Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to an arrangement comprising a container and a tamper-evident device.
[0002] Such containers are generally used for storing goods, especially liquids. The container generally has an opening through which the stored goods can be removed from or added to the container. The opening can be sealed with a closure and secured against unauthorized access with a tamper-evident seal.
[0003] In particular, such arrangements with containers can be part of a withdrawal system.
[0004] Such a withdrawal system is known from EP 0 977 702 B1. This withdrawal system is used for filling and emptying containers, in particular barrels, filled with liquid chemicals. The containers each have a dip tube through which liquids stored in the container can be withdrawn and through which liquids can be supplied to the container. The withdrawal system has a withdrawal head that is connected to the dip tube of the respective container.
[0005] The extraction head then extracts liquid from the container or, if necessary, adds liquid to it. A pump is connected to the extraction head to extract or add liquid.
[0006] The liquids stored in the containers are typically liquid specialty chemicals.
[0007] On the one hand, these specialty chemicals require a high level of purity, meaning that contaminants must be kept away from them. Furthermore, these specialty chemicals can contain hazardous substances, so uncontrolled leakage of liquid must be avoided for this reason alone.
[0008] These requirements also apply particularly to the transport of containers. After filling or emptying a container, the dispensing head is removed. The container is then sealed with a cap. As tamper protection, a tamper-evident seal is then applied to the dip tube, which is then sealed with the cap.
[0009] Common tamper-evident devices feature two hinged half-shells that are placed on the dip tube, then folded together, and sealed with a seal. This means the container can only be opened by breaking the seal, which allows for the detection of unauthorized opening.
[0010] A disadvantage of this type of tamper-evident seal is that it protrudes far beyond the top of the dip tube. When handling the containers, especially when stacking them, the tamper-evident seal can therefore easily be torn off. Another disadvantage is that if the tamper-evident seal is opened and the seal is broken, its individual parts can fall out uncontrollably and come into contact with the liquid in a container or its surroundings.
[0011] EP 0 327 373 A2 relates to a tamper-evident container closure according to the preamble of claim 1.
[0012] The container closure comprises a closure part that can be screwed into a container opening. To prevent unauthorized opening, a leaf-shaped element is provided between the internal thread of the container opening and the external thread of the closure part. The leaf-shaped element deforms if the closure part is opened without authorization, thereby preventing it from opening automatically.
[0013] EP 0 977 702 A1 describes a container closure for filling and emptying containers, in particular barrel-shaped transport containers, which can be interchangeably inserted into a container opening that can accommodate a bung head. The container closure has a riser pipe connected to the bung head and a withdrawal connection element, the latter being lockable to the bung head by means of a pin coding system comprising coding pins and matching coding recesses. The coding pins are attached to a first securing part, and the coding recesses are attached to a second securing part. One of the securing parts is designed as an annular disc, which can be loosely mounted separately on the modularly designed withdrawal connection element in a strip-proof manner. The other securing part is integrated into the bung head. The container closure prevents confusion of chemicals, allows simultaneous liquid extraction and ventilation, and can be connected to commercially available containers or drums while ensuring compliance with the regulations for hazardous goods approvals.
[0014] US 10 926 923 B2 relates to a safety device for a container closure. When a closure part is detached from a container opening, a mechanical connecting element is broken.
[0015] IT 2018 0000 2951 A1 concerns a mechanical securing device for a container closure.
[0016] US 5 497 906 A relates to a safety device for a container closure in which a container opening is closed with a cap.
[0017] A safety element is present which changes from a safety state to a visible use state when the cap is removed.
[0018] US 2012 / 0067922 A1 relates to a closure mechanism comprising a base part and a lid. The base part includes a spout as a securing means.
[0019] US Patent No. 3,263,874 A relates to a cap as a closure for a container. To prevent unauthorized opening, a sealing element is provided that is detached during the opening process.
[0020] The invention is based on the object of providing improved tamper protection for containers of the type mentioned above.
[0021] To achieve this object, the features of claim 1 are provided. Advantageous embodiments and expedient developments of the invention are described in the dependent claims.
[0022] The invention relates to an arrangement comprising a container with a container opening through which a stored item can be fed into or removed from the container. The container opening can be closed with a closure means and secured with a tamper-evident device. The tamper-evident device comprises a security body with a lower part and an upper part movably mounted on the lower part, as well as a seal. This is mounted on the security body attached to the immersion tube. When the tamper-evident device is detached, a relative movement occurs between the upper and lower parts, whereby a segment of the seal is severed and fed into a collecting chamber in the lower part. The upper part of the security body is rotatably mounted on the lower part.
[0023] According to a first variant of the invention, a dip tube is mounted in the container, to which a dispensing head of a dispensing system can be connected. To supply or remove a liquid forming the stored product from the container, the dip tube can be closed and secured with a tamper-evident seal when the dispensing head is removed.
[0024] The container according to the invention thus has a dip tube to which a withdrawal head of a withdrawal system can be connected in order to supply liquid to or withdraw liquid from the container.
[0025] The container forms a transportable unit. To protect against tampering, the container is sealed and secured with a tamper-evident device. The tamper-evident device according to the invention comprises a security body with a lower part, which serves for attachment to the dip tube, and an upper part, which is movably mounted relative to the lower part.
[0026] To prevent tampering, the upper and lower parts of the security body are connected with a seal.
[0027] According to the invention, the tamper-evident device is designed such that, in order to open the tamper-evident device, the upper part necessarily performs a relative movement with respect to the lower part such that the seal is destroyed, i.e., broken. This provides protection against tampering, since the broken seal immediately indicates that an attempt has been made to open the tamper-evident device, particularly without authorization, and that unauthorized access to the container has been gained.
[0028] According to the invention, a collecting chamber is provided in the lower part of the security body. When the tamper-evident seal is released, the relative movement between the upper and lower parts causes a segment of the seal to detach and be collected in the collecting chamber. This prevents uncontrolled detachment of the seal segment, particularly unwanted contact of the segment with the liquid in a container, thereby increasing the functionality of the tamper-evident seal and thus of the container secured with the tamper-evident seal.
[0029] Advantageously, the seal has an upper segment and a lower segment, wherein, when the tamper-evident device is attached to the immersion tube, the upper segment of the seal is mounted in a receptacle of the upper part and the lower segment of the seal projects into the area of the collecting space.
[0030] If an attempt is made to open the tamper-evident seal while the seal is still mounted on the security body, the relative movement between the upper and lower sections causes the lower segment to detach and be trapped in the collection chamber. The upper segment remains in the holder, preventing any uncontrolled escape of the upper segment of the seal.
[0031] Advantageously, the receptacle is formed by a recess on the top side of the upper part.
[0032] The edge of the upper segment of the seal lies close to the edge of the upper part that borders the recess.
[0033] This ensures that the upper segment of the seal is sufficiently secured in the holder so that it remains on the upper part if the seal is destroyed.
[0034] Advantageously, during the relative movement of the upper part relative to the lower part, the lower segment is guided against a mechanical separating means and is thereby separated from the upper segment.
[0035] The mechanical separation means is advantageously formed by a stop that projects into the collecting space.
[0036] In particular, the stop is formed by a bridge in the lower part.
[0037] This ensures a structurally very simple and at the same time reliable separation of the lower segment of the seal in the event of a relative movement of the upper part to the lower part.
[0038] According to an advantageous embodiment, an outlet opening is provided on the lateral surface of the lower part, through which the separated lower segment of the seal can be removed. In the extended position of the upper part relative to the lower part, the collecting space opens out at the outlet opening. In the locked position, a locking segment on the underside of the upper part blocks the outlet opening.
[0039] This means that, after the security body has been removed from the immersion tube, a detached lower segment of the seal can be removed via the outlet opening and disposed of in a controlled manner by turning the upper part into an ejection position.
[0040] According to a first variant, the immersion tube can be closed with a cap. The tamper-evident seal can be applied to the immersion tube closed with the cap.
[0041] The closure and the tamper-evident device then form separate units.
[0042] According to another variant, the tamper-evident device forms a closure means for the immersion tube.
[0043] The tamper evidence therefore not only fulfils the function of tamper protection, but also forms the closure for the immersion tube, so that in this case no separate closure for the immersion tube is necessary.
[0044] Advantageously, the lower part of the securing body has fixing means for fixing to the immersion tube.
[0045] These fixing devices are adapted to the fastening devices on the dip tube, which are also used to attach the sampling head.
[0046] According to the invention, the upper part of the fuse body is rotatably mounted on the lower part.
[0047] The extraction head is preferably screwed onto the dip tube. Then, the tamper-evident seal is conveniently screwed onto the dip tube. The fixing means for this purpose are formed by an external thread.
[0048] The securing body can then be screwed with the external thread on the lower part to an internal thread of the immersion tube, which also advantageously serves to fix the extraction head.
[0049] The upper and lower parts are arranged coaxially along a common axial axis of symmetry, with the upper and lower parts being essentially rotationally symmetrical to this axis of symmetry. This axis of symmetry also forms the axis of rotation around which the upper part can be rotated relative to the lower part. This rotation inevitably occurs when the tamper-evident seal is to be unscrewed from the immersion tube, which inevitably destroys the seal and thus provides reliable tamper protection.
[0050] According to a structurally advantageous embodiment, the upper part is circular disc-shaped, the edge regions of which rest on the upper edge of the dip tube when the tamper-evident device is attached to the dip tube.
[0051] It is advantageous that the lower part is a rotationally symmetrical hollow body, at the top of which the collecting space opens out and that the upper part mounted on the lower part protrudes with its edge region beyond the lateral surface of the lower part in the radial direction.
[0052] When the tamper-evident seal is mounted on the dip tube, only the flat upper part protrudes above the upper edge of the dip tube. This is advantageous because the tamper-evident seal does not interfere with the handling of a container, and there is no risk of it being torn off the container.
[0053] According to a second variant of the invention, the closure means can be fixed in the container opening. The tamper-evident seal is a component of the closure means.
[0054] The container can be used to store hazardous substances such as special chemicals, which are preferably in liquid form.
[0055] The container can in particular be designed in the form of a barrel.
[0056] Advantageously, the closure means comprises a closure body that can be fixed in the container opening. The closure body has a central, hollow-cylindrical receptacle extending axially through it, in which the tamper-evident security body can be mounted.
[0057] The security body forming the tamper-evident device thus forms a component of the closure device.
[0058] In principle, the closure element can be fixed in the container opening by means of a sliding movement. The securing element can then be secured in the closure element by means of a sliding movement.
[0059] It is particularly advantageous that the closure body can be fixed to the container opening by means of a screw connection.
[0060] According to a structurally advantageous embodiment, a hollow cylindrical extension with an external thread protrudes from the top of the container, which defines the container opening. The closure body can be fixed to the extension.
[0061] For this purpose, the closure body has a hollow cylindrical side wall. On the inside, an internal thread is provided that can be screwed onto the external thread of the container.
[0062] Corresponding to the screw connection between the container opening and the closure body, an external thread is provided on the outside of the lower part of the safety body, which can be screwed into an internal thread of the closure body that limits the receptacle.
[0063] Advantageously, when the safety body is mounted in the bore of the bolt body, its upper part is exposed on the top side of the bolt body.
[0064] An external thread is provided on the outside of the lower part of the safety body, which can be screwed into an internal thread of the locking body that limits the receptacle.
[0065] A completely tight, gas-tight connection between the closure body and the fuse body can then be achieved in a simple manner by providing a seal on the underside of the edge area of the upper part, which seals the seam to the closure body.
[0066] Advantageously, the seal is formed by a sealing ring running in the circumferential direction of the securing body.
[0067] According to an advantageous embodiment, receptacles are provided on the upper side of the upper part of the securing body, on which an actuating means can be mounted in a rotationally secure manner.
[0068] In the event that the container is a barrel, the actuating means is advantageously designed as a barrel key.
[0069] The actuating means or barrel key is used to close or open the container opening using the locking means.
[0070] The mechanism for opening the container opening is such that when the actuating device is first activated, the upper part is rotated against the lower part of the security body, thereby separating the lower segment of the seal. Upon further actuation of the actuating device, the closure element is unscrewed from the container opening.
[0071] This makes the tamper-evident closure tamper-proof.
[0072] The invention is explained below with reference to the drawings. They show: Figure 1: Schematic representation of a withdrawal system with an associated container. Figure 2a: Dip tube of the container with an associated closure. Figure 2b: Dip tube according to Figure 2awith inserted closure. Figure 8: Sectional view of the arrangement according to Figure 7 . Figure 9: Individual view of the fuse body of the arrangement of Figures 7 and 8. Figure 10: Sectional view of the fuse body according to Figure 9Figure 11: Representation of the fuse body according to the Figures 9 and 10 with an assigned barrel key.
[0073] Figure 1 shows a schematic of a withdrawal system 1. The withdrawal system 1 comprises a withdrawal head 2, which can be attached to a container 3, which can in particular be barrel-shaped. A liquid is stored in the container 3. Liquids stored in such containers 3 are in particular liquid specialty chemicals.
[0074] The container 3 has a dip tube 4. The dip tube 4 is mounted in a bung head 5, which is located in a container opening of the container 3, and is thus firmly connected to the container 3. The longitudinal axis of the dip tube 4 runs in the vertical direction.
[0075] The extraction head 2 serves to extract liquids from the container 3. It can also be used to fill containers 3. For this purpose, the extraction head 2 has a liquid connection 2a at its upper end. A line 6 leading to a pump 7 is connected to this liquid connection 2a. The line 6 can be designed in the form of a hose.
[0076] The pump 7 is controlled by a control unit not shown.
[0077] The container 3 forms a transportable unit. For transport of the container 3, the immersion tube 4 is secured as shown in the Figures 2a to 2dshown there. As shown there, the dip tube 4 has a head part 4a, to the underside of which a tube body 4b is connected. In order to secure the container 3 for transport, when the removal head 2 is removed from the dip tube 4, a closure 8 is inserted into the head part 4a of the dip tube 4 and fixed there, in particular by screwing ( Figures 2a, 2b ).
[0078] A tamper-evident seal 9 is applied to the thus closed immersion tube 4 ( Figures 2c, 2d ). First, a security body 10 of the tamper-evident device 9 is attached to the head part 4a of the immersion tube 4, preferably by a screw connection ( Figure 2c ). Then a seal 11 is attached to the security body 10 of the tamper-evident device 9, preferably by snapping it into a hole 19 in the security body 10 ( Figures 2c and 2d). The tamper-evident device 9 thus formed provides protection against tampering, since the container 3 can only be opened if the seal 11 has been broken beforehand.
[0079] The Figures 3a, 3b show the individual components of the tamper-evident device 9 according to the invention, Figure 4 shows the assembled tamper evidence 9.
[0080] The seal 11 has a rotationally symmetrical, essentially mushroom-shaped geometry. The seal 11 has a circular disk-shaped upper segment 11a and an adjoining lower segment 11b. The diameter of the upper segment 11a is considerably larger than the diameter of the lower segment 11b.
[0081] The fuse body 10 consists of an upper part 12 forming a cover part and a lower part 13 forming a base part, both of which have a rotationally symmetrical contour.
[0082] The upper part 12 essentially has the shape of a circular disk, from the underside of which a projection 14 with locking means 14a protrudes. The projection 14 can be locked into an arrangement of the lower part 13. The fuse body 10 is thus assembled. The projection 14 forms a pivot bearing, so that the upper part 12 can be rotated relative to the lower part 13 about an axis of rotation running in the axial direction of rotation of the fuse body 10.
[0083] Furthermore, a locking segment 16 protrudes from the underside of the upper part 12 and extends over an angular area of the upper part 12.
[0084] On the outside of the lower part 13 there is an external thread 17 with which the safety body 10 can be screwed into the immersion tube 4. The recess 18 on the underside of the lower part 13 serves to accommodate the closure 8 of the immersion tube 4.
[0085] The upper part 12 of the security body 10 has a bore 19 into which the lower segment 11b of the seal 11 can be inserted. The bore 19 lies in a recess 20 on the upper side of the upper part 12, which forms a receptacle for the upper segment of the seal 11. The upper segment 11a is mounted in the recess 20 with minimal play ( Figures 2d and 4 ). The lower segment 11b of the seal 11 projects into a collecting chamber 21 of the lower part 13 of the security body 10.
[0086] Webs 22, which are provided on the lower part 13, protrude into this collecting space 21.
[0087] An outlet opening 23 is provided on the outer surface of the lower part 13 ( Figures 5a to 5e Depending on the rotational position of the upper part 12 relative to the lower part 13, the collecting chamber 21 opens out at the outlet opening 23 or the blocking segment 16 blocks the outlet opening 23.
[0088] In order to secure the container 3 for transport 4, the closure 8 is attached to the dip tube 4 ( Figures 2a, 2b ) and then the tamper-evident device 9 is attached to the immersion tube 4 ( Figures 2c, 2d ).
[0089] When the tamper-evident device 9 is attached to the immersion tube 4, the upper part 12 of the security body 10 rests on the upper edge of the head part 4a of the immersion tube 4, while the lower part 13 of the security body 10 lies completely in the head part 4a of the immersion tube 4 ( Figure 4 ). How Figure 4 further shows, the upper segment of the seal 11 lies in the recess 20 on the upper part 12, while the lower segment of the seal 11 protrudes into the collecting space 21 of the lower part 13. This situation also shows Figure 5a .
[0090] To open the container 3, the security body 10 must first be unscrewed from the head section 4a of the immersion tube 4. To do so, an operator rotates the upper part 12 of the security body 10 in the opening direction. Since the upper part 12 is rotatably mounted on the lower part 13, only the upper part 12 is rotated initially, until the lower segment 11b of the seal 11 rests against one of the webs 22 ( Figure 5b ).
[0091] If the upper part 12 is then rotated further, the lower segment 11b is separated at the edge of the web 22, ie the web 22 forms a mechanical separation means with a tear-off edge. Figure 5c shows the separated lower segment 11b of the seal 11. If the upper part 12 is then rotated further, the locking segment 16 rests against the webs 22, so that if the upper part 12 is rotated further, the lower part 13 is also rotated and the security body 10 is thereby unscrewed from the head part 4a of the immersion tube 4.
[0092] The Figures 5d, 5e show the safety body 10 unscrewed from the immersion tube 4. The upper part 12 is then, as in Figure 5d shown, rotated relative to the lower part 13, so that in an extended position the collecting space 21 opens at the outlet opening 23. Then the lower segment 11b of the seal 11, as in Figure 5e shown, discharged via the outlet opening 23 and disposed of in a controlled manner.
[0093] The Figures 6 to 11 show a variant of the arrangement according to the invention. This arrangement has a barrel 24 for holding a stored item, in particular liquids ( Figure 6 ). On the top side of the barrel 24 there is a container opening in the form of a hollow cylindrical extension 25 with an external thread 31 protruding from the top side of the barrel 24. On this extension 25, as the Figures 6 and 7 show a closure means 27 to be screwed on.
[0094] The closure means 27 comprises a closure body 28 in the form of a lid. On the inside of the cylindrical side wall of the closure body 28 is an internal thread 29, with which the closure body 28 can be screwed onto the extension 25.
[0095] The closure body 28 has a central hollow cylindrical receptacle 30 extending in the axial direction, in which the security body 10 forming the tamper-evident device 9 is mounted.
[0096] The fuse body 10 has a substantially similar shape to the fuse body 10 of the Figures 3 to 5corresponding structure. Accordingly, the securing body 10 has an upper part 12 and a lower part 13 rotatably mounted in the upper part 12. The pivoting is again effected by the extension 14. The lower part 13 has an external thread 31, which is screwed into an internal thread 32 of the hollow cylindrical extension 25, whereby the securing body 10 is fixed to the closure body 28 ( Figure 8 ).
[0097] The edge of the upper part 12, which projects beyond the lower part 13 in the axial direction, rests on the closure body 28. A sealing ring 33 extends circumferentially along the underside of one edge of the upper part 12 and provides a gas-tight seal at the interface between the securing body 10 and the closure body 28.
[0098] According to the fuse body 10 of the Figures 3 to 5 The fuse body 10 of the Figures 8 to 11a seal 11 which has an upper segment 11a resting on the upper side of the upper part 12 and an adjoining lower segment 11b, the diameter of which is again considerably smaller than that of the upper segment.
[0099] The lower segment 11b of the seal 11 projects through an opening in the upper part 12 into a collecting space 21, which is open on the upper side of the lower part 13 facing the upper part 12. Analogous to the embodiment of the Figures 3 to 5 Webs 22 provided on the lower part 13.
[0100] The structure of the fuse body 10 also corresponds to the Figures 8 to 10 the embodiment according to the Figures 5a to 5e .
[0101] As can be seen from the Figures 8 to 11 As can be seen, four identical recesses 34 are provided on the upper side of the upper part 12 of the securing body 10, each arranged offset by 90° to one another.
[0102] These recesses 34 form receptacles for fixing an actuating means in the form of a barrel key 35 ( Figure 11 ). The barrel key 35 has four identical projections 36, each offset by 90° to one another, opening outwardly on its underside, corresponding to the recesses 34. The contours of the projections 36 are adapted to the contours of the recesses 34. To fix the barrel key 35 to the safety body 10, the projections of the barrel key 35 are inserted into the recesses 34 of the safety body 10, where they are mounted with minimal play.
[0103] When the barrel key 35 is fixed to the safety body 10, the closure means 27 can be fixed or released in the container opening by turning the barrel key 35.
[0104] If the closure means 27 is fixed to the container opening, it is protected against tampering by the security body 10 forming the tamper-evident device 9. If the closure means 27 is opened by turning the barrel key 35 fixed to the security body 10, the upper part 12 initially rotates against the lower part 13 of the security body 10, whereby, according to the Figures 5a to 5e , the lower segment 11b is separated from the upper segment 11a of the seal 11 and is received in the collecting chamber 21. By further turning the barrel key 35, the closure means 27, ie the closure body 28 with the security body 10, is then unscrewed from the container opening.
[0105] According to the embodiments of the Figures 5a to 5eAfter unscrewing the locking means 27, the security body 10 can be unscrewed around the locking body 28. Then the upper part 12 can be rotated relative to the lower part 13 of the security body 10 so that the lower segment covers the seal 11, as shown in Figure 5e shown, discharged via the outlet opening 23 and disposed of in a controlled manner.
