AI Technical Summary
Current waste collection systems lack educational value and fail to effectively measure and quantify recyclable waste, which is essential for sustainable development education and waste reduction projects.
A graduated cardboard collection tower with vertical openings and QR codes that allows for the measurement of waste height and volume, providing access to educational resources and promoting selective sorting and waste reduction.
The educational collection tower enhances educational outcomes by providing a visual and measurable approach to waste collection, promoting environmental awareness and encouraging selective sorting and waste reduction among students and community members.
Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Educational cardboard collection tower for selective sorting and quantification of recyclable waste.
[0001] The present invention relates to a giant, graduated cardboard collection box intended to measure the quantity of recyclable waste collected within a school, extracurricular or association community.
[0002] Current collection boxes usually have a collection function without offering an educational purpose concerning the measurement of the quantity of waste collected in connection with sustainable development education projects, waste reduction and scientific investigation approaches.
[0003] The proposed educational collection box is an educational tower with fine intermediate vertical openings allowing the height and nature of the waste collected to be viewed. Vertical graduations attached to the openings are inscribed on the one hand, for measuring the height of the waste in the tower, and on the other hand for measuring the corresponding collected volume. The tower has a QR code allowing access to an educational booklet for monitoring the volumes collected, proposals for reducing and reusing recyclable waste.
[0004] The educational collection tower is a square-based collection tower with 4 visible faces. The recycled cardboard template of the tower is a self-assembly system. The upper part of each face includes holes for inserting the various packaging and recyclable materials inside the tower. The proposed collection box includes fine vertical linear openings allowing the height of the waste in the tower to be visualized. A graduation in meters and a sub-graduation in centimeters printed on the cardboard, next to the vertical linear openings, is used to quantify the height of waste in the tower. Another graduation allows the volume of waste to be quantified in cubic meters. A recycled cardboard lid allows the tower to be closed and opened at the top to empty its contents into the municipality's collection system.Depending on the particular embodiments chosen, the device can provide different personalized printed patterns which can be colored.
[0005] The device according to the invention is particularly intended for schools and extracurricular establishments and all other structures for raising awareness or promoting environmental education for children (Permanent Centre for Environmental Initiatives, House of National and Regional Natural Parks, Environmental Education Association, etc.) for projects raising awareness of selective sorting and waste reduction.
Claims
