Abstract

A hinged-lid pack for delivery systems is disclosed. The hinged-lid pack is substantially parallelepiped in shape having a width and a height greater than the width. [0023] As used herein, the term “delivery system” is intended to encompass systems that deliver at least one substance to a user, and includes: combustible aerosol provision systems, such as cigarettes, cigarillos, cigars, and tobacco for pipes or for roll-your-own or for make-your-own cigarettes (whether based on tobacco, tobacco derivatives, expanded tobacco, reconstituted tobacco, tobacco substitutes or other smokable material); non-combustible aerosol provision systems that release compounds from an aerosol-generating material without combusting the aerosol-generating material, such as electronic cigarettes, tobacco heating products, and hybrid systems to generate aerosol using a combination of aerosol-generating materials; and aerosol-free delivery systems that deliver the at least one substance to a user orally, nasally, transdermally or in another way without forming an aerosol, including but not limited to, lozenges, gums, patches, articles comprising inhalable powders, and oral products such as oral tobacco which includes snus or moist snuff, wherein the at least one substance may or may not comprise nicotine. According to the present disclosure, a “combustible” aerosol provision system is one where a constituent aerosol-generating material of the aerosol provision system (or component thereof) is combusted or burned during use in order to facilitate delivery of at least one substance to a user. Claims

Claims1. A hinged-lid pack for delivery systems, the hinged-lid pack being substantially parallelepiped in shape having a width and a height greater than the width, the pack comprising a base and a lid, the lid being rotatable relative to the base between an open position and a closed position in which the lid and the base meet at a line of juncture, and a label attached to the pack that bridges the line of juncture, wherein the label has a length and a width, the length being longer than the width, wherein the length of the label is such that the label extends over at least a majority of the height of the pack, said label being configured to be broken to allow the lid to be rotated about the hinge into an open position for the first time, to provide a visible indication that the lid has previously been rotated into an open position when the lid is subsequently closed.

2. A hinged-lid pack according to claim i, wherein the base comprises a base front wall and the lid comprises a lid front wall, the base front wall and the lid front wall meeting at said line of juncture and defining a front wall of the hinged-lid pack.

3. A hinged-lid pack according to claim 1, wherein the base comprises a base side wall and the lid comprises a lid side wall, the base side wall and lid side wall meeting at said line of juncture and defining a side wall of the hinged-lid pack.

4. A hinged-lid pack according to claim 2, wherein the label bridges the line of juncture between the base front wall and lid front wall and extends over at least a majority of the height of the front wall of the hinged-lid pack.

5. A hinged-lid pack according to claim 2, wherein the label bridges the line of juncture between the base side wall and lid side wall and extends over at least a majority of the height of the side wall of the hinged-lid pack.

6. A hinged-lid pack according to any preceding claim, wherein the label comprises a line of weakness, the label being configured to separate along said line of weakness to allow the lid to be rotated into an open position for the first time.

7. A hinged-lid pack according to claim 6, wherein the label is attached to the pack such that it bridges the line of juncture in a direction extending across the length of the label with the line of weakness extending along the width of the label.

8. A hinged-lid pack according to claims 6 or 7, wherein the line of weakness comprises a tear tape formed in the label.

9. A hinged-lid pack according to claim 8, wherein the tear tape comprises a tab to enable tearing of the tear tape.

10. A hinged-lid pack according to any of claims 6 to 9, wherein the line of juncture is linear and the line of weakness in the label is non-linear.

11. A hinged-lid pack according to claim 10, wherein the line of weakness comprises a zig-zag or tortuous path that repeatedly extends across the line of juncture.

12. A collation of parallelepiped-shaped hinged-lid packs for delivery systems, each pack having a base and a lid, the lid being rotatable relative to the base between an open position and a closed position in which the lid and the base meet at a line of juncture, wherein the parallelepiped-shaped packs are arranged in the collation such that a face of each pack lies against a face of an adjacent pack along a contact plane, and a portion of the line of juncture between the lid and the base of each pack is exposed on non-contacting faces of the packs, wherein a label is attached to said non-contacting faces of the packs so as to bridge the exposed portion of the line of juncture of each pack, said label having a first line of weakness aligned with the contact plane between adjacent packs, wherein the label is configured to separate along said first line of weakness between adjacent packs when one of said packs is removed from the collation.

13. A collation according to claim 14, wherein the label comprises a second line of weakness, the label being configured to separate along the second line of weakness to allow the lid of said pack removed from the collation to be rotated about the hinge into an open position for the first time, to provide a visible indication that the lid has previously been rotated into an open position when the lid is subsequently closed.

14. A collation according to claim 13, wherein the label has parallel edges and the second line of weakness is parallel to said edges.15- A collation according to claim 14, wherein the second line of weakness is offset so that it is closer to one edge than to the other edge.

16. A collation according to any of claims 13 to 15, wherein the second line of weakness comprises a tear tape formed in the label.

17. A collation according to claim 16, wherein the tear tape comprises a tab to enable tearing of the tear tape.

18. A collation according to any of claims 13 to 17, wherein the exposed portion of the line of juncture is linear and the second line of weakness in the label is non-linear.

19. A collation according to claim 18, wherein the second line of weakness comprises a zig-zag or tortuous path that repeatedly extends across the exposed portion of the line of juncture.
