Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a sanitary wall mounting device for a shower body, in particular a shower head body, according to the preamble of claim 1 and to a sanitary shower device with such a wall mounting device.
[0002] The sanitary wall mounting device comprises a wall connection unit with a wall-mountable base body having at least one fluid inlet, a shower connection unit designed for mechanical and fluidic coupling of the shower body and having a connection body with at least one fluid outlet, a multi-joint mechanism designed to pivotally hold the shower connection unit on the wall connection unit in a pivot plane, and at least one fluid guide from the at least one fluid inlet of the wall connection unit via the multi-joint mechanism to the at least one fluid outlet of the shower connection unit.
[0003] A wall mounting device of this type serves to hold the multi-joint mechanism pivotally on a wall or ceiling using its wall connection unit, and to hold a shower head, such as a rain shower head, pivotally on the multi-joint mechanism and thus on the wall or ceiling using its shower head connection unit. The shower head can be adjusted in height and position using the multi-joint mechanism.
[0004] A sanitary wall mounting device of the type mentioned above is known from US patent application 2023 / 0175240 A1. The wall mounting device described therein comprises a fluid-carrying extension pipe, which is rotatably and fluid-tightly connected at one end to an outlet connection and at the other end to a shower head connection. A shower head is connected to the shower head connection and is adjustable in height and angle by means of a multi-joint mechanism formed therein from two pivot joints.
[0005] Patent application US 2005 / 0055765 A1 discloses a shower holder to which a shower head is attached. The shower holder includes a multi-joint mechanism that pivots the shower head to a wall. The multi-joint mechanism has a fluid-carrying connecting pipe, which is connected at one end to a first pivot unit mounted on the wall and at the other end to a second pivot unit mounted on the shower head. The shower head is adjustable in height and angle by means of the multi-joint mechanism.
[0006] The invention is based on the technical problem of providing a sanitary wall mounting device of the type mentioned above, which offers advantages over the prior art mentioned above, particularly with regard to design, ease of use, functionality and / or robustness, as well as a sanitary shower device equipped with such a wall mounting device.
[0007] The invention solves this problem by providing a sanitary wall mounting device with the features of claim 1 and a sanitary shower device with the features of claim 13. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims, the wording of which is hereby incorporated by reference into the description. This includes, in particular, all embodiments of the invention resulting from the combinations of features defined by the cross-references in the dependent claims.
[0008] In the sanitary wall mounting device according to the invention, the multi-joint mechanism is designed to hold the shower connection unit on the wall connection unit in a pivotally movable manner within the pivot plane, allowing for combined height and angle adjustment. Combined height and angle adjustment means that a pivoting movement of the multi-joint mechanism simultaneously adjusts both the height and the angle of the shower connection unit or a shower head attached to it. The multi-joint mechanism also comprises two pivot arms, which are pivotably mounted on the wall connection unit at one end about parallel pivot axes on the wall side and are pivotally coupled to the shower connection unit at the other end about parallel pivot axes on the shower head side. The pivot arms of the multi-joint mechanism are pivotable within the pivot plane.
[0009] This configuration with its special multi-joint mechanism offers several advantages in terms of the design, construction, and ease of use of the wall mounting device. This unique arrangement allows the height and angle of the shower connection unit to be adjusted with a single movement. The swivel arms can be individually positioned and are preferably self-locking in any position. The wall mounting device also allows for easy adjustment of the self-locking force of the swivel arms, specifically tailored to the weight of the shower head. The two-arm design of the multi-joint mechanism makes the wall mounting device very robust.
[0010] The swivel arms preferably have a polygonal, e.g., rectangular, cross-section. Alternatively, the swivel arms have a round or oval cross-section.
[0011] The wall mounting device can be mounted not only on a side wall, but also on a ceiling wall and can therefore be used in the same way as a ceiling mounting device.
[0012] In a further development of the invention, the wall-side pivot axes of the pivot arms are aligned parallel to each other and spaced apart. This represents a structurally and functionally advantageous implementation of the multi-joint mechanism. The wall-side pivot axes are preferably vertically spaced apart when the device is mounted on a wall. The wall-side pivot axes are preferably perpendicular to the pivot plane, which, when the wall-mounted device is mounted on a wall, runs perpendicular to the wall. The pivot plane is essentially vertically oriented.
[0013] Additionally or alternatively, the shower-side pivot axes of the swivel arms can be aligned parallel to each other and spaced apart. The shower-side pivot axes are preferably vertically spaced apart when mounted on a wall. The shower-side pivot axes are preferably horizontally spaced apart when mounted on a wall. The shower-side pivot axes are preferably perpendicular to the pivot plane, which, when the wall-mounted bracket is mounted on a wall, runs perpendicular to the wall.
[0014] In an advantageous embodiment, all pivot axes, i.e., both the pivot axes on the wall connection unit and on the shower connection unit, are arranged parallel to each other. The pivot axes preferably run essentially horizontally when the wall mounting device is installed on the wall.
[0015] In a further development of the invention, the pivot arms are arranged overlapping in a horizontal direction parallel to the wall-side pivot axes and spaced apart from each other in a vertical direction. In other words, when viewed from the front, the pivot arms overlap, preferably overlapping, in the horizontal direction. Both pivot arms are thus intersected by the essentially vertical pivot plane. This represents a structurally and functionally advantageous implementation of the wall mounting device. The pivot arms can be arranged one above the other, resulting in a particularly compact design.
[0016] In a further development of the invention, one of the pivot arms, in particular an upper pivot arm, has a greater axial length than the other pivot arm, in particular a lower pivot arm. This represents a structurally and functionally advantageous implementation for the height and angle adjustment of the wall mounting device. In alternative embodiments, the two pivot arms have an identical axial length.
[0017] In a further development of the invention, the wall connection unit and / or the shower connection unit each have a connecting web for each swivel arm. Each swivel arm is arranged with both ends on one of the connecting webs and is pivotably connected to the wall connection unit on one side and the shower connection unit on the other, in particular by means of a screw or bolt connection. In an alternative embodiment, either only the wall connection unit or only the shower connection unit has a connecting web for each swivel arm, and each swivel arm is arranged with only one of its two ends on the connecting web.
[0018] In one embodiment of the invention, the swivel arms each have a recess at both ends, with each connecting web engaging in or being received by one of the recesses. This represents a structurally and functionally advantageous implementation of a connection between the swivel arms on the one hand and the wall connection unit and / or the shower connection unit on the other. The recesses are preferably arranged at one end face of the swivel arms. In alternative embodiments, the swivel arms are arranged laterally at one or both ends of the respective connecting web and connected to it, depending on the specific embodiment.
[0019] In a further development of the invention, at least one of the pivot arms has a laterally arranged fluid inlet. Additionally or alternatively, this at least one pivot arm has a laterally arranged fluid outlet. This pivot arm is fluid-carrying. In an advantageous embodiment, in which the at least one pivot arm has a laterally arranged fluid inlet and a laterally arranged fluid outlet, the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet preferably extend or open in a common direction, advantageously perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the pivot arm.
[0020] In an advantageous embodiment, both swivel arms are fluid-carrying, meaning each swivel arm has a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. This makes it easy to use the wall mounting device, together with a shower head connected to it, to provide a shower system with two different spray patterns and / or with two different fluids. The fluid inlet and outlet of one swivel arm preferably extend in opposite directions compared to the fluid inlet and outlet of the other swivel arm.
[0021] In one embodiment of the invention, the fluid inlet and fluid outlet of the at least one fluid-carrying swivel arm each have a round connection opening that is coaxial with the associated swivel axis. In alternative embodiments, either only the fluid inlet or only the fluid outlet has a round connection opening. As an alternative to the round connection opening, the fluid inlet or the fluid outlet can, for example, have a simple push-fit connection with a hose.
[0022] In one embodiment of the invention, the wall-mountable base body has at least one wall-side, rear fluid connection on a swivel arm mounting side. The connection body also has at least one shower-side, front fluid connection on a swivel arm mounting side. Furthermore, the at least one fluid-carrying swivel arm has a fluid channel from the rear fluid connection of the wall connection unit to the front fluid connection of the shower connection unit. This represents a structurally and functionally advantageous implementation of the fluid flow from the fluid inlet of the wall connection unit, via the multi-joint mechanism, to the fluid outlet of the shower connection unit.
[0023] In an advantageous embodiment, the wall mounting device has two separate fluid channels between the fluid inlet of the wall connection unit and the fluid outlet of the shower connection unit. Advantageously, the wall connection unit has two fluid inlets and the shower connection unit has two fluid outlets, with each fluid channel corresponding to one fluid inlet of the wall connection unit and one fluid outlet of the shower connection unit. In advantageous embodiments, the wall connection unit has a first rear fluid connection and a second rear fluid connection on the swivel arm connection side. The shower connection unit has a first front fluid connection and a second front fluid connection on the swivel arm connection side. The first rear fluid connection of the wall connection unit is fluidically connected to the first front fluid connection of the shower connection unit via one of the two swivel arms, and the second rear fluid connection of the wall connection unit is fluidically connected to the second front fluid connection of the shower connection unit via the other of the two swivel arms. In corresponding versions, the swivel arms each have a fluid channel, with one of the two swivel arms being fluidically connected at one end to the first rear fluid connection of the wall connection unit and at the other end to the first front fluid connection of the shower connection unit, and the second of the two swivel arms being fluidically connected at one end to the second rear fluid connection of the wall connection unit and at the other end to the second front fluid connection of the shower connection unit.
[0024] In one embodiment of the invention, the front fluid connections form deflection bends with a deflection of at least 60°, preferably at least 90°, wherein the front fluid connections are preferably each designed as separate components. Additionally or alternatively, the rear fluid connections form deflection bends with a deflection of at least 60°, preferably at least 90°, wherein the rear fluid connections are preferably each designed as separate components.
[0025] In a further development of the invention, the multi-joint mechanism can be pivoted steplessly or in multiple stages between two pivoting end positions into self-locking pivot positions for the shower connection unit. This represents a structurally and functionally advantageous implementation of the wall mounting device, since the height and angle of a shower head connected to the wall mounting device can be individually and easily adjusted for each user.
[0026] In one embodiment of the invention, at least one of the swivel arms, particularly at an end facing the shower connection unit, has at least one angle limiting stop which limits the swivel movement of the swivel arm in an associated swivel end position. This ensures that, on the one hand, the swivel arms of the wall mounting device do not come into contact with each other during the swivel movement, and on the other hand, the wall mounting device itself or a shower head connected to it does not collide with the wall or ceiling when swiveled in the mounted state. In corresponding embodiments, at least one of the swivel arms has two angle limiting stops at at least one of its end faces, wherein one of the two angle limiting stops limits the swivel movement in a first direction and the other of the two angle limiting stops limits the swivel movement in a second direction opposite to the first direction. In advantageous embodiments, both swivel arms have two angle limiting stops at one end face, preferably at the end face facing the shower connection unit.
[0027] In a further development of the invention, at least one of the pivot arms extends transversely at an end facing the wall connection unit, in particular in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the pivot arm. This represents a structurally and functionally advantageous implementation of the wall mounting device, as it increases the pivot range of the multi-joint mechanism. In corresponding embodiments, both pivot arms extend transversely at their end facing the wall connection unit.
[0028] The sanitary shower device according to the invention comprises the wall mounting device according to the invention and a shower head, in particular a shower head, which is coupled to the shower connection unit and fluidically connected to it. In the shower device, the shower head is pivotally mounted by the wall mounting device in a manner that allows for height and angle adjustment. The wall mounting device makes it possible to adjust the height and angle of the shower head with a single movement.
[0029] In a further development of the invention, the shower connection unit has a first fluid outlet and a second fluid outlet on one side of the shower coupling, and the shower head has a first fluid chamber fluidically connected to the first fluid outlet of the shower connection unit and a separate second fluid chamber fluidically connected to the second fluid outlet of the shower connection unit. This represents a structurally and functionally advantageous implementation of the shower device. In corresponding embodiments, both swivel arms are fluid-carrying, and each swivel arm is assigned to one of the two fluid chambers.
[0030] Advantageous embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the drawings and described below. These and further embodiments of the invention are described in more detail below. The drawings show: Fig. 1 a perspective side view of a sanitary wall mounting device according to the invention, Fig. 2 a side view of the wall mounting device according to Fig. 1 in a lower pivoting position of the wall mounting device, with covers on a wall connection unit and a shower connection unit hidden, Fig. 3 the side view of Fig. 2 in an upper pivoting position of the wall mounting device, Fig. 4 a perspective side view of the wall mounting device according to Fig. 3 , Fig. 5 a sectional view along a line VV of Fig. 2 , Fig. 6 a sectional view along a line VI-VI of Fig. 2 , Fig. 7 a sectional view along a line VII-VII of Fig. 3 , Fig. 8 perspective side view of one of the two swivel arms of the wall mounting device and Fig. 9 a perspective side view of a sanitary shower device according to the invention with the sanitary wall mounting device according to the invention.
[0031] As illustrated in the figures using an exemplary embodiment, the sanitary shower device according to the invention comprises a wall mounting device 1 according to the invention and a shower body 2, which is coupled to the shower connection unit 12 and fluidically connected to it. In the embodiment shown, the shower body 2 is designed as a shower head 3, as shown in the Fig. 9 shown.
[0032] The wall mounting device 1 according to the invention is designed for coupling a shower head 2, in particular a shower head 3. The wall mounting device 1 comprises a wall connection unit 4 with a wall-mountable base body 5, which has at least one fluid inlet 7, 8. In the example shown, the wall-mountable base body 5 has two fluid inlets 7, 8. The wall mounting device 1 further comprises a shower connection unit 12, which is designed for the mechanical and fluidic coupling of the shower head 2 or the shower head 3. The shower connection unit 12 has a connection body 13 with at least one fluid outlet 18, 19. In this example, the connection body 13 has two fluid outlets 18, 19, as shown in the Fig. 3 The wall mounting device 1 also comprises a multi-joint mechanism 38, which is configured to pivotally hold the shower connection unit 12 on the wall connection unit 4 in a pivot plane SE, and at least one fluid guide from the at least one fluid inlet 7, 8 of the wall connection unit 4 via the multi-joint mechanism 38 to the at least one fluid outlet 18, 19 of the shower connection unit 12. The pivot plane SE corresponds to the plane of the drawing in the Fig. 2 and 3 and is in the Fig. 5 The multi-joint mechanism 38 is designed to hold the shower connection unit 12 pivotally movable in the pivot plane SE on the wall connection unit 4, as shown in particular in the Fig. 2 and 3The multi-joint mechanism 38 comprises two pivot arms 20, 21, which are pivotally mounted at one end on the wall connection unit 4 about parallel wall-side pivot axes SA 1, SA 2, and are pivotally coupled at the other end to the shower connection unit 12 about parallel shower-side pivot axes SA 3, SA 4. The wall-side pivot axes SA 1, SA 2 are located as shown in the Fig. 2 and 3 shown, perpendicular to the pivot plane SE, which runs perpendicular to the wall on which the wall mounting device 1 is mounted.
[0033] In the illustrated embodiment, a clockwise pivoting movement of the multi-joint mechanism 38 or of the two pivot arms 20, 21 causes a counterclockwise pivoting of the shower connection unit 12, and vice versa, as shown in the Fig. 2 and 3 as is evident.
[0034] In the wall mounting device 1, in the example shown, covers 43, 44 are arranged on the base body 5 and on the connecting body 13, respectively, on the side facing the swivel arms 20, 21, as shown in the Fig. 1 The covers 43 and 44 are provided for aesthetic reasons, as well as for splash protection and easier cleaning.
[0035] In the embodiment shown, the swivel arms 20, 21 have a rectangular cross-section, as in the Fig. 5 shown.
[0036] In the examples shown, the sanitary wall mounting device 1 is mounted on a side wall (not shown), i.e., a structural or building-side wall in the narrower sense. In alternative embodiments (not shown), the wall mounting device 1 is mounted on a ceiling wall (i.e., a structural or building-side ceiling).
[0037] In the embodiment shown, the wall-side pivot axes SA 1, SA 2 of the pivot arms 20, 21 are aligned parallel to each other and spaced apart from each other, and the shower-side pivot axes SA 3, SA 4 of the pivot arms 20, 21 are aligned parallel to each other and spaced apart from each other, as shown in the Fig. 3 is shown.
[0038] In the illustrated version, all four pivot axes SA 1, SA 2, SA 3, SA 4 are parallel to each other, as shown in the Fig. 3 shown.
[0039] In corresponding embodiments, both the pivot axes SA 1, SA 2 on the wall connection unit 4 and the pivot axes SA 3, SA 4 on the shower connection unit 12 run horizontally, as shown in the Fig. 6 and 7 shown.
[0040] In advantageous embodiments, the pivot arms 20, 21 are arranged overlapping in a horizontal direction parallel to the wall-side pivot axes SA 1, SA 2 and spaced apart from each other in a vertical direction, as shown in the Fig. 6 As shown, in the illustrated embodiment, when viewed from the front in a horizontal direction, one swivel arm 21, in particular a lower swivel arm 21, is covered by the other swivel arm 20, in particular an upper swivel arm 20. The swivel arms 20, 21 are thus both intersected by the substantially vertical pivot plane SE.
[0041] In advantageous embodiments, one of the pivot arms 20, in particular the upper pivot arm 20, has a greater axial length than the other pivot arm 21, in particular the lower pivot arm 21, as for example in Fig. 3 shown.
[0042] In corresponding embodiments, the wall connection unit 4 and the shower connection unit 12 each have a connection bridge 26, 27 for each swivel arm 20, 21, as shown in the Fig. 6 and 7 shown.

[0044] In advantageous embodiments, each swivel arm 20, 21 is arranged with one or both end faces 36, 37 on one of the connecting webs 26, 27 and is pivotably connected to the wall connection unit 4 on one side and the shower connection unit 12 on the other. In the example shown, each swivel arm 20, 21 is pivotably attached to the corresponding connecting web 26, 27 with a bolted connection at both end faces 36, 37. For this purpose, the bolted connections, as shown in the Fig. 6 and 7As shown, a bolt 39 is mounted on each of the pivot arms 20, 21, which first passes through a bore at the end 36, 37 of the pivot arm 20, 21, through a bore at the connecting web 26, 27 of the wall connection unit 4 or the shower connection unit 12, and then engages in a retaining ring 40, with the bolt 39 being additionally secured by a setscrew 42. In the bolt connections, a friction disc 41 is arranged on both sides of the connecting web 26, 27. The friction discs 41 contribute to providing a certain amount of friction so that the pivot arms 20, 21 or the multi-joint mechanism 38 can only be moved against resistance and the wall mounting device 1 does not lower itself. Depending on the dimensions and material of the friction discs 41, a pivoting resistance or the self-holding force of the multi-joint mechanism 38 can be adjusted in this way.
[0045] In advantageous embodiments, the pivot arms 20, 21 each have a recess 24, 25 at both end sides 36, 37, wherein each connecting web 26, 27 engages in one of the recesses 24, 25, as shown in particular in Fig. Fig. 4 shown.
[0046] In advantageous embodiments, at least one of the pivot arms 20, 21 has a laterally arranged fluid inlet 28, 29 and a laterally arranged fluid outlet 30, 31, which in the example shown extend in a common direction, as in Fig. 8 for the pivot arm 21 shown therein. In the example shown, both pivot arms 20, 21 have a laterally arranged fluid inlet 28, 29 and a laterally arranged fluid outlet 30, 31, wherein the fluid inlet 28, 29 and the fluid outlet 30, 31 of one pivot arm 20, 21 extend in the opposite direction to the direction of the fluid inlet 28, 29 and the fluid outlet 30, 31 of the other pivot arm 20, 21. In the present case, both directions of extension of the fluid inlet 28, 29 and the fluid outlet 30, 31 are perpendicular to a longitudinal axis LA of the respective pivot arm 20, 21, as shown in particular in Fig. 3 shown.
[0047] In an advantageous embodiment, as in the example shown, the fluid inlet 28, 29 and the fluid outlet 30, 31 of the at least one fluid-carrying swivel arm 20, 21 each have a round connection opening 32, 33, which is coaxial to the associated swivel axis SA 1 , SA 2 , SA 3 , SA 4.
[0048] In advantageous embodiments, the wall-mountable base body 5 has at least one rear fluid connection 10, 11 on a swivel arm mounting side 9. In the embodiment shown, the base body 5 has two wall-side, rear fluid connections 10, 11, as shown in the Fig. 6 The connection body 13 has at least one shower-side, front fluid connection 15, 16 on a swivel arm connection side 14. In the example shown, the connection body 13 has two front fluid connections 15, 16.
[0049] In advantageous embodiments, the at least one fluid-carrying swivel arm 20, 21 has a fluid channel 22, 23 from the rear fluid connection 10, 11 of the wall connection unit 4 to the front fluid connection 15, 16 of the shower connection unit 12, as shown in the Fig. 3 As shown, in the example shown, the front and rear fluid connections 10, 11, 15, 16 are designed as separate components. The fluid connections 10, 11, 15, 16 are each inserted during the assembly of the corresponding swivel arm 20, 21 on the wall connection unit 4 and are fluidically coupled. The fluid connections 10, 11, 15, 16 form deflection bends, with the first rear fluid connection 10 having a deflection of 180° and the second rear fluid connection 11 and the front fluid connections 15, 16 each having a deflection of 90°, as shown in the Fig. 6 and 7The fluid connections 10, 11, 15, 16 are not only fluid-tight but also rotatably connected to the swivel arms 20, 21. The round design of the connection openings 32, 33 is advantageous for this rotary connection.
[0050] In advantageous embodiments, the shower connection unit 12, as in the example shown, has a first and a second front fluid connection 15, 16 on the swivel arm connection side 14.
[0051] In advantageous embodiments, both pivot arms 20, 21 each have a fluid channel 22, 23, as shown in the Fig. 3 As shown, one of the two swivel arms 20 is fluidically connected at one end to the first rear fluid connection 10 of the wall connection unit 4 and at the other end to the first front fluid connection 15 of the shower connection unit 12, and a second of the two swivel arms 21 is fluidically connected at one end to the second rear fluid connection 11 of the wall connection unit 4 and at the other end to the second front fluid connection 16 of the shower connection unit 12. [0052] In an advantageous embodiment, the multi-joint mechanism 38 can be continuously pivoted between two pivoting end positions S1, S2, as in the example shown, into self-holding pivoting positions for the shower connection unit 4, as in the Fig. 3 und 4 As shown. Alternatively, the pivoting can be implemented in multiple stages. In this case, pivoting end position S1 describes the lower end position and pivoting end position S2 describes the upper end position.
[0053] In corresponding embodiments, at least one of the swivel arms 20, 21, in particular at one end 36B, 37B facing the shower connection unit 4, has at least one angle limiting stop 32, as for example in the Fig. 2 The at least one angle limiting stop 32 limits the pivoting movement of the pivoting arm 20, 21 in the associated pivoting end position S1, S2.
[0054] In the embodiment shown, both swivel arms 20, 21 have two angle limiting stops 32 on one end side 36B, 37B facing the shower connection unit 12, as shown in Fig. 4 shown.
[0055] In advantageous embodiments, at least one of the pivot arms 20, 21 extends transversely cantilevering at one end 36A, 37A facing the wall connection unit 4, in particular in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis LA of the pivot arm 20, 21, as shown in the Fig. 2 and 3 As shown. In the illustrated embodiment, both swivel arms 20, 21 extend transversely cantilevering at the end side 36A, 37A facing the wall connection unit 4.
[0056] In advantageous embodiments, the shower connection unit 12, as in the example shown, has a first fluid outlet 18 and a second fluid outlet 19 on a shower coupling side 17, and the shower body 2 has a first fluid chamber fluidically connected to the first fluid outlet 18 of the shower connection unit 12 and a separate second fluid chamber fluidically connected to the second fluid outlet 19 of the shower connection unit 12. In the present case, both swivel arms 20, 21 are each assigned to one fluid chamber.
[0057] As the illustrated and further embodiments described above clearly demonstrate, the invention provides a wall mounting device which, with a comparatively robust design, allows the height and angle of the shower connection unit or a shower head connected to it to be adjusted with a single movement. Furthermore, the wall mounting device according to the invention allows the user to adjust it, preferably continuously and individually, with the wall mounting device preferably being self-locking in the set position.
