Description

[0001] The invention relates to a container with several compartments for holding objects.

[0002] Containers with compartments for holding objects are increasingly being used for mobile working to transport office items such as writing utensils and writing pads or notebooks, but also notebooks and their accessories such as computer mice, charging cables, headsets and the like. For quick access to the contents, such containers are usually open at the top and have several compartments for holding objects. The compartments can be designed in different sizes so that different objects can be accommodated. To divide the compartments, dividers are often used in an outer shell consisting of two end walls and two side walls connecting the end walls. These dividers are permanently or detachably attached to the outer shell. If the dividers are permanently attached to the outer shell, the compartment layout is not variable. However, detachable attachment of the partitions to the outer shell, for example, using hook-and-loop fasteners or snap fasteners, is prone to wear. A container of the type mentioned above is known from US Pat. No. 5,004,146 A. The partitions are connected to narrow end walls adjacent to the end or side walls of the outer shell.

[0003] It is therefore an object of the invention to develop a container whose interior can be better subdivided.

[0004] This object is achieved according to the invention by a container having the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

[0005] The invention is based on the idea of creating a frictional connection by the surface contact of the end walls with the front walls, which holds the insert in position with respect to the outer shell. In this case, each of the end walls rests with a first of its edges against a first of the side walls and with another of its edges against a second of the side walls. Each of the end walls thus extends over its entire width, measured transversely to the extent of the side walls, of the front wall against which it rests. The end walls can then hardly or not at all slip with respect to the outer shell in a direction transverse to the extent of the side walls, so that according to a preferred embodiment, no connecting means are present which firmly connect the outer shell and the insert to one another.

[0006] The end walls are expediently connected to the at least one partition wall in an articulated manner. The insert, like the outer shell, can then be folded flat for transport purposes. The end walls, the side walls, the end walls, and the at least one partition wall are expediently each made of a rigid or semi-rigid material. This imparts high stability to both the outer shell and the insert. It is preferred that the end walls and / or the side walls and / or the end walls and / or the at least one partition wall are each made of two layers of textile material, between which a reinforcement plate is inserted.

[0007] It is preferred that the end walls and the side walls be pivotable around their outer edges after the insert has been removed from the outer shell until they lie flat against one another. Furthermore, it is preferred that the end walls and the at least one partition wall be pivotable after the insert has been removed from the outer shell until they lie flat against one another. In this way, the container can be disassembled and folded to save space. This, in particular, enables space-saving packaging of the container for sale or shipping.

[0008] The outer shell preferably has a base that connects the end walls and the side walls. The compartments are then closed off at an underside. The base expediently has two base sections that are detachably connected to one another along a diagonal, for example by means of a zipper. By loosening the connection between the two base sections, the outer shell with the base can also be folded together to save space. In addition to or in addition to the base, a base plate can be provided in the outer shell, on which the insert rests. The base plate forms a stable closure for the compartments at the bottom, so that even heavier objects can be accommodated and transported in the container.Just like the end walls, the side walls, the end walls and the at least one partition wall, the floor panel can also be made of a rigid or semi-rigid material, preferably of two layers of textile material between which a reinforcing panel is inserted.

[0009] The compartments are expediently open at an upper side so that objects can be easily placed in and removed from the compartments. A lid can also be provided which covers the upper side and preferably engages around the circumferential upper edge of the outer shell and extends downwards for a short distance on the outside. Furthermore, the outer shell expediently has at least one carrying strap which runs between the end walls and is firmly connected to them. The carrying strap is longer than the side walls so that when the container is lifted by the carrying strap it runs at a distance above the top of the compartments. When the container is lifted by the carrying strap or straps a force also acts on the end walls which pushes the end walls towards one another and thus increases the frictional connection between the end walls and the end walls.

[0010] The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment schematically illustrated in the drawing. In the drawings: Fig. 1 a container in perspective view; Fig. 2 the container according to Figure 1 in exploded view; Fig. 3a, b, c the outer shell of the container according to Figure 1 in a view from below, a view from below and folded and Fig. 4 the use of the container according to Figure 1 in folded state.

[0011] The container 10 shown in the drawing has, as particularly shown in Figure 2 As shown, the container 10 comprises an outer shell 12, an insert 14 received in the outer shell 12, and a base plate 16, also received in the outer shell 12, on which the insert 14 rests. By means of the insert 14, the interior of the outer shell 12 is divided into several compartments 18, each of which is open to an upper side 20 of the container 10.

[0012] The outer shell 12 has two spaced-apart end walls 22 and two spaced-apart side walls 24 that connect the end walls 22. The end walls 22 and the side walls 24 are hinged together at outer edges 26. The outer shell 12 also has an underside floor 28 that closes off its interior at the bottom and has two floor sections 30. The two floor sections 30 are detachably connected to one another along a diagonal 32 by means of a zipper 34. The base plate 16 rests on the floor 28. The insert 14, which stands on the base plate 16, has two spaced-apart end walls 36 and two spaced-apart partition walls 38 that connect the end walls 36. The partition walls 38 are firmly sewn to the end walls 36 and hinged to them by means of the seams. The base plate 16, the end walls 22, the side walls 24, the end walls 36 and the partition walls 38 are constructed in multiple layers, each with two layers of textile material, between which a semi-rigid reinforcement plate is inserted. Two upwardly open and downwardly closed pockets 40 are attached to the outside of one of the side walls 24, while a side pocket 42, open both upwards and downwards, is sewn onto the inside of the opposite side wall 24. Two carrying straps 44 are also sewn onto the end walls 22. These straps span the open top 20 and are longer than the side walls 24, so that when the container 10 is lifted, they run at a distance from the top 20, as shown in FIG. Figure 1 shown.

[0013] The insert 14 is accommodated in the outer shell 12 without any additional connecting means. Each of the end walls 36 rests flat against one of the end walls 22. Each end wall 36 also extends between the side walls 24 and rests with one of two opposite edges 46 against one of the side walls 24. The insert 14 is held in the outer shell 12 by friction, which is further reinforced when the container 10 is lifted by the carrying straps 44, so that the end walls 22 are subjected to a force towards each other. Each of the compartments 18 is surrounded on four sides by four walls: the two outer compartments 18 by the two end walls 36, one of the side walls 24 and one of the partition walls 38, and the middle compartment 18 by the two end walls 36 and the partition walls 38.

[0014] The container 10 can be folded to save space by removing the insert 14 and the base plate 16 from the outer shell 12. The insert 14 can be folded by pivoting the end walls 36 relative to the partition walls 38 until the end walls 36 and the partition walls 38 lie flat against one another, see. Fig. 4 . Furthermore, the base sections 30 can be separated from one another by opening the zipper 34, so that the end walls 22 and the side walls 24 can be pivoted against one another around the outer edges 26 until they also lie flat against one another, see. Fig. 3c .

[0015] In the illustrated embodiment, the insert 14 has two partition walls 38. It goes without saying that it may also have more partition walls 38 connecting the end walls 36 to one another, or even just one such partition wall 38. In addition, a lid may be provided that covers the top side 20 and surrounds the upper edges of the end walls 22 and the side walls 24.

[0016] In summary, the invention relates to a container 10 with a plurality of compartments 18 for receiving objects, with an outer shell 12 and an insert 14 removably received in the outer shell 12, wherein the outer shell 12 has two end walls 22 and two side walls 24 connecting the end walls 22 to one another, wherein the end walls 22 and the side walls 24 are hingedly connected to one another at outer edges 26, wherein the insert 14 has two end walls 36 and at least one partition wall 38 connecting the end walls 36 to one another, and wherein each of the end walls 36 lies flat against one of the end walls 22.It is further provided that the compartments 18 are each surrounded by at least one of the end walls 22 and / or at least one of the side walls 24 and / or at least one of the end walls 36 and / or the at least one partition wall 38 or, in other words, that the compartments 18 are each surrounded by four walls from the ensemble of the end walls 22, the side walls 24, the end walls 36 and the at least one partition wall 38.
