Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a piece of luggage with a floor glider. Furthermore, the invention relates to a set comprising a piece of luggage, a base plate firmly connected to the piece of luggage, and a sliding element detachably connectable to the base plate, as well as a set comprising a piece of luggage and a floor glider, and a method for the replaceable attachment of a floor glider to a piece of luggage.
[0002] It is known from the prior art that luggage items have sliding elements, feet, or floor gliders. These elements serve to protect the luggage from dirt and wear and tear and can also facilitate the gliding of the luggage along surfaces and / or across the floor.
[0003] Such elements can either be formed integrally with the piece of luggage or attached to it. Through use of the luggage, the sliding elements become dirty and worn. For example, due to material abrasion and deformation due to impact, the sliding elements and / or feet lose their original shape, their sliding properties and / or their protective function. Asymmetrical deformation due to use of the luggage can also result in the luggage no longer being able to stand upright as intended. Wear and tear of the sliding elements can also cause the luggage to slide along surfaces or across the floor using parts other than the intended sliding elements and / or feet. This then wears out other materials in the luggage, causing damage to the luggage.
[0004] If the sliding elements and / or feet are firmly attached to the piece of luggage, the usability of the piece of luggage will deteriorate over a longer period of use and, in the worst case, the resulting damage will render the piece of luggage unusable.
[0005] Therefore, it is desirable to equip a piece of luggage with replaceable sliding elements. This allows worn sliding elements to be replaced with new ones, and various sliding elements can be attached to the luggage for different purposes.
[0006] Sliding elements that are detachably attached to a piece of luggage are already known from the prior art. These are attached, for example, to a fastening element on the luggage with a safety clip or a clamping mechanism. However, these replaceable sliding elements are not optimized for easy and quick replacement on the one hand, or a stable, permanent connection to the luggage on the other. Furthermore, dirt deposits often form at the transition between the luggage and the replaceable sliding element, which are difficult to remove.
[0007] The present invention is therefore based on the object of providing a piece of luggage with a replaceable floor glider and a method for the replaceable attachment of a floor glider to a piece of luggage, which has improved handling with regard to the detachable attachment to the piece of luggage and takes into account the problem discussed above.
[0008] This object is achieved by a piece of luggage with a floor glider according to independent claims 1 and 24, a set comprising a piece of luggage, a base plate firmly connected to the piece of luggage, and a sliding element detachably connectable to the base plate according to independent claim 11, a set comprising a piece of luggage and a floor glider according to independent claim 30, and the method for replaceably attaching a floor glider to a piece of luggage according to independent claims 22 and 35. Preferred embodiments of the invention are described in the respective dependent claims.
[0009] Accordingly, according to a first aspect, the present invention is directed to a piece of luggage with a floor glider having a base plate and a sliding element, wherein the base plate is fixedly attached to the piece of luggage and the sliding element is detachably connected to the base plate, wherein the sliding element at least partially encompasses the base plate.
[0010] The base plate, which is permanently attached to the luggage, provides a secure attachment for the gliding element, while the gliding element is detachably connected to the base plate, allowing it to be replaced. The gliding element at least partially encloses the base plate, protecting it from environmental influences and wear and tear, thus positively impacting the service life of the luggage. In particular, this enclosing of the base plate effectively prevents dirt from accumulating, as any gaps at the transition between the luggage and the floor glider are difficult to access.
[0011] In the context of the present invention, luggage is understood to mean in particular suitcases, bags, travel bags, backpacks, transport containers as well as rescue backpacks or containers for rescue and emergency services.
[0012] In the context of the present invention, a floor glider can also be understood as a foot or a spacer for a piece of luggage.
[0013] A base plate can have a predominantly flat and symmetrical shape, but in the context of the present invention, it also includes base plates that are not predominantly flat or symmetrical. For example, the sides of the base plate can be flat, but they can also have elevations, notches, structures, or holes.
[0014] According to the first aspect of the invention, the base plate is firmly attached to the piece of luggage. A fixed attachment between the base plate and the piece of luggage, for example, does not allow for non-destructive removal of the base plate from the piece of luggage.
[0015] The sliding element is detachably connected to the base plate. The sliding element preferably forms a detachable connection with the base plate, either directly or indirectly. A detachable connection can, for example, allow the sliding element to be exchanged or replaced.
[0016] The connection between the sliding element and the base plate is preferably made using one or a combination of the following mechanisms: screw connection, plug connection, clamp connection, magnetic connection.
[0017] The sliding element and the base plate can, for example, have connecting elements, such as holes, plug-in or clamping elements, magnets or grooves.
[0018] Preferably, the sliding element has a sliding surface facing away from the piece of luggage on a first side and has a recess on a second, opposite side in which the base plate is received, preferably completely.
[0019] The two opposite sides can, for example, be parallel to each other. However, the two opposite sides can also be slanted and / or at an angle to each other. The sliding element can also have further recesses. The sliding element can, for example, have a recess and / or a hole that connects the two opposite sides and serves to pass a screw through. The sliding surface can, for example, be a predominantly smooth surface. However, the sliding surface can also, for example, have a structure or be coated with a material that ensures desired friction properties, for example increased or reduced friction of the sliding surface on the floor. Because the base plate is accommodated, preferably completely, in the recess, the penetration of dirt can be prevented, for example. This also provides improved protection of the base plate against environmental influences.
[0020] Preferably, the shape of the recess corresponds to the shape of the base plate and the base plate is preferably received flush in the recess, wherein the base plate and the second side of the sliding element preferably together form a flat surface.
[0021] The flat surface can, for example, have flat contact with the luggage. The flat surface can also be shaped to fit into the luggage's surface structure. The base plate can also be non-flush with the recess, leaving a hollow space between the base plate and the sliding element, for example.
[0022] Preferably, the base plate defines a normal vector and can preferably be inserted into the recess along the normal vector.
[0023] In this case, the sliding element preferably completely encompasses the base plate in such a way that only the side of the base plate facing the piece of luggage is exposed.
[0024] Preferably, the base plate defines a normal vector and can alternatively preferably be inserted into the recess along a direction perpendicular to the normal vector or parallel to the base plate surface.
[0025] For example, the base plate can also be inserted into the recess along a direction less than 90° to the normal vector.
[0026] In this case, the cross-sectional area of the base plate preferably has an undercut and is preferably dovetail-shaped.
[0027] However, the cross-sectional area of the base plate can also have a different shape, such as a T-shape or another shape that prevents the base plate from slipping out in a direction other than the direction perpendicular to the normal vector.
[0028] Preferably, the piece of luggage further comprises a counterpart to the base plate, which is connected to the base plate in such a way that a portion of the piece of luggage is sandwiched between the base plate and the counterpart.
[0029] The counterpart can be, for example, a counter-piece. The counterpart can be, for example, a plate, such as a plastic plate, such as an EPP plate. The counterpart can have the same or a similar surface area as the base plate.
[0030] Preferably, the counterpart is screwed, riveted or locked to the base plate through the section of the luggage.
[0031] For example, the counterpart can be firmly connected to the section of the luggage and the base plate. The counterpart can be connected to the base plate, for example, with one, two, four, or more screws and / or rivets through the section of the luggage.
[0032] According to a second aspect, the invention further relates to a set comprising a piece of luggage, a base plate firmly connected to the piece of luggage, and a sliding element that can be releasably connected to the base plate and can be mounted on the base plate such that the sliding element at least partially encloses the base plate. Naturally, all features mentioned above in the context of the first aspect of the invention, insofar as this is technically feasible, are also used in this second aspect of the invention, and vice versa.
[0033] Preferably, the sliding element has a sliding surface on a first side facing away from the piece of luggage and has a recess on a second, opposite side in which the base plate can be received, preferably completely, wherein the shape of the recess preferably corresponds to the shape of the base plate and wherein the base plate can preferably be received flush in the recess, wherein the base plate and the second side of the sliding element preferably together form a flat surface.
[0034] Preferably, the base plate defines a normal vector and can preferably be inserted into the recess along the normal vector.
[0035] In this case, the sliding element preferably completely encompasses the base plate in such a way that only the side of the base plate facing the piece of luggage is exposed.
[0036] Preferably, the base plate defines a normal vector and can alternatively preferably be inserted into the recess along a direction perpendicular to the normal vector or parallel to the base plate surface.
[0037] In this case, the cross-sectional area of the base plate preferably has an undercut and is preferably dovetail-shaped.
[0038] Preferably, the piece of luggage further comprises a counterpart to the base plate, which is connected to the base plate in such a way that a portion of the piece of luggage is sandwiched between the base plate and the counterpart.
[0039] Preferably, the counterpart is screwed, riveted or locked to the base plate through the section of the luggage.
[0040] Preferably, the base plate is attached to the luggage using rivets.
[0041] The base plate can be attached to the luggage with one, two, three, four, or more rivets. However, the base plate can also be attached to the luggage in a different way. For example, the base plate can be glued, welded, stapled, or sewn.
[0042] Preferably, the piece of luggage has at least one section made of textile, honeycomb panels and / or plastic panels, wherein the base plate is attached to this section.
[0043] The section of the luggage can be rigid or flexible.
[0044] The sliding element preferably consists of one or more plastics.
[0045] The sliding element can, for example, consist of a combination of plastics that cushions the impact of the luggage and / or offers the best possible protection against wear.
[0046] According to a third aspect, the invention further relates to a method for the replaceable attachment of a floor glider to a piece of luggage, comprising attaching a base plate to the piece of luggage and detachably connecting a sliding element to the base plate, wherein the sliding element at least partially encloses the base plate. Naturally, all features mentioned above in the context of the first and second aspects of the invention, insofar as this is technically expedient, are also used in this third aspect of the invention, and vice versa.
[0047] Preferably, the method further comprises detaching the sliding element from the base plate and attaching a new sliding element to the base plate.
[0048] Furthermore, according to a fourth aspect, the invention relates to a piece of luggage with a floor glider having a base plate and a sliding element, wherein the sliding element is detachably connected to the base plate in such a way that a section of the piece of luggage is sandwiched between the base plate and the sliding element.
[0049] Of course, all features mentioned above in the context of the first and second aspects of the invention are also used in this fourth aspect of the invention, as far as this is technically reasonable, and vice versa.
[0050] The connection between the sliding element and the base plate is preferably made via one or a combination of the following mechanisms: screw connection, plug connection, clamp connection, magnetic connection.
[0051] The sliding element and the base plate can, for example, have connecting elements, such as holes, plug-in or clamping elements, magnets or grooves.
[0052] Preferably, the sliding element has a sliding surface facing away from the piece of luggage on a first side and has a recess on a second, opposite side in which the base plate, together with the sandwiched section of the piece of luggage, is preferably completely received.
[0053] Preferably, the shape of the recess corresponds to the shape of the base plate and preferably the base plate, together with the sandwiched portion of the piece of luggage, is preferably received flush in the recess, wherein the base plate and the second side of the sliding element preferably together form a flat surface.
[0054] Preferably, the base plate defines a normal vector and can preferably be inserted into the recess along the normal vector.
[0055] Furthermore, the invention relates to a set comprising a piece of luggage and a floor glider, which has a base plate and a sliding element, wherein the sliding element can be detachably connected to the base plate in such a way that a section of the piece of luggage is sandwiched between the base plate and the sliding element.
[0056] Preferably, the sliding element has a sliding surface facing away from the piece of luggage on a first side and has a recess on a second, opposite side, in which the base plate, together with the sandwiched section of the piece of luggage, can be received, preferably completely, wherein the shape of the recess preferably corresponds to the shape of the base plate and wherein the base plate, together with the sandwiched section of the piece of luggage, can be received preferably flush in the recess, wherein the base plate and the second side of the sliding element preferably together form a flat surface.
[0057] Preferably, the base plate defines a normal vector and can preferably be inserted into the recess along the normal vector.
[0058] Preferably, the piece of luggage has at least one section made of textile, honeycomb panels and / or plastic panels, wherein this section of the piece of luggage is sandwiched between the base plate and the sliding element
[0059] Finally, the invention relates to a method for the replaceable attachment of a floor glider to a piece of luggage, comprising sandwiching a portion of the piece of luggage between a base plate and a sliding element of a floor glider; and detachably connecting the base plate and the sliding element with the enclosed portion.
