[0001] According to a first aspect, the present disclosure relates to a cutting device arranged for cutting a flexible foil such as aluminium foil or cling film, the cutting device comprising: a movement guide extending in a longitudinal direction comprising a central part and two end parts provided at opposite sides of the central part; a cutter portion provided with an operating body and cutting blade for cutting the flexible foil, wherein the cutter portion is movably arranged to the movement guide for movement of the cutter portion along the movement guide upon application of a force in the longitudinal direction.

[0002] According to a second aspect, the present disclosure relates to a packing container accommodating a roll of flexible foil.

[0003] According to a third aspect, the present disclosure relates to a kit of parts comprising a cutter device according to the first aspect and a packing container according to the second aspect of the present disclosure.

[0004] According to a fourth aspect, the present disclosure relates to an assembly comprising a cutting device according to a first aspect and a packaging container according to a second aspect of the present disclosure.

[0005] A cutting device arranged for cutting a flexible foil is known from Korean Utility model number 200467084. The cutting device has a movement guide and a cutter portion, the cutter portion is movably arranged in the movement guide for movement of the cutter portion along the movement guide. The entire lower portion of the movement guide is provided with downwardly facing clamping plates for clamping the cutting device on the upstanding edge of a vertical front wall of the packaging container of the flexible foil.

[0006] The prior art cutting device described above has the disadvantage that the clamping plates are arranged to be supported upon the vertical front wall of the packaging container, giving rise to high vertical downward forces, easily leading to deformation and even tearing of the front wall. Additionally, the cutting device can quickly detach from the front wall, and closing the packaging container with its lid is difficult due to the cutting device present.

[0007] According to all aspects, the present disclosure aims to provide an improved cutting device and packaging container, allowing for a more stable assembly of the cutting device with the packaging container, so that detaching of the cutting device and deformation of the front wall is reduced and closing of the lid of the container is not obstructed by the attached cutting device.

[0008] These targets are achieved in a first aspect by providing the cutting device with a plurality of clamping arrangements that are spaced apart along the movement guide, wherein each of the clamping arrangements comprise two clamping elements arranged for clamping a sheet material between the two clamping elements.

[0009] By providing a plurality of clamping arrangements, the cutting device may be attached to the bottom wall of the packaging container, thereby obtaining a more stable assembly leading to less easily detachment and / or falling off of the cutter device and preventing obstruction of the lid of the container.

[0010] Preferably, the end parts of the movement guide extend in the longitudinal direction beyond the clamping arrangements, providing for a better attachment with the packaging container.

[0011] It is beneficial that the end parts are provided with end stops for limiting movement of the cutter portion along the movement guide, so that the cutter portion cannot become detached from the movement guide.

[0012] Advantageously, the end parts are provided with a force blocking element arranged for allowing the cutter portion to move to the central part from the end part when the force exceeds a predetermined force level and / or from the end part to the central part when the force exceeds a predetermined force level. As a result, the cutter portion is held in the best position at the force blocking element on the movement guide for cutting the flexible foil laid on the movement guide without obstructing or hampering laying down the flexible foil onto the movement guide.

[0013] Preferably, the clamping arrangements are provided at a side of the movement guide opposite of the operating body, thereby allowing for easy attachment to the packaging container.

[0014] Advantageously, the movement guide is provided with a coating arranged for increasing a friction between the movement guide and the flexible foil, thereby improving the cutting operation of the flexible foil with the cutter portion.

[0015] According to a second aspect, the present disclosure relates to a packing container accommodating a roll of flexible foil, wherein a wall of the packing container is provided with a plurality of push-ins for allowing a user to realise receiving openings in the wall, wherein the receiving openings are spaced apart and sized such that a clamping element of each of the clamping arrangements of a cutter device is receivable in a respective receiving opening in the wall for attaching the cutter device to the packing container. Now the wall of the packaging container is less weakened and a more stable connection is created between the cutting device and the packaging container.

[0016] Preferably, a fold line of the push-ins coincides with a edge of the packing container such that the push-ins are arranged for being folded against an inner side of the packing container. As a result, the clamping elements are attached to double folded material of the packing container creating a higher clamping force within the clamping arrangements of the cutting device.

[0017] It is beneficial that a width of a receiving opening of the receiving openings corresponds to a length of a clamping arrangement of the plurality of clamping arrangements in the longitudinal direction of the movement guide, thereby eliminating movement of the cutting device in the longitudinal direction of the movement guide.

[0018] Advantageously, the packing container is provided with a lid for providing a user access to the roll of flexible foil and wherein the receiving openings are provided at a side of the wall opposite to the lid. The lid can now be closed after cutting a portion of the flexible foil from the roll within the packaging container, without the need to remove the cutting device.

[0019] In a special embodiment, the wall comprises perforation lines arranged for delimiting the push-ins, thereby making it easier for a user to create the receiving openings and detaching a portion of the push-ins from the wall of the packaging container.

[0020] According to a third aspect, the present disclosure relates to a kit of parts comprising a cutter device according to the first aspect and a packing container according to the second aspect of the present disclosure.

[0021] According to a fourth aspect, the present disclosure relates to an assembly comprising: a cutting device comprising a movement guide extending in a longitudinal direction comprising a central part and two end parts provided at opposite sides of the central part, a cutter portion provided with an operating body and cutting blade for cutting the flexible foil, wherein the cutter portion is movably arranged to the movement guide for movement of the cutter portion along the movement guide upon application of a force in the longitudinal direction and a plurality of clamping arrangements that are spaced apart along the movement guide, wherein each of the clamping arrangements comprises two clamping elements arranged for clamping a sheet material between the two clamping elements; a packing container comprising a roll of flexible foil such as aluminium foil or cling film, wherein a wall of the packing container is provided with a plurality of spaced apart receiving openings, wherein a clamping element of each of the clamping arrangements is received in a respective receiving opening in a wall and the clamping elements of the clamping arrangements are clamping the cutting device to a further wall and / or a wall of the packing container; wherein the cutting device is removably clamped to the packing container.

[0022] Advantageously, a central virtual axis of the roll of flexible foil extends in the longitudinal direction, so that the flexible foil is easily disposed on the movement guide for cutting by the cutter portion.

[0023] Preferably, a length of the central part in the longitudinal direction is equal to or greater than a length of the flexible foil in the longitudinal direction, thereby providing for a easy cutting step of the flexible foil.

[0024] It is beneficial that the cutting device extends beyond the packing container, so that flexible foil having a width in the longitudinal direction corresponding to the width of the packaging container is easily disposed on the movement guide and cut by the cutter portion.

[0025] Preferably, a push-in of the push-ins and the further wall of the packing container are provided between two clamping elements of a clamping arrangement of the plurality of clamping arrangement for clamping the cutting device to the packing container.

[0027] The present disclosure will now be explained by means of a description of preferred embodiments of a cutter device and a packing container, in which reference is made to the following schematic figures, in which: Fig. 1: shows a cutting device and packaging container according to the first and second aspect of the present disclosure; Fig. 2: shows the packaging container with receiving openings created by push-ins; Fig. 3: shows the assembly of the cutting device and packing container; Fig. 4: shows enlarged a cross-sectional view of the movement guide with cutter portion.

[0028] Corresponding parts are identified by the same reference numbers in each embodiment.

[0029] Fig. 1 shows a cutting device 10 according to a first aspect of this disclosure and Fig. 1, 2 show a packaging container 30 according to a second aspect of this disclosure.

[0030] The packaging container 30 comprises a roll of flexible foil 31 such as aluminium foil or cling film. A central virtual axis Y of the roll of flexible foil 31 extends in the longitudinal direction X of the movement guide 11.The packaging container 30 is an oblong box having a bottom wall 33, front wall 32, rear wall 34, two side walls 35 and a lid 36. For obtaining a portion of the flexible foil 31, the user opens the lid 36 of the packaging container and pulls out a portion of the flexible foil from the roll inside the packaging container. Subsequently, the portion of the flexible foil needed is cut from the roll by the user with the cutting device 10.

[0031] The cutting device 10 comprises a movement guide 11 extending in a longitudinal direction X comprising a central part 12 and two end parts 13, 14 provided at opposite sides of the central part 12. The movement guide 11 is provided with a cutter portion 15 having an operating body 16 and cutting blade 17 for cutting the flexible foil. The cutter portion 15 is movably arranged to the movement guide 11 for movement of the cutter portion 15 along the movement guide 11 upon application of a force in the longitudinal direction X. For cutting the portion of foil needed, the user positions the foil onto the movement guide 11 and moves the cutter portion 15 with his finger onto the operating body 16 along the movement guide 11, so that the cutting blade 17 cuts through the flexible foil and a separate portion of the flexible foil is obtained by the user for further use. In order to further facilitate the use of the cutting device 10 and to enable attaching the cutting device at the bottom part of the packaging box 30, the cutting device is provided with a plurality of clamping arrangements 19 that are spaced apart along the movement guide 11. The clamping arrangements 19 are provided at a side 23 of the movement guide 11 opposite of the operating body 16. Each of the clamping arrangements 19 comprises two clamping elements 20 arranged for clamping a sheet of material between the two clamping elements 20.

[0032] The packing container 30 is provided with a plurality of push-ins 40 in the front wall 32 for allowing a user to realise receiving openings 41 in the front wall 32 opposite to the lid 36. The receiving openings 41 are spaced apart and sized such that a clamping element 20 of the clamping arrangements 19 of a cutter device 10 is receivable in a receiving opening 41 in the front wall 32 for attaching the cutter device 10 to the packing container 30. When the user has acquired a new, unused packing container 30 as shown in Fig. 1, firstly, the user creates the receiving openings 41 in the front wall 32 by pressing the push-ins 40 in the direction of the interior of the packing container 30, see Fig. 2. As is shown in Fig. 1, the push-ins 40 are delimited by perforations lines 46 in the front wall 32. Preferably, the edge 44 between two walls, like the bottom wall 33 and the front wall 32, is not perforated, so that a fold line 43 is formed and the push-ins 40 are folded into the interior the packaging container, in Fig. 1, 2 onto the inner side 45 of the bottom wall 33 of the packaging container 30. As a result, the fold lines 43 of the push-ins 40 now coincide with the edge 44 between the bottom wall 33 and the front wall 32. Alternatively, the push-ins 40, the receiving openings 41, the fold lines 43 can also be provided at an edge between further walls 33, 34, 35 of the packing container 30, like the edge between the rear wall 34 and the bottom wall 33.

[0033] In Fig. 3 the cutting device 10 is attached with its clamping arrangements 19 in the receiving openings 41 created in the front wall 32 of the packing container 30. The clamping elements 20 of the each clamping arrangement 19 were slid onto the double folded wall portions consisting of the push-ins 40 and the bottom wall 33 at the inner side 45 thereof. As a result the clamping elements 20 are clamped on two sheets of folded over packaging wall material, thereby creating an improved attachment due to the higher clamping force. Preferably, the cutting device 10 is removably clamped to the packing container 30, so that the cutting device may be reused for a new packing container 30.

[0034] Fig. 4 shows a cross-sectional view of the cutting device 10 attached to a receiving opening 41 of the packaging container 30. The push-in 40 is detached from the front wall 32 and folded over according to arrow A onto the inner side 45 of the bottom wall 33. The fold line 43 of the push-in 40 coincides with the edge 44 between the bottom wall 33 and the front wall 32. The clamping elements 20 of the cutting device 10 are slid over the two sheets of folded over packing material formed by push-in 40 and bottom wall 33. As a result, the cutting device 10 is firmly clamped onto the bottom wall 33 of the packaging container 30.

[0035] As is shown in Fig. 3, for providing a better connection with the packaging container, the end parts 13, 14 of the movement guide 11 extend in the longitudinal direction X beyond the clamping arrangements 19. To prevent the cutter portion 15 from detaching from the movement guide 11, the end parts 13 and 14 are equipped with end stops 21 to restrict the movement of the cutter portion 15 along the movement guide 11. Furthermore the end parts 13, 14 are provided with a force blocking element 22 arranged for allowing the cutter portion 15 to move to the central part 12 from the end part 13, 14 when the force exceeds a predetermined force level and / or from the central part 12 to the end part 13, 14 when the force exceeds a predetermined force level. As a result, the cutter portion 15 is held in the best position at the force blocking element 22 on the movement guide 11 for cutting the flexible foil laid on the movement guide 11 without obstructing or hampering laying down the flexible foil onto the movement guide 11. The movement guide 11 is provided with a coating arranged for increasing a friction between the movement guide 11 and the flexible foil thereby improving the cutting operation of the flexible foil 31 with the cutter portion 15 by preventing movement of the flexible foil laid down on movement guide 11 during the cutting step.

[0036] As is shown in Fig. 1, 2, the width W of a receiving opening 41 of the receiving openings corresponds to a length D of a clamping arrangement 19 of the plurality of clamping arrangements in the longitudinal direction X of the movement guide 11 thereby preventing movement of the cutting device 10 in the longitudinal direction X of the movement guide 11.

[0037] The combination of packing container 30 with cutter device 10 may be sold together as a kit in stores, or alternatively, each component may be sold separately, as the cutter device 10 can be reused multiple times. Preferably, a length L of the central part 12 of the cutting device 10 in the longitudinal direction X is equal to or greater than a length F of the flexible foil 31 in the longitudinal direction X, so that the flexible foil 31 from the roll is easily laid down onto the movement guide 11 for cutting. The cutting device 10 extends beyond the packing container 30, so that a flexible foil 31 having a length F can be conveniently cut by the cutter portion 15 positioned in the end parts 13, 14 of the movement guide 11.
