Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Device for circulating an air flow for a motor vehicle.
[0001] The invention relates to a device for circulating an air flow of a vehicle, for example arranged at the level of a grille of a motor vehicle. The invention also relates to an installation comprising such a device. The invention finally relates to a motor vehicle equipped with an installation and / or a device according to the invention.
[0002] Motor vehicles conventionally comprise a grille mounted on a front end of the vehicle allowing the passage of an external air flow towards a circulation device configured to guide said flow towards at least one module for cooling a fluid such as a radiator of an installation, in particular a ventilation, heating and / or air conditioning installation of the vehicle, otherwise called HVAC installation, for the English acronym "Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning".
[0003] In order to ensure suitable circulation of the air flow and prevent leaks at the intake and circulation of the air flow, the circulation devices conventionally comprise an air guide delimiting a circulation duct in which the cooling module is arranged. The circulation devices are thus configured and dimensioned specifically according to a vehicle model, more particularly according to an architecture of the front face of the vehicle. In particular, the circulation devices are adapted according to the shape and dimensions of the front shield of the vehicle, carrying the grille, or according to the position of the various cross members carrying it.A disadvantage of such circulation devices is that it is necessary to multiply the references of air guides from one vehicle model to another, which is accompanied by significant costs both for the development of such parts and for their manufacture.
[0004] The present invention falls within this context and aims to resolve the aforementioned drawbacks by proposing a device for circulating an air flow allowing a simple modular assembly and which can be produced at low cost so as to be adapted to a wide variety of vehicles.
[0005] The invention relates to a device for circulating an air flow for admitting an external air flow into a vehicle installation. The circulation device comprises a duct comprising a primary guide comprising a plurality of primary walls, delimiting a first part of the duct, and a plurality of primary connecting members. The duct also comprises a secondary guide configured to be movable relative to the primary guide, the secondary guide comprising a plurality of secondary walls, delimiting a second part of the duct configured to extend at least partly in continuity with the first part along a direction of circulation of the external air flow, and a plurality of secondary connecting members each configured to cooperate with one of the primary connecting members so as to allow the movement of the secondary guide relative to the primary guide according to a translational movement along a first direction.
[0006] In particular, all or part of the primary connecting members may comprise a primary guide wall extending along the first direction and all or part of the secondary connecting members may comprise a secondary guide wall configured to extend in contact with the primary guide wall.
[0007] According to an exemplary embodiment, at least one of the primary connecting members may comprise a “U”-shaped structure comprising at least two flanks configured to form a stop for all or part of the secondary connecting member along a direction orthogonal to the first direction.
[0008] Optionally, the primary guide may comprise a stop member configured to hinder movement of the secondary guide relative to the primary guide along a direction of the first direction.
[0009] The primary guide may comprise at least one primary lip that is flexible, elastically deformable, and configured to extend into contact with at least one of the secondary walls independently of the position of the secondary guide relative to the primary guide and / or the secondary guide may comprise at least one secondary lip that is flexible, elastically deformable, and configured to extend into contact with at least one grille and / or a bumper of the vehicle independently of the position of the secondary guide relative to the primary guide.
[0010] Optionally, the secondary guide may comprise at least one fixing lug extending projecting from at least one of the secondary walls and configured to be fixed to at least one support, such as a crosspiece, by means of at least one fixing means and / or the secondary guide may comprise at least one oblong orifice extending along the first direction and configured to receive at least one fixing means.
[0011] In particular, the device for circulating an external air flow may further comprise a device for regulating the circulation of the air flow comprising a frame and at least one flap movable relative to said frame, the regulating device being fixed to the primary guide or the regulating device being fixed to the secondary guide so as to be moved concomitantly therewith.
[0012] The invention also extends to an installation of a vehicle comprising a device for circulating an external air flow according to the invention and a module for heat treatment, in particular electrical, of the external air flow, the primary guide being configured to carry all or part of the heat treatment module.
[0013] The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising a device for circulating an external air flow and / or an installation according to the invention.
[0014] The invention finally relates to a method of mounting an installation according to the invention in a vehicle, the method comprising: - the positioning and fixing of the primary guide on a primary support; then - the positioning of the secondary guide on the primary guide then the adjustment of the position of the secondary guide relative to the primary guide by translation along the first direction; followed by - fixing the secondary guide in the desired position.
[0015] Other details, characteristics and advantages will emerge more clearly on reading the detailed description given below, for informational and non-limiting purposes, in relation to the various exemplary embodiments illustrated in the following figures:

[0024] [Fig.9] is a schematic representation of the primary guide.
[0025] [Fig. 1] schematically illustrates an exemplary embodiment of a vehicle 100, in particular a motor vehicle 100 equipped with an installation 1, in particular a ventilation, heating and / or air conditioning installation 1, also referred to as HVAC, for the English acronym “Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning”. The vehicle 100 may be of any type, in particular a vehicle with a thermal engine, electric or hybrid. The installation 1 comprises at least one circulation device 2 of an external air flow FA to the vehicle 100 and at least one heat treatment module 3.
[0026] The heat treatment module 3 may be integrated in whole or in part into the installation 1, for example into a ventilation, heating and / or air conditioning installation and / or into an engine cooling installation, not shown. The heat treatment module 3 comprises in particular at least one heat exchanger 11 arranged within the circulation device 2 and configured to be crossed by the outside air flow FA. For example, the at least one heat exchanger 11 may be a radiator, in particular an electric one, configured to heat the outside air flow FA. Alternatively or additionally, the at least one heat exchanger 11 may be configured to allow the circulation of at least one fluid, such as a heat transfer fluid intended for cooling a combustion engine of the vehicle 100 or a refrigerant fluid intended for HVAC.Throughout the description below, the heat treatment module 3 is described as comprising a single heat exchanger 11, in particular of the radiator type; it is nevertheless understood that the present invention extends to a heat treatment module 3 comprising a plurality of heat exchangers.
[0027] Optionally, the installation 1 further comprises a device 4 for regulating the circulation of the outside air flow FA arranged in the circulation device 2, as further explained below, and configured to regulate a flow rate of said flow. In a known manner, the regulating device 4 comprises a frame 41 and a plurality of flaps 42 arranged movably on said frame 4L. The regulating device 4 also comprises a means for adjusting the admission of the air flow FA, in particular an electrically controlled actuator, configured to move all or part of the flaps 42 of the cassette so as to regulate said flow.
[0028] Figures 2 to 10 illustrate in more detail different examples and embodiments of the circulation device 2 according to the invention. According to the conventions relating to the automotive field, throughout the description below, the direction in which the motor vehicle 100 moves in a straight line is defined as being the longitudinal direction X. The direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and located in a plane parallel to a ground on which the vehicle 100 rests is called the transverse direction Y. The direction perpendicular to the directions X and Y is called the vertical direction Z. Thus, a direct reference XYZ is defined. The terms “top” and “bottom” or “upper” and “lower” are understood in their general sense, the terms “bottom” and “lower” designating a greater proximity to the ground. The same applies to the terms “front” and “rear”. Also, the terms “ first”, “second” or “primary” and “secondary” are intended to distinguish similar elements and not to define a hierarchy within said elements.
[0029] Generally, the circulation device 2 allows the admission of the outside air flow FA into the installation 1. It comprises at least one duct 21 comprising a primary guide 5 and a secondary guide 6, configured to be movable relative to the primary guide 5. In particular, the secondary guide 6 is configured to be moved relative to the primary guide 5 in a translational movement along a first direction 200. The primary guide 5 and the secondary guide 6 are configured to cooperate together so as to form the duct 21. Here, the term "duct" is understood to mean a passage of the air flow open on two opposite sides, one facing a grille 12 of the vehicle and the other in the opposite direction, in particular towards the heat treatment module 3.
[0030] The primary guide 5 comprises a plurality of primary walls 51, delimiting a first part 21a of the duct 21, particularly a primary opening allowing the passage of the external air flow FA. According to the example illustrated, the primary guide 5 comprises at least one upper primary wall and one lower primary wall which are opposite along the vertical direction Z and connected to each other by lateral primary walls 51. In particular, said walls form a single-piece assembly, that is to say they are made in one piece and cannot be separated from each other.
[0031] In particular, the primary guide 5 is configured to carry all or part of the heat treatment module 3. As further explained below, when the installation 1 is assembled, the primary opening extends opposite one or more of the heat exchangers 11 of the heat treatment module 3. In particular, the primary guide 5 comprises a plurality of connecting means 52 configured to carry and fix all or part of the heat treatment module 3, for example arranged at the level of opposite primary walls 51.
[0032] The secondary guide 6 comprises a plurality of secondary walls 61 delimiting a second part 21b of the duct 21 configured to cooperate with the primary walls 51 of the primary guide 5. The secondary guide 6 extends at least partly in continuity, that is to say opposite, the primary guide 5, that is to say the first part 21a of the duct 21 along a direction of circulation of the external air flow FA so that they are fluidically connected. The primary guide 5 and the secondary guide 6 thus cooperate so as to form, together, the duct 21 at which the regulation device 4 and / or at least the at least one heat exchanger 11 can be arranged.
[0033] Similar to the primary guide 5, the secondary guide 6 forms a passage for the external air flow FA open on two opposite sides, one facing the grille. 12 and the other facing the primary guide 5 when the circulation device 2 is installed in the vehicle 100. All or part of the plurality of secondary walls 61 thus fits into a shape complementary to a shape of the primary guide 5. For example, as illustrated, all or part of the secondary walls 61 fits into a cylindrical or substantially cylindrical shape with a polygonal base, for example so as to form a parallelogram surrounding a secondary opening extending at least partly opposite the primary opening. According to the example illustrated, the secondary guide 6 comprises at least one upper secondary wall 61 and one lower secondary wall 61 which are opposite along the vertical direction Z and connected to each other by lateral secondary walls 61. In particular, said walls form a single-piece assembly.
[0034] According to a particular embodiment, the secondary guide 6 may, optionally, comprise two separate portions connected to each other and formed by the secondary walls 61. A cooperation portion 63 is configured to cooperate with the primary guide 5 as described previously; it may have a cylindrical or other shape. A concentration portion 64 of the air flow is configured to direct the air flow from the grille 12 towards the cooperation portion 63 and the primary guide 5, in particular when the grille 12 has dimensions greater than the dimensions of the opening formed by the secondary guide 6. In particular, the cooperation portion 63 and the concentration portion 64 form a single-piece assembly. Thus, when the circulation device 2 is installed in the vehicle 100, the cooperation portion 63 of the secondary guide 6 is interposed between the concentration portion 64 and the primary guide 5 along the direction of circulation of the external air flow FA. In other words, the concentration portion 64 is interposed between the grille 12 and the cooperation portion 63 along this same direction. Such a principle advantageously makes it possible to maintain a cooperation portion 63 of similar shape and / or dimension for different models of vehicles 100 but to adapt the shape of the concentration portion 64 simply and at lower cost to a wider range of vehicles. In addition, the concentration portion 64 helps to achieve sealing between the secondary guide 6 and the grille 12. For example, the concentration portion 64 may have a frustoconical or substantially frustoconical shape.
[0035] In particular, when the circulation device 2 comprises a device 4 for regulating the circulation of the external air flow FA, the latter can be carried by the secondary guide 6 or by the primary guide 5. The circulation device 2 is then fixed by means of at least one fixing element, such as a screw or a clip, on at least one fixing location provided for this purpose at the primary or secondary opening. For example, as illustrated, the regulation device 4 can be arranged and fixed on the cooperation portion 63 of the secondary guide 6 so as to be moved concomitantly therewith. It may in particular be fixed on one or more of the plurality of secondary walls 61. Such a principle applies mutatis mutandis when the regulation device 4 is arranged and fixed on the primary guide 5.
[0036] Optionally, the primary guide 5 or the secondary guide 6, carrying the regulation device 4 of the external air flow FA, may comprise a holding member 43, configured to form a stop for the regulation device 4, in particular its frame 41, along at least one direction, for example along the first direction 200 or the longitudinal direction X. In this case, the holding member 43 is a bar connecting opposite walls of the guide in question, for example here the upper and lower secondary walls 61 of the secondary guide 6.
[0037] Optionally again, the primary guide 5 or the secondary guide 6, carrying the regulation device 4, may comprise a notch 44 or a cutout configured to allow the passage of cables and the connection of the adjustment means of the regulation device 4.
[0038] The primary guide 5 further comprises a plurality of primary connecting members 53 while the secondary guide 6 comprises a plurality of secondary connecting members 65. The secondary connecting members 65 are each configured to cooperate with one of the primary connecting members 53 so as to allow the secondary guide 6 to move relative to the primary guide 5 according to the translational movement along a first direction 200. In particular, each secondary connecting member 65 may extend opposite, along the first direction 200, at least one of the primary connecting members 53. For example, the first direction 200 may be parallel or substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction X and / or to the direction of circulation of the air flow. The secondary guide 6 thus moves by sliding relative to the primary guide 5 so that the circulation device 2 is telescopic.
[0039] The secondary guide 6 is thus movable and capable of being moved between at least two distinct positions. Figures 1, 2 and 5 illustrate in solid lines and dotted lines examples of opposite extreme positions. It is understood that the secondary guide 6 can also be arranged in an intermediate position, between said extreme positions, as required.
[0040] In particular, the number of primary connecting members 53 and secondary connecting members 65 is equal. Preferably, the primary guide 5 and the secondary guide 6 respectively comprise two primary connecting members 53 and two secondary connecting members 65. In particular, according to a preferred embodiment, said connecting members are arranged at opposite walls of the guide in question, in particular at the side walls of said guide. Alternatively, said connecting members are included or merged in opposite walls, in particular at the level of the side walls of the guide considered.
[0041] According to a preferred embodiment, illustrated in Figures 4 to 9, all or part of the primary connecting members 53 comprises a primary guide wall 54 extending along the first direction 200. Similarly, all or part of the secondary connecting members 65 comprises a secondary guide wall 66 configured to extend in contact with the primary guide wall 54 of one of the primary connecting members 53. For the sake of clarity, the following description is made with reference to one of the primary connecting members 53 and one of the secondary connecting members 65 cooperating with each other. It is nevertheless understood that it extends to the plurality of members considered.
[0042] The primary guide wall 54 and the secondary guide wall 66 extend along the first direction 200. Also, the primary guide wall 54 and the secondary guide wall 66 extend parallel to each other. When the secondary guide 6 is moved relative to the primary guide 5, the secondary guide wall 66 slides relative to the primary guide wall 54. The primary guide wall 54 is configured to form a stop for the secondary guide wall 66 along at least one direction of a second direction 300, orthogonal to the first direction 200 and, in the illustrated example, parallel to the transverse direction Y. According to the illustrated, non-limiting example embodiment, the primary guide wall 54 has a more external position than the secondary guide wall 66 along the second direction 300. Alternatively, the primary guide wall 54 may have a more internal position.Preferably, the primary connecting members 53 are carried by opposite primary walls 51 and the primary guide walls 54 each have a more external position than the secondary guide walls 66, that is to say that the two secondary guide walls 66 are interposed between the primary guide walls 54 considered along the second direction 300. Such a principle advantageously makes it possible to achieve the blocking of the primary guide 5 along the two directions of the direction defined previously, here the second direction 300.
[0043] Optionally, the primary guide 5, in particular at least one of the primary connecting members 53, comprises a stop member 55 configured to hinder the movement of the secondary guide 6 relative to the primary guide 5 along a direction of the first direction 200, here towards the rear of the vehicle 100. The stop member 55 may be connected to at least one of the primary walls 51 and / or to the primary guide wall 54 of at least one of the primary connecting members 53. For example, the stop member 55 may be a stop wall or a stop tab. The stop member 55 extends across the first direction 200, along the second direction 300 and / or a third direction 400, orthogonal to the first direction 200 and to the second direction 300, here parallel to the vertical direction Z. In particular, the stop member 55 can carry at least one damping element 56 configured to prevent the propagation of vibration between the primary guide 5 and the secondary guide 6. For example, the damping element 56 can be a part made of rubber or flexible material or, as illustrated, a flexible strip included in the stop member 55.
[0044] Optionally, at least one of the primary connecting members 53 comprises a “U”-shaped structure configured to limit the movement of the secondary connecting member 65 along two directions orthogonal to each other. Said structure comprises at least two flanks 57, forming the branches of the “U”, configured to form a stop for all or part of the secondary connecting member 65 along the third direction 400. According to exemplary embodiments, the two flanks 57 are connected to one of the primary walls 51, to the stop member 55 and / or to the primary guide wall 54.In this case, the primary connecting member 53 considered comprises a plurality of “U”-shaped structures, a first formed between the two flanks 57 and the primary guide wall 54, limiting the movements of the secondary guide 6 along the second 300 and the third direction 400, and a second “U”-shaped structure, formed between the stop member 55 and said flanks 57, limiting the movements of the secondary guide 6 along the first direction 200 and the third direction 400.
[0045] As illustrated in [Fig. 3] or 4, the primary guide 5 may optionally comprise at least one elastically deformable primary lip 58. For example, the flexible primary lip 58 may be made of a plastic material such as EPDM or rubber. The primary lip 58 is carried by at least one of the primary walls 51 and is configured to extend into contact with at least one of the secondary walls 61, independently of the position of the secondary guide 6 relative to the primary guide 5. The at least one primary lip 58 makes it possible to ensure sealing between the primary guide 5 and the secondary guide 6, thus preventing the leakage of the external air flow FA at their cooperation interface. The at least one primary lip 58 is configured to extend into contact with at least one of the secondary walls 61 independently of the position of the secondary guide 6 relative to the primary guide 5.The primary lip 58 may extend over all or part of a dimension of the primary wall 51 carrying it. In particular, preferably, the primary guide 5 comprises a plurality of primary lips 58, for example carried by separate primary walls 51 cooperating with the secondary guide 6.
[0046] Additionally or alternatively, the secondary guide 6 may comprise at least one elastically deformable flexible secondary lip 67, for example made of a plastic material such as EPDM or rubber. The at least one secondary lip 67 is carried by at least one free end of all or part of the secondary walls 61, in particular at the concentration portion 64. It is configured, when the air flow circulation device 2 is arranged in the vehicle 100, to come into contact with the grille 12 and / or a shield 13 carrying said grille 12 independently of the position of the secondary guide 6 relative to the primary guide 5. The at least one secondary lip 67 makes it possible to ensure sealing between the secondary guide 6 and the grille 12, thus preventing the leakage of the external air flow FA upstream of the circulation device 2. The at least one secondary lip 67 is configured to extend into contact with the grille 12 and / or the shield 13 independently of the position of the secondary guide 6 relative to the primary guide 5. In particular, preferably, the secondary guide 6 comprises a plurality of secondary lips 67.For example, each secondary wall 61 of the concentration portion 64 carries one of said lips.
[0047] The presence of at least one primary lip 58 and / or at least one secondary lip 67 thus advantageously makes it possible to ensure the sealing of the conduit 21 formed by the primary guide 5 and secondary guide 6 on the one hand and the sealing between the circulation device 2 and the calender 12 on the other hand. It also ensures the reduction of the vibratory forces at these same zones.
[0048] When installed in the vehicle 100, the circulation device 2 is fixed at different points. The primary guide 5 can be fixed by means of conventional fixing means. The secondary guide 6 comprises at least one fixing lug 68 and / or at least one oblong orifice 69 configured to receive at least one fixing means. As illustrated in [Fig. 3], the fixing lug 68 projects from at least one of the secondary walls 61. It is configured to be fixed to a secondary support, such as a lower and / or upper cross member, by means of at least one fixing means such as a screw or a clip. The fixing means can, for example, be arranged in a hole of the fixing lug 68 so as to extend horizontally or substantially horizontally. The position of the secondary guide 6 along the first direction 200, here the longitudinal direction X, is adjusted accordingly, as explained below with reference to the mounting method according to the invention. The adjustment of the position of the secondary guide 6 thus allows suitable cooperation between the fixing lug 68 and the secondary support independently of the positioning of the latter along the first direction 200 within the vehicle 100. Alternatively or additionally, at least one of the secondary walls 61 may comprise the oblong orifice 69, configured to receive at least one fixing means such as a screw, a screw / nut assembly or even a clip. Such an orifice advantageously allows the positioning of the fixing means. vertically or substantially vertically. Optionally, the oblong orifice 69 extends parallel to the first direction 200.
[0049] Preferably, the secondary guide 6 comprises a plurality of fixing lugs 68 and / or oblong orifices. For example, secondary walls 61 of the concentration portion 64, upper and lower, carry at least one of the fixing lugs 68 and / or comprise at least one of the oblong orifices 69.
[0050] The invention finally relates to a method for mounting the installation 1. The method comprises the positioning and fixing of the primary guide 5 on a primary support. For example, the primary guide 5 is fixed on an upper cross member and / or a lower cross member. Optionally, all or part of the heat treatment module 3 and / or the regulation device 4 described above may be fixed on the primary guide 5, before or after its positioning in the vehicle 100.
[0051] The method then comprises positioning the secondary guide 6 on the primary guide 5. When the vehicle 100 comprises a regulating device 4, the latter can optionally be fixed to the secondary guide 6 prior to its installation as described above. The primary connecting members 53 then cooperate with the secondary connecting members 65. Also, all or part of the secondary walls 61, in particular included in the cooperation portion 63, then extends into contact with all or part of the primary walls 51 of the primary guide 5.
[0052] The position of the secondary guide 6 relative to the primary guide 5 is then adjusted by translation along the first direction 200 to a suitable position, for example as a function of the position of the secondary support. [Fig.l] or 5 illustrates examples of suitable positions as a function of the architecture of the front face of the vehicle and the position of the secondary support. A first position is shown in dotted lines, in which the conduit has a first length along the first direction 200 while a second position of the secondary guide 6 is shown in solid lines, in which the conduit has a second length, longer than the first length, along the first direction 200. The telescopic function of the circulation device 2 thus allows adjustment of the length of the conduit. When the primary guide 5 comprises at least one primary lip 58, the latter can be deformed as a function of the movement of the secondary guide 6. For example, in the first position the at least one primary lip 58 can be separated or deformed as illustrated in [Fig.7].
[0053] The secondary guide 6 is then fixed to the secondary support by means of fixing means as explained above in order to maintain the secondary guide 6 in the desired position. For example, the secondary guide can be fixed to a upper cross member and a lower cross member, these being able to have a similar or distinct position along the first direction 200.
[0054] The shield 13 and the grille 12 of the vehicle 100 can then be installed. In particular, the position of the secondary guide 6 is defined in such a way that the at least one secondary lip 67 extends into contact with the shield 13 and / or the grille 12 of the vehicle 100. The secondary guide 6 and the primary guide 5 thus form a single conduit 21 extending continuously from the grille 12 to the heat treatment module 3. The movable secondary guide 6, interposed between the grille 12 and the primary guide 5 along the first direction 200, advantageously makes it possible to adjust the length of the conduit 21 formed, more particularly the distance between the primary guide 5 and the shield 13, according to the model of the vehicle 100 and the architecture of its front face.
[0055] Thus, the present invention thus proposes a modular circulation device, particularly telescopic, making it possible to adjust the length of the circulation duct of the external air flow simply and at low cost. The circulation device is adapted to variable architectures of the front face of the vehicle and advantageously makes it possible to reduce the number of references of circulation devices required for different vehicles.
[0056] The present invention cannot, however, be limited to the means and configurations described and illustrated here and it also extends to any equivalent means or configuration and to any technically operative combination of such means insofar as they ultimately fulfill the functionalities described and illustrated in the present document.
