Abstract
Description
[0001] Attachment device with a lying area for attachment to the rear
[0002] A VEHICLE AND A CAMPERVAN EQUIPPED THEREWITH
[0003] The invention relates to an attachment device with a lying surface (2) for attachment to the rear of a vehicle, in particular a mobile home or camper van.
[0004] background
[0005] The invention particularly relates to a unit consisting of the support rod and the cloth with fastening points.
[0006] What is essential is a cantilevered sleeping area that overhangs the vehicle dimensions and can accommodate at least 2 people. This sleeping area is only attached to the vehicle itself and can be stowed away invisibly in the vehicle interior for transport without the need for tools.
[0007] As an option, two units can be used simultaneously as a lying area and as a sun sail, see Figure 4.
[0008] State of the art
[0009] A disadvantage of the current technology is that a hammock for two or more people typically requires two very strong suspension points, which cannot be attached to the vehicle without considerable effort in terms of material and weight.
[0010] The permissible total weight depends not only on the fabric and the attachment points, but also on a frame or beam.
[0011] The publications DE 10 2021 132 776 A1, DE 10 2018 132 889 A1, and WO 2006 / 094 497 A1 describe caravan Z-vehicle bodies with a variable rear design, in which an additional sleeping area can be provided. However, they do not disclose a free-floating, overhanging attachment with a sleeping area and only one support side and a support rod. Object and solution of the invention
[0012] Object of the invention: The above-mentioned disadvantages of the prior art are to be avoided.
[0013] This object is achieved according to the invention in an attachment device with a lying surface for attachment to the rear of a vehicle, in particular a mobile home of the type mentioned at the outset, in that the attachment device comprises a lying surface (2) as a freely suspended, overhanging part with only one support side and a support rod (3), wherein the lying surface (2) is designed as a flat structure such as cloth, textile or the like attached to the support rod (3).
[0014] The support rod can be designed as a telescopic rod with a locking function (safety pin). This can be glued or screwed to the vehicle floor.
[0015] The sleeping surface (sail) has eyelets embedded in the fabric at all four corners. These can be connected with snap hooks to fittings located on the D-pillar, the vehicle body, or the end of the support rods.
[0016] The canvas features fastening elements and, if necessary, additional supporting elements (such as straps or ropes). For this purpose, eyelets or tabs are incorporated at the corners, similar to a boat sail.
[0017] Can the sleeping surface be stowed away invisibly in the vehicle interior for transport without tools? The fabric can, for example, be stored on a roll in the outer pole (like a furling jib). The telescopic poles are attached in or under the underbody of the vehicle. This allows the poles to be pulled out of the vehicle floor like a drawer and locked into place with the safety pins at the end. The fabric is then unwound from the roll and attached to the vehicle body with the eyelets and snap hooks.
[0018] Advantages of the invention
[0019] Among other things, the following advantages are achieved: 1) The invention provides a large, freely suspended, overhanging sleeping area for at least two people at the rear of a vehicle. Only one support side is required, unlike a conventional hammock, which requires two.
[0020] The permissible total weight depends only on the fabric and the attachment points, but not on a frame or beam.
[0021] The attachment device according to the invention is completely suspended on one side and free-floating on the other. This eliminates the need for a second support point. This is made possible by the special arrangement of the support rods, the lying surface, and their angles to each other.
[0022] This is achieved by (particularly important): The lying surface (sheet) absorbs not only the forces resulting from the weight of the person lying down, but also the forces resulting from the one-sided suspension. This allows the support rod to function as a coupling rod instead of a cantilever beam.
[0023] This results in a significant reduction in weight and dimensions compared to conventional hammocks.
[0024] This creates a large sleeping area that extends significantly beyond the vehicle's dimensions. It's even possible to park the vehicle with its rear end at a lake, for example, and install the attachment system according to the invention over the water.
[0025] 2) The components of the inventive attachment system are easily stowable for transport. The entire structure can be adjusted to the lying or transport position without tools. A plug-in system or a system with heavy-duty extensions or similar would be feasible.
[0026] The cloth is easy to fold or roll up.
[0027] 3) The reclining surface with the support rods can be used both as a recliner and as a sunshade. Both the sunshade and reclining surface can be used simultaneously, but this requires two attachments according to the invention (two reclining surfaces and two support rods).
[0028] Advantageous embodiments of the invention are set out in the subclaims.
[0029] It is proposed that
[0030] - that the attachment is designed for at least two people,
[0031] - that the support rod 3 can be fastened with one end projecting from the rear of a vehicle and that the lying surface 2 can be fastened with one end to the rear of the vehicle and with the other end to the other end of the support rod 3,
[0032] - that the support rod 3 consists of two rods, one end of which is attached to the rear of the vehicle, the other ends of the two rods being connected to a crossbar,
[0033] - that the lying surface 2 is rectangular and elongated and that two straps are arranged at each of its ends, with which the lying surface 2 can be fastened to or in the vehicle and to the crossbar of the support rod 3 and
[0034] - that the tabs are designed as loops.
[0035] Examples of implementation
[0036] Several exemplary embodiments of the invention are described in more detail below with reference to the drawings. In all drawings, the same reference numerals have the same meaning and are therefore explained only once if necessary.
[0037] It shows
[0038] Figure 1 shows an overview and the positioning of the attachment device according to the invention in a perspective schematic representation,
[0039] Figure 2 shows the attachment device according to the invention according to Figure 1 in a lying position in a side view,
[0040] Figure 3 shows the attachment device according to the invention corresponding to Figure 2 in the sunshade position and Figure 4 shows two attachment devices according to the invention in a combined position (lying position and sunshade position), also in a side view.
[0041] Structure of the attachment device according to the invention
[0042] Figures 1 and 2 show the attachment device according to the invention in its construction and in its cantilevered and overhanging lying position at the rear of the vehicle 1. The support rod 3, which consists primarily of metal tubes, is placed in the lying position at the rear of the vehicle. It consists of two rods, one end of which is attached to the rear of the vehicle.
[0043] As described above, telescopic poles with a locking function in the end position can be used here. The crossbar can already be firmly screwed to the end points.
[0044] However, simple 1-meter-long poles—like those used for a tent—could also be used, which are inserted into one another and secured with locking pins. The crossbar can be connected via corner joints with locking pins.
[0045] Another method would be two heavy-duty pull-outs that are pulled out like shelf rails and also have a locking position in the end position.
[0046] The crossbar can already be firmly screwed to the end points.
[0047] The other ends of the two poles are connected by a crossbar. The lying surface 2 consists of a rectangular, elongated sheet with two tabs at each end, as shown in Figure 1. Separate tabs can be sewn onto the sheet or eyelets can be inserted into the sheet.
[0048] The bed base 2 can now be attached to the vehicle using the aforementioned tabs at two points, and to the crossbar of the support rod using the other tabs at two points. The crossbar does not need to be unscrewed for this, as it is preferably already connected to the longitudinal rods.
[0049] The attachment device according to the invention is now ready for use. Figure 2 shows the attachment device according to the invention in its construction from the side. The bed surface 2 and the support rods 3 are arranged in such a way that a cantilevered and overhanging attachment to the vehicle is possible.
[0050] Figure 3 shows the attachment device according to the invention in use as a sunshade. For this purpose, the support rods 3 and the lying surface 2 are moved into a correspondingly prepared position at the rear of the vehicle 1.
[0051] Figure 4 shows the combined use of two attachment device products according to the invention, corresponding to Figures 2 and 3.
[0052] Working with the attachment device according to the invention
[0053] The operation of the attachment device according to the invention is explained in detail below:
[0054] Step 1 :
[0055] First, the support rods at the rear are moved from the transport position to the lying position, for both the bed and the awning. The support rods can be positioned at any angle and in any configuration relative to the vehicle. The support rods for the bed and the awning are functional and can be used independently of each other.
[0056] Step 2:
[0057] Once the support rods are ready to accommodate the bed, they can be attached to the support points in or on the vehicle and to the support rods. This creates a sloped bed, i.e., one with an angle greater than zero to the horizontal.
[0058] Step 3 :
[0059] Then the lying area and, if necessary, the sun sail can be used.
[0060] Step 4:
[0061] To return the support rods to their transport position, the bed must first be relieved of any load and removed from the support rods and the rear of the vehicle as described in step 2. The bed can be stowed in or on the vehicle for transport. Step 5:
[0062] The support rod is moved from the lying position to the transport position analogously to step 1.
[0063] The support rods can also be stored in the underbody or within the ceiling area of the vehicle.
[0064] In further advantageous applications, the lying surface can be used alternatively or additionally as a rain cover and as an advertising space.
