Description

[0001] According to the preamble of claim 1, the invention relates to a building opening shading device, such as a roller shutter.

[0002] In the case of building opening shading devices, such as roller shutters, which have a curtain that is mounted on a winding shaft rotatably mounted on two side parts and can be raised and lowered in front of a building opening, the problem arises as to how the side parts, usually elements of a roller shutter box or the like, can be connected to side guide rails that serve to guide the curtain in front of the building opening.

[0003] For this purpose, it has already been proposed to provide the side parts of the roller shutter box with insertion pins that can be inserted into an associated pin channel of the respective guide rail, see for example the European patent application EP 3 995 664 A1, the German patent application DE 10 2011 103 478 A1 or the European patent application EP 1 748 143 A2.

[0004] Especially for surface-mounted roller shutters, which are mounted on the window frame with the baseboard of the roller shutter box, it is expedient from an installation perspective to first install the roller shutter box and thus the side panels in the installation space above the window, and then attach the side guide rails to the roller shutter box from below. Since the window sill and / or the masonry prevent the side guide rail from being pushed directly onto the pin on the box from below, French patent application FR2 998 608 A1 already proposes a roller shutter box side panel with a pin formed on the bottom and beveled on one side, which allows the guide rail to be positioned at an angle during installation.

[0005] European patent application EP 2 952 669 A1 already discloses a building opening shading device with a side guide rail, at the upper end of which a connecting pin is attached. The connecting pin is associated with a recess in the side panel of the box. To connect the guide rail to the box, the guide rail is attached to the side panel from below and pushed upwards to anchor the connecting pin in the recess.

[0006] Based on this, the present invention is based on the object of creating a building opening shading device which enables the guide rails to be mounted on the roller shutter box from below while having an optimised packaging size.

[0007] This problem is solved by the features of claim 1.

[0008] The building opening shading device according to the invention comprises a curtain mounted on a winding shaft, as well as side guide rails for laterally guiding the curtain and side parts for rotatably supporting the front of the winding shaft. The side guide rails each have a guide groove extending along the side guide rail for the curtain and a connecting pin for connecting the side guide rail to one of the side parts of the building opening shading device. The connecting pin projects upward at the upper end of the side guide rail and is attached to the side guide rail in the region of the upper end. The side parts each have a pin receptacle on the underside for the connecting pin of the associated side guide rail.

[0009] An even deeper insertion of the connecting pin into the pin receptacle when the guide rail is in an obliquely positioned state and an overall more oblique positioning of the guide rail is further made possible according to the invention in that the underside pin receptacle of the side part is delimited on the side facing away from the curtain by a wall which has an opening which is large enough and at the correct height so that the connecting pin of the guide rail can penetrate into the opening when it is inserted into the pin receptacle in the side part.

[0010] The connecting pin can be provided in one piece with the side guide rail.

[0011] However, in terms of simple production and compact packaging, it is advantageous to manufacture the connecting pin as a separate component, comprising a pin lower section with a roughly rectangular cross-section contour extending downwards from the pin upper section, so that the pin lower section can be anchored in a pin channel of the side guide rail. Accordingly, the side guide rail has a pin channel running parallel to its guide groove, in which the connecting pin is anchored. For this purpose, the connecting pin can then have a pin lower part that can be attached to a side guide rail of the building opening shading device and a pin upper part that can be inserted into a pin receptacle of the side part. The pin upper part has a roughly rectangular cross-section contour that extends upwards from the pin lower part. The pin upper part has a broad bevel on at least one broad side, so that the pin upper part tapers to a point or a truncated cone when viewed toward one of its narrow sides. However, a rounded section with a relatively large radius or an oval-shaped chamfer would also be within the scope of the invention.

[0012] This eliminates the need for downward-protruding connecting pins on the roller shutter box or its side panels, allowing for much smaller packaging for prefabricated roller shutter boxes. This naturally also applies to other building shading devices, such as venetian blinds or vertical awnings, for components corresponding to the roller shutter box.

[0013] Advantageous further training is the subject of the remaining subclaims.

[0014] Thus, the tenon upper part of the connecting tenon advantageously has a narrow-sided rounding or bevel on at least one of its narrow sides at its upper end, so that the tenon upper part advantageously tapers spherically, with rounded corners or in the shape of a truncated cone when viewed towards one of its broad sides.

[0015] The pin receptacles on the two side panels are accordingly bordered at their upper ends by a top wall, which is rounded or beveled on at least one of its narrow sides, complementary to the narrow rounding or bevel at the upper end of the connecting pin. When the connecting pin is fully inserted into the pin receptacle of the side panel, the positive fit between the upper end of the connecting pin and the wall of the pin receptacle creates additional security against the roller shutter box tipping toward the room.

[0016] While the narrow-sided rounding or bevel on the upper part of the tenon and the complementary upper wall of the tenon receptacle on the side part serve to provide additional security for the roller shutter box, the purpose of the wide-sided bevel on the upper part of the tenon is to allow the guide rail with the connecting tenon attached to it to be placed at an angle on the tenon receptacle on the side part and then to be hinged into its vertical position by inserting the upper part of the tenon into the tenon receptacle.

[0017] In this sense, it is particularly advantageous if each of the pin receptacles in a lower, entrance-side insertion area is delimited by a bevelled wall on its broad side facing the curtain, so that the pin receptacle tapers upwards from the underside of the side part. If the broad sides of the connecting pins with the broad-side bevels at the upper end of the pin upper part are also located on the side of the guide rail facing away from the curtain, this not only creates a funnel-shaped opening in the pin receptacle on this side, but also a geometry on the opposite side, facing away from the curtain, which allows the connecting pin to be inserted relatively deeply into the pin receptacle when positioned at an angle, thus further facilitating the installation of the guide rail on the side part.

[0018] The connecting pin can advantageously have a lower clip projection on one of its broad sides on its lower pin section, which is suitable for being snapped into a corresponding clip receptacle on the pin channel of the lateral guide rail. The lateral guide rail accordingly has a clip receptacle on the pin channel that corresponds to the lower clip projection on the lower pin section. Alternatively or additionally, the connecting pin could also be inserted into the pin channel with a press fit or be stamped onto the lateral guide rail in some other way to anchor it therein. This is not necessary, however. Even a relatively loose fit is sufficient to anchor the connecting pin in the pin channel if the anchoring is achieved by means of a clip connection of the lower clip projection to the clip receptacle on the pin channel.

[0019] Likewise, the upper part of the tenon can be anchored in the tenon receptacle of the side part by means of a clip connection after being pushed into the tenon receptacle of the side part, i.e. when the side guide rail is mounted on the side part, if a clip projection is provided on the upper part of the tenon, to which a clip receptacle is assigned on the wall of the side part delimiting the tenon receptacle.

[0020] The upper clip projection on the upper part of the pivot is preferably located on the wide side facing away from the wide bevel of the upper part of the pivot, which faces the curtain when the side guide rail is mounted on the side part. This allows access to the clip recess on the wall of the pivot receptacle from the curtain side in the event that the side guide rail needs to be removed. It is then possible, for example, to press in the upper clip projection that has been snapped into the clip receptacle using a screwdriver and pull off the guide rail along with the connecting pin.

[0021] Advantageously, the side guide rail can be cut at an angle on the top, for example, at a 30° angle or similarly beveled, sloping inward from its outward-facing side when installed. This allows the side guide rail to conceal any components of the box that protrude from the building's installation space, such as the lower end of the side panel.

[0022] The building opening shading device according to the invention can be installed in the following steps: Installation of the two side parts for supporting the winding shaft carrying the curtain in an installation space on the building, provision of two side guide rails according to the invention, diagonally positioning the first side guide rail with its upper connecting pin on the pin receptacle of the associated side part and inserting the connecting pin into the pin receptacle while hingeing the first side guide rail in the vertical, diagonally positioning the second side guide rail with its upper connecting pin on the pin receptacle of the associated side part and inserting the connecting pin into the pin receptacle while hingeing the second side guide rail in the vertical.

[0023] This assembly method could be made the subject of a separate patent claim. When using a connecting pin according to the invention, the side guide rails could be provided by anchoring the connecting pins in the side guide rails during production or on site, in particular by clip connections.

[0024] A preferred embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. They show: Fig. 1 shows a cross section through a roller shutter according to an embodiment of the invention; Fig. 2 shows the area at the lower end of the side part of the Fig. 1 shown roller shutter during assembly of the side guide rail in cross-sectional view with cross-sectional plane guided through the side part; Fig. 3 a profile of a side guide rail of the Fig. 1 and 2 shown roller shutter; Fig. 4 a connecting pin for the Fig. 3 shown side guide rail profile; Fig. 5 a plan view of the in Fig. 3 profile shown and the one in Fig. 4 shown connecting pin formed side guide rail; Fig. 6 a first assembly step when attaching the side guide rail to the associated side part with a cutting plane perpendicular to the cutting plane in Fig. 2 ; and Fig. 7 one of the Fig. 6 corresponding view after installation of the side guide rail; Fig. 8 a detailed view of the side part of the roller shutter shown in the previous figures from the side facing away from the curtain; and Fig. 9 detail IX in Fig. 8 .

[0025] First, reference is made to the Fig. 1 .

[0026] Reference numeral 1 designates a window frame, above which a building-side installation space 2 in the form of a roller shutter shaft is located. A building opening shading device, designated overall by 3, is installed in the installation space 2. This device is a renovation roller shutter, designed as a top-mounted roller shutter and mounted on the window frame 1 with a baseboard profile 7. This situation is particularly common in older buildings where roller shutter shafts are already present above the windows and where the thermal insulation value of the facade is to be increased during the window replacement or even simply by replacing the roller shutters.

[0027] For this purpose, the renovation roller shutter 3 has a winding shaft housing formed from crescent-shaped insulation elements 4, 5, an insulation overlay 9 on the baseboard profile 7, and a front cover 6 on the outside of the building. This housing is closed at the front ends by two side parts 13, so that the inside of the building is completely insulated from a curtain outlet opening located above a guide rail 11 and thus from the outside of the building. The side parts 13 not only support the insulation elements 4, 5 and the front cover 6, but also serve to rotatably support a winding shaft 8, on which a curtain of the renovation roller shutter is received so that it can be raised and lowered. The side parts are attached to the front of the baseboard profile 7, preferably in a hinged manner, as is evident, for example, from the applicant's own application DE10 2009 052 010 A1, which is fully incorporated herein in this regard.

[0028] On the inside of the building, there is an inspection opening on the downward-facing reveal wall, which is closed with a cover 10 and through which the installation space 2 is accessible. To enable assembly / disassembly through the inspection opening, the winding shaft housing has the individual insulation elements or insulating crescents 4, 5. Furthermore, the baseboard of the top-mounted roller shutter 3 also consists of individual elements, namely the baseboard profile 7, which is to be attached, for example, to the window frame 1, and a baseboard mounting profile 12 that supports the insulation support 9 of the baseboard, and on the back of which the lower insulating crescent 4 of the winding shaft housing is hung or inserted. After closing the inspection cover 10 and attaching guide rails 11 on the outside of the building for the curtain mounted on the winding shaft 8, the assembly of the top-mounted roller shutter box is complete.

[0029] However, the final step, namely attaching the side guide rails 11 to the side panels 13, can be challenging. The installation space, usually limited at the bottom by a window sill or similar, generally does not allow for a guide rail to be attached vertically from below to the winding shaft housing or the side panel 13 and pushed onto a connecting pin projecting downward from the side panel 13, which is conventionally used to securely attach the side guide rail to the side panel.

[0030] The side guide rail 11 of the roller shutter according to the embodiment of the invention shown has a connecting pin 14 on the top side, which projects upwards and can be inserted into a pin receptacle 15 on the side part 13 that opens downwards, as Fig. 2 shows.

[0031] In order to gain the assembly clearance required to insert the connecting pin 14 into the pin receptacle 15, as Fig. 6 shows, the side guide rail 11 with its connecting pins 14 is placed diagonally on the pin holder 15, in such a way that the lower end of the side guide rail 11 is inclined towards the center of the curtain, which in Fig. 2 an inclination into the plane of the sheet. The side guide rail 11 can then be pushed upwards by screwing it into the vertical position until the connecting pin 14 is fully inserted into the pin receptacle 15 and the side guide rail 11 has reached its vertical end position mounted on the side part 13, see Fig. 7 .

[0032] In the Figuren 8 and 9one can see that the side part 13 has an opening 40 on the side facing away from the masonry or the curtain, into which the connecting pin 14 can insert when inserted into the pin receptacle 15 in the side part 13. This hole or opening in the wall of the side part 13 facing the wall allows an even greater angle of inclination when the connecting pin 14 is inserted, with which the guide rail 11 can be attached to the side part at an angle from below. The advantage of this is particularly that there is more free space at the interfering edge at the lower end of the guide rail 11 (usually the window sill) and even wider guide rails can be easily installed.

[0033] The connecting pin 14 is shown in detail in the Fig. 4 It comprises a lower part 20 and an upper part 21, each of which has a substantially rectangular cross-sectional contour, extending upwards and downwards, respectively. The upper end of the upper part 21 has a bevel 24 on one broad side of the rectangular cross-sectional contour, which allows the oblique insertion of the connecting pin 14 into the pin receptacle 15 ( Fig. 6 ). On the opposite wide side, the upper part 21 has a clip projection 23, which is assigned a corresponding clip recess 16 on the wall bordering the pin receptacle 15 towards the curtain, see Fig. 2 , and into which the upper clip projection engages when the connecting pin 14 is fully inserted into the pin receptacle 15, see Fig. 7 On the side of the side part 13 facing the curtain, the continuous clip holder 16 is also easily accessible at a later date if the upper clip projection 23 has to be released from there in order to be able to remove the guide rail 11 again in the event of an inspection.

[0034] On the lower part 20, the connecting pin 14 has a lower clip projection 22, which is located on the same broad side as the upper clip projection 23. If the connecting pin 14 with its lower part 20 is inserted into a pin channel 19 provided for this purpose ( Fig. 3 ) of the profile of the side guide rail 11, the underside clip projection 22 also faces the curtain. The clip receptacle provided for the underside clip projection 22 can thus be recessed in a wall forming the groove base of a guide groove for the curtain, see Fig. 5In addition to the guide groove 17 for the roller shutter curtain, an additional guide groove 18 is optionally provided for an additional curtain, for example an insect screen.

[0035] At the upper end of the pin upper part 21, there is a rounded portion 25 on both narrow sides, which fits into a complementary rounded portion 26 on the wall forming the upper end of the pin receptacle 15. When the connecting pin is fully inserted, an additional positive fit between the connecting pin 14 and the pin receptacle 15 engages at the rounded portions 25 and 26, respectively, providing additional security against the winding shaft housing tipping toward the interior of the building.

[0036] Variations and modifications of the embodiment shown are possible without exceeding the scope of the invention.

[0037] For example, it would be conceivable to use the invention on a different roller shutter, e.g., a front-mounted roller shutter or a Venetian blind or even on a vertical awning, which may have slightly differently constructed side guide rails, but in which the connecting pin inserted into a corresponding pin channel can still be used to connect the side guide rails to the side part of the box and the installation of the side guide rail is made possible by attaching the side guide rail to the side part at an angle.

[0038] It would also be conceivable, if there is sufficient installation space for the side guide rail between its guide groove and the window or door frame, to provide a connecting pin with a square cross-section of its upper part and a bevel on one side or even a connecting pin in which the upper part of the pin has a rectangular cross-section, but the bevel serving to facilitate the diagonal attachment and hinge of the side guide rail is provided on a narrow side of the cross-section.
