Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a portable building element made of a wood-based material for a modular wall system and a modular wall system comprising one or more of these portable building elements. Description

[0002] Wood-based panels form the basis of many everyday objects, such as furniture or wall, floor, and ceiling coverings. They are commonly used as wall panels, insulation boards for interior and exterior applications, and structural elements. These panels are typically made from wood chips, wood fibers, or wood strands. Examples of wood-based panels include high-density fiberboard (HDF), medium-density fiberboard (MDF), particleboard, plywood, and wood-plastic composites (WPC).

[0003] Oriented strand board (OSB), also known as chipboard, is an engineered wood product made from long strands of wood. Originally a byproduct of the veneer and plywood industries, OSB is increasingly used in timber construction and prefabricated housing because it is lightweight yet meets the structural requirements for building panels. OSB is used as construction panels, wall and roof sheathing, and flooring.

[0004] OSB boards are enjoying increasing popularity and diverse applications, not least because of their sustainability, for example as a construction element in house building or as formwork in concrete construction.

[0005] The production of OSB boards takes place in a multi-stage process. First, chips of debarked wood, preferably softwood, are cut lengthwise using rotary blades. In the subsequent drying process, the natural moisture content of the chips is reduced at high temperatures. The moisture content of the chips can vary depending on the adhesive used. After drying, the chips are fed into a gluing unit where the adhesive is applied. PMDI (polymeric diphenylmethane diisocyanate) or MUPF resin (melamine-urea-phenol-formaldehyde) are predominantly used as adhesives. The glued chips are then arranged alternately lengthwise and widthwise in the production direction, so that the chips are arranged crosswise in at least three layers (bottom layer, middle layer, top layer). This is followed by continuous pressing of the chips at high pressure and high temperature.

[0006] OSB boards can be joined using a special tongue-and-groove system. In this system, the tongue of one board is inserted into the groove of the other. A fastener, such as a screw or staple, can then be inserted into the bottom of the groove. The head of the fastener, such as the screw head, is then covered by the tongue of the other board. Finally, the tongue-and-groove joint is bonded with a suitable adhesive, such as polyurethane. Tongue-and-groove joints are well-known and used in various systems, such as for joining bathroom panels (for example, those used by manufacturers like Fibi-Trespo, SE).

[0007] As mentioned, OSB panels can be used as building panels, particularly in prefabricated house construction (see, for example, WO 2016 / 206995 A1). For instance, when OSB panels are used for wall construction, the wall consists of a solid wood frame filled with suitable beams (especially I-beams) and covered on both sides with OSB panels.

[0008] The construction walls described in WO 2016 / 206995 A1 are used as complete wall units and have corresponding wall dimensions and a correspondingly high weight. Transport and assembly of such complete wall units therefore require heavy transport vehicles and construction cranes; i.e., the necessary logistics are complex.

[0009] Besides the complex transport logistics, such complete wall systems are also unsuitable for the construction of less complex wall systems, such as wall systems for garages, garden sheds, carports and similar structures, which are primarily erected by carpentry firms or private individuals.

[0010] It is also known to construct walls from smaller wall units or wall elements, which are joined together. For example, US 2012 / 0227346 A1 describes wall units consisting of a pair of outer panels and a middle panel positioned between them, with the middle panel offset below the two outer panels. This results in the formation of tongue and groove joints, which serve as connecting elements for the wall units.

[0011] However, this approach also has disadvantages. The installation position of such a wall unit is always predetermined by its geometry. Cutting the block creates one or more blunt edges, which restrict the connection between the blocks. Due to the closed core, there are no openings within the block for, for example, electrical cables. Furthermore, the material usage is relatively high, since all three panels are the same size, but the material is not needed for joining them. Using three panels also results in a relatively high weight.

[0012] The object of the present invention was therefore to provide wall elements made of wood-based materials as part of a construction system for erecting wall systems or building walls, which does not require complex logistics and allows for the flexible and cost-effective manual assembly of simple wall systems without the need for extensive equipment or special vehicles, thus making it particularly suitable for use by smaller construction companies or private individuals. Furthermore, the wall element should be universally applicable, easy to manufacture, and flexibly adaptable to any application.

[0013] This problem is solved by a portable building element having the features of claim 1 and a wall system constructible using the portable building element having the features of claim 8. component

[0014] Accordingly, a portable (flat) building element made of a wood-based material is provided for a modular wall system, the portable building element comprising the following: at least two cover plates as flat outer surfaces, each consisting of a wood-based panel; at least one intermediate layer consisting of at least four wood-based elements provided between the two flat outer surfaces, wherein the two cover plates have larger dimensions than the four wood-based elements provided as an intermediate layer; wherein each of the four wood-based elements provided as an intermediate layer is arranged at a defined distance x from the outer edges of the cover plates, so that a circumferential groove is formed along the outer edges of the cover plates and between the cover plates; wherein each of the four wood-based elements provided as an intermediate layer is arranged symmetrically, in particular mirror-symmetrically, at a defined distance y from each of the other four wood-based elements provided as an intermediate layer.

[0015] This provides a portable building element made of a wood-based material, which can be manually assembled with other similar building elements to form a stable surface, e.g., a stable wall, as part of a vertical structure. A particular advantage is that the dimensions of the building element are such that a person can lift and install it independently without the use of any aid, such as a crane.

[0016] The portable building element consists of two equally sized, preferably rectangular, panel parts, such as an OSB panel of grade OSB-4 or other wood materials, such as high-density fiberboard or plywood panels, which form the flat outer surfaces of the building element as cover panels.

[0017] These two cover plates are connected via a core layer. The core layer is formed from at least four engineered wood elements, which are smaller (e.g., by 3-4 times) than the two cover plates. The engineered wood cover plates and the engineered wood elements are glued together.

[0018] The wood-based elements can also be described as spacers between the decking boards. The spacing between the decking boards is thus determined by the thickness of the wood-based elements and can be adjusted as needed. The wood-based elements can be used in single or multiple layers (e.g., two layers), allowing the spacing between the decking boards to be increased accordingly.

[0019] These four inner plates are arranged at a fixed distance x from the outer edge of the cover plates; that is, the wood-based elements are inserted between the cover plates by this distance x. This creates a groove running along and between the outer edges of the cover plates, with the distance x determining the depth of the groove.

[0020] The four wood-based material elements are arranged symmetrically relative to each other (or to each other) at a fixed distance y. In one embodiment, the arrangement of the wood-based material elements with respect to the cover plates can be described as follows: the cover plates are divided into four equal rectangular areas by two mutually perpendicular axes of symmetry. Within each of these rectangular areas, a surface element is positioned at a distance x from the respective (two) outer edges. This results in a mirror-symmetrical arrangement of the four surface elements along the two mutually perpendicular axes of symmetry. The distance y of one element to any two of the other elements is determined by the distance x and is, for example, twice the value of the distance x (y = 2x). The arrangement of the four elements relative to each other can be described as an open cross.

[0021] As described in more detail below, the portable building elements are assembled into a wall system or wall assembly by simply connecting them using loose spring elements to create a positive fit. By connecting a large number of these portable building elements, a self-supporting, vertically extending wall structure is created.

[0022] In one embodiment, the component has an average weight of between 5 and 15 kg, preferably between 5 and 10 kg, and particularly preferably between 6 and 8 kg, e.g., 7 kg. The component thus has a weight that allows it to be lifted, carried, and inserted manually by one person; the use of cranes or other heavy transport systems is not required or necessary.

[0023] Due to its structural geometry and the use of a loose spring as a connecting element, this component exhibits a high degree of variability. Furthermore, its low average weight allows for easy handling, even for hobbyists.

[0024] The wood-based panels assembled to form the portable building element are preferably rectangular, but can also be square. Wood-based panels with the same or identical dimensions are preferably used as cover plates.

[0025] In a preferred embodiment, each of the cover plates has the following dimensions: Length between 300 - 800 mm, preferably between 400 - 600 mm, particularly preferably between 400 - 500 mm, width between 300 - 800 mm, preferably between 400 - 600 mm, particularly preferably between 400 - 500 mm, and thickness between 20-30 mm, preferably between 22 - 28 mm, particularly preferably between 24- 26 mm.

[0026] The dimensions can be freely selected depending on the intended application. Square cover plates with a length and width of 450 mm are preferred.

[0027] Preferably, the four wood-based material elements intended as an intermediate layer also each have identical dimensions.

[0028] In a preferred embodiment, each of the four wood-based material elements provided as an intermediate layer has the following dimensions: Length between 80 - 250 mm, preferably between 100 - 200 mm, particularly preferably between 100 - 150 mm, width between 80 - 250 mm, preferably between 100 - 200 mm, particularly preferably between 100 - 150 mm, and thickness between 20-30 mm, preferably between 22 - 28 mm, particularly preferably between 24- 26 mm.

[0029] The dimensions are freely selectable here as well, depending on the intended application. Square wood-based material elements with a length and width of 125 mm each are preferred.

[0030] As explained above, the wood-based elements are arranged at a distance x from the outer edges of the cover plates and a distance y from each other wood-based element. Depending on the dimensions of the cover plates and wood-based elements, these distances x and y can be the same or different.

[0031] In a preferred embodiment, the distance x of the wood material elements to the outer edge of the cover plates is 50 mm and the distance y of the wood material elements to each other is 100 mm.

[0032] By arranging the wood-based material elements at a distance y from each other, gaps of width y are formed between the wood-based material elements. These gaps can be used as cable runs.

[0033] Since the size (or volume) of the spaces between the panels also depends on the distance between them, it is even conceivable to use these spaces for other supply lines or pipes (e.g., water pipes). This is particularly relevant when the distance between the panels is increased by using multi-layered wood-based panels.

[0034] The wood-based panels used as cover plates and the wood-based elements used as intermediate layers can be based on various wood-based materials. Possible wood-based materials that could be used in this case include OSB, wood chips, plywood, glulam, or WPC. Generally, any wood material or wood composite with sufficient stability and stiffness for walls is suitable.

[0035] In a preferred embodiment, OSB boards are used to manufacture the wood-based panels used as cover plates and the wood-based elements used as intermediate layers. The OSB boards are cut to the required dimensions.

[0036] In one embodiment, the bulk density of each individual OSB board is between 500 and 1000 kg / cubic meter, preferably between 500 and 800 kilograms / cubic meter, and particularly preferably between 600 and 700 kilograms / cubic meter.

[0037] The OSB boards used here are based on wood chips with a length between 50 and 200 mm, preferably 70 and 180 mm, particularly preferably 90 to 150 mm and a width between 5 and 50 mm, preferably 10 to 30 mm, particularly preferably 15 to 20 mm and a thickness between 0.1 and 2 mm, preferably between 0.3 and 1.5 mm, particularly preferably between 0.4 and 1 mm.

[0038] The OSB boards used to manufacture the portable building element comply with service class 4 according to EN 300. OSB boards are classified into different classes according to EN 300 depending on their application, with the higher the number indicating the higher quality of the OSB board. The distinction is between OSB / 1, OSB / 2, OSB / 3, and OSB / 4. OSB boards of service classes 1 and 2 are suitable for interior construction in dry areas, whereas OSB boards of service classes 3 and 4 are used in humid areas for load-bearing purposes. OSB boards of service class 4 are particularly robust and exhibit high flexural strength. They are used in humid areas for load-bearing applications. Wandsvstem

[0039] As mentioned above, the portable components of the present invention are used to construct a modular wall system. Such a modular wall system comprises at least two or more of the portable components according to the invention. The component can thus be connected to other components as well as mounting rails (wall, floor, ceiling).

[0040] Such modular wall systems can be used as non-load-bearing partition walls or room dividers, or as wall systems for garages, garden sheds, carports and similar structures.

[0041] In one embodiment, at least two components are connected by at least one spring or spring element as a connecting element, wherein the at least one spring is inserted into the groove of a first component and into the groove of a second component. The spring is thus simultaneously present in the groove of the first component and in the groove of the second component. The spring can also be described as a plug-in element that is inserted into the respective grooves. Due to its design as a loose spring, it can be inserted at any desired point in the groove running along the outer edge of a component.

[0042] The connecting element (spring) is preferably integrated into all sides of the building block for linking, thus ensuring a stable connection between the building elements. The building elements can be assembled side-by-side and on top of each other according to a modular principle to form a wall system.

[0043] According to one embodiment of the present modular wall system, a tongue is provided along one side or outer edge of each component for connecting two components. The tongue can be positioned horizontally along its length *a* in the groove between the two cover plates (i.e., the tongue assumes a horizontal orientation). Alternatively, the tongue can be inserted with its side edge (along its height *c*) into the gap (at a distance *y*) between two wood-based material elements (i.e., the tongue assumes a vertical orientation, since the depth of the gap is greater than the depth of the groove).

[0044] In another embodiment of the present modular wall system, a spring is provided at each corner of a building element for connecting four building elements. This arrangement can also be referred to as a 4-point connection.

[0045] The spring element is a (loose) spring in the form of a block of wood-based material, preferably a rectangular block with dimensions length a x width b x height c, which can be used flexibly. The dimensions of the spring are determined by the openings and grooves on the block.

[0046] The length *a* of the tongue is at least half, preferably one-third, of the length / width of a cover plate. The tongue's length is arbitrarily adjustable and therefore adaptable. The thickness or width *b* of the tongue is determined by the width of the groove and thus by the distance between the cover plates. The height *c* of the tongue, in turn, results from the depth of the groove and thus from the distance *x* of the wood-based elements from the outer edges of the cover plates.

[0047] Preferably, the tongue is made of the same material as the cover plates and the wood-based material elements used as intermediate layers, preferably OSB. The loose tongue is preferably formed in a suitable shape from a corresponding wood-based panel, preferably an OSB panel.

[0048] In one embodiment, it is therefore provided that, in addition to the portable building elements, at least one mounting rail (or mounting threshold) is part of the modular wall system, wherein the at least one mounting rail is provided for fastening the modular building system to the floor and / or to a wall, in particular to the floor of an existing building structure and / or to a wall of an existing building structure. The mounting rail is preferably force-fitted to the building structure.

[0049] In one embodiment of the modular wall system, the at least one mounting rail for attaching the modular wall system to the floor and / or a wall includes a groove into which the at least one spring element can engage. In this case, the dimensions of the groove in the mounting rail are adapted to the dimensions of the (loose) spring element. Such a mounting rail with a groove is provided, in particular, on the floor and / or on an end face of a building element for a positive-locking connection with a portable building element on the underside and / or end face of the modular wall system. The mounting rail preferably has a U-shape and essentially comprises two wood-based strips (of any width, but preferably wider than the thickness of the building element's cover panels) that are connected to each other along one side via a third wood-based strip and enclose a groove. The width of the groove corresponds to the thickness of the spring element or the distance between the cover plates of the component.

[0050] In a preferred embodiment, the mounting rail consists of three strips of a wood-based panel. Two strips of identical shape and size form the outer surfaces. The third strip forms the middle layer and is shorter than the two outer layers. The strips are bonded together (glued) across their entire surface. This bond creates a U-shaped profile. The two outer strips are flush with the underside of the middle layer (overlapping the cut edges of the middle layer).

[0051] In a further embodiment, the modular wall system comprises at least one mounting rail for attaching the modular wall system to a ceiling, in particular to a ceiling of an existing building structure, and / or as the upper boundary of the wall system. The at least one mounting rail for attaching the modular wall system to a ceiling and / or as the upper boundary comprises three wood-based strips of equal length, two of which are connected to each other in an L-shape, and the third (initially) loose wood-based strip is inserted as the wall system's closing strip after the last spring elements have been inserted into the grooves of the closing components (i.e., the top row of components).

[0052] This construction can also be described as an open groove: The open groove element consists of three parts, but only two parts (the outer layer and the middle layer) are permanently bonded (glued) together. The second outer layer remains loosely separated. The profile shape is L-shaped. This design allows the end blocks to be tilted into place and the upper spring elements to be inserted, while maintaining fixed boundaries on all four sides. Later, this opening is closed or covered by a strip of the wood-based panel (the second outer layer).

[0053] This modular wall system offers a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. The plug-in system ensures ease of use and handling. The modular wall system is reusable and therefore very resource-efficient.

[0054] The cut edges of the component offer connection options at almost any position. Furthermore, the component's design provides openings for cable routes or other supply lines.

[0055] Preferably, the present modular wall system does not require any additional fastening means, since the specific design of the components used in the wall system, in combination with the spring elements, ensures a high stability of the wall system.

[0056] However, additional fasteners may be required to connect the portable components to each other and / or to the mounting rails. Suitable fasteners in such a case would include nails, screws (e.g., wood screws), or a suitable adhesive system.

[0057] The adhesive system can be located in a groove of a portable component and / or in a groove of a mounting rail. The adhesive system can be provided as free adhesive within the respective groove or contained within an adhesive tube or cord. The adhesive tube, or the adhesive contained within it, serves to bond the component to the slat or tongue.

[0058] The adhesive tube can be perforated, creating a predetermined breaking point in these defined weakened areas for easier opening. When the component and the slat / spring are brought together and pressed together, the applied forces or pressure cause the adhesive tube inserted in the groove to open or break. The adhesive is released and spreads within the groove.

[0059] It is particularly preferred if the at least one glue tube is designed as a continuous tube, for example in the form of an extruded tube, which contains the glue or adhesive.

[0060] In another embodiment, the at least one adhesive tube is divided along its length into individual segments or chambers. The segments or chambers are preferably of the same size, meaning they have the same volume to hold the same amount of adhesive. The segments or chambers can be formed by welds or so-called sealing points, e.g., with a width between 1 and 3 mm, preferably 2 mm. It is also possible to divide the tube into segments using perforation lines, which can be located on the top and / or bottom of the adhesive tube.

[0061] In one embodiment, the glue tube has a diameter between 3 and 10 mm, preferably 5 and 9 mm. The length of a single segment of the glue tube can be between 100 and 200 mm, preferably between 130 and 180 mm, and particularly preferably between 150 and 170 mm.

[0062] Using a glue tube with segments separated by sealed sections offers several advantages. For example, if the glue tube is damaged during transport, storage, or processing, only the adhesive leaks from the damaged segment, thus preventing the entire tube from emptying. Furthermore, segmenting the glue tube allows for the processing of different sizes of wood-based panels, as these only need to be multiples of the individual segment lengths of the glue tube segments (the glue tube can be easily separated at the sealed section).

[0063] In another embodiment, the adhesive tube is made of a plastic material. The plastic material should be selected to possess a certain strength to prevent the tube from tearing during the manufacture and transport of the sheets, while still allowing it to be opened during sheet processing. Particularly preferred plastic materials used here are polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyamide (PA), and / or polyethylene (PE), or a mixture thereof. However, any other film or composite film can also be used to manufacture the adhesive tube. If a polyamide film is used as the tube material, it has a thickness between 50 and 100 µm, preferably between 70 and 80 µm.

[0064] The adhesive used in this application is selected from the group consisting of polyurethanes, polyvinyls, and acrylates. The use of water-based adhesive formulations such as polyvinyl acetate (PVAC) or ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) is particularly advantageous. Of course, other adhesives using water as a solvent can also be used. In one embodiment, a PVAC adhesive with a solids content between 50 and 80 wt.%, preferably between 60 and 79 wt.%, and most preferably 65 wt.%, can be used.

[0065] In a further embodiment of the present wall system, it is provided that at least one side of the wall system (after completion of the assembly) is provided with at least one layer of paper, preferably with two layers of paper.

[0066] Suitable papers for coating walls made of wood-based materials, such as OSB walls, are resin-impregnated papers or raw papers. It is particularly preferred to use two layers of paper, each consisting of a resin-impregnated paper and a raw paper.

[0067] The resin used for impregnation is preferably a formaldehyde resin, in particular selected from the group comprising melamine-formaldehyde resin, urea-formaldehyde resin, and melamine-urea-formaldehyde resin. The resin-impregnated paper has a weight in the range of 30 to 200 g / m², preferably between 50 and 150 g / m², and particularly preferably between 80 and 120 g / m².

[0068] The weight of the raw paper is typically in the range between 100 and 300 g / m², preferably between 100 and 250 g / m², and particularly preferably between 100 and 120 g / m². When a raw paper is arranged as an outer layer, a suitable substrate is obtained that allows the direct application of plaster, filler, and wallpaper paste.

[0069] Such a paper-coated OSB wall system can be used as an alternative to gypsum plasterboard. The physical and mechanical properties of this paper-coated wall system allow for the installation of heavy interior fittings without special anchors. The outer layer of the wall system can be painted or wallpapered without any additional priming.

[0070] Another advantage is the application of plaster to coat the paper-coated wall system with acrylic paints or to glue wallpaper onto the board.

[0071] The present invention will be explained in detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments and the figures. The figures show: Figure 1A: A view of a wood-based panel for use as a cover plate in a portable building element according to the present invention; Figure 1B: View of four wood-based elements for use as an intermediate layer of a portable building element according to the present invention; Figure 2A: A view of two wood-based panels forming the cover plates and of four wood-based elements forming the intermediate layer before assembly into a portable building element according to the present invention; Figure 2B: Side view of a portable building element according to the present invention; Figure 2C: A top view of a portable building element according to the present invention; Figure 3A: A view of a spring element for use as a connecting element for the portable building elements according to the present invention; Figure 3B: Horizontal arrangement of a spring element in a groove of a portable building element according to the present invention;Figure 3C shows a horizontal arrangement of a spring element in a groove of a portable building element according to the present invention; Figure 3A shows a schematic representation of portable building elements assembled using spring elements in a 4-point arrangement; Figure 4A shows a mounting rail for fastening a modular wall system made of portable building elements according to the present invention to the floor and to the wall; Figure 5A shows a mounting rail of a modular wall system made of portable building elements according to the present invention as a top-side finishing element; and Figure 6 shows a view of a modular wall system made of portable building elements according to the present invention.

[0072] Figures 1A and 1BThe figures show the wood-based panels 12a, 12b used to form the flat outer surfaces or cover plates of the portable building element and the four wood-based elements 22a-d used to form an intermediate layer between the flat outer surfaces or cover plates.

[0073] The wood-based panels 12a-b used as cover plates consist of equally sized, square panels, such as OSB-4 grade panels. The square wood-based panels each have a length and width of 450 mm.

[0074] Likewise, the wood-based material elements 22a-d used as an intermediate layer 21 consist of equally sized square components with a length and width of 125 mm each.

[0075] The wood-based material elements 22a-d are arranged at a distance x from the outer edges of the cover plates 11a, 11b. A groove 23 is formed along and between the outer edges of the cover plates 11a, 11b, where the distance x determines the depth of the groove.

[0076] The four wood-based material elements 22a-d are arranged symmetrically relative to each other (or to each other) at a fixed distance y. The cover plates 12a, b are divided into four equal rectangular areas by two mutually perpendicular axes of symmetry 13a, b. Within each of these rectangular areas, a surface element 22a-d is positioned at a distance x from the respective (two) outer edges of the cover plates 12a, b. This results in a mirror-symmetrical arrangement of the four surface elements 22a-d along the two mutually perpendicular axes of symmetry 13a, b. The arrangement of the four components can be described as an open cross.

[0077] In a Figure 1BIn the preferred embodiment shown, the distance x of the wood material elements 22a-d to the outer edge of the cover plates 11a, 11b is 50 mm in each case, and the distance y of the wood material elements 22a-d to each other is 100 mm in each case.

[0078] By arranging the wood-based material elements 22a-d relative to each other at a distance y, gaps with a width y are formed. These gaps can be used as cable strands 24 ( Figure 2 B, C ).

[0079] The portable building elements are used to construct a modular wall system ( Figure 6 ) used. Such a modular wall system comprises at least two or more of the portable building elements 10 according to the invention.

[0080] A loose block of wood material is used as a spring 30 with a length a, a width b and a height c as the connecting element(s) between the portable building elements (see Figure 3AThe dimensions of the spring are determined by the openings and grooves on the portable component. The loose spring 30 is preferably made from a suitable OSB board in a matching shape.

[0081] The spring 30 is inserted into the groove 23 of a first component 10 and into the groove 23 of a second component 10, so that the spring 30 is simultaneously provided in the groove of the first component and in the groove of the second component.

[0082] According to the in Figure 3B In the illustrated embodiment, the spring 30 is provided along one side or outer edge of a component for connecting two components. Here, the spring 30 is arranged horizontally along its length a in the groove 23 between the two cover plates 12a,b, or inserted into the groove.

[0083] The spring 30 can also be inserted vertically with its side edge along the height c of the spring into the space 24 (with the distance y) between two wood material elements (see Figure 3C ).

[0084] In the 3D figure In the intended embodiment of the present modular wall system, a spring 30 is provided at each corner of a component 10a-d for connecting four components 10ad. This arrangement can also be described as a 4-point connection.

[0085] In Figure 4A,B A mounting rail 40 is shown as part of the modular wall system, which enables the modular building system to be attached to the floor and / or a wall. The mounting rail 40 includes a groove 41 into which the spring 30 can engage.

[0086] The mounting rail 40 has a U-shape and essentially comprises two wood-based strips 42, 43 (e.g., with a width of 25 mm) which are connected to each other along one side by a third wood-based strip 44 and enclose the groove 41. The width of the groove 41 corresponds to the thickness of the tongue element or the distance between the cover plates of the building element (e.g., 25 mm). The mounting rail 40 is intended for use on the floor and / or on the end face(s) of the wall to be erected, where the load-bearing building elements are attached or connected in a flush manner using the tongue elements 30.

[0087] In Figure 5 A,BA mounting rail 50 is shown as part of a modular wall system, serving to attach the modular wall system to a ceiling and / or as the upper boundary / termination of the wall system. This mounting rail 50 comprises three wood-based strips 52, 53, 54 of equal length, wherein the two wood-based strips 52, 53 are connected to each other in an L-shape, and the third (initially) loose wood-based strip 54 is inserted into the gap or space 55 resulting after the insertion of the top row of building elements, thus forming the termination strip of the wall system.

[0088] Figure 6 Figure 10 shows a section of a wall system made up of several assembled building elements. By joining together a large number of such portable building elements, a vertically extending, self-supporting composite structure in the form of a wall is created.

[0089] The portable building elements are assembled into a wall system or wall assembly by positively interlocking the building elements 10 with the springs 30. In the Figure 6 In the embodiment shown, the connection of the components 10 with a mounting rail 40 and the springs 30 in the 4-point connection is recognizable.
