Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a container with a product packaged therein. In particular, the invention relates to a rigid cylindrical container with a pasty product packaged therein.

[0002] Products are packaged in drum-shaped containers for various applications. In particular, pasty products, such as adhesives and sealants, are typically packaged in a film layer inside metal drums. The products are often removed from these drums by pumping from the top, with a funnel-shaped plate pressurizing the contents so that the product flows up to the pump and can then be conveyed further. Such a container is known from DE3605422.

[0003] However, during this process, a residual amount of product always remains in the container and cannot be pumped out. Depending on the system, this residual amount can range from 5 to 10 liters (in a 200-liter drum).

[0004] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a solution that enables better utilization of the product packaged in the container during its use. In particular, the residual quantity that can no longer be conveyed should be kept as low as possible, and the economic efficiency and environmental compatibility of such packaged products should be improved.

[0005] This problem is solved by providing a container with a product packaged therein, comprising: a rigid cylindrical container with a bottom, a side wall and a lid; a flexible lining; a pasty product enclosed by the lining and arranged in the container; wherein the container further comprises an insert arranged on the bottom and under the product enclosed by the lining, having a substantially circular plan smaller than the bottom and positioned substantially centrally on the bottom, such that a gap exists between the insert and the side wall.

Claims

1. A container with a product packaged therein, comprising: a rigid cylindrical container having a bottom, a side wall and a lid; a flexible liner; a pasty product which is enclosed by the liner and arranged in the container, characterized in that the container moreover comprises an insert which is arranged on the bottom and below the product enclosed in the liner, and which has a substantially round circular outline smaller than the bottom, and which is arranged so as to be substantially centric on the bottom in such a way that there is a spacing between the insert and the side wall.

2. The container as claimed in claim 1, wherein the insert is sized relative to the container in such a manner that the spacing is between 2 and 10 cm.

3. The container as claimed in one of the preceding claims, wherein a height of the insert is between 1% and 6 % of a height of the container, and / or wherein a height of the insert is between 1 cm and 6 cm.

4. The container as claimed in one of the preceding claims, wherein the insert has a rectangular or trapezoidal or polygonal cross section.
