Abstract
Description
[0001] Procedure for assembling a functional fitting and kit
[0002] The present invention relates to a method for mounting a functional fitting on a piece of furniture with a movable furniture part and a kit for carrying out the method.
[0003] DE 10 2020 114 808 A1 discloses an opening and / or closing device for furniture that can accelerate, decelerate, and / or hold a movable furniture part attached to a furniture body. In many cases, the movable furniture part is already positioned and aligned on the furniture body. Therefore, if the opening and / or closing device is subsequently mounted, the position of an activator of the opening and / or closing device can be adjusted using an adjustment mechanism of an activator carrier. This allows tolerances to be compensated during assembly, but this requires a comparatively high level of effort after assembly due to the adjustment.
[0004] In addition, assembly tools are known, for example from DE 10 2017 110 329 A1, for precisely positioning guide rails on panel-shaped furniture components. While these assembly tools can facilitate the assembly of the furniture, they are not suitable for retrofitting an opening and / or closing device.
[0005] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a method for mounting a functional fitting on a piece of furniture with a movable furniture part that simplifies assembly. Furthermore, a kit for such a method is to be provided.
[0006] This object is achieved by a method having the features of claim 1 and a kit having the features of claim 9.
[0007] In the method according to the invention for assembling a functional fitting formed from at least two parts to a piece of furniture with a movable furniture part, at least one part of a functional fitting for accelerating, decelerating, stopping and / or holding the movable furniture part is releasably fixed to an assembly aid. The unit comprising the assembly aid and the at least one part of the functional fitting is then positioned on the piece of furniture with the movable furniture part or a second part of a functional fitting that is already fixed to the piece of furniture, with at least one contact surface of the assembly aid resting against the piece of furniture with the movable furniture part. The contact surface provides alignment in order to then fix the at least one part of the functional fitting to the piece of furniture with the movable furniture part using fastening means, for example screws, rivets, but also by gluing or other fastening methods used in furniture construction.Once at least one part of the functional fitting has been secured, the assembly aid can be removed and used again for another installation process. The functional fitting has already been aligned in the desired position by the assembly tool.
[0008] The method according to the invention has the advantage that, in a piece of furniture with a movable furniture part, a functional fitting can be installed with precise positioning even after installation, i.e., without having to change the position of the movable furniture part. The functional fitting is installed by aligning it with the furniture and the movable furniture part. For this purpose, the assembly aid is used, which releasably fixes at least part of the functional fitting. This eliminates the need to provide an adjustment mechanism on the functional fitting and to perform a complex adjustment process after installing the functional fitting, since the alignment and positioning are already performed during assembly.
[0009] A functional fitting is considered to be a device by means of which the movable furniture part is accelerated, decelerated, stopped and / or held, for example as a self-closing device, stop, holding device, ejection device, retraction device or locking device, wherein the functional fitting preferably comprises a plurality of parts which are movable relative to one another and one part is fixed to the movable furniture part and at least one further part is fixed to a furniture body.
[0010] For effective assembly, at least one part of the functional fitting can be releasably secured to the assembly aid by clamping or locking, so that at least one part of the functional fitting is easily secured to the assembly aid during assembly. For this purpose, the assembly aid can have a receptacle into which at least one part of the functional fitting is inserted before the assembly aid is positioned on the furniture with the movable furniture part. In addition, the assembly aid can comprise a housing with an integrally formed locking cam or locking web, to which at least one part of the functional fitting is held or secured. This enables effective positioning on the housing.
[0011] In a preferred embodiment, at least two parts for assembling the functional fitting are fixed to the assembly aid, for example, an activator that interacts with a device for accelerating, decelerating, stopping, and / or holding the movable furniture part, and another part of the functional fitting, for example, a locking device. As a result, the activator and the other part of the functional fitting are aligned relative to one another via the assembly aid, so that no further adjustment is necessary after assembly. The assembly aid can, for example, comprise a plastic body on which several holding means are formed for securing at least two parts of the functional fitting.
[0012] The movable furniture part can, for example, be designed as a drawer, with the functional fitting arranged between a furniture body and the drawer. Alternatively, the movable furniture part can also be designed as a sliding door, a pivoting door or flap, or as a rotatable furniture element.
[0013] In a preferred embodiment, the functional fitting can be secured through an opening on the rear of a furniture body. This opening can be closed by a rear panel after the functional fitting has been installed, or concealed by positioning the furniture against a wall. This allows for the installation of a self-closing mechanism or other functional fitting in the rear area of the furniture body.
[0014] In the case of a furniture body that is already closed at the back, in a preferred embodiment the functional fitting can also be fixed laterally between the furniture body and the movable furniture part when the furniture is partially opened.
[0015] Furthermore, a kit is provided with at least one part of a functional fitting for accelerating, decelerating, stopping, and / or holding a movable furniture part and an assembly aid for carrying out the method. The kit can optionally comprise multiple parts of a functional fitting and the assembly aid. In a preferred embodiment, the kit additionally comprises a fitting for guiding or holding a movable furniture part, for example, one or more drawer guides, translation-rotation fittings, hinges, or sliding door fittings, so that the kit comprises both the fitting for guiding the movable furniture part and the functional fitting.
[0016] The functional fitting is preferably designed as a locking device that holds the movable furniture part in a closed position with a driver, which is optionally preloaded by an energy accumulator. When the movable furniture part is opened, the driver is then moved into a parking position to allow the movable furniture part to move in idle mode.

[0037] Figures 17A and 17B show two views of the assembly aid with part of the functional fitting of Figure 15.
[0038] A piece of furniture 1 comprises a furniture body 2 on which two movable furniture parts 3 in the form of drawers are movably mounted.
[0039] Figure 2 shows the furniture 1 from the rear, with either no back panel being mounted on the furniture body 2 or no back panel having been mounted yet. In the area of the rear of the drawers, there is a strut 5 on the furniture body 2, to which a locking bar 6 is mounted, which can optionally also be fixed to one of the side walls of the furniture body 2. The locking bar 6 is intended to ensure that, for example, only one drawer at a time is moved from the furniture body 2 into a protruding position. The locking bar can also be used as a lock and to regulate access to all drawers. In order to be able to lock the drawers held on the pull-out guides 4 in a closed position, a functional fitting 10 is provided, which comprises a first part
[0040] 11 and a second part 12. The first part 11 contains a locking mechanism with a movable catch 20 and is fixed to the locking bar 6 via screws 13, while the second part 12 is designed as an activator and is secured to the drawer via additional screws 14. The functional fitting 10 can hold the drawers in the closed position.
[0041] The functional fitting 10 is shown in detail in Figures 3A to 3C. The first part 11 comprises a housing with a flange 19, which can be fixed to the strut 5 or a side wall of the furniture body 2 via screws 13. Formed in the housing of the first part 11 is a movable slide 20 with a pin 24, which extends through a slot 21 toward the locking bar.
[0042] Furthermore, a slot-shaped receptacle 23 for a pin 18 of the second part 12 is formed in the slide 20, which is open on one side. The pin 18 can thus interact via the slide 20 with the locking bar 6 for holding a drawer.
[0043] The pin 18 is held on a resilient tab 17 which is attached to the second part
[0044] 12 is integrally formed. The second part 12 can be secured to the rear of a drawer via a flange 15 with openings and screws 14. The second part 12 further comprises a groove-shaped receptacle 16.
[0045] Figure 4 shows the functional fitting 10 with the parts 11 and 12 together with an assembly aid. The assembly aid 30 comprises a shell-shaped housing 31 which forms at least one receptacle, wherein one side 22 of the first part 11 can be placed against the inside of the housing 31 in order to align and position the first part 11 on the assembly aid 30. A protruding holder 32 is formed on the housing 31 and can be inserted into the groove-shaped receptacle 16 of the second part 12 in order to releasably fix the second part 12 of the functional fitting 10 to the assembly aid 30. The first part 11 and / or the second part 12 can be fixed to the housing 31 or the holder 32 in a clamping or locking manner. Furthermore, a slot 34 for the passage of the pin 18 is formed on the housing 31, wherein the resilient tab 17, from which the pin 18 protrudes, can be placed on the wall with the slot 34.This allows the second part 12 to be aligned in a predetermined direction on the mounting aid 30. The mounting aid 30 further comprises a handle portion 33 that protrudes from the housing 31. A raised portion formed as a locking cam 37 is provided on the housing 31 for locking and securing the second part 12 to the mounting aid 30.
[0046] Figures 5A to 5C show the unit comprising the assembly aid 30, the first part 11, and the second part 12 of the functional fitting 10 in a pre-assembled position, in which both the first part 11 and the second part 12 are held on the assembly aid 30. The holder 32 engages in the groove-shaped receptacle 16 of the second part 12, and the housing 31 is clamped over the first part 11, securely positioning the pin 18 of the second part 12 in the driver 20 of the first part 11.
[0047] The two parts 11 and 12 are thus aligned with each other in the predetermined position by corresponding contact surfaces and stops within the assembly aid 30. The unit can be handled using the protruding handle section 33 of the assembly aid 30.
[0048] Figure 6 shows the piece of furniture 1 from Figure 2, with the functional fitting 10 having the first part 11 and the second part 12 already mounted on the upper drawer. The pin 18 engages with the driver 20 of the first part 11. The lower functional fitting 10 is currently being mounted, with the first part 11 and the second part 12 being held on the mounting aid 30, as shown in Figures 5A to 5C. The mounting aid 30 can now be placed onto the locking bar 6 in order to fix the first part 11 to the strut 5 using the screws 13, and the second part 12 to the drawer using the screws 14. After fixing using the screws 13 and 14 or other fastening means, the mounting aid 30 can then be removed and used for further assembly.
[0049] Figure 7 shows the piece of furniture from Figure 2, with the first part 11 of the functional fitting already mounted on the locking bar 6. For the functional fitting to function, the second part 12 must now be mounted on the back of the drawer. The mounting aid 30 can also be used for this purpose. Figures 8A to 8C show the mounting aid 30 in which only the second part 12 of the functional fitting is held, with the holder 32 engaging in the groove-shaped receptacle 16 of the second part 12 and the second part 12 engaging with the pin 18 in the slot 34 on the housing 31. The mounting aid 30 precisely aligns the second part 12 and can now be positioned on the back of the drawer as shown in Figure 9, with the mounting aid 30 being placed on the first part 11 of the functional fitting in order to align the second part 12 relative to the first part 11.In this respect, it is also possible to first assemble the first part 11 and only in the second step to align the second part 12 relative to the first part 11 using the assembly aid 30.
[0050] Figure 10 schematically shows part of a piece of furniture 1', depicting only two side walls of a furniture body 2'. Between them, a drawer is arranged as a movable furniture part 3', from which a removable, front cover panel has already been removed. The drawer is held movable via pull-out guides on the side walls of the furniture body 2'. A functional fitting 10' in the form of a self-closing mechanism is to be mounted on this piece of furniture 1'.
[0051] Figure 11 shows the functional fitting 10' with the first part 11' and the second part 12', which can be releasably fixed to an assembly aid 40. The first part 11' is designed as a self-closing mechanism, in which a driver 20' preloaded by an energy accumulator can be moved along a guide track 21', wherein the driver can be coupled to a projection 18' that is fixed to the second part 12' or is formed integrally. The self-closing mechanism can hold the drawer in a closed position. Optionally, an ejection device or a damper can be mounted instead of a self-closing mechanism.
[0052] The mounting aid 40 comprises a housing 43 with a receptacle 41 into which the housing of the first part 11' with the driver 20' can be inserted, in particular by clamping or locking. The mounting aid 40 further comprises a slot 42 on the housing 43 for inserting the projection 18' of the second part 12', so that the first part 11' and the second part 12' are precisely aligned with one another in the mounted position. The mounting aid 40 further comprises an actuating section 44 and a projection 45 on the housing 43 in order to be able to align the mounting aid 40 within the piece of furniture 1' via contact surfaces.
[0053] Figure 12 shows the assembly aid 40 in the pre-assembled position, in which the first part 11' is arranged in the receptacle 41 and the second part 12' is arranged via the projection 18' in the slot 42. The components thus aligned can now be positioned as a unit on the piece of furniture 1', as shown in Figure 13. In this position, the first part 11' can now be fixed to a base of the drawer and the second part 12' to a side wall of the furniture body 2', whereby it is also possible to fix the first part 11' to the side wall of the furniture body 2' and the second part 12' to the drawer.
[0054] Figure 14 shows the functional fitting 10' in the assembled position, with the assembly aid 40 removed. The projection 18' of the activator engages the driver 20' on the first part 11' to pull the drawer 3' into the retracted position.
[0055] Figure 15 shows a modified functional fitting 10 with a part 111 and part 12 together with a mounting aid 50. As in the first embodiment, the second part 12 can be secured to the rear of a movable furniture part via a flange 15 with openings for fastening means and comprises a groove-shaped receptacle 16 between two walls. The pin is held on a resilient tab 17 and arranged substantially parallel to the flange 15.
[0056] The first part 111 comprises a housing in which a movable carriage 20 with a receptacle 23 and a pin 24 can be moved between two end positions. A flange 19 formed on the housing allows the carriage to be secured to the strut 5 or a side wall of the furniture body 2 using fastening means.
[0057] The mounting aid 50 comprises a shell-shaped housing 51 having a protruding web-shaped holder 52 that can be inserted into the groove-shaped receptacle 16 of the second part 12 to releasably fix the second part 12 to the mounting aid 50. Furthermore, a slot 54 is formed on the housing 51 for the passage of the pin 18 of the second part 12 when the resilient tab 17 rests against the housing 51. The second part 12 is thus aligned with the mounting aid 50. The mounting aid 50 comprises a protruding handle portion 53.
[0058] A locking bar 57 is integrally formed on the housing 51. The locking bar 57 of the mounting aid 50 ensures a secure hold of the tab 17, even in the lateral direction.
[0059] Figures 16A and 16B show the assembly aid 50, on which the first part 111 and the second part 12 of the functional fitting are held. The holder 52 engages in the groove-shaped receptacle 16 of the second part 12, the pin 18 of which is inserted into the slot 54 on the housing 51. The first part 111 is aligned relative to the second part 12 by the housing 51, so that the first part 111 and second part 12 are held ready for assembly! A locking projection 55 is formed on the housing 51, to which the first part 111 can be clamped or locked.
[0060] In Figures 17A and 17B, the mounting aid 50 is shown only with the second part 12 of the functional fitting. The holder 52 engages in the groove-shaped receptacle 16 of the second part 12, and the pin 18 is inserted into the slot 54 on the housing 51. The housing 51 has an integrally formed, flexible locking web 56 that cooperates with locking means on the first part 111 to releasably secure it.
