Abstract
Description
[0001] DESCRIPTION
[0002] TITLE OF THE INVENTION: Position light for a motor vehicle, and associated motor vehicle.
[0003] The present invention claims priority from French application 2305257 filed on 05 / 26 / 2023, the content of which (text, drawings and claims) is incorporated herein by reference.
[0004] [0001 .] The invention relates to a position light for a motor vehicle.
[0005] [0002.] There is a need to improve the aesthetics of motor vehicles, and in particular the aesthetics of the position lights of motor vehicles.
[0006] [0003.] For this purpose, the invention relates to a position light for a motor vehicle, the motor vehicle comprising (according to one embodiment) an interior and an exterior, the position light comprising
[0007] - For example, a box, and
[0008] - A light source capable of emitting light, and
[0009] - Technical parts, and
[0010] - A blade comprising a body, the body being made of a transparent material, the body comprising an edge, facing the light source (so that the light enters the body via the edge), separating an outer face of the body facing outwards (otherwise; facing in a direction opposite the casing) of the vehicle (so that the light is emitted outwards) and an inner face of the body facing the interior of the motor vehicle (otherwise: facing the casing),
[0011] The position light being characterized in that the blade comprises a cover made of an opaque material covering at least part of the inner face and preventing a first part of the technical parts from being seen through the blade from outside the vehicle (the cover is for example opposite the first part).
[0012] [0004.] Thus, thanks to the invention, the aesthetics of the position light are improved, the cover concealing the first part of the technical parts which are particularly unsightly. [0005.] It is extended that a position light is for a motor vehicle by the fact that it comprises electrical connections and a shape adapted so that the position light can be mounted (and can operate) in the vehicle.
[0013] [0006.] Technical parts are, for example, electrical parts (for example, electric cables) or mechanical parts (for example, fasteners, such as assemblies composed of a screw and a nut, or plates).
[0014] [0007.] Preferably, the body is configured (in particular by its shape and its transparency) to diffuse the light towards the outside via its outer face.
[0015] [0008.] The body may include decorative patterns obtained by graining.
[0016] [0009.] The position light is, for example, a rear light of the vehicle.
[0017] [0010.] Alternatively, the position light may be at the front of the vehicle or positioned laterally, for example on a rearview mirror of the vehicle.
[0018] [0011 .] For example, the blade is manufactured by a two-material molding step of the transparent material and the opaque material, which has the advantage of being economical in comparison with other manufacturing methods.
[0019] [0012.] The molding is for example injection molding. It can be implemented according to methods known to those skilled in the art.
[0020] [0013.] Other manufacturing methods are possible. The cover can be molded separately, and for example, glued to the body also molded separately.
[0021] [0014.] The transparent material and / or the opaque material preferably comprises a polymer.
[0022] [0015.] For example, the transparent material and / or the opaque material is poly(methyl methacrylate) acrylic or polycarbonate.
[0023] [0016.] According to one embodiment, the position light comprises a mask, the mask having a cavity housing the blade, the blade filling for example the entire cavity, the cavity comprising:
[0024] An opaque background preventing a second part of the technical parts (distinct from the first part of the technical parts) from being seen through the blade from outside the vehicle (the opaque background is, for example, opposite the second part of the technical parts),
[0025] - A first protruding part, without bottom, forming an acute angle, opposite the cover, which is particularly aesthetic
[0026] [0017.] The fact that the first protruding part is bottomless makes it possible to manufacture the mask in a single mold.
[0027] [0018.] Alternatively, for example, the position light does not have a mask, and the first part of the technical parts and the second part of the technical parts are hidden by the cover.
[0028] [0019.] The cover can, for example, extend over the entire interior face.
[0029] [0020.] The mask may be made of polymer, for example acrylic methyl methacrylate or polycarbonate.
[0030] [0021 .] The opaque material is for example black, and / or for example, the same color as the mask.
[0031] [0022.] According to one embodiment, the light source comprises a waveguide capable of emitting light.
[0032] [0023.] The waveguide carries, for example, light from a light-emitting diode.
[0033] [0024.] The position light also comprises, for example, a transparent protective cover. The transparent protective cover constitutes, for example, an (external) wall closing the housing. The transparent protective cover may be opposite the external face (in other words: the external face of the body may be turned towards the transparent protective cover). The cover provides, in particular, sealing and mechanical protection for the position light.
[0034] [0025.] The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising the position light.
[0035] [0026.] The characteristics and advantages of the motor vehicle are identical to those of the position light according to the invention (without it being necessary to repeat them here). [0027.] It is understood that the light source, the waveguide, the body or another element is “configured to” (or “capable of”) carrying out or implementing a step, an operation, or to produce a result, by the fact that the element comprises means for (in other words “shaped to” or “adapted to”) carrying out the step or the operation, or to produce the result. These are preferably electronic, mechanical or optical means.
[0036] [0028.] When a step or operation is carried out (in other words: implemented) by such an element, this generally implies that the element includes means for carrying out the step or operation.
[0037] [0029.] Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will appear more clearly on reading the detailed description which follows, comprising embodiments of the invention given as non-limiting examples and illustrated by the appended drawings, in which:
[0038] - [Fig. 1] represents a position light and a vehicle, according to one embodiment of the invention.
[0039] - [Fig. 2], [Fig. 3] and [Fig. 4] represent the position light of figure 1.
[0040] - [Fig. 6] [Fig. 5] and [Fig. 7] represent subassemblies or parts of the position light of Figure 1.
[0041] [0030.] Detailed description of an exemplary embodiment of the invention.
[0042] [0031.] With reference to Figures 1 to 7, a vehicle 1000 includes an interior 1100 and an exterior 1200 as well as a rear position light 100.
[0043] [0032.] Figure 3 represents the section referenced CC1 cutting the cavity of the mask 140 of the position light 100, and more precisely, cutting its projecting part 142.
[0044] [0033.] Figure 4 represents the section referenced CC2 cutting the bottom 141 of the cavity.
[0045] [0034.] Figure 5 is a view of the subassembly 100' consisting of the position light without the transparent protective cover 120. Figure 6 is a view of the blade 130. Figure 7 is a view of the mask 140.
[0046] [0035.] The position light 100 comprises: A housing 110,
[0047] - A waveguide 150 capable of emitting light. The waveguide 150 carries, for example, light from a light-emitting diode,
[0048] - A first part 161 of technical parts, and a second part 162 of technical parts. The technical parts are, for example, electrical parts (for example, electric cables) or mechanical parts (for example, fasteners or plates).
[0049] - A blade comprising a body 131, the body 131 being made of a transparent material, the body comprising an edge 131 a, facing the light source 150 (so that the light penetrates into the body 131 via the edge 131 a) separating an outer face 131 e of the body facing the outside 1200 of the vehicle 1000 (in other words: the opposite of the housing) and an inner face 131 i of the body 131 facing the inside 1100 of the motor vehicle 1000 (in other words: facing the housing), the body 131 thus diffusing the light towards the outside 1200 via its outer face 131 e.
[0050] [0036.] According to the invention, the blade 130 comprises a cover 132 made of an opaque material covering a part of the inner face 131 i preventing the first part 161 of the technical parts from being seen through the blade 130 from the exterior 1200 of the vehicle 1000.
[0051] [0037.] The position light 100 also comprises a mask 140 having a cavity housing the blade 130, the blade 130 filling the entire cavity, the cavity comprising:
[0052] - An opaque background 141 preventing the second part 162 of the technical parts (distinct from the first part 161 of the technical parts) from being seen through the blade 130 from the exterior 1200 of the vehicle 100,
[0053] - A first projecting part 142, without bottom, forming an acute angle opposite the cover.
[0054] [0038.] For example, the blade 130 is manufactured by a two-material injection molding step of the transparent material and the opaque material. [0039.] The transparent material and the opaque material are polyacrylic methyl methacrylate (black, as regards the opaque material). The mask can also be made of black acrylic methyl methacrylate.
[0055] [0040.] The position light 100 for example also comprises a transparent protective cover 120 closing the housing 110 and facing the outer face
[0056] 131st.
