Description

[0001] The invention relates to a recreational vehicle with a foldable flap and at least one hinge. Specifically, the invention relates to the field of recreational vehicles designed as mobile homes.

[0002] DE 20 2007 018 286 U1 discloses a motorhome with a horizontally divided tailgate arrangement. This known tailgate arrangement provides access to a cargo area within the motorhome. An upper segment of the tailgate arrangement can be pivoted about a first pivot axis at the top. The lower segment can be pivoted about a pivot axis provided at the bottom of the upper segment. The segments of the known tailgate arrangement can be opened in the same pivot direction.

[0003] US 2022 / 170306 A1 discloses a fitting near a hinge for a fold-down flap.

[0004] EP 2 078 811 A2 discloses a multi-joint hinge for a flap of a recreational vehicle which is not folded down, wherein the gas pressure spring has bearing axes at its ends which are attached to the support part and to the connecting part.

[0005] US 2007 / 152471 A1 discloses a hinge for a folded-down flap of a recreational vehicle, in which the gas pressure spring has bearing axes at its ends which are fastened to the connecting part and to the vehicle body.

[0006] The object of the invention is to provide a recreational vehicle, in particular a mobile home, a fold-down flap for a recreational vehicle and a hinge for a fold-down flap of a recreational vehicle, which have an improved design and mode of operation.

[0007] The object is achieved by a hinge having the features of patent claim 1, a fold-down flap having the features of patent claim 8, and a recreational vehicle having the features of patent claim 10. Advantageous developments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

[0008] The object is achieved by a hinge for a fold-down flap, in particular a walk-in flap and / or a tailgate, of a recreational vehicle, in particular a mobile home, with a bearing axis on which a support part is mounted on a connecting part, wherein the connecting part is connectable at least indirectly to the flap, wherein a first gas pressure spring bearing axis is provided on the support part, on which a gas pressure spring can be mounted on the support part, wherein a second gas pressure spring bearing axis is provided on the connecting part, on which the gas pressure spring can be mounted on the connecting part, wherein a support surface is configured on the support part, on which the connecting part is supported when the flap is folded down, and wherein the support surface is configured such thatthat a maximum lever length of the support of the connecting part on the support part, given relative to the bearing axis by the support surface when the flap is opened, is at least approximately at least as large as a lever length of the gas pressure spring on the first gas pressure spring bearing axis, given relative to the bearing axis.

[0009] Furthermore, the object is achieved by a fold-down flap, in particular a walk-through flap and / or a tailgate, of a recreational vehicle, in particular a mobile home, having at least one, preferably two, such hinges. Furthermore, the object is achieved by a recreational vehicle, in particular a mobile home, having at least one such fold-down flap.

[0010] It is advantageous that the support surface has a recess through which an element of the gas spring extends. The element can in particular be a rod of the gas spring. As a result, the maximum lever length of the support surface can advantageously be designed such that the maximum lever length of the support of the connecting part on the support part, given by the support surface relative to the bearing axis, when the flap is folded open, is at least as large as or even greater than the lever length of the gas spring on the first gas spring bearing axis relative to the bearing axis. It is particularly advantageous here that the support surface encompasses the element of the gas spring in a U-shape. This enables a robust and wear-resistant design of the support surface. On the other hand, easy assembly and disassembly of the gas spring can be made possible and at the same time a large swivel range for the gas spring can be ensured.

[0011] It is advantageous that the connecting part comprises a base body and a support plate, that the support plate is inserted into recesses in the base body and / or connected to the base body by welding, and that the connecting part is supported by the support plate on the support surface of the support part when the flap is folded down. The support plate can be dimensioned to ensure reliable and low-wear support. Inserting and / or connecting the support plate to the base body also enables weight savings and reduced manufacturing costs.

[0012] Another advantage is that the welds used to weld the support plate to the base body are only provided on the side of the support plate facing away from the support surface. This minimizes any leverage forces that may occur.

[0013] It is advantageous that the base body has flat supports between which the support plate is at least partially arranged, and that the distance between the flat supports is at least approximately equal to the total width of the support surface between the flat supports. This allows the force and leverage ratios to be further optimized.

[0014] It is advantageous that the connecting part is connected, in particular screwed, to the tailgate's longitudinal members when assembled. Thus, the hinge can advantageously be provided as an assembly that is mounted to the tailgate and the recreational vehicle during the assembly process.

[0015] Another advantage is that the inside of the folded-down hatch forms a walkway extension when installed. This allows for additional space when the recreational vehicle is parked. The heavy-duty hinge allows for walking over the folded-down hatch.

[0016] Further advantages and details of the invention are explained in more detail with reference to the exemplary embodiment illustrated in the schematic figures. Herein: Fig. 1 shows a recreational vehicle with a foldable, walk-in tailgate in a schematic, spatial representation according to an embodiment, wherein the tailgate is folded down and a view from the rear is shown; Fig. 2 shows the tailgate of the Fig. 1 shown recreational vehicle in a schematic, spatial representation from the rear, showing an internal construction and in particular omitting a panel and attachments; Fig. 3 in Fig. 2 shown tailgate in an excerpt in the area of a hinge from the direction of view marked I; Fig. 4 a detail of the Fig. 3 shown tailgate in the area of the hinge in a schematic, spatial representation, wherein the tailgate is folded down and a connecting part is indicated; and Fig. 5 the in Fig. 4 shown section, showing the connecting part.

[0017] Fig. 1 shows a recreational vehicle 1 in a schematic, spatial representation according to an exemplary embodiment. The recreational vehicle 1 can be designed, in particular, as a mobile home. The recreational vehicle 1 has a flap 2, which is designed as a tailgate 2. Here, the flap 2 is configured as a walk-in flap 2 or a walk-in tailgate 2. In this exemplary embodiment, a further flap 2' is also provided, which can be folded upwards.

[0018] Fig. 2 shows the Fig. 1 The tailgate 2 shown in the folded-up state is shown in a schematic, three-dimensional representation, with trim elements and the like not shown. The tailgate 2 has hinges 3, 3', with which the tailgate 2 is attached to a frame of the recreational vehicle 1. The hinges 3, 3' allow the tailgate 2 to be folded down and, at the same time, support the tailgate 2 under load. The design of the hinges 3, 3' is described in detail with reference to the hinge 3.

[0019] Fig. 3 shows the tailgate 2 in an excerpted, schematic representation from the Fig. 1 und 2 direction of view designated I. Furthermore, the design of the flap 2 or the hinge 3 with respect to the Fig. 4 and 5 described. Fig. 4 shows a detail of the hinge 3, with certain elements indicated. Fig. 5 shows that in Fig. 4shown detail, with the elements shown.

[0020] The hinge 3 has a bearing axis 4, on which pivoting is realized between a support part 5 and a connecting part 6. The support part 5 is mounted on the connecting part 6 via the bearing axis 4. The connecting part 6 is connected to the flap 2.

[0021] A first gas spring bearing axis 7 is provided on the support part 5, on which a gas spring 8 is mounted on one side. Furthermore, a second gas spring bearing axis 9 is provided on the connecting part 6, on which the gas spring 8 is mounted on the other side.

[0022] In the assembled state, the support part 5 is connected, in particular screwed, to a frame of the recreational vehicle 1 at connection points 10, of which the connection point 10 is shown as an example. This allows the weight of the tailgate 2 to be supported via the hinge 3 and the support part 5.

[0023] A support surface 15 is formed on the support part 5. The support surface 15 serves to support the tailgate 2 in the folded-down state. For this purpose, the connecting part 6 comes into contact with the support part 5 on the support surface 15. Since the tailgate 2 is accessible, high forces must be supported. To limit these high forces, the support surface 15 is designed such that a maximum lever length 16 is relatively large. The maximum lever length 16 of the support of the connecting part 6 on the support part 5, defined relative to the bearing axis 4 by the support surface 15 when the tailgate 2 is folded down, is at least as large as the lever length 17 of the gas pressure spring 8 on the first gas pressure spring bearing axis 7, defined relative to the bearing axis 4.

[0024] Furthermore, symmetrical and thus force-balanced support is enabled. For this purpose, the support surface 15 is provided with a recess 20 through which an element 21, in particular a push rod 21, of the gas spring 8 extends. The recess 20 results in a U-shaped configuration of the support surface 15, which encompasses the element 21 of the gas spring 8. This enables symmetrical support on the support surface 15. Furthermore, an advantageous force transmission via the element 21 of the gas spring 8 to the support part 5 is achieved.

[0025] In this exemplary embodiment, the connecting part 6 has a base body 25 and a support plate 26. The support plate 26 serves to support the support surface 15 of the support part 5. The support plate 26 is inserted at its ends into recesses 27, 28 in the base body 25. In addition, the support plate 26 is welded to the base body 25. This prevents notch forces. Furthermore, the weld seams 29, 30 are only provided on the side 31 of the support plate 26 facing away from the support surface 15. The other side 32 of the support plate 26, with which the support plate 26 comes into contact with the support surface 15, is free of weld seams. However, the support plate 26 can be welded to the base body 25 from the outside in the region of the recesses 27, 28. This results in advantageous geometric conditions and reduced forces on the components involved in hinge 3.

[0026] In this exemplary embodiment, the forces and mechanical stresses occurring in the components on the hinge 3 are further reduced. In this exemplary embodiment, the base body 25 has flat supports 35, 36. The support plate 26 is partially arranged between the flat supports 35, 36 and, at its ends, is additionally inserted into recesses 27, 28 in the flat supports 35, 36. The distance 37 between the flat supports 35, 36 is approximately equal to the total width 38 of the support surface 15 between the flat supports 35, 36. For a given total width 38 of the support surface 15, this results in a minimal distance 37 between the flat supports 35, 36. This results in optimized force and leverage ratios, which in particular reduce mechanical stresses in the components.

[0027] In this exemplary embodiment, the tailgate 2 is connected to the connecting part 6 via longitudinal members 40, 41 of the tailgate 2. This is preferably achieved by a screw connection, with a screw 42 being identified as an example.

[0028] Thus, a high load can be supported on the tailgate 2 via the hinges 3, 3'. In this exemplary embodiment, the tailgate 2, when folded down, allows for an extension of the walkway. The inside 45 of the tailgate 2 is accessible. The recreational vehicle 1 has a walkway 46. When the tailgate 2 is folded down, the inside 45 is at least approximately at the same height as the walkway 46. The raised flap 2' also ensures sufficient headroom.

[0029] This allows people to step onto the inside 45 of the folded-down tailgate 2. The weight forces exerted on the tailgate 2 by one or more people can be reliably absorbed by the hinges 3, 3'.

[0030] The invention is not limited to the described embodiments, but falls within the scope of the appended claims.
