Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a drainage device for a sanitary facility, in particular for a drainage channel, comprising a drain housing defining a passage space, wherein an odor trap (siphon) is formed in the passage space between an inlet and an outlet, the closing function of which is based on sealing water, and a one-way valve arranged upstream of the odor trap in the drainage direction, which has at least one flap or membrane which returns automatically or automatically to its closed position.
[0002] In particular, the invention relates to the use of a venting device in combination with a drainage device of the type mentioned above.
[0003] Such a drainage device with a siphon-type odor trap and a one-way valve arranged upstream of the odor trap in the drainage direction, which has a duckbill-shaped valve, is known from EP 2 231 936 B9. This known drainage device is characterized in that, during normal use of the device, at least a lower portion of the one-way valve is immersed in the sealing water of the siphon.
[0004] Furthermore, EP 2 757 205 B1 discloses an elongated floor drain having an elongated inlet opening and a trap that functions without a water seal. The trap is formed from at least one so-called one-way seal, which has one or more flexible flaps (membranes) that are elongated in the direction in which the floor drain extends.
[0005] Such drainage devices are intended to prevent the escape of unpleasant odors from the drain in question even if the sealing water level falls below a just-effective sealing water level due to evaporation when the drain is not used for a long period of time.
[0006] The inventors of the present invention accidentally observed during tests that water to be drained away from such a drainage device sometimes accumulated, which can cause considerable water damage to the building in question.
[0007] The present invention is based on the object of creating a drainage device of the type mentioned at the outset, which is characterized by a reliable water inlet, so that the problem that water to be drained through the drainage device sometimes builds up is largely eliminated.
[0008] This object is achieved in a drainage device of the type mentioned above by the features specified in claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the drainage device according to the invention are specified in the subclaims.
[0009] The drainage device according to the invention differs from the above-mentioned prior art by a venting device arranged on or next to the one-way valve, which, when excess air pressure occurs in the passage space and acts on the flap or membrane, causes a reduction or elimination of the excess air pressure in the passage space by venting the passage space.
[0010] Such a venting device according to the invention ensures that water to be drained through the passage of the drainage device flows smoothly and does not accumulate to a critical volume at the inlet of the passage. The drainage device according to the invention is thus characterized by a reliable water inlet.
[0011] The inventors identified or assumed the following to be the cause of the observed water build-up in a conventional drainage device of the type mentioned at the beginning. When water flows into a drainage device via a one-way valve which has at least one movable flap or membrane which moves into an open position under the influence of liquid and returns automatically to the closed position of the valve after the liquid has drained away, the air in the drainage device is displaced. If the sealing water volume is completely or almost completely present, the air in the drain housing of the drainage device is not compressed or hardly compressed by the incoming water. If, on the other hand, the drainage device or the siphon formed in it is empty or almost empty, the air in the drainage device is forced towards the drain outlet orWastewater pipe is displaced until incoming water fills the siphon so high that the passage in the lower section of the siphon is closed (blocked) with water. The air trapped above the water is then compressed as water continues to flow in and builds up back pressure on the movable flap or diaphragm of the one-way valve. This closes the one-way valve and prevents any further water from flowing in. This means that no more water can enter and the water to be drained away is backed up to a height that is equal to or even higher than the level of the sealing water in the siphon. Even with such a relatively high build-up of water, there is no guarantee that the one-way valve will then open and the water will drain away and not build up further.
[0012] The present invention prevents this buildup by allowing the passage space to be vented using a venting device associated with the one-way valve until the siphon fills to a normal or target level with water that acts as an odor barrier, and pressure equalization occurs between the air pressure in the passage space of the drain device and the ambient air pressure in the relevant building space. This prevents water buildup at the drain device and precludes any potential water damage in the building resulting from such a water buildup.
[0013] The venting device associated with the one-way valve of the drain device according to the invention is preferably designed as a venting valve and can accordingly also be referred to as a venting valve, pressure reducer or pressure equalization valve.
[0014] An advantageous embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the odor trap (siphon) defines an effective sealing water level, wherein the one-way valve is arranged so far above the odor trap that the flap or membrane of the one-way valve ends vertically spaced from the sealing water level at the effective sealing water level. Thus, in the initial operating state or during normal use of the drain device, the flap or membrane of the one-way valve is not immersed in the sealing water, unlike the drain device known from EP 2 231 936 B9. Opening of the one-way valve due to the effect that water flowing into the one-way valve exerts on the flap or membrane of the one-way valve can thus occur without lateral displacement of sealing water, whereby opening of the one-way valve is easier than that of the one-way valve of the drain device known from EP 2 231 936 B9.The easier opening of the one-way valve contributes to the high drainage capacity of the drainage device.
[0015] In this context, a further preferred embodiment of the drainage device according to the invention provides that the one-way valve is arranged so far above the odor trap that, when the odor trap is fully filled with sealing water, an air space is created above the sealing water level at the effective sealing water level, the air space being limited at the top by the one-way valve, the height of which corresponds to at least 0.8 times the effective sealing water level, preferably at least the effective sealing water level, particularly preferably at least 1.2 times the effective sealing water level. This very reliably ensures that the flap or membrane of the one-way valve is not immersed in the sealing water during normal use of the drainage device, thus enabling the one-way valve to open smoothly as water flows into it.
[0016] In particular, an embodiment of the drainage device according to the invention is preferred in which the effective sealing water height of the odor trap is at least 20 mm, preferably at least 30 mm, particularly preferably at least 50 mm.
[0017] A further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides for the one-way valve and the venting device to be designed together as a structural unit. This particularly simplifies the assembly of the venting device. The structural unit comprising the one-way valve and the venting device can be quickly and easily disassembled if necessary for maintenance and cleaning of the odor trap (siphon) and / or the one-way valve and / or the venting device.
[0018] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the assembly comprises an elongated frame defining an inlet opening, which supports the one-way valve and the venting device. The frame, which is made, for example, of hard plastic, such as polyamide, polyethylene, polypropylene, or polyvinyl chloride, or of stainless metal, can provide the assembly with advantageous component stability. The frame, or the improved stability of the assembly provided by the frame, is particularly advantageous for handling the assembly and its liquid-tight storage in the relevant sanitary facility, for example, a drainage channel.
[0019] The length of the inlet opening defined by the frame is preferably a multiple of its width. For example, the length of the inlet opening is at least 4 times, preferably at least 5 times, the width of the inlet opening. The clear opening area of the inlet opening can thus be sufficiently large, even with a comparatively narrow drainage channel, to achieve a sufficiently high drainage capacity with the drainage device.
[0020] A further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the frame of the assembly is provided with a circumferential seal. The circumferential seal is made, for example, of rubber, preferably silicone rubber, and is attached to a circumferential edge region or collar of the frame in a form-fitting and / or material-fitting manner. Furthermore, a further advantageous embodiment of the seal provides that it has a downwardly tapered cross-sectional profile, with a circumferential annular groove formed on the upper side in the profile region of the seal that thickens towards the top.
[0021] The one-way valve is preferably also made of rubber, particularly preferably silicone rubber. According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the one-way valve and the circumferential seal connected to the frame are formed as one piece or are connected to one another. This allows for a particularly reliable connection of the one-way valve to the frame and / or to the circumferential seal, as well as a particularly reliable sealing effect between the one-way valve and the relevant sanitary fixture, for example, a drainage channel.
[0022] A further advantageous embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the frame has a plate-shaped, essentially horizontal body section, along the outline of which an upwardly projecting, circumferential web is formed. This allows the frame to be realized with low material consumption and high component stability.
[0023] In a preferred embodiment of the drainage device according to the invention, its one-way valve is designed in the form of a duckbill valve. In this case, the one-way valve preferably has two flexible membranes (membrane flaps or lamellae) arranged parallel to one another.
[0024] A further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the one-way valve has one or more recesses on its lower membrane edge sections, which preferably have an arcuate contour, particularly preferably a circular arc-shaped contour. These recesses improve rapid opening of the one-way valve when water flows into the one-way valve. The recesses also shorten the closing time of the one-way valve. The recesses are preferably formed in the center of the elongated membrane edge sections.
[0025] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the venting device has a through-piece that projects upwards relative to the one-way valve, on which a closure element is movably mounted, preferably in a manner that can be raised and lowered. The upwardly projecting through-piece can completely or largely prevent contamination of the venting device and any resulting malfunction of the venting device.
[0026] In this context, a further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the through-piece has an inwardly projecting, circumferential projection at its upper end, and that the closure element has elastically deformable legs projecting from its underside, which have hook-shaped ends that engage behind the circumferential projection of the through-piece with some clearance. The venting device can thus be realized cost-effectively and reliably.
[0027] The core of the present invention can be seen in particular in the venting device described above and / or in its use. The subject matter of the invention, which solves the problem set out above, is therefore also, according to claim 14, the use of a venting device, preferably in a design as a structural unit with a one-way valve, in combination with a drainage device according to one of claims 1 to 13. The advantages described above with regard to the drainage device according to the invention and its configurations also arise when used according to the invention.
[0028] An advantageous embodiment of the use of the venting device according to the invention is characterized in that the drainage device is combined with a channel body of a drainage channel which defines a channel depth, wherein the venting device has a through-piece which projects upwards relative to the one-way valve and on which a closure element is mounted so as to be movable, preferably such that it can be raised and lowered, wherein the through-piece of the venting device extends upwards into the channel body over at least one-third of the channel depth, preferably at least half the channel depth, particularly preferably at least three-quarters of the channel depth, and wherein the closure element of the venting device, in the open state, is located at most at the level of an upper side of the channel body or at most at the level of an upper edge or visible surface of a drain grate connected to the channel body. This ensures reliable functioning of the venting device without the venting device protruding into an area located above the drain channel, for example a shower area.
[0029] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to a drawing illustrating exemplary embodiments. In the drawings: Fig. 1 shows an exploded view of a drainage channel with a drainage device having a siphon-type odor trap; Fig. 2 shows the drainage channel of the Fig. 1 without the drainage device in a perspective view from below; Fig. 3 a one-way valve provided with a vent valve for insertion into an inlet of a run-up channel according to the Figures 1 and 2 , in plan view; Fig. 4the one-way valve of the Fig. 3 in a vertical sectional view along the section line IV-IV in Fig. 3 ; Fig. 5the one-way valve of the Fig. 3in a vertical cross-sectional view along the section line VV in Fig. 3 ; Fig. 6 an enlarged view of the Fig. 5 details of the one-way valve marked by an oval; Figures 7 and 8 the one-way valve of the Fig. 3 in a perspective top view, where Fig. 7 the vent valve formed on the one-way valve in the closed state and Fig. 8 the vent valve in the open state; and Figures 9 to 11 show a section of a drainage channel with a drainage device connected thereto according to Fig. 1 , each in a vertical longitudinal section, where the Figures 9 and 11 show different sealing water levels, whereas Fig. 10 shows a condition without sealing water.
[0030] In the Figures 1 and 2As an example of a sanitary facility in which the present invention can be advantageously applied, a drainage channel 1 is shown. The drainage channel 1 can also be referred to as a shower channel. It is installed as a walkable floor drain in the floor of a building, with a floor covering, for example a floor tile or natural stone covering, being arranged adjacent to the sides of the drainage channel 1 or on its horizontal flanges 2.3.
[0031] However, the embodiment of the invention can also be transferred to other sanitary facilities or drains, for example to a drain of a washbasin or a kitchen sink.
[0032] The Figures 1 and 2The drainage channel 1 shown comprises a channel body 2 with two channel end pieces 3, which are preferably detachably connectable to the channel body 2. The channel body 2 consists of a channel profile, which is made, for example, from plastic by extrusion. The extruded channel profile has a substantially U-shaped profile section 2.1. The width of the inlet opening 2.2 of the channel body 2 is, for example, smaller than its channel depth T.
[0033] On both sides of the inlet opening, the flanges (sealing flanges) 2.3 are formed on the U-shaped profile section 2.1, which extend along the longitudinal axis of the channel body 2 and are connected to the inlet opening 2.2 in a substantially flush manner.
[0034] Below the flanges 2.3, the gutter body 2 has grooves or channels 2.5 that extend over the entire length of the gutter body 2 and parallel to its longitudinal axis. Screws 8, preferably self-tapping screws, are screwed into the channels 2.5 or longitudinal grooves to fix the gutter end pieces 3 to the gutter body 2 (see Fig. Fig. 2 ). To accommodate the screws 8, the respective gutter end piece 3 has through holes that are aligned with the channels 2.5 or longitudinal grooves of the gutter body 2. The length of the gutter body 2 can be variably shortened, for example, using a saw or the like.
[0035] Height-adjustable foot elements (mounting feet) 4 are assigned to the underside of the gutter body 2 and can be detachably connected to the gutter body 2. Each foot element 4 is formed from a profile element 4.1, which has locking elements or holders 4.2 assigned to longitudinal slots 2.51 of the channels 2.5. The profile elements 4.1 can be moved along the gutter body 2 or the longitudinal slots 2.51. The lower web of the profile element 4.1 has threaded holes 4.4 or threaded sleeves into which height-adjustable feet 4.5 are screwed.
[0036] The respective gutter end piece 3 has a recess or profile recess 3.3 on its side associated with the gutter body 2, into which an end section of the gutter body 2 can be inserted. A seal 7 associated with the gutter body 2 is arranged in the recess (profile recess) 3.3. The seal 7 is made of rubber or rubber-elastic material.
[0037] Each channel end piece 3 has a bracket 30 for supporting one end of a rod-like body 5. The rod-like body 5 functions as a grate and can also be referred to as a drain grate or grate bar. When installed, it extends along and within the inlet opening 2.2 of the channel body 2. The brackets 30 are preferably height-adjustable and are covered on top by plates 9. The respective plate 9 is detachably connected to the bracket 30.
[0038] Optionally, the drainage channel 1 can include web holders 15 that can be inserted into the channel. The web holders 15 are preferably designed to be height-adjustable. They have, for example, a fork-shaped head section 15.1 and a fork- or bridge-shaped foot section 15.2, with the head section 15.1 and the foot section 15.2 being connected to each other by a threaded rod. The web holders 15 can also be omitted or designed differently if necessary.
[0039] The gutter body 2 has a drain opening formed as an elongated hole on its underside, the longitudinal axis of which runs in the longitudinal direction of the gutter body 2. The drain opening is provided with a drain nozzle 10, which has a mouthpiece 10.1 and a slot-shaped or oval channel cross-section. The mouthpiece 10.1 is welded or glued to the gutter body 2.
[0040] The drain nozzle 10 is inserted into a tubular height adjustment piece 10.2, which also has a slot-shaped or oval channel cross-section (cf. Fig. 1 ). A corresponding lip seal 17 is first inserted into the upper end of the height adjustment piece 10.2. The height adjustment piece 10.2 is provided on the outside with radially projecting ribs, which serve as a guide for a cutting tool if the height adjustment piece 10.2 needs to be shortened. The lower end of the height adjustment piece 10.2 is inserted in a fluid-tight manner into a connection opening 13.10 of a drain housing 13.
[0041] The drain housing 13 is a component of a drainage device according to the invention, wherein the drain housing 13, for example, together with the height adjustment piece 10.2, defines a passage space 13.1. An odor trap (siphon) 14 is formed in the passage space 13.1, arranged between an inlet 13.2 and an outlet 13.3, the sealing function of which is based on the sealing water W (see FIG. Fig. 9 ).
[0042] Upstream of the odor trap 14, viewed in the direction of water flow, is a one-way valve 16, which has at least one flap or membrane 16.1, 16.2 that returns automatically or automatically to a closed position of the one-way valve 16. The one-way valve 16 can also be referred to as a dry odor barrier. If the odor trap 14 does not contain a sufficient amount of sealing water, for example, due to evaporation or suction caused by negative pressure, the one-way valve 16 acts as a dry odor barrier, preventing unpleasant odors from rising from the wastewater line 22 connected to the drain housing 13 via the drain channel 1 into the relevant building space.
[0043] The odor trap (siphon) 14 defines an effective water seal height Hw. In the Fig. 9In the exemplary embodiment shown, the maximum effective water seal height Hw is approximately 50 mm. The one-way valve 16 is arranged so far above the odor trap 14 that the flap or membrane 16.1, 16.2 of the one-way valve ends at a vertical distance from the water seal level Ws at the effective water seal height. For example, the one-way valve 16 is arranged so far above the odor trap 14 that when the odor trap 14 is fully filled with water seal W, an air space LR is created above the water seal level Ws at the effective water seal height Hw, the air space LR being delimited at the top by the one-way valve 16, the height HL of which air space corresponds to at least 0.8 times the effective water seal height Hw, particularly preferably at least 1.2 times the effective water seal height Hw.
[0044] Furthermore, the drainage device according to the invention comprises a venting device 18 arranged on or next to the one-way valve 16, which, when excess air pressure occurs in the passage space 13.1 and acts on the flap or membrane 16.1, 16.2, causes a reduction or elimination of the excess air pressure in the passage space 13.1 by venting the passage space 13.1.
[0045] The one-way valve 16 arranged upstream of the siphon 14 is designed, for example, similar to a so-called duckbill valve. It has a funnel-shaped inlet area 16.3, to which two parallel membranes 16.1, 16.2 extend downwards or in the direction of water flow (see Fig. Figures 3 to 6 ). The membranes 16.1, 16.2 can also be referred to as lamellae or membrane lobes.
[0046] The vertical height H EV of the one-way valve 16 can, for example, be in the range of approximately 20 to 50 mm, preferably in the range of approximately 25 to 35 mm. The horizontal length L EM of the membranes 16.1, 16.2 can, for example, be in the range of approximately 65 to 100 mm, preferably in the range of approximately 70 to 90 mm.
[0047] The diaphragms 16.1, 16.2 are connected to one another at their vertical ends 16.11, 16.21 and together form a closure region of the one-way valve 16, which opens to form a gap 16.5 due to the pressure exerted by liquid flowing in via the inlet region 16.3. The one-way valve 16 is made, for example, of rubber, preferably silicone rubber or the like. The diaphragms 16.1, 16.2 of the valve have a diaphragm thickness in the range of preferably approximately 0.2 mm to 0.5 mm, for example approximately 0.3 mm. During manufacture of the one-way valve 16, the diaphragms 16.1, 16.2 are slightly spaced from one another, as if they were defining a thin gap 16.5. The distance or width of the gap 16.5 can, for example, be in the range of 0.3 mm to 0.5 mm during manufacture of the one-way valve. After production or the first flow of liquid, especially water, the membranes 16.1, 16.2 each other so that they lie against each other and the thin gap that may have previously existed is essentially eliminated.
[0048] Recesses 16.6 are formed in the lower membrane edge sections 16.12, 16.22, which have an arcuate, preferably circular, contour. The recesses 16.6 are formed in the center of the elongated membrane edge sections 16.12, 16.22. The height of the recesses 16.6 can, for example, be in the range of approximately 3 to 5 mm.
[0049] The one-way valve 16 and the venting device 18 are preferably designed together as a structural unit. The structural unit comprises an elongated frame 19 defining an inlet opening 19.1, which supports the one-way valve 16 and the venting device 19. The length of the inlet opening 19.1 is a multiple of its width. For example, the inlet opening 19.1 has a length that is more than four times, preferably more than five times, its width.
[0050] The frame 19 is made of a hard material, preferably a temperature-resistant plastic, such as polyamide. It has a plate-shaped, essentially horizontal body section 19.2, along the outline of which an upwardly projecting, circumferential web (collar) 19.3 is formed.
[0051] Furthermore, the frame 19 is provided with a circumferential seal 20. The seal is made of rubber, preferably silicone rubber, and is attached to a circumferential edge area of the web 19.3 in a form-fitting and / or material-fitting manner. As shown in Fig. 6 As can be seen, the seal 20 has a downwardly tapered cross-sectional profile, with a circumferential annular groove 21 formed on the upper side in the profile region that becomes thicker towards the top. The seal 20 thus has a flexible sealing lip 20.1 that can be pressed, in particular, toward the frame web. The seal 20 and the one-way valve 16 are preferably designed as a single piece.
[0052] The venting device 18 comprises a through-piece 18.1 projecting upward relative to the one-way valve 16, on which a closure element 18.2 is movably mounted, preferably in a manner that can be raised and lowered. For this purpose, the through-piece 18.1 has, for example, an inwardly projecting, circumferential projection 18.3 at its upper end. The height of the through-piece 18.1 relative to the upper edge of the web (collar) 19.3 of the frame 19 is, for example, in the range of approximately 10 to 25 mm, preferably more than approximately 15 mm.
[0053] A preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the venting device 18 should extend in an area that lies between the lower edge or underside 2.8 of the channel body 2 and the upper side of a floor covering adjacent to the inlet opening 2.2 of the channel body 2, e.g., tile covering, or the upper side (upper edge) 5.1 of the drain grate (e.g., grate bar) 5 arranged at the level of the upper side of the floor covering.
[0054] As in particular the Figures 9 to 11show, the drainage channel 1 defines a channel depth T. The through-piece 18.1 of the venting device 18, which projects upwards relative to the one-way valve 16, is dimensioned such that it extends upwards into the channel body 2 over at least one third, preferably at least half, particularly preferably at least three-quarters of the channel depth T, wherein the closure element 18.2 in the open state is at most at the height of the upper side 2.9 of the channel body 2 or at most at the height of an upper edge 5.1 or visible surface of the inlet opening 2.2 inserted (in the Figures 9 to 11 not shown) drain grate 5 (cf. Fig. 1 ).
[0055] The through-connector 18.1 is essentially cylindrical, preferably circularly cylindrical. Its outer diameter is approximately 8 mm, for example, while its inner diameter is approximately 6 mm. The inwardly projecting projection 18.3 of the through-connector defines a vent opening 18.4, the diameter of which is, for example, in the range of approximately 4 to 5 mm. The closure element 18.2 has elastically deformable legs 18.21 projecting from its underside, which have hook-shaped ends that engage behind the circumferential projection 18.3 of the through-connector 18.1 with some clearance.
[0056] The venting device 18 may also be referred to as a vent valve or pressure equalization valve.
[0057] With reference to the Figures 9 to 11 The functional principle of the drainage device according to the invention is explained in more detail below. Fig. 9In the situation outlined, the odor trap (siphon) 14 is filled with water W up to the effective water seal height Hw. If additional water flows through the drain channel 1 towards the drain housing 13, this additional water can flow in unhindered. Sealing water or additional water can flow over the overflow edge 13.8 of the housing 13 or the odor trap towards a drain pipe 22 mounted on the connection piece 13.9 (in Fig. 9 not shown). The air L enclosed by the one-way valve 16, the tubular height adjustment piece 10.2 and the sealing water level Ws is essentially not compressed and thus cannot generate any counterpressure.
[0058] In the Figures 10 and 11 Situations are outlined in which the siphon 14 does not contain any water (see Fig. 10 ) or partially filled with water W (see Fig. 11), to such an extent that the water level Ws is just at the level of the deflection edge 13.7 of the lower deflection. In a situation corresponding to Fig. 10 the air space LR is open in the direction of the connection piece 13.9, as shown in Fig. 10 indicated by several arrows.
[0059] The function of the one-way valve 16 is in a situation corresponding to that in Fig. 10 The situation outlined above is generally valid until, as in Fig. 11 outlined, the siphon 14 becomes partially filled, in which the air space LR is also closed in the direction of the connecting piece 13.9. Without the venting device 18 according to the invention, the flow of additional water into the air space LR would result in the air present in the air space LR no longer being able to escape unhindered in the direction of the connecting piece 13.9 or the drain pipe 22, since the sealing water odor trap 14 would be blocked from the Fig. 11In this case, the air in the air space LR is slightly compressed when additional water flows into the air space LR and thereby exerts a counterpressure on the one-way valve 16, namely on its membranes 16.1, 16.2. In Fig. 6 This counterpressure on the one-way valve 16, in particular on the membranes 16.1, 16.2, is indicated by arrows. This counterpressure causes the one-way valve 16 to no longer open until the accumulated water reaches a height that corresponds at least to the height of the water seal in the odor trap 14. A higher accumulation of water above the one-way valve 16 or above the drainage channel 1 can also occur. The compressed air enclosed in the air space LR must displace the sealing water before the accumulated water can flow through the one-way valve 16.
[0060] However, the venting device 18 of the drainage device according to the invention prevents such a buildup of water above the drain channel 1. The venting device 18 vents the enclosed air space LR until the siphon 14 is filled with water to the normal level. This results in a pressure equalization between the air L enclosed in the air space LR and the air present directly above the drain channel 1. Thus, a critical buildup of water above the drain channel 1 is not possible, thus eliminating any potential water damage.
[0061] The embodiment of the invention is not limited to the embodiments shown in the drawings. Rather, several variants are conceivable which make use of the invention even in a design that deviates from the examples shown. For example, it is also within the scope of the invention if the overall height of the drain device, in particular of a height adjustment piece 10.2, is comparatively low, which may be the case, for example, when renovating a shower. In such cases, the one-way valve 16 may have to be arranged relative to the odor trap 14 in such a way that the flap or membrane 16.1, 16.2 of the one-way valve does not end at a vertical distance from the sealing water level Ws at the effective sealing water level, but is partially submerged in the sealing water even during normal use of the drain device.
