AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing box or pallet legs made of wood are susceptible to insect infestation requiring costly fumigation, while those made of corrugated cardboard are fragile and prone to deformation or tearing during transport.

Method used

The device uses reinforced cardboard feet composed of multiple layers of paper with inverted flutes, glued and nailed together, optionally with additional reinforcement, to enhance strength and durability.

Benefits of technology

The reinforced cardboard feet provide enhanced resistance to deformation and insect infestation, reducing transport costs and damage risks.

Description

Title of the invention: Box or pallet feet

[0001] The present invention relates to a device for reinforcing the feet of crates or pallets intended for transport. These feet, with their particular structure, make it possible to obtain greater resistance of the crates or pallets

[0002] The feet of the crates or pallets are made either of wood or strips of corrugated cardboard. For wooden feet, the risk is that of infestation by insects during transport and fumigation is necessary to prevent the proliferation of pests (ISPM15 treatment). This generates additional costs for transport. For corrugated cardboard feet, the main disadvantage lies in the fragility of the cardboard which is deformed and less resistant when it is in contact with water or because of the forks used to load the crates or pallets into the containers which tear them.

[0003] The device according to the invention makes it possible to overcome these two drawbacks. It comprises, in fact, according to a first characteristic, one or more feet composed of one or more sheets of paper with three inverted or unglued grooves, with special white cardboard glue, on one or more cardboard sheets. These layers of paper are then wound in a spiral and bound together with a nail. Additional reinforcement below the feet of crates or pallets can be added along the entire length to provide additional strength to large crates, pallets or crates.

[0004] The cardboard sheets are cut to the desired width, rolled up and then held in place with a single nail. The feet are then glued with special cardboard glue and then nailed with 4 nails to the bottom of the box from the inside.

[0005] The attached drawings illustrate the invention:

[0006] [Fig-1] shows from the front, the device of the invention, that is to say the base of the crate or pallet 100% cardboard

[0007] [Fig.2] represents a pallet with and without reinforcement in oriented particle board

[0008] [Fig.3] represents a pallet box without reinforcement under the foot.

[0009] [Fig.4] represents the developed foot with the dimensions and folds.

[0010] The thickness of the sheet is 15 millimeters. Once the sheet is rolled up, the foot has a dimension of 195 millimeters by 180 millimeters by 95 millimeters in height.

[0011] In the embodiment according to [Fig. 4], the layer of corrugated paper with a dimension of 180 millimeters by 1452 millimeters is folded six times - at different and progressive intervals. The first fold is 19 millimeters and is carried out between 124 and 134 millimeters, the second fold is 33 millimeters and is carried out between 134 and 148 millimeters, the third fold is 47 millimeters and is carried out between 148 and 162 millimeters, the fourth fold is 61 millimeters and is made between 162 and 176 millimeters, the fifth fold is 75 millimeters and is made between 176 and 190 millimeters, the sixth fold is 92 millimeters and is made between 190 and 191 millimeters.

[0012] A reinforcement made of oriented particle board can be added along the entire length of the box or pallet (9).

[0013] The device according to the invention is particularly intended for the container transport sector.

Claims

[Claim 1] Claims Device for feet of transport boxes or pallets characterized in that it comprises one or more sheets of paper with three inverted or non-inverted grooves glued on one or more cardboard sheets and wound in a spiral, bound together with a nail, an additional reinforcement in oriented particle board being added below the feet of the pallet over its entire length ❖Fig.2^.
