Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a device for chopping fruit, comprising a base part which has a platform for at least one fruit which projects relative to a base bottom section, and comprising a chopping part which has at least one knife and which is movable in a guided manner with respect to the base part such that a fruit located on the platform is chopped by means of the knife, wherein the platform includes at least one slot which extends from an upper side of the platform in the direction of the base bottom section and into which slot the knife dips during the guided movement, and wherein the chopping part has a container section.
[0002] Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for chopping fruits such as fruits or vegetables by means of such a chopping device.
[0003] To chop fruits such as fruit or vegetables, but also harder fruits such as nuts, it is common practice to chop or cut the fruit using a knife on a cutting board.
[0004] Furthermore, so-called vegetable slicers are known, in which the fruit is guided along a guide surface towards a knife so that a slice is cut from the fruit.
[0005] Also known are so-called egg slicers, which have a slotted recess into which an egg can be placed. Furthermore, a bracket with a plurality of wires is pivotally attached to the base of the egg slicer. This bracket can be moved toward the egg, and its wires can be moved into the slots in the base, thus slicing the egg.
[0006] Furthermore, chopping devices are known in which vegetables are chopped by rotary-driven chopping knives.
[0007] European patent application EP 3 153 283 A1 discloses a food chopping device comprising a base and a head. The base has a plurality of ribs extending upwardly from the base. The head defines an open interior and is movable around the plurality of ribs to receive the plurality of ribs within the open interior of the head. A blade set comprises a plurality of blades. The blade set is positioned within the head to be received between the plurality of ribs during a cutting operation.
[0008] European patent application EP 3 375 581 A2 discloses a cutting device comprising a housing and a piston. Handles are arranged on the outside of the housing and extend laterally from the housing. Inside, the housing has a blade assembly. The piston and the housing engage in such a way that the piston pushes a food item through the housing and the blade assembly arranged therein.
[0009] From US patent application US 2004 0069161 A1, a device for dividing fruit into substantially equal wedges is known. The device comprises a base unit for supporting a fruit and a cutting unit with an array of spaced-apart blades for dividing the fruit. The base unit further comprises a plurality of individual support elements that serve to force the fruit through the blade assembly and guide the cutting unit during a slicing operation. The base unit and the cutting unit are designed to fit together in register so that the blades of the blade assembly cut through the fruit and engage slots between support elements of the base unit. A similar device is known from US patent US 4,569,280.
[0010] US patent application US 2010 0224041 A1 discloses a food chopping device comprising a container, a removable upper part arranged above the container, and a cutting device with blades that can be moved linearly relative to the container. The container has a blade guide with a patterned opening into which the blades can be inserted during a cutting process. A piece of food placed on the blade guide and below the blades can be cut by pressing the cutting device downward.
[0011] The above-mentioned shredding devices are either relatively complicated to manufacture or relatively cumbersome to handle and / or clean.
[0012] Against this background, it is an object of the invention to provide an improved crushing device for fruits and an associated method.
[0013] The object is achieved by a comminution device of the type mentioned at the outset, which is characterized in that the comminution part has a container section with an elastically expandable container bottom section, which can expand during the guided movement in order to transfer at least part of the comminuted fruit into the container section.
[0014] In an advantageous embodiment, the base part has a linear guide section on which the shredding part can be moved linearly in a first direction.
[0015] An expandable container base section is understood here to mean that the container base section can deform elastically during the comminution process, so that the fruit located on the platform is essentially not compressed or otherwise damaged by the container base section. On the other hand, the container base section expands when it is guided over the fruit until, at the end of the comminution process, it preferably lies below a support surface of the platform. In other words, in the final position of the guided linear movement, the container base section lies below the fruit, and the container base section has elastically deformed back to its original position.Consequently, when the shredding part is retracted from the base, the upper side of the container base section engages the shredded fruit from below and carries it along, so that the shredded fruit remains in the interior of the container section of the shredding part. Carrying the shredded fruit along when the shredding part is retracted from the base is possible because the shredded fruit can be moved upwards away from the support surface of the platform without any resistance.
[0016] The elasticity of the elastically expandable container base section is therefore preferably selected to be large enough so that the container base section expands over the fruit during the crushing movement and then returns to its original position. During the reverse withdrawal movement, the elasticity of the container base section is so low that the fruit located on the platform is carried along by the container base section without the container base section elastically expanding again.
[0017] The container bottom section therefore acts as a "trap" for the crushed fruit.
[0018] By designing the comminution part and the base part in such a way that they can be guided in a linear movement relative to one another in order to carry out a comminution process, the base part and the comminution part can be manufactured cost-effectively, for example from plastic in a particularly simple injection molding process in which the mold preferably does not contain any transversely movable elements.
[0019] Furthermore, the shredding device is easy to clean.
[0020] According to a particularly preferred embodiment, the base part has a first and a second guide post, on each of which a guide surface of the linear guide section is formed.
[0021] This allows for a simple design for the linear guide section. The posts are preferably shaped so that the shredding part can be guided along them in such a way that it is also guided securely against tilting during the linear movement.
[0022] Furthermore, the guide posts can be designed as hollow posts so that injection molding is easy.
[0023] It is particularly preferred if the first and second guide posts are spaced apart from one another in a second direction, the second direction being oriented transversely to the first direction, preferably perpendicular thereto.
[0024] This enables good linear guidance of the shredding part.
[0025] It is particularly advantageous if the platform is arranged in the second direction between the first and the second guide post.
[0026] According to a further preferred embodiment, the blade of the comminution part extends in the second direction. Alternatively or additionally, the slot of the platform extends in the second direction.
[0027] Since the shredding part can be moved stably and linearly by means of the guide posts, a stable vertical movement of the knife can be established, which plunges into the slot aligned in the same direction during the shredding process.
[0028] Consequently, the platform can also be designed in such a way that the fruit is not squeezed in during the crushing process.
[0029] Furthermore, it is advantageous if the comminution part has a longitudinal extension in the second direction, which is perpendicular to the first direction, wherein the comminution part has a transverse extension in a third direction, which is perpendicular to the first direction and to the second direction, which is smaller than the longitudinal extension.
[0030] In other words, the chopping part is roughly rectangular or oval in plan view. The blade preferably extends parallel to the long side of this rectangle or oval. Consequently, comparatively large fruits can be chopped.
[0031] It is particularly advantageous if the distance between the first and second guide posts of the base part is greater than or equal to the transverse extent of the shredding part.
[0032] This makes it possible for the shredding part, in some designs, to be moved towards the platform at an angle of 90°.
[0033] According to a particularly preferred embodiment, the base part and the comminution part are separate parts.
[0034] Unlike, for example, an egg slicer of the type described above, the base and chopping parts are not rigidly connected. This simplifies handling and can also make cleaning easier.
[0035] The aspect according to which the base part and the shredding part are separate parts, and the aspect that the base part has a linear guide section on which the shredding part can be moved in a linearly guided manner in a first direction, can be combined as desired with the aspect that the shredding part has a container section with an elastically expandable container bottom section which can expand during the guided movement in order to transfer at least a part of the shredded fruit into the container section.
[0036] It is preferred if the expandable container bottom section has a plurality of elastically deformable bottom segments, each projecting radially inwardly from an edge of the container section with respect to the first direction, wherein the bottom segments preferably define a central opening whose size corresponds to that of the pedestal in a plan view of the first direction.
[0037] In this embodiment, the base segments are each designed in the manner of cantilever arms starting from the edge of the container base in the region of its lower end and are each elastically deflectable or deformable in the manner of a cantilever arm or a tongue.
[0038] By defining a central opening corresponding to the platform, the floor segments can always return to a home position due to their inherent elasticity once they have passed the upper support surface of the platform during the comminution process. The home position is preferably a position in which the floor segments are aligned substantially perpendicular to the first direction.
[0039] According to a further preferred embodiment of the third aspect, the knife is arranged in a container interior of the container section.
[0040] Preferably, the knife is arranged such that a cutting edge of the knife is spaced from the container bottom section.
[0041] The knife of the present disclosure may be a blade-like knife that has a certain extension in the first direction and has a cutting edge on the side facing the container bottom portion. However, the term "knife" is to be understood broadly here. The knife may also be a cutting wire. The knife may extend in a linear direction, preferably along the second direction. However, the knife may also be corrugated or have another shape.
[0042] Furthermore, in some embodiments, the blade can be designed as a cross-blade, having a blade portion extending in the second direction and a blade portion extending in the third direction transverse to the second direction. In this configuration, a fruit located on the pedestal can be chopped into more than two pieces in one chopping process.
[0043] When the knife is designed as a cross knife, it is preferred if the pedestal has a second slot that is aligned parallel to the second knife.
[0044] It is further particularly preferred if the pedestal has two lateral recesses which are opposite one another in a third direction which is oriented transversely to the first direction and to a second direction.
[0045] Preferably, the two lateral recesses are connected via the slot.
[0046] The two lateral recesses are preferably triangular in plan view or together hourglass-shaped in plan view.
[0047] It is particularly advantageous if a container bottom section of the comminution part has two radially opposite bottom segments which, during the guided linear movement, dip into the recesses and are elastically deformable.
[0048] The two base segments associated with the lateral recesses extend radially almost to the slot, so that they almost touch in the middle along a central axis of the platform. This ensures that these base segments, after radially expanding during the fruit crushing process, return to the lateral recesses. During the withdrawal movement of the crushing section, these two base segments ensure that even smaller fruits, which are no larger than the platform when viewed from above, are safely removed and remain in the container interior of the container section of the crushing section.
[0049] As mentioned at the beginning, it is preferred if the base part and / or a container section of the shredding part are made of plastic.
[0050] The knife is preferably made of metal.
[0051] The bottom segments of the expandable container bottom section are preferably made of an elastic plastic material.
[0052] In some cases, the shredding part can therefore be manufactured as a two-component injection-molded part, with the container section made of a relatively hard plastic material and the container base section made of a relatively soft plastic material. The knife can be arranged as an "insert" in the mold. For this purpose, the knife preferably has anchor elements at its ends in the first direction, which ensure secure positioning of the knife within the shredding part during injection molding.
[0053] It is understood that the features mentioned above and those to be explained below can be used not only in the combination specified in each case, but also in other combinations or on their own, without departing from the scope of the present invention.
[0054] Embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the drawings and explained in more detail in the following description. They show: Fig. 1 a perspective view of an embodiment of a comminution device of the present disclosure; Fig. 2 a sectional view along a line II - II of the Fig. 1 ; Fig. 3 a perspective view of the shredding part of the shredding device of the Fig. 1 and 2 from diagonally below; Fig. 4 a perspective view of the base part of the shredding device of the Fig. 1 and 2 ; and Fig. 5 a plan view of the shredding part of the shredding device of the Fig. 1 and 2 .
[0055] In the Fig. 1 bis 5 a fruit crushing device 10 according to an embodiment is shown.
[0056] The shredding device 10 is used for shredding fruits such as fruit or vegetables, in particular tomatoes, berries, small apples or the like.
[0057] The comminution device 10 has a base part 12 and a comminution part 14 formed separately therefrom.
[0058] The base part 12 has, as shown in the Fig. 1 , 2 and 4As shown, the base part 12 has a base bottom section 16 so that the base part 12 can be placed on a work surface. Furthermore, the base part 12 has a linear guide section 18, by means of which the comminution part 14 can be moved along a linear movement in a first direction R1 with respect to the base part 12.
[0059] In the present case, the linear guide section 18 is formed by a first guide post 20 and a second guide post 22, which protrude upwards relative to the base floor section 16 along the first direction R1.
[0060] The shredding part 14 has a container section 23, on which a first guide recess 24 and a second guide recess 26 are formed, the shape of which is adapted to the guide posts 20, 22. The container section defines a container interior 28 designed to receive shredded fruit. The container interior 28 is open upwards in the first direction R1. At the upper end, the shredding part 14 defines an upper edge 30 that frames the container interior 28, specifically at the upper end of the shredding part 14.
[0061] The base floor portion 16 also defines an outer edge 32. The shape of the outer edge 32 and the shape of the upper edge 30 are approximately the same, with the dimensions of the upper edge 30 being slightly smaller than those of the outer edge 32.
[0062] The crushing part 14 and the base part 12 are designed so that when the crushing part is inserted into the base part 12, as shown in Fig. 1 As shown, an outer wall of the shredding part 14 is aligned flush with outer walls of the guide posts 20, 22, so that a harmonious appearance is provided.
[0063] The guide posts 20, 22 are designed as hollow posts, as is particularly the case in Fig. 2 can be seen, whereby the shape of the posts tapers upwards in the first direction R1, so that the posts can be easily produced by injection molding.
[0064] The comminution part 14 further comprises a knife 34. The knife 34 is arranged in the container interior 28, specifically above a container bottom portion 36 of the comminution part 14. The container bottom portion 36 of the comminution part 14 defines a lower end of the comminution part 14 in the first direction R1, which end is opposite the upper edge 30.
[0065] The comminution device 10, in particular its comminution part 14, has a longitudinal extension L in a second direction R2, which is perpendicular to the first direction R1. Furthermore, the comminution device 10, in particular its comminution part 14, has a transverse extension Q in a third direction R3, which is perpendicular to both the first direction R1 and the second direction R2. Q is smaller than L.
[0066] As it is in Fig. 2 As shown, the knife 34 extends in the second direction R2 within the container interior 28.
[0067] A cutting edge of the knife 34, which points in the first direction R1 towards the container bottom portion 36, is spaced from the container bottom portion 36 by a height H which is greater than 0 mm and preferably less than 15 mm, without being limited thereto.
[0068] The longitudinal extent L can, for example, be in the range from 8 cm to 15 cm, without being limited thereto. The transverse extent Q can be in a range from 4 cm to 10 cm, without being limited thereto.
[0069] The height in the first direction R1 of the shredding part 14 may be in a range of 7 cm to 13 cm, without being limited thereto.
[0070] The base part 12 has a base floor 38 between the guide posts 20, 22, relative to which the guide posts 20, 22 project upwards in the first direction R1.
[0071] Furthermore, the base part 12 has a platform 40 arranged between the guide posts 20, 22 in the second direction R2. The platform 40 extends upward from the base in the first direction R1, essentially parallel to the guide posts 20, 22.
[0072] Podium 40, as it is in the Fig. 2 and 4 shown, has a slot 42 which extends in the second direction R2 and which is adapted to receive the knife 34.
[0073] In other words, during a comminution process in which the comminution part 14 is moved in the first direction R1 towards the base 38, the knife 34 plunges into the slot 42.
[0074] The slot 42 preferably extends down to the base floor 38.
[0075] The pedestal 40 further has two lateral recesses 44, which are opposite each other in the third direction R3. The lateral recesses 44 are each approximately triangular in plan view in the first direction R1, with the tips of the triangles pointing toward the slot 42. In plan view, the two lateral recesses 44 together have approximately the shape of an hourglass.
[0076] The lateral recesses 44 also extend in the first direction R1 down to the base floor 38.
[0077] As a result, the platform 40 is formed by four individual platforms 46, each of which is bounded by a portion of the slot 42 and one of the lateral recesses 44, as seen in the circumferential direction. In plan view, the individual platforms 46 each have approximately the shape of a circular sector extending over an angular range of less than 90°.
[0078] On an upper side of the individual pedestals 46 in the first direction R1, the individual pedestals 46 each have a support surface 48 which slopes downwards from an outer circumferential section of the respective individual pedestal 46 to an intersection point between the slot 42 and the recesses 44 in the first direction R1.
[0079] The support surfaces 48 of the four individual pedestals 46 together form a kind of trough for a fruit that is placed on the pedestal 40.
[0077] As is particularly evident in the Fig. 3 and 4As shown, the comminution part 14 has a first guide surface 50 in the region of the first guide recess 24 and a second guide surface 52 in the region of the second guide recess 26.
[0080] The guide surfaces 50, 52 are each symmetrical with respect to the second direction R2 and each define an approximately semicircular shape.
[0081] On the other hand, as is particularly the case in Fig. 4 As shown, the guide posts 20, 22 have on their radial inner sides a first guide surface 54 and a second guide surface 56, respectively, which face each other in the second direction R2. The guide surfaces 54, 56 are adapted to the guide surfaces 50, 52 and are also each approximately semicircular or elongated with lateral guide tabs.
[0082] Consequently, the shredding part 14 can be guided along the base part 12 in a tilt-proof manner in the first direction R1. This ensures that the blade 34 is always aligned with the first direction R1 during the linear guide movement.
[0083] The base 38 has a central recess 58 around the platform 40. If any amniotic fluid escapes from the fruit during the comminution process, it is essentially collected in the central recess 58.
[0084] As it is in Fig. 5 As shown, the container base section 36 has a central opening 60, the shape of which, in plan view, is adapted to the shape of the pedestal 40. In plan view, the central opening 60 defines two circular sectors, each of which is assigned two individual pedestals 46 opposite the blade 34. If the comminution part 14 is fully inserted into the base part 12 so that the container base section 36 rests on the base 38, the individual pedestals 46 are immersed in the central opening 60.
[0085] More specifically, the container bottom portion 36 is defined by a plurality of bottom segments 64 which extend radially inwardly from a lower inner edge 62 of the container portion 23 of the comminution part 14.
[0086] The base segments 64 include base segments 64a that extend to a perimeter (e.g., circumference) of the pedestal 40. Furthermore, the base segments 64 include two base segments 64b that extend into the lateral recesses 44. The two base segments 64b are each approximately triangular in plan view, corresponding to the shape of the lateral recesses 44. The two base segments 64b are fully inserted into the lateral recesses 44. The blade 34 is arranged between the tips of the two base segments 64b.
[0087] The shredding device 10 is used as follows: First, the shredding part 14 is removed from the base part 12.
[0088] A fruit is then placed on the platform 40 of the base part 12. The shredding part 14 is then placed on the base part 12, and the shredding part 14 is guided along the linear guide section 18 in the first direction R1 toward the base floor 38. The fruit resting on the platform 40 is initially contacted by at least the floor segments 64b, with the floor segments 64 contacting the fruit being elastically deflected in the process. As the guided movement continues, the cutting edge of the knife 34 strikes the top side of the fruit and penetrates the fruit. The floor segments 64 are further deflected in the process.
[0089] Finally, the knife 34 has completely severed the fruit on the platform 40 and enters the slot 42. The deflected base segments 64 have already elastically returned to their original shape, which is shown in Fig. 5 is shown. Consequently, at least the two base segments 64b are partially located below the chopped fruit located on the platform 40.
[0090] Subsequently, the shredding part 14 is lifted from the base part 12. At least the two base segments 64b engage behind the shredded fruit and lift it from the support surfaces 48 of the platform 40. In other words, the shredded fruit remains in the container interior 28 of the container section 23 of the shredding part 14.
[0091] This process can be repeated without having to empty the fruit pieces already contained in the container interior 28. Rather, a plurality of fruits can be chopped in this manner until the pieces of a plurality of fruits or fruit pieces are located in the container interior 28.
[0092] In a final operation, the chopping part 14 can then be turned over so that the fruit pieces contained in the container interior 28 are tipped out in a targeted manner, specifically through the opening of the container interior 28 at the upper edge 30. For example, a salad can be prepared from fruit pieces in this way. Furthermore, fruit pieces can be produced for muesli or for a cake topping and then poured into a muesli bowl or emptied onto a cake base. Overall, a number of applications are possible.
[0093] The shredding part 14 and the base part 12 can then be easily cleaned, for example, by rinsing them under a faucet. If appropriate, the shredding part and the base part 12 can also be placed in a dishwasher if suitable plastic materials are used. Bezugszeichenliste:
