The present invention provides a flexible digital display retractable into a portable housing. Electronic components are contained within the housing to provide for portable storage, viewing and markup of digital documents, such as full-size architectural drawings, on the digital display device.

An article for mounting from or against the ceiling is removably coupled to a base fixedly secured to the ceiling, by a person standing on the floor, supporting the article on an elongated rod, and thrusting the article against the base to couple the article and the secured base. The article is removed by inserting the rod into the article, exerting a force on the rod to uncouple the article from the base, and supporting the article on the rod as the article is lowered. The article is thus positioned on or hung from the ceiling, without being manually contacted by the person. A large size display is transportable, being construed of multiple rigid segments containing light emitting diodes (LED's). The rigid segments are linked by hinges or cables so the display is flexible and can be rolled up for storage and transport. The display can be unrolled upward or downwards such as from a protective container, such as a canister or truss. The weight of the display on the linked hinges or the tensioned cables provides sufficient rigidity. Such cables, like a signal and power distribution bus, are connected to the rear of each rigid element. The display can be repaired by removing and replacing selected rigid segments from the front thereof.

The disclosure concerns a light display panel with a matrix of pixels each comprising three monochrome electroluminescent diodes of three colors. A remotely controlled electronic display sign which operates with a plasma display and which provides for humidity control and the like allowing the sign to be used in various environments. The sign is essentially self-contained and includes those components necessary for enabling a display of desired material from a remote control source. A controller in or associated with the sign is accessible either electrically, or through satellite transmission or other wireless transmission from the remote source which allows the display of the sign to be changed at will. A method of collaborative interactions with billboards includes receiving a request, by a billboard network manager, from an advertisement company to display synchronized interactive advertisements and video games on billboards in an area, inviting users in the area to participate in the advertisements and video games through the billboards and mobile devices of the users via a network, checking registration of the users to participate in the collaborative interactions with billboards, and checking a volume of the users in the area for appropriate synchronized advertisements and video games. If the volume of users is appropriate for synchronized advertisements and video games, then the billboard network manager displays the synchronized advertisements and video games, and continues to track the volume of the users in the area. If the volume of users is not appropriate for synchronized advertisements and video games, then the billboard network management reconfigures synchronized billboard content for more appropriate advertisements and video games by one of randomly changing a content, and propagating and extending through synchronized billboards a particular content of some billboard section that brought more interest from the users.

The present invention discloses a roll-type flexible device for displaying, comprising: a body housing in which a flexible display portion is accommodated so as to be wound and unwound; a length adjusting member, which is mounted on the body housing for maintaining the flexible display portion in an unrolled state, and which has an extendable structure by being linked to the unwinding of the flexible display portion; and a fixing member for fixing the extended length of the length adjusting member.

An apparatus, systems and corresponding methods for a network of outdoor modular signs. Each outdoor sign is composed of various modules which combined make the sign fully contained and operable. Modules include paper-like displays, a wireless port, solar panels, battery packs and a frame. A network of such modular signs is placed within an outdoor area. A wireless station is provided with satellite link for receiving data where said data is presented as scheduled on the electronic paper-like display modules. Solar panel and / or battery pack modules power the displays. The outdoor modular sign is suitable for deployment in parking lots and other outdoor areas where a network of signs can be deployed in close proximity to each other providing engaging advertisement and messages to consumers walking through the defined outdoor areas.

A bi-stable snap action ribbon spring incorporated into self-latching, spring-loaded mechanisms. The dual mode stability of the spring eliminates the need for complex latching mechanisms thereby simplifying the device manufacture and device reliability. The spring is stable in either a linear or coiled state enabling the simplified design of rolling, hinging and feeding mechanisms. A plan or map rolling and presentation device incorporates a bi-stable snap action ribbon spring along with optional spring end caps and stiffening elements. A light-emitting display system has an alignment mechanism to align or angle light-emitting tiles of the display. A first tile connects to a second tile by joining a first clamp portion on the first tile with a second clamp portion on the second tile. In an implementation, the alignment mechanism includes a replaceable angle adjustment insert that is inserted into at least one of the clamp portions, such as the first clamp portion. When the first and second clamp portions are joined, a surface of the second clamp portion presses against the insert and a desired angle between the first and second tile is formed. The insert can have any angle so that any desired angle can be formed between the first and second tiles.

A cable hanger includes: a base panel having opposed ends; a pair of arms, each of the arms attached to a respective end of the base panel and having a free end; a pair of locking projections, each of the locking projections attached to a respective free end of the arms; and a pair of gripping members, each gripping member attached to a respective arm, each gripping member having opposed ends, wherein one of the ends of each gripping member is fixed to the arms and the other of the ends of each gripping member is fixed to the arm or to the base panel.
