Description

[0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of baby carrying devices particularly to a new lightweight, handy and safe baby carrier.

[0002] The emergence of baby carrying devices, such as baby carriers or baby slings allows more and more parents to have their hands free from carrying their children without compromising intimate contact with their babies. For example, baby carriers can be divided into side carrying type, front facing carrying type, face to face carrying type and back carrying type. There are different baby carriers with multiple functions.

[0003] The baby carrier should be ergonomic not only to reduce the burden on the user, but also because the baby's muscles and bones are still very weak, so it is more important that the baby carrier supports the baby's buttocks, waist and head to avoid bending and unnecessary pressure, and to ensure the baby's comfort and safety. However, the existing baby carrier cannot be adjusted so that the baby feels uncomfortable when sitting in it. Baby carriers are described in WO 2022 / 084181 A1, WO 2022 / 066013 A1 and WO 2020 / 115208 A1.

[0004] According to a study published in Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals on March 13, 2017, a child under the age of three is injured every eight minutes in the U.S. in connection with baby products such as strollers, baby carriers, cribs and walkers. That is an average of more than 66,000 injuries per year, and that is just counting infants and toddlers who go to the emergency room. The most common culprit was baby carriers, which accounted for almost 20 percent of accidents. Injuries can occur when parents do not use the buckles and safety harnesses correctly or when babies are placed on a high surface such as a table or counter rather than on the floor (https: / / www.reuters.com / article / us-health-children-unjuries-idUSKBN16K27E / ).

[0005] The known baby carriers are difficult to handle when placing the baby in them. The user, father or mother, needs both hands to fasten the connections. There is an increased risk that the baby will fall out of the baby carrier and injuring itself. There is a need to make the baby carrier safer and easier to handle, especially when placing babies in the baby carrier.

[0006] The object of the present invention is to provide an easy-to-use baby carrier in which the baby is safe from falling out and injury when placed in the baby carrier.

[0007] The problem of the present invention is solved by a baby carrier according to independent claims 1, 12 and 14. Preferred embodiments of the invention are described in the dependent subclaims.

[0008] The problem of the present invention is particularly solved by a baby carrier, which comprises a waist belt, shoulder straps, vest and a body carrier. The shoulder straps and the waist belt are connected to opposite ends of the vest respectively in a longitudinal direction of the vest. One end of the body carrier is connected to the waist belt, and another end of the body carrier is detachably connected with the shoulder straps. A carrying space is formed between the vest and the body carrier. The body carrier and the vest are both connected with the same side of the waist belt. The body carrier is turnover relative to the vest. Two ends of the top side of the body carrier are provided with two connecting members, and the shoulder straps are each provided with a matching connecting member. The connecting member of the body carrier is attached to the connecting member of the shoulder strap with one hand. The two cutouts for the baby's legs are adjusted to the age, height and weight of the baby by the leg adjusting members.

[0009] The baby carrier of the present invention surprisingly provides a high level of safety. The cutouts provide comfort and freedom of movement for the baby's legs by adjusting the cutouts to the appropriate size, age, height and weight of the baby through the leg adjustment elements. The cutouts are made of comfortable material, preferably memory foam, to prevent pressure points on the baby's legs. The design of the adjustable leg cutouts is mainly to secure the baby and prevent any backward or forward movements when placing the baby in the baby carrier. It prevents the baby from falling out of the carrier area and further increases the safety of use. This strengthens the connection between the baby and the user and further improves the safety of use.

[0010] Once the baby's legs are in the adjustable cutouts, it is impossible for the baby to fall out of the baby carrier. The baby is safe no matter what or how the baby sits or moves. The baby carrier of the present invention is safe and secure when placing the baby in the baby carrier and while being carried. Even in the unfortunate event that the baby becomes loose while being placed in the baby carrier, the baby will be prevented from falling to the floor because the legs are held in the adjustable cutouts and prevent the baby from falling to the floor.

[0011] A great advantage of the baby carrier of the present invention is the simple and safe handling, especially when placing the baby in the baby carrier. The connecting elements are preferably buckles, preferably pin buckles, snap buckles or snap fasteners. They are made of rigid polymer, particularly polyacetal. The connecting element is clamped between the thumb and index finger and hooked onto the pin. When the connecting element is released, the relaxed connecting element snaps into place and is connected to the pin. Snapping into place is very simple and requires little effort with one hand. This is advantageous for a user with limited strength, an elderly person or a person with a handicap.

[0012] A preferred embodiment of the present invention is connecting members arranged at head and tail ends of the waist belt and connecting members that detachably connect the vest and the body carrier to each other on the left and right. The detachable connection between the vest and the body carrier can be easily released and fastened.

[0013] The connecting members may be advantageously male and female buttons that match with each other. Each group may consist of, but is not limited to, matching buttons, matching Velcro fasteners, or matching fastening buckles and fastening holes, etc. The fasteners are preferably male and female buckles, preferably pin buckles, snap buckles, or snap fasteners. The male or female members may be attached to a strap to be adjusted to the actual baby size of the baby. They are made of stiff polymer, especially of polyacetal. The additional connecting members provide an additional security and safety for the baby in baby carrier.

[0014] A preferred embodiment of the present invention is a baby carrier in which the cutouts for the legs contain comfortable material preferably memory foam. The cutouts provide comfort and freedom of movement for the baby's legs by adjusting the cutouts. The design of the adjustable leg cutouts is mainly to secure the baby and prevent any backward or forward movements when placing the baby in the baby carrier.

[0015] A preferred embodiment of the present invention is a baby carrier that includes a body size adjustment element. This is advantageous in adjusting the size of the baby carrier to the body size of the baby and to the sitting position of the baby in the baby carrier.
