Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Contact management device for a motor vehicle with opposing doors
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of motor vehicles with opposing openings, and more particularly to mechanisms for managing contacts when opening the openings of such motor vehicles.
[0002] Opposite openings, or opposing doors, correspond to side openings of a motor vehicle which open opposite each other. For example, the front opening opens by pivoting around an axis arranged at the front of this front opening, while the rear opening opens by pivoting around an axis arranged at the rear of this rear opening, the qualifications "front" and "rear" of the openings being assessed in relation to a front and a rear of the motor vehicle.
[0003] The front opening and the rear opening may rest, when closed, on a center pillar of the motor vehicle. However, certain motor vehicles do not have such a center pillar, so as to allow wide access to a passenger compartment of the motor vehicle and in particular to facilitate the installation of passengers within this passenger compartment.
[0004] For these vehicles, the front opening is usually closed at least partially on the rear opening. It is thus necessary that, when closing the openings, the rear opening is closed before the front opening, and conversely that when opening them the front opening is opened before the rear opening.
[0005] The opening of the openings may in particular result from an action of a passenger seated at the rear of the motor vehicle. To exit this vehicle, the rear passenger must then push the rear opening opposite which he is installed, this in turn pushing the front opening to allow the rear passenger to exit.
[0006] The thrust of the rear opening against the front opening, however, causes contact between the two openings, such as friction, which poses a risk of damage to the sheet metal, seals and / or elements participating in the opening mechanisms of the two openings.
[0007] The present invention aims to overcome this drawback by proposing a motor vehicle in which, when the openings are opened, potential damage resulting from contact between these openings is limited thanks to a system making it possible to control the friction between the openings.
[0008] The present invention thus has as its main object a motor vehicle comprising a body and at least two opposing side openings mounted on the body, including a front opening and a rear opening, these openings being configured to take a first position in which they are closed and a second position in which they are open, the motor vehicle comprising a device for managing contact between the openings comprising at least one elastically deformable portion secured to one of the openings, the elastically deformable portion being configured to move the openings away from each other.
[0009] The motor vehicle according to the invention comprises two opposing openings, which are pivotally mounted on a body of the vehicle. The motor vehicle comprises, for example, two opposing openings on its right lateral side and two opposing openings on its left lateral side. Such opposing openings have pivot points respectively arranged on the body at ends opposite a central portion of the motor vehicle at which the openings meet.
[0010] The front opening leaf and the rear opening leaf are configured to take either a first position or closed position, or a second position or open position, a transition from one to the other of the positions being effected by a pivoting of the opening leaf. It is considered that the opening leaves are in their first position when they are locked on the body of the motor vehicle, and that they are in their second position as soon as they are no longer in contact with each other. There are thus a plurality of positions of the opening leaf between the first position and the second position, each of these positions corresponding to a different angle of inclination of the opening leaf relative to a main extension direction of the motor vehicle.
[0011] The motor vehicle does not have a center pillar between the two openings; in other words, the motor vehicle does not include a central and / or vertical side member on which the openings would rest in their closed position.
[0012] During the passage of the openings from their closed position to their open position, the openings are released relative to each other as soon as the lock of the openings is unlocked. The openings are then always in contact with each other, a passenger user of the vehicle having to apply an additional push on the openings to extract himself from the passenger compartment. During this push, the openings rub against each other, for example, when a rear passenger of the motor vehicle wishes to exit it, he unlocks the openings which leave their first position, then he applies a push on the rear opening which in turn applies a push on the front opening so that the openings move into their second position.
[0013] The motor vehicle comprises a device for managing contact between the openings, which is intended to govern the friction between these two openings and more particularly to limit the risks of damage to the openings when they are opened. The contact management device has for this purpose a portion elastically deformable, which, when deformed, is configured to move the openings away from each other. Such a moving away of the openings results from rotations around their pivot points. The moving away of the openings is understood to mean either the moving away of the front opening from the rear opening or the moving away of the rear opening from the front opening.
[0014] Depending on the embodiments, the elastically deformable portion of the contact management device is positioned in different zones of the motor vehicle; this elastically deformable portion is thus either on the front opening or on the rear opening.
[0015] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the elastically deformable portion has a first rest configuration and a second retracted configuration, the elastically deformable portion passing at least from its first configuration to its second configuration when the openings pass from their first position to their second position.
[0016] The elastically deformable portion is in its first rest configuration or in its second retracted configuration depending on a pressure exerted by one of the openings on the other opening which carries the elastically deformable portion. During the opening of the openings, these rub against each other which generates a pressure on the elastically deformable portion. The elastically deformable portion passes at least from its first configuration to its second configuration during the opening of the openings. More particularly, the elastically deformable portion is in its first configuration in the closed position of the openings, in its second configuration when the openings rub against each other, then it returns to its first configuration when the openings are at a distance from each other, that is to say in their second position.
[0017] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the opening to which the elastically deformable portion is secured comprises a front rebate and a rear rebate, the elastically deformable portion being secured to one of the rebates.
[0018] The arrangement of the front and rear rebates of the front opening is assessed in relation to a front and a rear of the motor vehicle. These rebates correspond to edges of the openings.
[0019] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the elastically deformable portion is integral with the front rebate of the rear opening.
[0020] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the elastically deformable portion is integral with the rear rebate of the front opening.
[0021] There are two distinct embodiments of the invention, with a first embodiment in which the elastically deformable portion is integral with the rear opening and a second embodiment in which it is integral with the opening front. In each of these two embodiments, the elastically deformable portion is arranged on the rebate of the opening which is in contact with the other opening when they are in their closed position; this is the front rebate for the rear opening and the rear rebate for the front opening.
[0022] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the contact management device comprises a friction portion intended to cooperate, when the openings move from their first position to their second position, with the elastically deformable portion.
[0023] Such a friction portion is for example a friction heel. It is made of a material capable of accepting friction throughout the lifetime of the vehicle. By "cooperate" is meant here that at least part of the elastically deformable portion slides along the friction portion.
[0024] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the front opening comprises a front rebate and a rear rebate opposite the front rebate of the rear opening, the friction portion being integral with the rear rebate of the front opening.
[0025] This is the first embodiment: the elastically deformable portion is integral with the rear opening and the friction portion is integral with the front opening, these portions being respectively arranged on the front rebate of the rear opening and on the rear rebate of the front opening, said rebates being opposite one another and in contact with one another in the first closed position of the openings.
[0026] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the rear opening comprises a rear rebate and a front rebate opposite the rear rebate of the front opening, the friction portion being integral with the front rebate of the rear opening.
[0027] This is the second embodiment: the elastically deformable portion is integral with the front opening and the friction portion is integral with the rear opening, these portions being respectively arranged on the rear rebate of the front opening and on the front rebate of the rear opening, said rebates being opposite one another and in contact with one another in the first closed position of the openings.
[0028] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the elastically deformable portion comprises an ejection finger.
[0029] This ejection finger corresponds to a part of the elastically deformable portion capable of retracting so that this elastically deformable portion passes from the first configuration to the second configuration.
[0030] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the elastically deformable portion comprises a spring.
[0031] The elastically deformable portion is then in its first rest configuration when the spring is relaxed and it is in its second configuration retracted when the spring is compressed. When the elastically deformable portion includes an ejection finger, this ejection finger is equipped with the spring.
[0032] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the ejection finger is motorized.
[0033] The transition of the elastically deformable portion from its first to its second configuration and vice versa is then ensured by a motor.
[0034] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the elastically deformable portion comprises a rotating roller arranged at one end of the ejection finger.
[0035] The rotating roller is pivotally mounted along an axis substantially parallel to an axis perpendicular to the ground on which the vehicle rests. This rotating roller is more particularly arranged at the end of the ejection finger which is opposite the opening which does not carry the elastically deformable portion.
[0036] Other characteristics, details and advantages of the invention will emerge more clearly on reading the description which follows on the one hand, and examples of embodiment given for informational and non-limiting purposes with reference to the appended drawings on the other hand, in which:

[0039] [Fig.3] illustrates, schematically, a passage of the opposing openings of [Fig.l] from a closed position to an open position, the openings being shown in section according to a top view and the contact management device being according to a first embodiment, the front opening being shown from an interior of the motor vehicle and the rear opening being shown from an exterior of the vehicle;
[0040] [Fig.4] illustrates, schematically, a second embodiment of the device of contact management of [Fig.2].
[0041] The features, variants and the different embodiments of the invention may be combined with each other, in various combinations, provided that they are not incompatible or mutually exclusive. In particular, variants of the invention may be imagined comprising only a selection of features described below in isolation from the other features described, if this selection of features is sufficient to confer a technical advantage and / or to differentiate the invention from the prior art.
[0042] In the figures, the elements common to several figures retain the same reference.
[0043] In the detailed description which follows, the terms “longitudinal”, “vertical” and “transverse” refer to the orientation of the motor vehicle according to the invention. A longitudinal direction corresponds to a main direction of extension of the motor vehicle, this longitudinal direction being parallel to a longitudinal axis L of a reference frame L, V, T illustrated in the figures. A vertical direction corresponds to a direction substantially perpendicular to a ground on which the motor vehicle rests, this vertical direction being parallel to a vertical axis V of the reference frame L, V, T and this vertical axis V being perpendicular to the longitudinal axis L. Finally, a transverse direction corresponds to a direction parallel to a transverse axis T of the reference frame L, V, T, this transverse axis T being perpendicular to the longitudinal axis L and to the vertical axis V.
[0044] [Fig.l] thus illustrates, schematically, a motor vehicle 1 according to the invention, this motor vehicle 1 being represented from the outside in a profile view. The motor vehicle 1 extends in a main extension direction which corresponds to a longitudinal direction L. The motor vehicle 1 is delimited, along this longitudinal direction, by a first longitudinal end 2 and a second longitudinal end 4. The first longitudinal end 2 corresponds to a front of the motor vehicle 1, in particular opposite a driving position of this motor vehicle 1, while the second longitudinal end 4 corresponds to its rear, opposite a trunk of the motor vehicle 1 for example.
[0045] The motor vehicle 1 comprises a body 6 which is a structural element on which rest openings 8, 10 of the motor vehicle 1. The motor vehicle 1 comprises, as these openings 8, 10, at least one front opening 8 and one rear opening 10. It is understood that the front opening 8 is closer to the first longitudinal end 4 than the rear opening 10, and conversely that this rear opening 10 is closer to the second longitudinal end 6 than the front opening 8. The motor vehicle 1 comprises more precisely two front openings 8 and two rear openings 10, arranged two by two on each lateral side of the motor vehicle 1. In what follows, the elements described in relation to a pair of openings 8, 10, i.e. a front opening 8 and a rear opening 10 arranged on a given lateral side, are applicable to the openings 8 and 10 arranged on the other side of the motor vehicle 1.
[0046] The openings 8, 10 are more specifically antagonistic openings, that is to say openings which open opposite one another and join in a central portion of the motor vehicle 1, such a central portion being appreciated relative to the longitudinal direction L. The openings 8, 10 are pivotally mounted on the body 6; thus, the front opening 8 has a pivot axis towards the first longitudinal end 2 of the motor vehicle 1, while the rear opening 10 has a pivot axis towards its second longitudinal end 4. Each of the openings 8, 10 pivots relative to the body 6 by means of hinges 12, which are illustrated in schematic form in [Fig.l].
[0047] Due to this pivoting of the openings 8, 10 relative to the body 6, the front opening and the rear opening 10 each have a first position in which they are closed and a second position in which they are open. The first position is thus a closed position and the second position an open position. It is considered here that the openings 8, 10 have a closed position when they are locked on the body 6, and that they are in their open position as soon as they are no longer in contact with each other. In the first position or closed position, the openings 8, 10 are locked relative to each other and / or relative to the body 6 of the motor vehicle 1. Between the first closed position and the second open position, the openings 8, 10 are in an intermediate position in which they are no longer locked relative to each other but are still in contact with each other.
[0048] Each of the openings 8, 10 comprises a front rebate 14 and a rear rebate 16, which correspond to edges of the opening 8. More particularly, the front opening 8 comprises a front rebate 14A facing the first longitudinal end 2 and a rear rebate 16A facing the second longitudinal end 4, and similarly the rear opening 10 has a front rebate 14B facing the first longitudinal end 2 and a rear rebate 16B facing the second longitudinal end 4.
[0049] The motor vehicle 1 does not have a center pillar between the openings 8, 10, so that in the first position of the openings 8, 10, the rear rebate 16A of the front opening 8 is thus opposite the front rebate 14B of the rear opening 10 and in contact with the latter. In addition, the front rebate 14A of the front opening 8 and the rear rebate 16B of the rear opening 10 carry the hinges 12 which allow the pivoting of each of these openings 8, 10.
[0050] The passage of the front opening 8 and the rear opening 10 from their first position to their second position requires the implementation of a device for locking and unlocking the openings 8, 10 which can be actuated by a passenger of the motor vehicle 1. In order to extract himself from the motor vehicle 1, the passenger of the motor vehicle 1 must first actuate this locking and unlocking device, for example by actuating an interior handle of the motor vehicle 1, to release locks on the openings 8, 10 which keep them engaged with each other. The passenger must then release the openings 8, 10.
[0051] According to the invention, the motor vehicle 1 is equipped with a device for managing a contact 18 between the openings 8, 10 when these openings 8, 10 pass from their first position to their second position. Such a contact management device 18 will now be described in relation to Figures 2 to 4.
[0052] The contact management device 18 is intended to manage the friction between the front opening 8 and the rear opening 10. The contact management device 18 comprises for this purpose two portions each arranged on one of the openings 8, 10, with more precisely an elastically deformable portion 20 secured to one of the openings 8, 10 and a friction portion 22 secured to the other opening 8, 10. In the embodiment shown in Figures 2 and 3, which is a first embodiment, the elastically deformable portion 20 is secured to the rear opening 10 and the friction portion 22 is secured to the front opening 8, but in other embodiments not shown here, in particular a second embodiment, conversely the elastically deformable portion 20 is secured to the front opening 8 and the friction portion 22 is secured to the rear opening 10.The characteristics described in relation to one or other of these embodiments are intended to apply, mutatis mutandis and in the absence of any contrary mention, to the other embodiments.
[0053] The elastically deformable portion 20 and the friction portion 22 are arranged on the rebates of the openings 8, 10. For the first embodiment of FIGS. 2 and 3, the elastically deformable portion 20 is more particularly integral with the front rebate 14B of the rear opening 10 while the friction portion 22 is integral with the rear rebate 16A of the front opening 8. On the contrary, in the second embodiment the elastically deformable portion 20 is integral with the rear rebate 16A of the front opening 8 while the friction portion 22 is integral with the front rebate 14B of the rear opening 10.
[0054] The elastically deformable portion 20 and the friction portion 22 are in contact with each other in the first position or closed position of the openings 8, 10. In addition, these portions 20, 22 cooperate with each other when the openings 8, 10 move from their first position to their second position or open position, that is to say when the openings 8, 10 are in their intermediate position. Such cooperation makes it possible to limit the risks of deterioration of the openings 8, 10 in contact with each other, in particular during friction of the rear rebate 16A of the front opening 8 against the front rebate 14B of the rear opening 10.
[0055] The friction portion 22 of the contact management device 18 is for example a friction heel. It is made of a material capable of resisting friction and / or impacts throughout the lifetime of the motor vehicle 1. The friction portion comprises for example an acoustically insulating material making it possible to limit noise resulting from contact between the front opening 8 and the rear opening 10.
[0056] As can be seen in [Fig.2], the friction portion 22 is arranged in a central portion of the front opening 8. Such a central portion is understood relative to a vertical direction substantially perpendicular to the ground on which the motor vehicle 1 rests. It is thus understood that the friction portion 22 is arranged on the rear rebate 16A of the front opening 8 at a distance from its upper and lower ends, such ends delimiting the front opening 8 in the vertical direction. The friction portion 22 is for example arranged substantially equidistant from the upper end and the lower end of the front opening 8.
[0057] The elastically deformable portion 20 of the contact management device 18 being configured to cooperate with its friction portion 22, it is arranged on the rear opening 10 opposite this friction portion 22. Thus, the elastically deformable portion 20 is arranged in a central portion of the rear opening 10, at a distance from both the upper end and the lower end of the front opening 8, where appropriate substantially equidistant from this upper end and this lower end. In the first closed position of the openings 8, 10, the elastically deformable portion is at least partially in contact with the friction portion 22.
[0058] The elastically deformable portion 20 is intended to move the openings 8, 10 away from each other, when they move from their first position to their second position. In other words, the elastically deformable portion 20 facilitates the opening of the openings 8, 10. For this purpose, the elastically deformable portion 20 deforms in order to move the front opening 8 away from the rear opening 10, or conversely the rear opening 10 away from the front opening 8. The elastically deformable portion 20 makes it possible to move the rear rebate 16A away from the front opening 8 and / or the front rebate 14B away from the rear opening 10 of the body 10, by pivoting the openings 8, 10 around their pivot points thanks to their hinges 12 arranged respectively at the level of the front rebate 14A for the front opening 8 and the rear rebate 16B for the rear opening 10.
[0059] A deformation of the elastically deformable portion 20 corresponds to its passage from a first rest configuration to a second retracted configuration, and conversely to its passage from the second retracted configuration to the first rest configuration. A passage of the elastically deformable portion 20 from its first rest configuration to its second retracted configuration is illustrated in [Fig. 3], the openings 8, 10 being in their closed position in the first rest configuration and in their intermediate state in the second retracted configuration. Generally, in the first position of the openings 8, 10 the elastically deformable portion 20 is in the first rest configuration, in their intermediate position it is in its second retracted configuration, and in the second position of the openings 8, 10 it is again in its first rest configuration. An alternation between these different configurations of the elastically deformable portion 20 will be detailed later.
[0060] A shape of the elastically deformable portion 20 differs according to embodiment variants. The elastically deformable portion 20 is shown within the front rebate 14B of the rear opening 10 according to a first embodiment variant in FIGS. 2 and 3, and it is illustrated according to a second embodiment variant in [Fig.4],
[0061] In the first embodiment, the elastically deformable portion 20 comprises an ejection finger 24. This ejection finger 24 has a first end 26 oriented towards the front rebate 14B of the rear opening 10 and a second end 28 oriented towards its rear rebate 16B. In other words, the first end 26 of the ejection finger 24 is closer to the first longitudinal end 2 of the motor vehicle 1, while its second end 28 is closer to the second longitudinal end 6 thereof.
[0062] The ejection finger 24 corresponds to a part of the elastically deformable portion 20 which is movable. The ejection finger 24 is for example a spring or a motorized rod. When the ejection finger 24 is a spring, the elastically deformable portion 20 is in its first rest configuration when the spring is relaxed, and conversely it is in its second retracted configuration when the spring is compressed. When the ejection finger 24 is a motorized rod, the elastically deformable portion 20 is in its first rest configuration when a motor has pushed the first end 26 of the rod towards the first longitudinal end 2 of the motor vehicle 1, and conversely the elastically deformable portion 20 is in its second retracted configuration when the motor has brought the first end 26 of the rod back towards the second longitudinal end 4 of the motor vehicle 1.In both cases, in the second retracted configuration of the elastically deformable portion 20 the ejection finger 24 is at least partially retracted within a thickness of the rear opening 10, or even completely retracted within this thickness, such a thickness corresponding to a volume between an inner sheet 30 and an outer sheet 32 of the rear opening 10.
[0063] In the alternative embodiment of Figures 2 and 3, the first end 26 of the ejection finger 24 carries a rotating roller 34. This rotating roller 34 has an axis of rotation substantially parallel to the vertical direction, that is to say substantially perpendicular to the ground on which the motor vehicle 1 rests. The rotating roller 34 is configured to roll against the friction portion 22 in the position intermediate of the openings 8, 10, namely during the passage of these openings 8, 10 from their first closed position to their second open position. It is understood here that the rotating roller 34 corresponds to the part of the elastically deformable portion 20 which cooperates with this friction portion 22.
[0064] In the embodiment variant of [Fig. 4], the elastically deformable portion 20 corresponds to a spring blade 36. The elastically deformable portion 20 is in its first rest configuration when the spring blade 36 has a curved shape, as visible in [Fig. 4], and it is in its second retracted configuration when the spring blade is flattened.
[0065] A method of opening the openings 8, 10 using the contact management device 18 for the purpose of a passenger exiting the motor vehicle 1 will now be described. At the start of the opening method, the front opening 8 and the rear opening 10 are both in their first position or closed position. The elastically deformable portion 20 of the contact management device 18 is then in its first rest configuration and is in contact with the friction portion 22.
[0066] In order to extract himself from the motor vehicle 1, the passenger unlocks the locks of the openings 8, 10 by actuating the locking and unlocking device of the openings 8, 10 mentioned previously, for example the interior handle of the motor vehicle 1. The openings 8, 10 then pass from their first closed position to their intermediate position in which they are no longer engaged with each other but are still in contact with each other.
[0067] In order to reach the second open position of the openings 8, 10, the passenger pushes on the opening 8, 10 next to which he is seated. For a rear passenger, the push is made on the rear opening 10. The rear opening 10 then pushes out the front opening 8, the elastically deformable portion 20 rubbing against the friction portion 22. During such friction, which corresponds for the openings 8, 10 to their intermediate position, the elastically deformable portion 20 is, as is particularly visible in [Fig. 3], in its second retracted configuration.
[0068] In the first variant embodiment of Figures 2 and 3, in the intermediate position of the openings 8, 10 the rotating roller 34 rolls along the rear rebate 16A of the front opening 8, sliding from its inner sheet 30 to its outer sheet 32. The ejection finger 24 carrying the rotating roller 34 retracts within the thickness of the rear opening 10 as the rotating roller 34 approaches the outer sheet 32. In the second variant embodiment of [Fig.4], the spring blade 36 flattens as it approaches.
[0069] When the thrust of the rear opening 10 on the front opening 8 is sufficient, the openings 8, 10 separate from each other and then take their second open position. In the absence of stress or pressure exerted against the friction portion 22, the elastically deformable portion 20 returns to its first rest configuration. The passenger can then extract himself from the motor vehicle 1.
[0070] The present invention thus proposes a motor vehicle in which a contact management device is capable of managing the friction between two opposing openings of the vehicle, so as to limit or even eliminate risks of deterioration of the openings linked to their relative friction.
[0071] The present invention cannot, however, be limited to the means and configurations described and illustrated here and it also extends to any equivalent means and configuration as well as to any technically operative combination of such means.
