Abstract

The invention relates to a vehicle window for delimiting a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle in relation to the surroundings (16) of the motor vehicle. A first partial region (22) of the vehicle window (10) has reduced light permeability in comparison to clear glass. The first partial region (22) takes up a predominant proportion of an entire area of the vehicle window (10). The vehicle window (10) has a passage opening (24) in the first partial region (22). The vehicle window (10) comprises a second partial region (26) which is arranged in the passage opening (24) and in which the vehicle window (10) has higher light permeability than in the first partial region (22). The second partial region (26) is held in the passage opening (24) by means of a connecting element (28) which runs around the second partial region (26) and fills an annular space formed between the first partial region (22) and the second partial region (26), and the connecting element (28) provides a fastening device (36) by means of which a camera (20) can be fixed to the vehicle window (10) in the region of the passage opening (24).
