A pick-up style utility vehicle is provided. Typically, the vehicle includes a movable seat and an adjustable cargo bed, each configured to be alternatively positioned in an overlapping area of movement. The vehicle further includes a latch system including a latch body and a first retainer provided on the seat and a second latch retainer provided on a portion of the cargo bed. The latch body is typically configured to alternatively be secured to the seat or to the cargo bed by interlocking with either the first or the second latch retainer.

A pivotable grab handle device is movable between a stowed position, which is positioned within a mating cavity formed in the main tailgate structure, and a deployed position that projects upwardly above the top surface of a lowered main tailgate structure. The grab handle device is mounted on a retainer bracket that is affixed to a pivot bracket mounted to the top surface of the lowered main tailgate structure. When pivotally raised into the deployed position, the grab handle allows a person using a supplemental tailgate assembly configured into a step function extending below the plane of the lowered main tailgate structure to be stabilized while climbing onto the cross member of the supplemental tailgate assembly and onto the top surface of the lowered main tailgate structure.

A system for docking a vehicle to a trailer includes a scanning module affixed to the rear of a vehicle that scans the area behind the vehicle to locate and measure the distance to a trailer, utilizing a reflector affixed to the trailer. A display module in the cab of the vehicle receives distance and direction data from the scanning module and uses a graphical display to graphically depict the distance and relative orientation between the vehicle and trailer. In one embodiment the graphical depiction is an overhead view with an icon indicating the position of the trailer hitch. The present invention enables an unassisted vehicle operator to align and position a vehicle for docking with a trailer.

An integrated circuit device containing complementary metal oxide semiconductor transistors includes a semiconductor substrate and an NMOS transistor having a first fin-shaped active region that extends in the semiconductor substrate. The first fin-shaped active region has a first channel region therein with a first height. A PMOS transistor is also provided. The PMOS transistor has a second fin-shaped active region that extends in the semiconductor substrate. This second fin-shaped active region has a second channel region therein with a second height unequal to the first height.

A vehicle tailgate extension apparatus comprises a tailgate extender, having a stowed position in which the tailgate extender is located within a space within the tailgate, and a deployed position in which an exposed portion of the tailgate extender protrudes out of the tailgate space, a motor, and a gear drive assembly coupling the motor to the tailgate extender. The motor and gear drive assembly can be located within the tailgate space.

A resilient seal is mountable around the edge of an opening in a sidewall of a mobile living quarters through which a slide-out room travels. The seal includes two parts that slide together—a mounting portion and a-bulb seal portion—with the bulb seal portion being compressed when the slide-out room is closed. A wiper seal portion extending from the mounting portion is for contacting the adjacent wall of the slide-out room.

A mobile medical facility capable of treating a plurality of patients and being transported over the roadways without requiring extensive transporting means. In general the mobile medical facility includes a trailer. The trailer defines a floor area and has at least a first and second configuration. In the first configuration, the floor area is reduced to allow for transporting of the trailer over the public highways. In the second configuration, the floor area of the trailer is expanded and large enough to support a plurality of beds for treating patients. In some embodiments, the floor area in the second configuration may be at least twice as large as the floor area in the first configuration.

A pivoting cage cargo is formed of opposing gate assemblies mounted on the rearwardmost D-pillar of a pick-up truck and movable from a folded, collapsed storage position against the respective side walls of the cargo box into multiple selectable operative configurations. The pivoting cage cargo retainer can be positioned in two different transversely extending positions that span the cargo bed when the gate assemblies are connected together. In one transverse position, the coupled gate assemblies cooperate with a lowered tailgate to provide a bed extension function. The other transverse position spans across the cargo bed to provide a divider function. Each gate assembly is also positionable into a storage container configuration that defines a small cargo retention area adjacent the side wall for the retention of small objects, such as grocery bags. A latching mechanism retains the gate assembly next to the side wall.

A truck tailgate extension is constructed of a truck tailgate that has a first cavity therein and pivotally engaging a truck bed; a first extension that has a second cavity therein slidingly engaging the first in a transverse direction of the tailgate and concealable by the truck tailgate when retracted; at least one second extension slidingly engaging the second cavity in a longitudinal direction of the tailgate and concealable by the first extension when retracted into the second cavity; a pair of support legs pivotingly engaging a bottom surface of the at least one second extension and stows into a corresponding pair of recessed slots in the bottom surface; and a third extension hingedly connected to a rear edge of the first extension such that the third extension pivotingly engaging an interior surface of the truck tailgate when in a stowed away position.

A truck bed or vehicle cargo liner with integrated sliding bed extension including a drop-in truck bed liner or cargo liner (16) formed of composite/plastic materials with one or more molded composite/plastic or metal rails (18) integrally formed or attached to the structure of the liner (on the floor and/or liner walls) and a bed/floor extension plate (20) of lightweight molded composite/plastic materials or metal plating (encased or not within a shell of composite materials) or a combination of the two in which the underside and/or sides has/have one or more composite tracks (22) integrally formed or attached to the structure of the extension plate for mounting said plate to the previously referenced rail/rails. The extension plate further includes a locking mechanism composed of a handle at the rearward-most end connected via a cable or other mechanical attachment device to one or more spring-loaded locking pins protruding outwardly from the inside of each molded track located at the end of the extension plate nearest to the front of the bed for the purpose of filling/locking/securing into drilled/molded holes in the rails at spaced intervals, thus allowing the extension plate to be extended and locked at various lengths.

A mobile work station assembly for a vehicle. The work station incorporates a docking station, toolbox, file organizer, power inverter, storage container and a mobile phone assembly on a sliding load floor that can extend outwardly from the interior of the vehicle. The work station is removably attached to the load floor. The work station is adapted for mounting in a vehicle interior or within a pickup truck bed.

A pivotable grab handle device is movable between a stowed position, which is positioned against the main tailgate structure, and a deployed position that projects upwardly above the top surface of a lowered main tailgate structure. The grab handle device is mounted on a retainer bracket that is affixed to the top surface of the lowered main tailgate structure. The grab handle incorporates a spring-loaded latch mechanism that is cooperable with the pivot bracket when in the stowed position and cooperable with a striker plate mounted below the top surface of the main tailgate structure to fix the grab handle in the deployed position. A release lever projecting outwardly of the grab handle permits a retraction of the latch member to release the grab handle from either the pivot bracket or the striker plate to allow pivotal movement of the grab handle into the desired position.

A pivoting cage cargo bed extender is pivotally mounted to the D-pillars of a pick-up truck to be pivotally movable between a forward position and a rearward position. In the rearward position, the pivoting cage serves as a supplemental tailgate structure that rests on the open tailgate to extend the operative area of the cargo bed. The pivoting cage is formed of individual segments that are hinged together and separable at the center into two halves that are each collapsible into a stowed position adjacent the respective side wall of the cargo bed. The two halves of the cargo bed are connectable with a latching mechanism at the center to form a pivoting cage structure that spans transversely across the floor of the cargo bed. The latching mechanism compresses an internal O-ring to provide a tight connection between the two halves.

A temporary shelter includes a rectangular base with underlying wheels and four peripheral edges. A tubular enclosure with a longitudinal axis and radial support legs. The tubular enclosure is pivotally mounted to one of the edges of the base for pivotal movement between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the longitudinal axis is in a substantially vertical collection orientation with the tubular enclosure resting upon the base. In the second position, the longitudinal axis is in a substantially horizontal sleeping orientation with the tubular enclosure resting upon the support legs adjacent to the base. A peripheral wall extends upwardly from three of the edges enclosing all but the one edge of the base where the tubular enclosure is mounted. A cover is provided which is adapted to overlie the peripheral walls. A closure is provided which is adapted to close a remote end of the tubular enclosure when in the second position.

A volumetric module that can have all of its exterior claddings, windows, doors, interior finishes, cabinetry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and roofing installed and completed in the factory minimizing work to be completed in the field, and a method to protect the fully finished building module during transport with a series of demountable transport panels. The finished and protected building module is transported to a site utilizing the intermodal shipping network or by different modes of shipping and transportation. At the building site, the finished building module is placed on a foundation or other form of support, the transport panels are removed from the module revealing a fully finished building module suitable for use as a habitable building both in it singular use as well as the creation of a larger habitable building by joining finished building modules at the building site.

A system for forming a retractable cargo support for use over the bed of a truck is disclosed. The system includes a slide system with an elongated slide base having an upwardly opening U-shaped cross-section, an intermediate slide that is slidably mounted within the U-shaped cross-section of the slide base has an upwardly opening U-shaped cross section, and a top slide. The top slide includes a downwardly opening U-shaped cross-section, and is adapted for nesting in a sliding relationship within the U-shaped cross-section of the intermediate slide. A load surface is attached to the top slide, so that mounting the slide base to the bed of the truck allows the load surface to be slid in and out of the bed of the truck.

A tailgate of modular construction and employing an extender assembly. The tailgate employs a thick central molded plastic core structure and inner and outer cover sheets secured to inboard and outboard faces of the core structure. The core structure defines laterally spaced vertically extending channels and the extender assembly includes a pair of laterally spaced post assemblies slidably mounted in the respective channels of the core member and connected at their upper end by a bar member which fits in a pocket defined in the upper face of the tailgate with the extender assembly in its lowered position.

A trailer, such as a conventional full trailer or semi trailer used for hauling freight, is convertible into an assembly hall by folding its sidewalls upwardly to define ceiling extensions extending from the trailer roof. Additional floor extensions which are pivotally affixed to the sides of the trailer floor may then be folded downwardly in substantially parallel relation to the trailer floor to define an assembly hall floor. The floor extensions fold in nested relation between the folding trailer sidewalls/ceiling extensions such that the entire arrangement fits within the same space envelope as the conventional trailer. A utility vehicle comprises plural rows of seats mounted in a vehicle body of the utility vehicle, and an extendable cargo bed positioned behind the seats. The cargo bed includes a bottom wall member having an extended region which is extended forward relative to a cargo accommodating space in an unextended state of the cargo bed. The plural rows of seats include a rear seat having a rear seat seating portion which is rotatably provided on the extended region of the bottom wall member such that the rear seat seating portion is rotatable forward to an upright position. The rear seat seating portion has a bottom plate provided integrally with a bottom surface thereof. In a state where the rear seat seating portion is rotated forward and is in the upright position, the bottom plate of the rear seat seating portion defines a front wall member of the cargo bed.

An amphibious recreational vehicle (motorhome, trailer, SUV, and the like) of conventional RV height, width, and length restricted dimensions necessary to travel on highways and roads, and which upon entering the water, the bottom of the vehicle expands outwardly and upwardly to form a fast planing, wide-beam, ground effects cathedral type double-tunnel hull. The hull makes use of a dynamic air cushion to augment the planing of the hulls, owing to the ground effect created by compression of the ram air stream (and water vapor) rushing through the two tapered tunnels separating the three hulls. The wheels of the vehicle are simultaneously raised out of the water to eliminate parasite drag. The resultant hull is substantially wider than the cabin, providing substantial ocean-going stability for the craft. The folded elements incorporated within the cabin rooftop, raise upward to form a traditional yacht flying bridge, complete with a windshield, steering station, seating, mast, and safety rails. The resultant watercraft closely approximates the off-shore speed, seaworthiness, performance, stability, cabin space, main deck space, and elevated flying bridge deck attributes of conventional yachts. And when on land, the craft is a fully functioning traditional recreational vehicle suited for fast highway travel, driving about towns, staying in RV parks, and camping in the wilderness. This amphibious recreational vehicle is an interrelated component divided from the inventor's previous Comprehensive Vehicle Construction And Hybrid Electric Drive System application.

An expandable trailer comprising a chassis, at least one pair of extendable supports, at least one pair of horizontal floor sections and at least one pair of floor elements. Each support is extendable laterally outwardly to a respective side of a central longitudinal axis of the chassis. The horizontal floor sections of each pair of horizontal floor sections are spaced apart laterally and each have an outer rail which is coupled to a corresponding one of the supports. The floor elements are pivotally coupled to each other and to the floor sections. Upon extension of the extendable supports from a retracted position to an open, extended position, the horizontal floor sections move laterally outwardly to extend from the chassis and the floor elements move from an upright vertical arrangement to an arrangement where the floor elements lie in horizontal alignment with the floor sections.

The present invention is a unitary piece block formed of polymers (such as polystyrene or other high strength polymer) by a single injection molding step which are assembled into a recreational vehicle leveler. The invention ramp provides four sets of four connectors at a top of a floor plate, which are adapted to interlock in cavity structures formed within a cavity on the underside of the block. Two adjacent blocks are secured together by applying to their top surfaces the securing cavity structure of an underside of a third such block. Such blocks can be stacked in an interlocking manner to reduce storage space.
