Description

Title of the invention: Frame element for creating a living space such as a pergola and reinforcing bracket for such a frame element Technical field

[0001] The present invention relates to a frame element for creating a living space placed outside a dwelling or a building, such as a pergola.

[0002] It also relates to a reinforcing stirrup for such a chassis element.

[0003] It also concerns a living space installed outside a dwelling against a vertical wall such as a wall, equipped with such a frame element. Prior art

[0004] Constructions projecting from the outside of a dwelling and resting on a wall of the latter to provide additional living space are known.

[0005] We will mention in particular two types of construction: the pergola which is a construction mainly comprising uprights and a roof, hermetically surrounded by glazing or not, and the veranda which is generally a greenhouse surrounded by glazing.

[0006] These living spaces placed outside homes allow you to stay there at any time to enjoy a garden or a courtyard, while being sheltered from the sun or bad weather.

[0007] Patent FR3055640 B1 in the name of the present applicant discloses a pergola kit, the assembly of its various elements of which allows the construction of a pergola. This pergola comprises an inclined cover, fixed on the one hand at its top by a ridge system to a vertical wall such as a wall, and on the other hand, to the ground by its lower part by means of a wall plate system supported by posts. It has a gutter integral with the wall plate system for collecting water running off the cover.

[0008] The wall plate system and part of this gutter are advantageously formed by a single metal profile whose original design makes it possible to ensure not only a support function for the lower ends of the roof beams and a water collection function, but also a function of embedding with the upper end of the posts supporting the wall plate system.

[0009] Interestingly, this pergola kit is easy to assemble and adaptable to different types of cover.

[0010] Although giving good results, this pergola kit can still be improved.

[0011] The single profile forming the wall plate and gutter system in fact comprises a length section intended to form a support surface for the lower ends of the beams supporting the roof, a length section forming the gutter channel and a length section forming a concave part intended to cooperate by fitting with the upper ends of the posts.

[0012] The posts whose upper ends are embedded in the length section forming a concave part to support the single profile are typically hollow posts having a square or rectangular section of 50x50 cm.

[0013] The spacing between two posts of a pergola obtained from this kit is thus between two (2) and three (3) meters, thereby limiting the size of the glazing of the pergola.

[0014] However, there is a pressing demand for pergolas with large windows in order to obtain a more qualitative visual effect and increased interior brightness.

[0015] Similarly, such a pergola can only accommodate a simple roof and it would be interesting to be able to have more elaborate, and therefore heavier, roofs.

[0016] It has been proposed to implement posts with larger sections to address these issues, but cutting, or machining, of the upper ends of the posts is then necessary on site, or beforehand, to be able to embed the latter in the concave part of the single profile forming the wall plate and gutter system.

[0017] This results in additional operations generating additional costs and extending the time required for the construction of the pergola.

[0018] Also, it would be interesting to have a frame element for the construction of a pergola, the original design of which makes it possible to overcome the disadvantages mentioned above. Subject of the invention

[0019] The present invention relates to a frame element for creating an outdoor living space such as a pergola, simple in its design and in its operating mode, economical and allowing the installation of large glazing.

[0020] An object of the present invention is such a frame element allowing the creation of a living space having a more elaborate roof.

[0021] Another object of the present invention is a reinforcing stirrup for such a frame element, this reinforcing stirrup being configured to mechanically reinforce the single profile forming the wall plate and gutter system.

[0022] It also relates to a living space projecting outside a dwelling or a building, such as a veranda or pergola and comprising at least one such frame element. Statement of the invention

[0023] For this purpose, the invention relates to a frame element for creating a living space such as a pergola, said frame element comprising at least two posts, or uprights, spaced from one another and a roof plate, said roof plate being formed by a profile whose straight cross-section comprises a roof support part and a gutter-forming part.

[0024] According to the invention, this frame element comprises another profile, called a reinforcing stirrup, the straight cross-section of which comprises a central part configured to receive said wall plate by fitting and supporting the latter, said central part being extended at each of its ends by a wing, or lip, for assembly to said posts, each assembly wing extending from said central part downwards, said assembly wings and said central part defining a housing for receiving the upper ends of said posts.

[0025] Note that the present disclosure is not limited to the construction of a pergola but is intended for any other living space placed projecting outside a dwelling or a building, for example a veranda.

[0026] Advantageously, this reinforcing stirrup is a profile intended not only to mechanically reinforce the roof plate to withstand greater forces, but also to form an interface between this roof plate and posts, or uprights, which may have larger sections, without requiring cutting or machining operations of the upper ends of these posts.

[0027] This unique profile thus makes it possible to reduce the costs and time required to create a living space such as a pergola.

[0028] Preferably, this reinforcing stirrup is a single-piece profile, or a single part, made from a metallic material such as steel or aluminum.

[0029] According to a particular embodiment of this frame element for creating a living space, said support part defining a cavity, said reinforcing stirrup has a straight cross-section comprising an upper part having a shape substantially complementary to the support part of said wall plate to receive and support the latter by fitting and a lower part having an inverted U shape to receive by fitting the upper ends of said posts and support said gutter-forming part.

[0030] This lower part of inverted U-shaped section thus advantageously defines a housing in which the upper ends of the posts are received or embedded. This housing can also accommodate one or more glazing units mounted in a tunnel.

[0031] Preferably, this supporting part of the roof having a straight cross-section in the form of a crenel whose summit, or upper surface serving as support for the lower ends of the beams of the roof, is inclined, said part su upper part has a complementary shape for receiving said support part by fitting and extending longitudinally inside the cavity defined by said support part when the latter is fitted onto said reinforcing stirrup.

[0032] Advantageously, the tops of said support part and of said upper part of the reinforcing stirrup have an angle of inclination α relative to the horizontal, the angle α being determined so that the roof of the pergola has a slope of inclination of between 5% and 20%, and for example equal to 12%.

[0033] According to another particular embodiment of this frame element for creating a living space, each wing has one or more orifices for the passage of the rod of a fixing for the purpose of assembling the reinforcing stirrup to the corresponding posts.

[0034] According to yet another particular embodiment of this frame element for creating a living space, the gutter-forming part of said wall plate is configured to form a projection of said reinforcing stirrup when said wall plate is fitted onto said reinforcing stirrup.

[0035] According to yet another particular embodiment of this frame element for creating a living space, said posts are hollow and have a square or rectangular section greater than or equal to 70x70 cm and even better to 90x90 cm.

[0036] According to yet another particular embodiment of this frame element for creating a living space, this reinforcing stirrup is sized to mechanically reinforce said roof plate and allow spacing of said posts, under full load, by a distance greater than four (4) meters, and even better than four and a half meters (4.5 m), and even more preferably five (5) meters.

[0037] By ensuring mechanical reinforcement of the roof plate, this reinforcement stirrup allows for greater spacing of the uprights than in state-of-the-art pergola frames. Advantageously, this frame element thus allows the implementation of large-sized glazing, in particular with a longitudinal dimension greater than or equal to 4.50 m.

[0038] According to yet another particular embodiment of this frame element for creating a living space, said posts being hollow, it comprises at least one rainwater downpipe assembled inside one of said posts. Advantageously, this rainwater downpipe is thus hidden by being integrated into the post. The aesthetics of the living space are thus increased compared to the state of the art in which each gutter is entirely visible since it is fixed on its corresponding post. This downpipe is intended to be connected to the gutter-forming part of said roof trough by a gutter head so as to constitute a system of gutter ensuring the evacuation of rainwater from the living space.

[0039] According to yet another particular embodiment of this frame element for creating a living space, this reinforcing stirrup is made of steel or aluminum.

[0040] The present invention also relates to a reinforcing stirrup for a chassis element as described above.

[0041] According to an embodiment of this reinforcing stirrup, said frame element comprising a roof plate whose straight cross-section comprises a roof support part having a substantially crenellated shape defining a cavity and a gutter-forming part, said reinforcing stirrup consists of a single-piece profile, the straight cross-section of which has an upper part having a shape substantially complementary to the support part of the roof plate to extend longitudinally in said cavity when said plate is fitted onto said stirrup, and a lower part having an inverted U-shape to receive by fitting the upper ends of posts and support the gutter-forming part of said roof plate.

[0042] Preferably, this reinforcing stirrup is manufactured in one piece, or even in one piece, from a metallic material such as steel or aluminum.

[0043] Advantageously, the roof support part having a crenel shape whose top, or upper surface, is inclined, the top, or upper surface, of the upper part of the profile forming a reinforcing stirrup is inclined identically.

[0044] The present invention also relates to a living space placed projecting outside a dwelling or a building, such as a veranda or pergola, mainly comprising a number of uprights, a roof plate resting on these uprights, a number of frame pieces, one end of which rests on the roof plate and the other end is mounted on a wall of said dwelling or said building. According to the invention, this living space comprises one or more frame elements as described previously.

[0045] For purely illustrative purposes, these structural members are beams for a sloping roof of the living space. They could also be joists for a substantially flat roof.

[0046] According to a particular embodiment of this living space placed projecting outside a dwelling or a building, at least the upper end of a joinery carrying a glazing is received in the housing defined by said assembly wings and said central part of the reinforcing stirrup, said joinery being placed between said posts. The joinery and its glazing are then placed in a tunnel in the stirrup.

[0047] According to a particular embodiment of this living space placed projecting outside a dwelling or a building, said posts are hollow and have a square or rectangular section greater than or equal to 70x70 cm and even better to 90x90 cm. Brief description of the drawings

[0048] Other advantages, aims and particular characteristics of the present invention will emerge from the description which follows, given, for explanatory and in no way limiting purposes, with reference to the appended drawings, in which: Fig.l

[0049] [Fig.l] is a schematic representation of a pergola according to a particular embodiment of the present invention; Fig. 2

[0050] [Fig.2] is a partial perspective view of a frame element of the pergola illustrated in [Fig.l]; Fig. 3

[0051] [Fig.3] is a cross-sectional view of the reinforcing stirrup implemented in the pergola illustrated in [Fig.l]; Description of the embodiments

[0052] The drawings and the description below contain, for the most part, elements of a certain character. They may therefore not only serve to better understand the present invention, but also contribute to its definition, where appropriate.

[0053] First of all, note that the figures are not to scale.

[0054] Figures 1 to 3 schematically represent a pergola according to a particular embodiment of the present invention.

[0055] This pergola 1 comprises a system for producing a cover 2 comprising: - one or more plates 21 of cover 2, - several beams 22 intended to support the plates 21 of cover 2 by their edges, - several posts 6, - a ridge system 3, intended to be fixed along said vertical wall 7 such as a wall and in a substantially horizontal direction, ensuring the support of the top of the inclined roofing 2 by pressing the upper ends of the beams 22 on the ridge system 3, and having a lip seal (not shown) ensuring the seal between the vertical wall 7 and the top of the roofing 2, - a roof plate 41, intended to be carried by the posts 6, and intended to provide support for the lower part of the roof 2 by supporting the in- lower beams 22 on a portion of this roof plate 41.

[0056] The roof 2 is formed of a structure comprising the beams 22, mutually spaced, substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the ridge system 3, and to the longitudinal axis of said roofing plate 41. The spacing between the consecutive beams 22 corresponds to the width dimension of the plates 21 of the roof 2, and so as to allow the support of each plate 21 of the roof 2 by its longitudinal edges, respectively on two consecutive beams 22 of the roof 2. The beams 22 are typically tubular profiles.

[0057] The posts 6 are tubular profiles, such as rectangular tubes, and are typically oriented substantially parallel to the vertical wall 7.

[0058] This roofing plate 41 is formed here by a single profile whose straight cross-section comprises a support part 43 for the roof and a part forming a gutter 42. The upper surface of the support part 43 serves as a support for the lower ends of the beams 22 of the roof 2.

[0059] A reinforcing stirrup 5 is interposed between this roof plate 41 and the upper ends of the posts 6, this reinforcing stirrup 5 being constituted by a single profile made from a metallic material such as aluminum.

[0060] The support part 43 of the roof plate 41 having a crenellation shape defining a cavity, this reinforcing stirrup 5 has an upper part 51 having a shape substantially complementary to the support part 43 to extend longitudinally in said cavity when the roof plate 41 is fitted onto this stirrup 5.

[0061] The lower part 52 of this reinforcing stirrup 5 has an inverted U shape to receive by fitting the upper ends of the posts 6 and by its base to support the gutter-forming part 42 of the roof plate 4L.

[0062] The arms of this U are formed by assembly wings, or lips, 53 extending downwards and defining with the base, a housing 54 for receiving by fitting the upper ends of the posts 6.

[0063] This housing 54 can also accommodate a large glazing unit mounted in a tunnel between the posts 6.

[0064] Each wing 53 has holes for assembly by means of fixings of the reinforcing stirrup 5 to the corresponding post 6.

[0065] Advantageously, this reinforcing stirrup 5 thus makes it possible to adapt, without additional cutting or machining of the posts 6, posts having a larger section such as 90x90 cm on the roof plate 4L.

[0066] This reinforcing stirrup 5 also makes it possible to increase the span between two posts 6, in particular by increasing it from three (3) meters to more than 4.50 meters, or even five (5) meters.

[0067] Advantageously, the applicant has carried out bending tests showing the technical interest of this reinforcing stirrup 5. In particular in a configuration with gutter and stirrup screwed every 300 mm and for a spacing between the posts 6 of 4.50 m, the bending at the center of the roof plate and reinforcing stirrup 5 assembly was measured at less than eleven (11) mm for a load of 90 (ninety) kilograms.

[0068] The implementation of this reinforcing stirrup 5 also makes it possible to support a heavier roof 2 such as one made of glass for example, which makes the assembly more reliable.
