Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a plug-in frame kit in the sense of the frame elements or frame parts required for the assembly of a plug-in frame.
[0002] Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for producing a plug-in frame kit.
[0003] Frames are a component of many doors and windows and form the frame into which door leaves or window sashes are inserted in a building opening.
[0004] Frames are often installed during the construction of a building in the designated structural openings, especially wall openings. For this purpose, one-piece frames, also called wrap-around frames, are generally used. These surround the wall on both sides of the wall opening with a roughly U-shaped profile and are installed during the wall construction.
[0005] Plug-in frames, also known as two-part frames, are particularly suitable for retrofitting because they can be conveniently inserted into existing building openings. These are divided into two frame elements, for example, a rebate element and a counter element, which each enclose the building opening on only one outer side and are connected to each other during installation in the building opening.
[0006] Plug-in frames are usually made of metal, particularly steel.
[0007] When manufacturing steel door frames designed as surround frames, three frame components—the two side panels and the headboard—are manufactured separately. First, the individual parts are machined from sheet steel and then bent to achieve the desired three-dimensional shape. This includes, for example, a rebate and / or the frame's face. The three individual components are then welded together to form a ready-to-install surround frame, or the individual components are packaged separately as so-called three-part frames and joined together during assembly.
[0008] When manufacturing plug-in frames for doors, the two side parts and the head part are manufactured separately for each frame element, so that for three-sided door frames a total of six frame parts must be manufactured.
[0009] This is significantly more complex than with one-piece frames, as the various parts must either be manufactured one after the other or a separate production line must be set up for each part. This increases the production time and / or increases the cost of production for plug-in frames.
[0010] It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a plug-in frame kit which at least partially eliminates the aforementioned disadvantages.
[0011] This object is achieved according to the invention by a plug-in frame kit according to patent claim 1.
[0012] It is a further object of the invention to provide a method for producing a plug-in frame kit which at least partially eliminates the aforementioned disadvantages.
[0013] This object is achieved according to the invention by a method according to claim 9.
[0014] Advantageous embodiments of the invention are claimed in the dependent claims.
[0015] For the following description, the building opening is defined as having a first outer side on a first side of the building opening, a second outer side on a second side opposite the first side of the building opening, and an inner side. The inner side connects the outer sides and is also referred to as the reveal. The outer sides of the building opening are generally aligned approximately parallel to each other, while the inner side is arranged approximately perpendicular to them.
[0016] In addition to wall openings, this also includes structural openings in roofs, ceilings, and floors. For a better understanding, the invention is primarily described using wall openings as an example.
[0017] The features of a plug-in frame kit and a method for producing a plug-in frame kit disclosed below are part of the invention in all executable combinations.
[0018] A plug-in frame kit according to the invention comprises at least two frame elements, wherein a first frame element is designed for mounting on a first outer side of a building opening and a second frame element is designed for mounting on a second outer side of the building opening opposite the first outer side of the building opening.
[0019] In embodiments of the invention, the first frame element is designed as a rebate element, in some embodiments comprising the rebate of the frame, and the second frame element is designed as a counter element.
[0020] The first and second frame elements can be connected to one another in the building opening to form a frame and each comprise at least three frame parts, namely two side parts and a head part.
[0021] In other embodiments, the frame assembly kit is designed for a four-sided frame. For this purpose, the frame elements each have a fourth frame part, namely the lower part.
[0022] The invention covers both embodiments of a plug-in frame kit in which the frame parts of the frame elements are each connected to one another to form a one-piece frame element, and embodiments in which the frame parts of the frame elements are individual parts that are only connected to one another during assembly of the frame.
[0023] Preferably, at least one of the frame elements has fastening means for fastening in the building opening.
[0024] According to the invention, at least two mutually associated frame parts of the frame elements of the plug-in frame kit are designed as one piece and are connected to one another via at least one predetermined breaking point.
[0025] The frame parts of the frame elements that are assigned to one another are those frame parts that, after the plug-in frame has been installed in the building opening, cover the same inside of the building opening (e.g. head part and head part of the frame elements).
[0026] Preferably, at least two pairs of mutually associated frame parts of the frame elements, particularly preferably the mutually associated side parts, of the plug-in frame kit are each designed as one piece and are each connected to one another via at least one predetermined breaking point.
[0027] In embodiments of the invention, at least three pairs of mutually associated frame parts of the frame elements, namely the mutually associated side parts and the head parts, of the plug-in frame kit are each designed as one piece and are each connected to one another via at least one predetermined breaking point.
[0028] Preferably, the pairs of mutually associated frame parts of the frame elements are each connected to one another via at least two predetermined breaking points.
[0029] The required number of predetermined breaking points is primarily determined by the residual stability required when forming the frame elements from the sheets in order to prevent unwanted breakage of the frame parts during production.
[0030] In preferred embodiments of the invention, at least two predetermined breaking points are provided on the headboard for standard-sized interior doors, and at least three predetermined breaking points are provided on the side panels with a length of less than 2100 mm. In embodiments for wider and / or taller plug-in frames, additional predetermined breaking points are provided to connect the frame parts.
[0031] Before assembly, the frame assembly kit is separated by breaking the frame elements at at least one predetermined breaking point so that the frame elements can be installed one after the other in the building opening.
[0032] In preferred embodiments of the invention, the mutually associated frame parts have corresponding plug-in elements.
[0033] The corresponding plug-in elements each comprise at least one protruding plug-in element and one receiving extension element.
[0034] For example, the frame parts of the first frame element each have at least one protruding plug-in element shaped like a nose or tongue, and the frame parts of the second frame element each have at least one correspondingly arranged receiving opening or slot.
[0035] In advantageous embodiments of the invention, the predetermined breaking points are arranged in the area of the protruding plug-in elements.
[0036] This ensures that the break point is not in the visible and external area of the installed frame, so that the break point does not necessarily have to be reworked.
[0037] In advantageous embodiments of the invention, the frame elements have connecting elements with which they can be connected to one another during assembly in the building opening.
[0038] For example, the frame elements have correspondingly arranged holes through which they can be screwed together using screws.
[0039] In embodiments of the invention, the plug-in frame kit for a door frame is designed for installation in a wall opening.
[0040] In advantageous embodiments of the invention, the frame elements of the plug-in frame kit are made of metal, preferably steel.
[0041] A method according to the invention for producing a plug-in frame kit comprising two frame elements, each having at least three frame parts, comprises at least the following method steps: Providing at least one sheet, separating the blanks of the frame parts from the at least one sheet, forming the frame parts from the blanks, wherein, according to the invention, the blanks of the mutually assigned frame parts of the frame elements are cut out of the sheet metal in one piece and connected to one another via at least one predetermined breaking point and are formed together to form the respective frame parts.
[0042] For example, the head pieces of the frame elements and the corresponding side parts of the frame elements are manufactured together in pairs and as one piece.
[0043] In embodiments of the invention, the blanks of the frame parts are separated from the sheet metal by punching or cutting processes.
[0044] In embodiments of the invention, the frame parts are formed from the blanks by means of bending processes, for example by swivel or air bending processes.
[0045] In embodiments of the invention, after the frame parts have been formed from the blanks, the frame parts are welded to form the frame elements.
[0046] In advantageous embodiments of the invention, after the forming of the frame parts or, if applicable, after welding, a surface treatment of the frame parts or frame elements takes place, for example in the form of a coating.
[0047] Door frame kits manufactured according to the method of the invention can be packaged and delivered in various configurations to meet the various needs of the market.
[0048] In a first variant, the frame parts of the frame elements are delivered connected to each other via the predetermined breaking point, allowing the frame to be broken at the installation site. This can be done either in the form of the frame parts of the plug-in frame kit that are not welded together (three parts for a three-sided frame) or in a welded state (only one part).
[0049] According to a sub-variant of the first variant, only the head sections of the frame kit are separated by breaking at at least one predetermined breaking point as part of the manufacturing process, so that the frame is already the right size for later easy assembly (offset on the head section between the opening and closing sides). Furthermore, a plug-in frame kit with pre-separated head sections is significantly easier for an installer to finally break apart at the installation site. This applies especially to plug-in frame kits with welded frame elements.
[0050] In a second variant, as part of the manufacturing process, the frame elements produced by welding the frame parts are separated by breaking them at the predetermined breaking points. The frame elements are then secured together using fasteners, particularly, for example, using the screws provided for connection during assembly. This is the form in which plug-in frame kits are currently typically offered on the market.
[0051] The first variant offers the advantage over the second variant when assembling the frame in that breaking the frame elements or frame parts is significantly faster for the experienced fitter than loosening the screws on the parts screwed together for transport, so that overall a faster assembly of the frame is possible.
[0052] In a third variant, the unwelded frame parts are separated as part of the manufacturing process. The individual frame parts of this option, known on the market as "disassembled and packaged for on-site assembly," are preferably packaged individually.
[0053] In embodiments of the invention, a plug-in frame kit for a steel frame is manufactured. For this purpose, the frame components are cut out of sheet steel.
[0054] In embodiments of the invention, a plug-in frame kit for a door frame is produced.
[0055] In preferred embodiments of a method according to the invention, a plug-in frame kit according to the invention is produced.
[0056] The following figures illustrate exemplary embodiments of the invention. They show: Figure 1: A perspective view of a section of one-piece frame parts, Figure 2: a perspective view of the separated frame parts according to Figure 1 , Figure 3: a perspective view of the nested frame parts according to the Figures 1 and 2 , Figure 4: a perspective view of the back of the nested frame parts according to Figure 3 , Figure 5: a plan view of the blanks of associated frame parts cut out of a sheet and connected to one another, Figure 6: a plug-in frame kit for a door with connected frame parts and Figure 7: a plug-in frame kit for a door with separate frame elements.
[0057] In Figure 1Two one-piece frame parts (2) of a plug-in frame kit (1) according to the invention are shown in a perspective view. The frame part (2a) of the first frame element (2) shown on the left is connected to the associated frame part (3a) of the second frame element (3) via two webs designed as predetermined breaking points (4). Between and next to the predetermined breaking points (4), the frame part (2a) of the first frame element (2) and the frame part (3a) of the second frame element (3) are separated from one another by a slot-like recess (5).
[0058] The frame part (2a) of the first frame element (2) has two tongue-like projecting plug-in elements (6) and the frame part (3a) of the second frame element (3) has two receiving plug-in elements (7) arranged correspondingly thereto and designed as slots.
[0059] The predetermined breaking points (4) are arranged in the area of the protruding plug-in elements (6) of the first frame part (2a).
[0060] The frame parts (2a, 3a) have connecting openings arranged corresponding to one another through which they can be screwed together.
[0061] The rebate (9) is formed in the frame part (3a) of the second frame element (3).
[0062] Figure 2 shows the frame parts (2a, 2b) separated from each other by breaking at the predetermined breaking points (4).
[0063] According to the Figures 3 and 4 The protruding plug-in elements (6) are inserted into the receiving plug-in elements (7) of the frame parts (2a, 3a). In this configuration, the connecting holes (8) of the frame parts (2a, 3a) are positioned one above the other, allowing a screw to be passed through each of them.
[0064] In Figure 5The blanks cut from sheet metal of three pairs of associated frame elements (2a and 3a, 2b and 3b, 2c and 3c) of a plug-in frame kit (1) for a door according to a step of the inventive manufacturing method are shown. The frame elements (2a and 3a, 2b and 3b, 2c and 3c) are connected to one another via predetermined breaking points (4) in the region of the protruding plug-in elements (6).
[0065] Between the predetermined breaking points (4), the frame elements (2a and 3a, 2b and 3b, 2c and 3c) are separated from each other by slot-like recesses (5).
[0066] The blank of the opening-side frame part (2b) of the first side part of the plug-in frame kit (1) has hinge receptacles (10). The blank of the opening-side frame part (2c) of the second side part of the plug-in frame kit (1) has the strike plate (12).
[0067] The frame parts (2b and 3b, 2c and 3c) of the side panels are each connected to each other via three predetermined breaking points (4). The frame parts (2a and 3a) of the head section are connected to each other via two predetermined breaking points (4).
[0068] Figure 6 shows a plug-in frame kit (1) for a door frame with welded frame parts of the frame elements. This means that on the opening side, the frame parts (2a, 2b, 2c) are connected, preferably welded, to the side parts in the area of the joints of the head part, and on the closing side, the frame parts (3a, 3b, 3c) are similarly connected to each other.
[0069] The frame parts (2b and 3b, 2c and 3c) of the side parts are still connected to each other via the predetermined breaking points (4), while the frame parts (2a and 3a) of the head part are already separated from each other.
[0070] In this configuration of the plug-in frame kit (1) according to the invention, the side parts are generally separated when the plug-in frame is installed at the installation site.
[0071] For mounting the opening-side frame element, consisting of the three frame parts (2a, 2b, 2c), in a wall opening, it has mounting elements (11), in this case designed as mounting brackets. The mounting brackets are screwed into place during installation of the plug-in frame after alignment in the wall opening.
[0072] In Figure 7 The frame kit (1) is in accordance with Figure (6 ) after breaking the predetermined breaking points (4), so that the frame elements (2, 3) are now separated from each other. They can then be installed in a wall opening.
