10 shows a schematic representation of an arrangement of the packaging lid and packaging base, including securing elements, in various perspectives; Fig. 11 shows schematic representations of packaging including securing elements, with the packaging base and packaging lid having a round, triangular, square, or rectangular base; and Fig. 12 shows schematic representations of packaging including securing elements, with additional viewing windows provided.

[0035] Fig. 1 shows a schematic perspective view of a three-dimensionally shaped packaging base 1, which consists of a leaf material of a plant.

[0036] The packaging base 1 forms a receptacle for an article (not shown) in the region of a base receiving or support surface 2, for example, for holding a food item. The support surface 2 is surrounded by a base edge 3, which, in the illustrated embodiment, extends obliquely upwards from the support surface 2. A corner region 5 is formed circumferentially between the support surface 2 and a proximal edge section 4 of the base edge 3 with respect to the support surface 2.

[0037] To form a package, the packaging base 1 is assigned a packaging lid 6, which according to Fig. 1 by means of folding lateral folding elements 7, which are arranged along a peripheral edge 8 of a lid element 9, to form a folding lid 10, which in Fig. 2By folding the lateral folding elements 7 along the edge 8, which can be provided with folding lines, a receiving space 11 is created inside the folding lid 10, which opens towards the base support surface 2 when the folding lid 10, as shown in Fig. 2 shown, is arranged on the packaging base 1, such that distal edge sections 12 of the lateral folding elements 7 come to rest in the corner area 5, so that the packaging lid 6 is fixed in its relative position with respect to the base support surface 2. The packaging lid 6 can then no longer slip laterally on the base support surface 2. For additional securing of the arrangement with packaging base 1 and packaging lid 6, in the embodiment in Fig. 2 a banderole 13 is provided which encompasses the packaging base 1 and the packaging lid 6 arranged thereon.

[0038] According to Fig. 1Between adjacent lateral folding elements 7, connecting elements 14 are provided, which are integrally formed on the adjacent lateral folding elements and fold inwards when folded, so that they form a connection between the folding lid 10 (cf. Fig. 2 ) are no longer visible. The connecting elements 14 support the rigidity and thus the mechanical stability of the packaging lid 6.

[0039] In the various embodiments, the connecting elements 14 can have an adhesive on the surface at least in some areas, for example an adhesive, so that at least the adjacent connecting elements 14 can be designed to adhere to one another when they come into contact with one another.

[0040] Packaging lid 6 and / or banderol 13 are made of a recyclable material, for example paper or cardboard.

[0041] Fig. 3 and 4show further embodiments for the packaging with packaging base 1 and packaging lid 6 as well as banderole 13, wherein in the embodiments in Fig. 4 in the region of the cover element 9, a viewing window 15 is formed by means of an opening in the cover element 9, which viewing window can be open or closed, wherein a closed window can be covered, for example, with the aid of a transparent (recyclable) plastic material.

[0042] Fig. 5 shows packaging without additional security by means of the banderol 13, whereby the packaging base 1 and packaging lid 6 have a round or triangular base.

[0043] Fig. 6shows schematic perspective representations of other packages in which base support surfaces 2a, 2b are formed on the three-dimensionally shaped package base 1, which are separated from one another by a separating web 16. Packaging part lids 6a, 6b are assigned to the container receiving surfaces 2a, 2b and arranged thereon in such a way that the distal edge section 10 rests in the corner region 5.

[0044] Fig. 7 shows further embodiments for the packaging lid 6 with lateral folding elements 7 in the unfolded state.

[0045] Fig. 8shows a schematic perspective representation of a packaging base 1 with first securing elements 17 and a packaging lid 6 with second securing elements 18. The first securing elements 17 are formed as recesses 19 in the base edge 3 and the second securing elements 18 as projections 20, which are each configured to engage in the recesses 19 and / or to be received in the recesses 19.

[0046] The projections 20 are each arranged on distal folding elements 21, which are each integrally formed on one of the lateral folding elements 7. The distal folding elements 21 can be formed by folding the distal edge portion 12 of the respective lateral folding element 7. The projections 20 each extend at the distal ends of the distal folding elements 21.

[0047] Fig. 9shows a schematic representation for producing the packaging for an article by means of additional securing elements 17, 18. The folded packaging lid 6 is joined to the packaging base 1 in such a way that the projections 20 engage in the recesses 19 and the packaging lid 6 is secured to the packaging base 1 in this way.

[0048] Fig. 10 shows a schematic representation of an arrangement of packaging lid 6 and packaging base 1 including securing elements 17, 18 in different perspectives.

[0049] Fig. 11 shows packaging including securing elements 17, 18, wherein the packaging base 1 and packaging lid 6 have a round, triangular, square or rectangular base area and / or several base part support surfaces / container receiving parts 2a, 2b.

[0050] Fig. 12 shows packaging including security elements 17, 18, with additional viewing windows 15 being provided.

[0051] The features disclosed in the above description, the claims and the drawings may be important for the realization of the various embodiments both individually and in any combination.
