Description

[0001] Toilet insert and mobile toilet with such a toilet insert

[0002] The present invention relates to a toilet insert for use in a toilet bowl of a portable toilet, wherein the toilet insert comprises an insert bowl adapted to the interior shape of the toilet bowl, open at the top, and a drain insert formed integrally with the insert bowl, adapted to the interior shape of a toilet drain of the toilet, open at the bottom. The invention further relates to a portable toilet comprising a toilet bowl, a toilet drain, a flush rim, and a toilet insert inserted into the toilet bowl and at least partially into the toilet drain.

[0003] A toilet insert of the type described above is known from publication DE 20 2021 101 254 U1. This toilet insert is glued into the toilet bowl of a portable toilet, whose bowl is typically made of plastic, to provide a scratch- and detergent-resistant, and thus permanently hygienically cleanable, interior surface.

[0004] The familiar toilet insert fits perfectly into the interior shape of the toilet bowl. The upper edge of the familiar toilet insert sits beneath the toilet's flush rim. There, it is sealed to the toilet bowl using a silicone seal. This silicone seal is visible to the toilet user when looking into the toilet bowl from above. However, after some use, the silicone seal discolors, which can be unsightly. Furthermore, dirt can accumulate along the silicone seal.

[0005] Furthermore, the known toilet insert has the problem that, once installed, it cannot be removed from the toilet, or can only be removed with great difficulty, because it is glued into the toilet. This makes it impossible, for example, to transfer a used toilet insert to another toilet when changing camper vans. Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a toilet insert for a mobile toilet and a mobile toilet equipped therewith, which maintains a lasting aesthetic appearance and allows the toilet insert to be removed from the toilet easily and without damage.

[0006] This object is achieved by a toilet insert for use in a toilet bowl of a mobile toilet, wherein the toilet insert has an insert bowl which is adapted to an inner shape of the toilet bowl and is open at the top, and a drain insert which is formed integrally with the insert bowl and adapted to an inner shape of a toilet drain of the toilet and is open at the bottom, wherein the insert bowl has a bowl which merges into the drain insert on its underside, from the upper edge of which bowl a circumferential stand-up collar which is formed integrally with the bowl projects laterally, wherein a side elevation which is formed integrally with the stand-up collar projects upwards from an outer end of the stand-up collar, wherein a side elevation offset with a material recess is formed between a first end of the side elevation and a second end of the side elevation and the stand-up collar widens towards the side elevation offset.

[0007] The toilet insert according to the invention has the advantage that it does not need to be glued into a toilet bowl, yet remains securely in place. This is achieved in the present invention by allowing the toilet insert, with its raised collar, to be placed on the rim of the toilet, with the raised side section nestling against an inner wall of the toilet extending from the rim. The toilet insert is placed on the rim in such a way that the raised side section is positioned in front of the toilet's water inlet.

[0008] Because the side elevation offset has a material recess in the side elevation, water can be directed through the side elevation into the toilet insert via a toilet water inlet that either borders the side elevation or runs through it. The water directed into the toilet insert can then be directed onto the pop-up collar, which acts as the toilet's flush rim, so that the toilet insert can be flushed all the way around. The water pipework and distribution in the toilet insert according to the invention is very reliable, as the pop-up collar is widest in front of the side elevation offset and then tapers off across the circumference of the toilet insert.

[0009] Because the toilet insert according to the invention features the raised collar and raised sides, the seal between the toilet insert and the toilet is not, as in the prior art, in the area visible from above below the flush rim, but rather at the upper edge of the toilet bowl, which is covered by a toilet seat during use. Since this area typically receives little water or dirt, a seal there remains permanently clean and hygienic. Furthermore, any discoloration of the seal is unnoticeable.

[0010] In a preferred embodiment of the toilet insert according to the invention, the first end of the raised side section is integrally connected to the second end of the raised side section by a connecting bar connected to the support collar on its underside, with the material recess formed in the connecting bar. The size of the material recess is preferably selected such that the material of the connecting bar encloses a water inlet of the toilet.

[0011] Preferably, the entire toilet insert is made of porcelain, ceramic or metal and the entire user surface of the toilet insert facing away from the toilet bowl and towards a user is glazed and / or coated with a non-stick coating.

[0012] The object is further achieved by a mobile toilet with a toilet bowl, a toilet drain, a flushing rim and a toilet insert according to the invention inserted into the toilet bowl and at least partially into the toilet drain, wherein in the toilet the erection collar of the toilet insert rests on the flushing rim and a water inlet of the toilet ends at the side elevation offset of the toilet insert or leads through the side elevation offset.

[0013] In an advantageous embodiment of the mobile toilet according to the invention, the toilet insert is not glued into the toilet bowl, and support areas of a silicone seal rest on an upper edge of the raised side section and an upper edge of the toilet bowl. The silicone seal has a sealing lip that is inserted between the raised side section and the toilet bowl. The silicone seal ensures that the toilet insert is reliably held in the toilet bowl. In addition, the silicone seal prevents the accumulation of dirt between the toilet bowl and the toilet insert. The silicone seal is located in a position that is typically covered by a toilet seat, so that any discoloration of the silicone seal that occurs over time does not impair the overall aesthetic appearance of the toilet.

[0014] The sealing lip preferably has cups or transversely upward-projecting barbs along its circumference. The cups, which act as suction means, or the barbs, which create resistance, hold the silicone seal securely and permanently in place.

[0015] Preferred embodiments of the present invention are illustrated in the figures, the structure of which is explained below, wherein

[0016] Figure 1 schematically shows an embodiment of a toilet insert according to the invention in a perspective view from above and from the side;

[0017] Figure 2 shows schematically the toilet insert of Figure 1 in a perspective view from below and from the side;

[0018] Figure 3 schematically shows an embodiment of a mobile toilet according to the invention with a toilet insert according to the invention inserted therein;

[0019] Figure 4 schematically shows a transition between a toilet insert according to the invention inserted into a mobile toilet and a toilet bowl of the mobile toilet with an inserted silicone seal according to a first variant; and

[0020] Figure 5 schematically shows a transition between a toilet insert according to the invention inserted into a mobile toilet and a toilet bowl of the mobile toilet with an inserted silicone seal according to a second variant.

[0021] Figures 1 and 2 schematically show an embodiment of a toilet insert 1 according to the invention in different perspective views. In Figure 3, the toilet insert 1 is installed in a mobile toilet 10. The mobile toilet can be, for example, a camping toilet, a mobile toilet for leisure use, such as in a garden, a mobile toilet for use on construction sites, a toilet for use in the care sector that can be moved from room to room, an ecological toilet, or a separate toilet.

[0022] The toilet insert 1 is constructed in one piece. In the illustrated embodiment, the toilet insert 1 is made of porcelain, which is glazed on an inner area, i.e., the area facing the user of the toilet insert 1. A non-stick coating may be applied to the glaze, but this is not required. Alternatively, the toilet insert can also be made of ceramic or metal.

[0023] The shape of the toilet insert 1 is adapted to the interior of a toilet bowl 12 and a toilet drain 13 of the mobile toilet 10. An insert bowl 2 of the toilet insert 1 is adapted to the interior shape of the toilet bowl 12, and a drain insert 3 of the toilet insert 1 is adapted to the interior shape of the toilet drain 13.

[0024] The insert bowl 2 of the toilet insert has a bowl 21, the shape of which is adapted to a bowl-shaped portion of the toilet bowl 12. A raised collar 23 of the toilet insert 1 projects outward from an upper end 22 of the bowl 21. The raised collar 23 is designed such that it can rest on a flush rim 14 of the toilet 10, which projects outward from the bowl-shaped portion of the toilet bowl 12.

[0025] A side elevation 25 of the toilet insert 1 projects upwards from an outer edge 24 of the support collar 23. The height h of the side elevation 25 is adapted to the height H of a flush wall 15 projecting upwards from the flush rim 14 of the toilet 10, so that, as can be seen schematically in Figure 4, when the toilet insert 1 is inserted into the toilet 1, an upper edge 251 of the side elevation 25 and an upper edge 151 of the flush wall 15 are at the same height.

[0026] The side elevation 25 has a side elevation offset 28 formed between a first end 26 of the side elevation 25 and a second end 27 of the side elevation. The side elevation offset 28 is adapted to a corresponding offset of the toilet bowl 2, at which a water inlet 11 of the toilet 10 is provided.

[0027] In the area of the lateral elevation offset 28, the lateral elevation 25 has a material recess 29. In simple embodiments of the toilet insert 1 according to the invention, the material recess 29 can be realized by completely recessing the area of the lateral elevation offset 28 or by removing the material there. In the embodiment of the toilet insert 1 illustrated in the figures, a connecting bar 30 is formed in the area of the lateral elevation offset between the first end 26 and the second end 27, into which the material recess 29 is introduced in the form of a through-opening.

[0028] As can be seen schematically in Figure 3, the water inlet 11 of the toilet 10, of which only a part can be seen in Figure 3, can protrude into or through the material recess 29.

[0029] In the installed state shown in Figure 3, the underside of the support collar 23 rests on the top side of the flush rim 14 of the mobile toilet 10. Furthermore, the water inlet 11 is guided through the material recess 29. The outer side of the side elevation 25 rests against the inner side of the flush wall 15.

[0030] As schematically shown in Figure 4, the upper edges 251 and 151 of the side elevation 25 and the flush wall 15 are connected to each other by a silicone seal 4. The silicone seal 4 has a sealing lip 40 projecting between the flush wall 15 and the side elevation 25, which, in the example of Figure 4, has barbs 41 projecting upwards laterally.

[0031] As is schematically illustrated in the embodiment shown in Figure 5, a silicone seal 4' connecting the flushing wall 15 and the side elevation 25 can also have a sealing lip 40' inserted between the flushing wall 15 and the side elevation 25, which has cups, i.e. negative knobs.

[0032] For hygienic reasons, medical silicone is preferably used for the formation of the silicone seal 4, 4'.

[0033] As can be seen in Figure 3, the toilet insert 1 is not glued into the mobile toilet 10. It is merely fixed to the toilet 10 by means of the silicone seal 4. The toilet insert 1 lines the entire interior of the toilet bowl 12 of the toilet 10, including the flushing rim 14 and the flushing wall 15 up to the upper edge 115 of the flushing wall 15. The toilet insert 1 thus forms a closed toilet bowl within the toilet bowl 12 of the toilet 10. Accordingly, when the toilet insert 1 according to the invention is inserted into the toilet 10, there is no visible yellowed silicone, no maintenance joints, and no dirt marks.
