Abstract
Description
[0001] CUTTING, AS WELL AS SLEEVE-SHAPED OUTER PART FORMED FROM A CUTTING FOR WRAPPING A CUP-SHAPED INNER CONTAINER, AS WELL AS COMBINATION PACKAGING CONTAINER
[0002] The invention relates to a blank, a sleeve-shaped outer part formed from a blank for encasing a cup-shaped inner container, and a combination packaging container formed from an inner container and the outer part. The invention further relates to a method for producing the combination packaging container, as well as a method for separating the combination packaging container into its inner container and the outer part by separating the overlapping area of the outer part.
[0003] Due to ever-increasing environmental requirements, it is becoming increasingly important to separate the various materials when recycling products in order to improve recycling quality. In particular, the separation of the various materials should be made as simple as possible so that any human oversights or errors during the recycling process can be compensated for as much as possible.
[0004] WO 2020 / 245148 A1 by the same applicant describes a sleeve-shaped outer part formed from a blank, wherein the blank is wound into a jacket and the end sections thereof are connected to one another in an overlapping region. The sleeve-shaped outer part, together with a cup-shaped inner container, forms a combination packaging container. A predetermined separation region comprises an actuating means with a detection section for separating separation sections located on both sides. The detection section is arranged offset laterally from the mutually converging separation sections and an imaginary straight connecting line between them, viewed in the circumferential direction. A separate predetermined separation section is formed in the jacket of the outer part between each detection section end and a respective end of the separation sections. In a combination packaging container designed in this way, an active separation of the intended separation area is necessary in order to separate the sleeve-shaped outer part from the cup-shaped inner container and to be able to recycle them separately.
[0005] The object of the present invention was to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art and to provide a sleeve-shaped outer part and a combination packaging container comprising a cup-shaped inner container with a sleeve-shaped outer part surrounding it, in which the sleeve-shaped outer part can be easily removed from the inner container for recycling purposes.
[0006] This object is achieved by a device and a method according to the claims.
[0007] According to the invention, a blank is provided for an outer part for encasing a cup-shaped inner container, wherein the inner container has a container shell which has an open end and an end closed by a base, wherein the blank has a first end section and a second end section, wherein an adhesive layer made of an adhesive is arranged on the first end section and / or on the second end section, wherein the blank can be wound to form a shell and the first end section and the second end section can be coupled to one another in an overlapping region by means of the adhesive layer of the adhesive, wherein the blank further has a first end side and a second end side and the two end sides are spaced apart from one another, wherein the adhesive layer has a longitudinal extension in a direction starting from the first end side to the second end side. The adhesive layer is dimensioned such that the first end section and the second end section can be detached from each other again in the overlapping area at the adhesive layer from the coupled state.
[0008] The blank according to the invention has the surprising advantage that a removable adhesive layer can be used to ensure that the blank and a cup-shaped inner container wrapped with the blank can be separated more easily.
[0009] According to the invention, an outer part is provided for encasing a cup-shaped inner container, wherein the inner container has a container shell which has an open end and an end closed by a bottom, wherein the outer part is formed from a blank, which blank has a first end section and a second end section, wherein the blank is wound into a shell and the first end section and the second end section are coupled to one another in an overlapping region by means of an adhesive layer made of an adhesive.
[0010] The outer part further has a first end face and a second end face, and the two end faces are spaced apart from one another, wherein the adhesive layer has a longitudinal extension in a direction starting from the first end face to the second end face.
[0011] The adhesive layer is arranged in the overlap area between the first end section and the second end section and contacts the first end section and the second end section. The adhesive layer is dimensioned such that the first end section and the second end section can be separated from each other at the adhesive layer in the overlap area.
[0012] The outer part according to the invention has the surprising advantage that a detachable adhesive layer can be used to improve the separation of the outer part and a cup-shaped inner container wrapped with the outer part.
[0013] Furthermore, it can be provided that a carrier layer of the blank is formed from a cellulose material, wherein the adhesive layer in the overlap region lies directly against the carrier layer both at the first end section and at the second end section, wherein the cellulose material of the carrier layer has a tensile strength and wherein the adhesive of the adhesive layer has a peel strength, wherein the peel strength of the adhesive is greater than the tensile strength of the cellulose material of the carrier layer. This has the advantage that when the bonded outer part is separated during the recycling process, a certain separation force can tear out the cellulose material and thus loosen the adhesive bond. The actual separation force depends on the tensile strength of the carrier layer and the adhesive contact surface. Thus, by varying the adhesive contact surface and knowing the tensile strength of the carrier layer, a desired separation force can be set. The desired separation force is selected such that there is no undesired separation of the outer part during transport or use of the combination packaging container and that, at the same time, during recycling of the combination packaging container, mechanical deformation of the combination packaging container occurs, leading to a separation of the outer part and thus the separation of the outer part from the cup-shaped inner container. The dimensioning of the adhesive contact surface and thus the dimensioning of the adhesive layer can be based on knowledge of the tensile strength of the cellulose material of the carrier layer. For different cellulose materials, different dimensions of the adhesive contact surface may therefore be required to achieve a desired separation force.Furthermore, it can be provided that the carrier layer has a tensile strength of between 2N / mm. 2 and 20N / mm 2 , especially between 5N / mm 2 and 15N / mm 2 , preferably between 8N / mm 2 and 12N / mm 2 has.
[0014] Furthermore, it can be provided that the adhesive layer, viewed along its longitudinal extent, comprises at least a first adhesive segment and a second adhesive segment, which are separated from one another by a first interruption, wherein the first adhesive segment has a first adhesive segment length. This offers the advantage that, through an interrupted adhesive application, the required adhesive contact area per 100 mm of longitudinal extent can be easily adjusted without having to change the adhesive layer width and thus without having to vary the adhesive nozzle.
[0015] The terms "first adhesive segment" and "second adhesive segment" refer to two adhesive segments arranged next to each other. This does not necessarily mean that the first adhesive segment is the outermost adhesive segment.
[0016] Providing interruptions also has the advantage of reducing the amount of adhesive used.
[0017] In particular, it can be provided that the first adhesive segment and the second adhesive segment have the same shape. Furthermore, it can be provided that, in addition to the first adhesive segment and the second adhesive segment, further adhesive segments are formed, wherein the individual adhesive segments are arranged at a regular distance from one another. In other words, the distances between the individual adhesive segments can be equal.
[0018] Also advantageous is an embodiment according to which it can be provided that the first adhesive segment and the second adhesive segment are point-shaped, wherein the first adhesive segment has a first adhesive segment diameter and the second adhesive segment has a second adhesive segment diameter. This has the advantage that a point-shaped adhesive application is easy to implement. Furthermore, with a point-shaped adhesive application, the adhesive contact surface can be easily adjusted. In particular, it can be provided that the first adhesive segment diameter and the second adhesive segment diameter are the same size.
[0019] According to a further development, it is possible for the first adhesive segment diameter and the second adhesive segment diameter to be between 0.5 mm and 15 mm, in particular between 1.5 mm and 9 mm, preferably between 2.5 mm and 6 mm. Particularly with a standard paper grade of the cellulose material of the carrier layer, the desired effect of separating the outer part can surprisingly be achieved exclusively through recycling with such an adhesive segment diameter.
[0020] Furthermore, it may be expedient for the first interruption to have a first interruption spacing, wherein the first interruption spacing is between 100% and 1000%, in particular between 200% and 700%, preferably between 250% and 400% of the first adhesive segment diameter. Particularly with a standard paper grade of the cellulose material of the carrier layer, with such an interruption spacing, the desired effect of separating the outer part can surprisingly be achieved exclusively through recycling.
[0021] In an alternative embodiment, it can be provided that the first adhesive segment length is 0.5 mm and 15 mm, in particular between 1 mm and 9 mm, preferably between 1.5 mm and 3 mm.
[0022] Furthermore, it can be provided that the first interruption has a first interruption distance, wherein the first interruption distance is between 1 mm and 25 mm, in particular between 8 mm and 20 mm, preferably between 13 mm and 18 mm.
[0023] Furthermore, it can be provided that the first adhesive segment length is between 0.5 mm and 15 mm, in particular between 1 mm and 9 mm, preferably between 1.5 mm and 3 mm, and at the same time the first interruption distance is between 1 mm and 25 mm, in particular between 8 mm and 20 mm, preferably between 13 mm and 18 mm. Particularly with such dimensions, it has surprisingly been shown that, on the one hand, sufficient durability and, at the same time, good detachability of the first end section and the second end section from one another can be achieved. Furthermore, it can be provided that the adhesive layer has an adhesive contact surface, wherein the adhesive contact surface is between 20 mm 2and 500mm 2 per 100mm in the longitudinal extension, especially between 50mm 2 and 200mm 2 per 100mm in the longitudinal extension, preferably between 80mm 2 and 150mm 2 per 100mm in the longitudinal direction. Particularly with a standard paper grade of the cellulose material of the carrier layer, the desired effect of separating the outer part can surprisingly be achieved exclusively through recycling with such an adhesive contact surface.
[0024] Furthermore, it can be provided that in addition to the adhesive layer, a glue layer is formed, wherein the adhesive layer comprises a hot-melt adhesive and wherein the glue layer comprises a cold glue. The connection of an adhesive layer with a hot-melt adhesive and a glue layer with a cold glue has the advantage that when the adhesive connection is produced by means of the hot-melt adhesive, a rapid fixing of the first end section and the second end section to one another can be achieved, so that the production time can be shortened. By means of the cold glue, a temperature-resistant connection can be achieved between the first end section and the second end section, which connection does not come loose even at elevated temperatures. At these elevated temperatures, the hot-melt adhesive may already come loose.
[0025] In an alternative embodiment, it can also be provided that the adhesive layer comprises a cold glue and that the glue layer comprises a hot melt adhesive.
[0026] Furthermore, it can be provided that the adhesive layer and the glue layer are arranged laterally offset from one another with respect to the longitudinal extent. This has the advantage that the adhesive layer and the glue layer can be easily applied.
[0027] Furthermore, it can be provided that the adhesive layer, viewed along the longitudinal extent, has at least a first adhesive segment and a second adhesive segment, which are interrupted from one another by a first interruption, wherein the first adhesive segment has a first adhesive segment length, and that the glue layer, viewed along the longitudinal extent, has at least a first glue segment and a second glue segment, which are interrupted from one another by a first glue layer interruption, wherein the first glue segment has a first glue segment length. Particularly with such dimensions, it has surprisingly been shown that, on the one hand, sufficient durability and, at the same time, good detachability of the first end section and the second end section from one another can be achieved.
[0028] Furthermore, it can be provided that the first adhesive segment length is between 0.5 mm and 15 mm, in particular between 1 mm and 9 mm, preferably between 1.5 mm and 3 mm, and at the same time the first interruption distance is between 1 mm and 25 mm, in particular between 8 mm and 20 mm, preferably between 13 mm and 18 mm, and that the first glue segment length is between 0.5 mm and 20 mm, in particular between 1 mm and 15 mm, preferably between 4 mm and 9 mm. Particularly with such dimensions, it has surprisingly been shown that, on the one hand, sufficient durability and, at the same time, good detachability of the first end section and the second end section from one another can be achieved.
[0029] In particular, it can be provided that one glue segment is arranged exclusively in the edge area.
[0030] Furthermore, it can be provided that an adhesive layer width is between 0.3 mm and 3 mm, in particular between 0.5 mm and 2 mm, preferably between 0.9 mm and 1.5 mm.
[0031] Furthermore, it can be provided that the glue layer width is between 0.3 mm and 3 mm, in particular between 0.5 mm and 2 mm, preferably between 0.9 mm and 1.5 mm.
[0032] In a first embodiment, it can be provided that the adhesive layer is arranged between the glue layer and the first longitudinal edge.
[0033] In an alternative embodiment, it can also be provided that the glue layer is arranged between the adhesive layer and the first longitudinal edge.
[0034] According to the invention, a combination packaging container is designed. The combination packaging container comprises:
[0035] - a cup-shaped inner container, the inner container having a container shell having an open end and an end closed by a bottom;
[0036] - an outer part which encloses the inner container, wherein the outer part is formed from a blank, which blank has a first end section and a second end section, wherein the blank is wound into a jacket and the first end section and the second end section are coupled to one another in an overlapping region by means of an adhesive layer made of an adhesive, wherein the outer part further has a first end face and a second end face and the two end faces are spaced apart from one another, wherein the first end face faces the bottom and the second end face faces the open end of the inner container, wherein the adhesive layer has a longitudinal extension in a direction starting from the first end face to the second end face.
[0037] The adhesive layer is dimensioned such that the first end section and the second end section can be separated from each other in the overlapping area at the adhesive layer.
[0038] The combination packaging container according to the invention offers the surprising advantage that a removable adhesive layer allows for improved separation of the outer part and the inner container wrapped with the outer part during disposal. In particular, the measures according to the invention enable automated separation of the outer part from the inner container if the combination packaging container is excessively deformed when empty, as is the case, for example, during waste transport. This results in complete separation of the outer part from the inner container. Thus, the recyclability of the combination packaging container can be achieved even if the end user does not intentionally separate the outer part from the inner container in order to dispose of them separately. The inventive design of the combination packaging container makes it possible to prevent unwanted detachment of the outer part from the inner container when the combination packaging container is filled and to improve separability in the event of disposal.
[0039] According to a particular embodiment, it is possible for the adhesive layer to be designed such that, when the outer part is separated from the inner container, the first end section of the outer part and the second end section of the outer part are separated from each other in the overlapping area at the adhesive layer, whereby parts of a carrier layer of the blank are torn out at the first end section and / or the second end section and remain adhered to the adhesive layer. This has the advantage that the desired separation force can be predicted or adjusted relatively accurately with such a separation mechanism. According to the invention, a method for producing a combination packaging container is provided. The method comprises the following method steps:
[0040] - providing a cup-shaped inner container, the inner container having a container shell having an open end and an end closed by a bottom;
[0041] - forming an outer part for encasing the inner container, wherein the outer part is formed from a blank, which blank has a first end section and a second end section, wherein the blank is wound into a jacket and the first end section and the second end section are coupled to one another in an overlapping region by means of an adhesive layer made of an adhesive, wherein the outer part further has a first end face and a second end face and the two end faces are spaced apart from one another, wherein the adhesive layer has a longitudinal extension in a direction starting from the first end face to the second end face,
[0042] - axially sliding the outer part onto the inner container, with the first end face facing the bottom and the second end face facing the open end of the inner container, or forming the outer part directly by wrapping it around the inner container.
[0043] The adhesive layer is designed such that the first end portion and the second end portion can be separated from each other in the overlapping area at the adhesive layer.
[0044] In a first embodiment variant, it can be provided that the shaping of the outer part and the bonding of the first end section and the second end section in an overlapping area by means of an adhesive layer takes place in a separate process step, and the thus shaped outer part is only pushed onto the inner container in a further process step by axial displacement.
[0045] In an alternative embodiment, it is also conceivable for the outer part to be wound or formed directly onto the inner container. In this case, the inner container can be mounted on a winding mandrel.
[0046] The method according to the invention offers the surprising advantage that a removable adhesive layer can improve the separation of the outer part and the inner container wrapped with the outer part during disposal. In particular, the measures according to the invention can achieve automated separation of the outer part from the inner container if the combination packaging container is excessively deformed when empty, as is the case, for example, during waste transport. This results in complete separation of the outer part from the inner container. Thus, the recyclability of the combination packaging container can be achieved even if the end user does not deliberately separate the outer part from the inner container in order to dispose of them separately. The inventive construction of the combination packaging container makes it possible to prevent unwanted detachment of the outer part from the inner container when the combination packaging container is filled and to improve separability in the event of disposal.
[0047] In particular, it can be advantageous to use a hot-melt adhesive to apply the adhesive layer to the blank. This adhesive is applied to an outer surface of the blank in the region of the first end section before the outer part is formed. Such a hot-melt adhesive can be applied to the blank more easily and also provides improved separability. The adhesive layer can be formed from a hot-melt adhesive, for example, a thermoplastic hot-melt adhesive. A hot-melt adhesive has the advantage that it cures quickly after application and thus upon cooling, allowing a short cycle time to be achieved.
[0048] In addition to the adhesive layer, a glue layer can be formed. The glue layer can be a layer of cold glue. In particular, the glue layer can be formed from a white glue. Such white glue can contain polyvinyl acetate as a binder. In particular, it can be a thermoplastic dispersion adhesive. Such a cold glue has the advantage that it can be heat-resistant, so that no undesired loosening occurs during transport or a hot-filling process. Furthermore, it can be provided that an adhesive segment is assigned to each glue segment, in particular that the glue segment is arranged next to the adhesive segment.
[0049] In an alternative embodiment, it can be provided that a glue segment and an adhesive segment alternate. Furthermore, it can be provided that the adhesive layer is applied to the blank before forming the outer part in the region of the second end section on an inner surface of the blank.
[0050] In particular, it can be provided that the end sections of the blank are designed in such a way that the adhesive layer lies directly on the carrier layer both at the first end section and at the second end section.
[0051] Furthermore, it can be provided that the hot-melt adhesive is initially in granular form and is melted by heating, in particular to a temperature between 130°C and 160°C, and then pressed through a nozzle for application to the outer surface of the blank. This has the advantage that this measure can achieve a sufficient bond between the hot-melt adhesive and the blank.
[0052] In a first embodiment, a specially shaped, wide nozzle can be provided for applying the adhesive layer, by means of which the adhesive layer is applied as a whole. The nozzle can extend over the entire length of the adhesive layer. Furthermore, the nozzle can have recesses through which the individual adhesive segments can be applied to the blank. This design offers the advantage that the adhesive layer can be applied quickly.
[0053] In an alternative embodiment, it can be provided that the adhesive layer is applied by means of a nozzle which has a width corresponding to a width of the adhesive layer, wherein the nozzle is moved in the longitudinal extent of the adhesive layer relative to the blank and in the process an intermittent application of the adhesive takes place.
[0054] In other words, the adhesive layer can be applied to the blank using an intermittent application. This has the advantage that the required adhesive contact area per 100 mm of longitudinal extension can be easily adjusted without having to change the adhesive layer width and thus the adhesive nozzle.
[0055] Furthermore, it can be provided that the adhesive layer is applied in such a way that, when the first end section and the second end section are connected, a pre-calculated adhesive contact area per 100 mm of longitudinal extent is achieved in the overlap region. The pre-calculated adhesive contact area per 100 mm of longitudinal extent is calculated as a function of the tensile strength of a cellulose material of a carrier layer of the blank, so that when the combination packaging container is recycled, when a desired separation force is reached, the first end section and the second end section separate from one another at the adhesive layer in the overlap region. This has the advantage that the desired separation force can be set with surprisingly high precision.
[0056] A method for separating a combination packaging container, comprising a cup-shaped inner container, wherein the inner container has a container shell having an open end and an end closed by a base, and an outer part which encloses the inner container, wherein the outer part is formed from a blank, which blank has a first end section and a second end section, wherein the blank is wound into a shell and the first end section and the second end section are coupled to one another in an overlapping region by means of an adhesive layer, wherein the outer part further has a first end side and a second end side, and the two end sides are spaced apart from one another, wherein the first end side faces the base and the second end side faces the open end of the inner container, wherein the adhesive layer has a longitudinal extension in a direction starting from the first end face to the second end face.,
[0057] To separate the outer part from the inner container, the first end section of the outer part and the second end section of the outer part are separated from each other in the overlapping area at the adhesive layer, wherein parts of a carrier layer of the blank are torn out at the first end section and / or at the second end section and remain adhered to the adhesive layer.
[0058] According to a further development, it is possible for the first end section of the outer part and the second end section of the outer part to be separated from one another in the overlapping area at the adhesive layer in order to separate the outer part from the inner container by applying a compressive force (-F-) directed towards the combination packaging container and thereby spatially deforming the outer part and the container shell of the combination packaging container, wherein the spatial deformation of the outer part and the container shell in the area of the adhesive layer introduces a separating force which leads to the adhesive layer being detached from the first end section or to the adhesive layer being detached from the second end section in that parts of the carrier layer of the blank are torn out and remain adhered to the adhesive layer. This allows the combination packaging container to separate, for example, due to the ambient conditions during waste removal. Particularly during transport in a garbage truck, large forces and thus significant deformations act on the combination packaging container, which can cause the outer part to separate from the inner container.
[0059] Furthermore, it may be expedient if the spatial deformation of the outer part includes an axial deformation greater than 1.5 cm from an undeformed use state and / or a radial deformation greater than 2 cm from an undeformed use state. This can ensure that the combination packaging container can be separated, for example, by the ambient conditions during waste disposal. Particularly during transport in a garbage truck, large forces and thus large deformations act on the combination packaging container, which can cause the outer part to separate from the inner container.
[0060] For a better understanding of the invention, it is explained in more detail using the following figures.

[0071] By way of introduction, it should be noted that in the variously described embodiments, identical parts are provided with identical reference symbols or component designations. The disclosures contained throughout the description can be applied analogously to identical parts with identical reference symbols or component designations. Furthermore, the positional information chosen in the description, such as top, bottom, side, etc., refers to the directly described and illustrated figure, and these positional information must be applied analogously to the new position in the event of a change in position.
[0072] The term “in particular” is understood below to mean that it may refer to a possible more specific embodiment or closer specification of an object or a method step, but does not necessarily have to represent a mandatory, preferred embodiment of the same or a mandatory procedure.
[0073] As used herein, the terms “comprising,” “comprises,” “having,” “includes,” “including,” “contains,” “containing,” and any variations thereof are intended to cover non-exclusive inclusion.
[0074] Another term that can also be used is "optional." This means that this process step or system component is inherently present, but can be used depending on the operating conditions, although this is not mandatory.
[0075] Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of a combination packaging container 1 as an example of a multitude of possible different shapes, the combination packaging containers 1 being cup-shaped or bowl-shaped. The combination packaging container 1 comprises a cup-shaped or bowl-shaped inner container 2 with a base 3 and a container shell 4. The inner container 2 also has an open end 5 on its side facing away from the base 3. Furthermore, a flange 6 projecting outwards beyond the container shell 4 can be provided in the region of its open end 5. The base 3 forms a closed end 7 for the container shell 4.
[0076] The inner container 2 is preferably formed by a component produced in a deep-drawing process, which can be manufactured quickly and, above all, in a short cycle time. The deep-drawing process is sufficiently well known and will therefore not be discussed in detail. The deep-drawing process is particularly suitable for producing the inner container 2 from a layer of a formable material to be formed using a deep-drawing tool. The wall thickness is nevertheless sufficient to ensure tightness during storage, use, and even disposal. This manufacturing process enables the inner container 2 to be manufactured with relatively thin walls. However, the inner container 2 can also be formed using other manufacturing methods, such as injection molding.
[0077] Due to the cup- or bowl-shaped design of the inner container 2, a longitudinal axis 8 extends axially between the open end 5 and the end 7 closed by the base 3. This longitudinal axis 8 can also represent a central axis if the design is symmetrical. A sealing plate (not shown in detail) can be arranged in the area of the flange 6 or connected to it. In this case, the flange 6 forms a sealing flange.
[0078] In the axial direction and thus in the direction of the longitudinal axis 8, the inner container 2 has a container height 9 between its open end 5, in particular the flange 6, and the base 3, whereby the receiving volume of the inner container 2 is determined depending on the cross-sectional dimensions. The container height 9 in conjunction with the cross-sectional dimensions thus defines a receiving space of the inner container 2.
[0079] The container shell 4 is understood to be that section of the inner container 2 which extends predominantly axially between the open end 5, in particular the flange 6, and the base 3. The inner container 2 and its container shell 4 are preferably designed such that they taper, preferably conically, from the open end 5 toward the base 3.
[0080] Furthermore, the container shell 4 of the inner container 2 can have a backing 10 in its peripheral section adjacent to the base 3. The backing 10 is also part of the container shell 4, but, viewed in axial section, is offset inwards with respect to an imaginary, straight connecting line between the flange 6 and the base 3. The backing 10, in turn, has at least two backing wall sections (not designated in more detail), wherein the two backing wall sections, viewed in axial section, have a different inclination or direction with respect to the longitudinal axis 8 than the rest of the container shell 4. In this case, the backing 10 is offset inwards and thus in the direction of the receiving space compared to the straight arrangement of the container shell 4 between the flange 6 and the base 3, viewed in axial section.
[0081] Viewed in axial section, the first rear wall section, which directly adjoins the base 3, is arranged or configured to extend predominantly in the direction of the container height 9 toward the open end 5. The further rear wall section extends in a predominantly perpendicular direction with respect to the container height 9, starting from the end of the first rear wall section facing away from the base 3 toward the container shell 4. In the present exemplary embodiment, the further rear wall section forms a stacking shoulder. This stacking shoulder serves to support a similar combination packaging container 1 with its base 3, in particular the edge-side transition section between the base 3 and the container shell 4.
[0082] Furthermore, the inner container 2 can have a shoulder 11 or a bead projecting toward the side facing away from the longitudinal axis 8 in the immediate transition area between the base 3 and the container shell 4, in particular between the base 3 and the rear section 10. The shoulder 11 or the bead can be formed circumferentially. Furthermore, it is also conceivable for the shoulder 11 or the bead to be formed in sections.
[0083] The combination packaging container 1 further comprises an outer part 12, which is sleeve-shaped or jacket-shaped and surrounds the inner container 2 in the area of its container jacket 4, at least in sections or in regions. The previously described shoulder 11 can, for example, serve to axially fix the sleeve-shaped outer part 12 to the inner container 2. In this case, the sleeve-shaped outer part 12 is supported with its first end face 19 facing the bottom 3 of the inner container 2 on this shoulder 11 formed in the transition area. The shoulder 11 can thus also be referred to as a locking means for holding the outer part 12 on the inner container 2. The end face 19 forms an end edge in its longitudinal extent, which, in the joined position, defines a support area at least in sections and is supported against the shoulder. To simplify the axial joining of the outer part 12 to the inner container 2, it can be provided that the shoulder 11 is conically tapered at least in sections from the open end 5 to the closed end 7.
[0084] Furthermore, the sleeve-shaped outer part 12 comprises a second end face 20, which in turn faces the open end 5 or the flange 6.
[0085] The sleeve-shaped outer part 12 is preferably formed from a cellulose material, such as cardboard, with sufficient strength with regard to the absorption and transmission of compressive forces, in particular axially acting ones, and is wound from a flat blank 13 into a sleeve. The blank 13 is usually printed in its undeformed, flat position and, if necessary, provided with an additional coating. In particular, it is of course also conceivable for the blank 13 to be formed from several parts. The material used for the blank 13 is usually a cellulose material, although this can also be cardboard or strong paper produced using a recycling process. If a layer or ply of the outer part 12 is formed from a recycled material, an additional layer of a higher-quality paper can be arranged on or bonded to at least one of the surfaces. This additional layer ensures flawless printing for the production of decorations, labels and product information.
[0086] The sleeve-like or jacket-like outer part 12 leads to an additional reinforcement or stiffening effect of the inner container 2 and thus of the entire combination packaging container 1.
[0087] This provides high strength and good thermal insulation on the one hand, and optimal light protection for the contents of the packaging container on the other.
[0088] In particular, it can also be provided that the cardboard is additionally coated or sealed with a water-repellent material in the area of the cut edges. This is particularly advantageous when the combination packaging container 1 is exposed to increased moisture. Coating the cardboard used for the outer part 12 with a water-repellent layer prevents the cardboard from swelling in a humid environment and ultimately detaching from the container shell 4 of the combination packaging container 1.
[0089] The cuff-shaped outer part 12 is wound into a sheath from the mostly flat blank 13. The blank 13 itself is shown in detail in Fig. 3.
[0090] In particular, it can be provided that the flat blank 13 has a first end section 14 and a second end section 15. By winding the blank, the end sections 14, 15 can be connected to one another in an overlap region 16 shown in a simplified manner. This can be achieved by a so-called overlap seam, by means of which the first end section 14 and the second end section 15 adhere to one another, e.g. by means of an adhesive layer 22. The first end section 14 of the blank 13 ends with a first longitudinal edge 17 and the second end section 15 in turn ends with a second longitudinal edge 18. In the overlap region 16, the two longitudinal edges 17, 18 run approximately parallel to one another, with the overlap region 16 having an overlap width being formed therebetween, viewed in the circumferential direction. In particular, it can be provided that in the wound state of the outer part 12 the second end section 15 is folded over the first end section 14 on the outside.
[0091] In particular, it can be provided that the adhesive layer 22 is applied to the blank 13 in the region of the first end section 14 or the second end section 15. The adhesive can be in granular form and melted. In the melted state, the adhesive can then be sprayed onto one of the end sections 14, 15 using a nozzle.
[0092] The winding of the sleeve-shaped outer part 12 can be carried out with the aid of a winding mandrel.
[0093] The outer part 12 further has the first end face 19 and the second end face 20, wherein the two end faces 19, 20 are spaced apart from one another and, in the upright state, define an overall height 21 of the shell. The previously described longitudinal axis 8 can also define the common longitudinal axis for the outer part 12, particularly when the outer part 12 is in its mounted position on the inner container 2. In most cases, the overall height 21 of the shell is slightly less than the container height 9 of the inner container 2 in the same spatial direction - namely in the direction of the longitudinal axis 8. As shown in Fig. 1 in the lower left corner area of the combination packaging container 1 shown in section and in the enlarged illustration in Fig.2, it can be provided that an additional support device 23 is provided or formed in the area or in the section of the first end face 19 of the blank 13 or of the outer part 12 formed therefrom by solely deforming the material of the blank 13. The additional support device 23 serves or is designed to ensure that the outer part 12 is or will be supported even more securely in the axial direction on the shoulder 11 of the inner container 2 until it is detached. The additional support device 23 is further designed such that a clear internal dimension of the finished formed outer part 12 is smaller than the undeformed design. The bottom-side end face 19 of the outer part 12 already forms or defines the support area interacting with the shoulder 11, which is further improved, in particular enlarged, and made more secure by the provision or formation of the additional support device 23.
[0094] In this first exemplary embodiment shown here, the additional support device 23 comprises at least one support element 24, but preferably a plurality of support elements 24 arranged at a distance from one another along the first end face 19, which support elements 24 are distributed over the circumference of the sleeve-shaped outer part 12. The individual support elements 24 can be formed into the material of the blank 13 by forming or embossing and are thus each an integral part of the blank 13. The support elements 24 are formed and thus formed starting from an outer surface 25 of the outer part 12 in the direction of an inner surface 26. They thus protrude in the radial direction beyond the undeformed inner surface 26 in the direction of the longitudinal axis 8. The projection can have a value that originates from a value range whose lower limit is 0.05 mm, in particular 0.1 mm, and whose upper limit is 0.5 mm, in particular 0.2 mm.
[0095] In an alternative embodiment (not shown), the outer part 12 can be folded inward or has a fold in the area of the first end face 19. A function of the support device 23 can be achieved by this fold.
[0096] In Fig. 3, the blank 13 for forming the outer part 12 previously described in Figs. 1 to 2 is shown in its undeformed, flat position, wherein the same reference numerals or component designations are used for the same parts as in the preceding Figs. 1 to 2. To avoid unnecessary repetition, reference is made to the detailed description in the preceding Figs. 1 to 2.
[0097] As can be seen from Fig. 3, the adhesive layer 22 can be applied to the outer surface 25 of the blank 13 in the region of the first end portion 14. The adhesive layer 22 can be applied shortly before the blank 13 is formed into the outer part 12.
[0098] As further evident from Fig. 3, the adhesive layer 22 can be segmented. In particular, a first adhesive segment 27 and a second adhesive segment 28 can be formed, which are separated from one another by a first interruption 29. Furthermore, additional adhesive segments 30 can be formed, which are also arranged spaced apart from one another along a longitudinal extension 31. In particular, the individual adhesive segments 27, 28, 30 can be arranged in a regular pattern.
[0099] The adhesive layer 22 can run parallel to the first longitudinal edge 17. In particular, the adhesive layer 22 can have a longitudinal extension 31 in a direction extending from the first end face 19 to the second end face 20.
[0100] Furthermore, it is conceivable that the adhesive layer 22 has a length 32. The length 32 of the adhesive layer 22 can extend from the first adhesive segment 27 to the last of the adhesive segments 30.
[0101] Furthermore, it can be provided that the adhesive layer 22 has an adhesive layer width 33.
[0102] In the present exemplary embodiment according to Figure 3, the individual adhesive segments 27, 28, 30 can have an elongated shape. The individual adhesive segments 27, 28, 30 can have an approximately rectangular shape in plan view. Due to the application of the adhesive segments 27, 28, 30, the shape can be rounded at the corners in plan view. Furthermore, it can be provided that the first adhesive segment 27 has an adhesive segment length 46. An adhesive segment length of the further adhesive segments 28, 30 can be the same as the adhesive segment length 46 of the first adhesive segment 27.
[0103] The length 32 and the adhesive layer width 33 of the adhesive layer 22 can thus be clearly defined.
[0104] Furthermore, the blank 13 can have a longitudinal edge length 34 in the region of the first end section 14, in particular at the first longitudinal edge 17. When considering the longitudinal edge length 34, any shortening of the actual longitudinal edge length due to rounding or a chamfer is disregarded. The entire extension of the blank 13 between the first end face 19 and the second end face 20 is thus considered as the longitudinal edge length 34.
[0105] As can also be seen from Fig. 3, it can be provided that the adhesive layer 22 is arranged at a distance 35 from the second longitudinal edge 18 in the wound state. The position of the second longitudinal edge 18 in the wound state in the illustration according to Fig.
[0106] 3 is indicated schematically by the dashed line.
[0107] The adhesive layer 22 contacts the blank 13 at an adhesive contact surface 36.
[0108] Furthermore, it can be provided that the first adhesive segment 27 and the second adhesive segment 28 are arranged at a first interruption distance 37 from one another.
[0109] Fig. 4 shows a further and possibly independent embodiment of the blank 13 or of the adhesive layer 22 applied to the blank 13, wherein the same reference numerals or component designations are used for the same parts as in the preceding Figs. 1 to 3. To avoid unnecessary repetition, reference is made to the detailed description in the preceding Figs. 1 to 3.
[0110] As can be seen from Fig. 4, it can be provided that the first adhesive segment 27 and the second adhesive segment 28 as well as further adhesive segments 30 are point-shaped. The first adhesive segment 27 can have a first adhesive segment diameter 38. The second adhesive segment 28 can have a second adhesive segment diameter 39. The first adhesive segment diameter 38 and the second adhesive segment diameter 39 can be the same size. In particular, it can be provided that the width 33 of the adhesive layer 22 is defined by two tangents adjacent to the individual adhesive segments 27, 28, 30. In other words, the adhesive layer width 33 of the adhesive layer 22 can be the same size as the adhesive segment diameters 38, 39.
[0111] Figure 5 shows a sectional view of the outer part 12 along section line VV in Fig. 1, wherein the same reference numerals or component designations are used for the same parts as in the preceding Figs. 1 to 4. To avoid unnecessary repetition, reference is made to the detailed description in the preceding Figs. 1 to 4. For the sake of clarity, the inner container 2 is not shown in Fig. 5, but only the outer part 12.
[0112] As can be seen from Fig. 5, it can be provided that the blank 13 has a layered structure. In particular, it can be provided that a carrier layer 40 is formed, which can be made of a cellulose material, such as a cardboard material. A printing layer 41 can be applied to the carrier layer 40, which serves to visually display information on the blank 13. Furthermore, a sealing layer 42 can be formed, which covers the printing layer 41. In particular, it can be provided that the outer surface 25 is formed on the sealing layer 42. Furthermore, it can be provided that the inner surface 26 is formed on the carrier layer 40.
[0113] As further evident from Fig. 5, it can be provided that the printing layer 41 and the sealing layer 42 are recessed in a recess at the first end section 14. In particular, this can ensure that the adhesive layer 22 lies directly against or is applied to the carrier layer 40 in both the first end section 14 and the second end section 15.
[0114] Furthermore, it can be provided that the recess at which the printing layer 41 and the sealing layer 42 are cut out is dimensioned such that it is smaller than the overlap area 16. This allows for a print or graphic representation that appears uninterrupted from the outside. In the view according to Fig. 5, for the sake of simplicity or better illustration, the recess at which the printing layer 41 and the sealing layer 42 are cut out is shown larger than the overlap area 16.
[0115] Separating, disposing of, and subsequently recycling the different materials presents a major challenge. The inner container 2 is usually made of a plastic or a degradable material that can be thermoformed. The outer part 12 is preferably made of a cellulose material. The blank 13 can also be provided with a printed image on at least one of its flat sides, namely the outer surface 25 and / or the inner surface 26.
[0116] Since the separation process of the outer part 12 from the inner container 2 is usually not carried out or only partially carried out by consumers, it can further be provided here that the adhesive layer 22 arranged in the overlapping region 16 is designed such that the first end section 14 and the second end section 15 can be separated from one another again in the overlapping region 16 from the coupled state. This can preferably be achieved in that, when a desired separation force is reached, the first end section 14 and the second end section 15 are separated from one another in the overlapping region 16 at the adhesive layer 22. In this case, a part adhering to the adhesive layer 22 can be torn out by the adhesive layer 22 either from the carrier layer 40 of the first end section 14 or from the carrier layer 40 of the second end section 15.In other words, the carrier layer 40 is loaded beyond its tensile strength.
[0117] In particular, it can be provided that the carrier layer 40 has such a tensile strength or the adhesive contact surface 36 is dimensioned depending on the tensile strength of the carrier layer 40 in such a way as to ensure sufficient mutual hold of the two end sections 14, 15 against one another under the usual loads on a filled combination packaging container 1. However, if a compressive force -F- is applied to an empty combination packaging container 1 that is to be separated, and the outer part 12 and the container shell 4 of the combination packaging container 1 are spatially deformed in the process, the tensile strength of the carrier layer 40 can be exceeded and the end sections 14, 15 held together become detached from one another, at least in sections. The compressive force - F - can be applied to the combination packaging container 1 in a wide variety of directions and is at least partially converted into a separation force that at least partially separates the overlapping area 16.
[0118] For example, compression can be performed in the radial and / or axial directions. This spatially deforms the entire combination packaging container 1. When a compressive force -F- is applied in the axial direction, the outer part 12 and the container shell 4 bend toward the longitudinal axis 8, allowing the overlapping area 16 to be separated.
[0119] By providing or forming the additional support device 23 in the immediately adjacent edge region to the first end face 19, the sleeve-shaped outer part 12 can be supported even better and more securely in the axial direction on the shoulder 11 of the inner container 2 without the use or necessity of an additional adhesive. The previously additional adhesive point between the inner surface 26 of the outer part 12 and the container shell 4, which was previously provided for safety reasons, can thus be omitted and no longer needs to be provided. Thus, when separating the overlapping area 16 with the adhesive used, an unwanted adhesive connection between the outer part 12 and the inner container 2 can be avoided.
[0120] This means that the user of the combination packaging container 1 can forego the separation process and can dispose of the entire combination packaging container 1.
[0121] Furthermore, for the separation process to be carried out by one person, it would be possible for the combination packaging container to be placed on a support surface either with its closed end or with the open end of the inner container, and then the compressive force -F- to be exerted on the end facing away from the support surface in the direction of the support surface. Depending on the arrangement and setup of the combination packaging container, the compressive force can be easily applied to the combination packaging container and introduced into it, for example, using human force. The risk of injury can be minimized with an arrangement in which the compressive force is applied to the floor.
[0122] It would also be possible to exert the compressive force -F- on the combination packaging container in a parallel orientation with respect to a longitudinal axis extending between the open end and the closed end, or in an orientation at an angle to the longitudinal axis. This allows the compressive force, with a parallel force application, to be easily redirected, at least for the most part, into a tearing force acting in a predominantly radial direction, which leads to the outer part bursting open in its overlapping area. If the force application direction deviates from this, the spatial deformation can also cause the overlapping area to separate.
[0123] If the previously described separation area is also provided, the separation process of the combination packaging container 1 into its various components can be carried out either by a single person or during the collection and disposal process.
[0124] In Fig. 6, a first embodiment of a nozzle 43 for producing the adhesive layer 22 is shown.
[0125] As can be seen from Fig. 6, the nozzle 43 can be provided with a plurality of recesses 44, which correspond to the shape of the adhesive segments 27, 28, 30 to be produced. An adhesive layer width 45 of the nozzle 43 can be selected such that it is adapted to the grooves 32 of the adhesive layer 22.
[0126] In Fig. 7, a further embodiment of a nozzle 43 for producing the adhesive layer 22 is shown.
[0127] As can be seen from Fig. 7, it can be provided that the nozzle 43 has a single recess 44, wherein the nozzle 43 is moved in the longitudinal extension 31 of the adhesive layer 22 and adhesive is dispensed at intervals onto the surface of the blank 13.
