AI Technical Summary
Existing joinery structures, such as doors, experience deformation due to thermal differentials between the interior and exterior, leading to flexural deformation and difficulties in opening/closing, often requiring temporary shading to mitigate temperature effects.
A joinery opening structure with metallic facings and plastic structural profiles that allow longitudinal translation, incorporating assembly parts with interlocking shapes and spring means to accommodate thermal expansion differences, ensuring the facings remain rectilinear.
The structure prevents deformation by allowing differential thermal expansion without applying forces on the interior facing, enabling smooth operation and eliminating the need for temporary shading.

Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Opening for joinery, for example a door, intended to equip a building bay Technical field of the invention
[0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of openings for joinery, for example a door, intended to equip a building bay. State of the art
[0002] Most joinery includes a fixed frame and at least one opening.
[0003] Some openings include:
[0004] - two facings, front and made of metallic material, and
[0005] - side members, inserted between these facings.
[0006] Such a structure provides aesthetic benefits, high thermal performance and the possibility of visual customization.
[0007] However, this structure is also likely to lead to a degraded situation in the event of a significant thermal difference between the interior and exterior of the building.
[0008] Indeed, in the presence of significant solar input, the exterior facing tends to stretch due to its rise in temperature.
[0009] However, at the same time, the interior facing does not undergo an identical elongation due to its significantly lower temperature, in particular due to the effectiveness of the thermal break and the reduced interior temperature (for example in the presence of interior air conditioning).
[0010] The elongation differential between these two facings, also known as the “bimetallic strip effect”, is then likely to generate a flexural deformation of the opening (convexity oriented towards the outside), and as a corollary, difficulties in closing / opening the opening.
[0011] To be able to close the opening, it is sometimes even necessary to mask the external face of the opening (for example by means of shutters). This occultation allows, after a certain time, a reduction in the temperature of the external facing; the latter can then return to its nominal dimension and lead to a return of the uprights to a rectilinear appearance.
[0012] There is thus a need for a new structure for an opening which would then no longer be subject to such phenomena of deformation in bending under the effect of interior / exterior temperature differentials. Presentation of the invention
[0013] In order to overcome the aforementioned drawback of the state of the art, the present invention proposes an opening for joinery, for example a door, intended to equip a building bay.
[0014] This opening includes:
[0015] - two facings, front and made of metallic material, and
[0016] - side members, inserted between said facings.
[0017] The side members comprise at least two structural profiles which each cooperate with one of said facings.
[0018] At least one of said at least two structural profiles is made of plastic material.
[0019] And the structural profiles comprise assembly parts which are assembled with a degree of freedom in longitudinal translation, allowing a degree of freedom in translation between said structural profiles.
[0020] Such a structure is interesting in that it makes it possible to avoid deformation of the opening by the bimetallic effect.
[0021] It also makes it possible to combine materials of different natures, in particular depending on the acceptable temperature thresholds.
[0022] Other non-limiting and advantageous characteristics of the product according to the invention, taken individually or in all technically possible combinations, are the following:
[0023] - the facings are made of steel or aluminum, preferably a interior cladding made of steel and exterior cladding made of aluminum;
[0024] - the assembly parts have U-shaped, complementary and opening shapes facing each other, each comprising two side walls which are provided with interlocking shapes, for example of the groove / rib type;
[0025] - the assembly parts comprise spring means which tend to separate said structural profiles;
[0026] - at least one of the structural profiles, preferably the structural profile interior, is made of recycled plastic material, which interior structural profile comprises a coated surface which is covered by a coating layer made of non-recycled plastic material; which coated surface preferably comprises an exterior front face, intended to be covered by the associated facing, and an exterior side face, intended to be visible when said opening is operated in the open position;
[0027] - the opening also comprises at least two blocks of insulating material which are interposed between said facings and which run along the side members, preferably interposed between said side members and a glazing;
[0028] - the ends of the side members are fixed together by means of screws; preferably, at least one of the structural profiles comprises a groove intended to receive a head of said screws;
[0029] - said opening defines a rebate receiving a border of a filling, by example a glazing; said rebate advantageously comprises a joint, added, adapted to the positioning of the filling in the plane of the facing, which joint comprises a body which is terminated by a lip interposed between an insulating block and the edge of the filling, to serve as formwork for a joint.
[0030] The present invention also relates to joinery equipped with an opening, for example a door, according to the invention.
[0031] Of course, the various features, variants and embodiments of the invention may be combined with each other in various combinations to the extent that they are not incompatible or mutually exclusive. Detailed description of the invention
[0032] Furthermore, various other characteristics of the invention emerge from the appended description given with reference to the drawings which illustrate non-limiting forms of embodiment of the invention and where:
[0033] [Fig-1] is a sectional and partial view of an opening according to the invention;
[0034] [Fig.2] is a partial and enlarged view of [Fig. 1], illustrating in more detail the section of a spar;
[0035] [Fig.3] is an isolated, exploded view of a side member equipping an opening according to the invention;
[0036] [Fig.4] is a partial and enlarged view of [Fig. 1], illustrating in more detail the section of a joint, added, adapted to the positioning of the filling in the plane of the facing;
[0037] [Fig.5] is a schematic view of the ends of the side members which are fixed together by means of screws.
[0038] It should be noted that, in these figures, the structural and / or functional elements common to the different variants may have the same references.
[0039] The present invention relates to an opening 1 for a joinery M, for example a door, intended to equip a bay of a building B.
[0040] The joinery M is thus intended to create a separation between an exterior volume E and an interior volume I.
[0041] Such joinery also includes a fixed frame C which carries the opening 1.
[0042] As shown schematically in [Fig.l], the opening 1 is equipped in particular with hinge means N (for example formed of hinges or pins), for its pivoting mounting on the fixed frame C around a vertical pivot axis.
[0043] Generally speaking, the opening 1 comprises:
[0044] - two facings 2, front and made of metallic material, and
[0045] - side members 3, inserted between these facings 2.
[0046] The facings 2, advantageously with the side members 3, together define an interior volume V.
[0047] This interior volume V advantageously comprises a filling 3, 4, namely for example:
[0048] - an insulating structure 4, reported in the interior volume V and extending advantageously between the facings 2, and / or
[0049] - a glazing 5, the edge of which is received at the level of a rebate F. Facings
[0050] The opening 1 thus comprises two facings 2:
[0051] - an exterior facing 2E, arranged on the side of the exterior volume E, and
[0052] - an interior facing 21, arranged on the side of the interior volume I.
[0053] The facings 2 advantageously each consist of a plate of material having a few millimeters or tens of millimeters of thickness (for example 2 to 20 mm of thickness).
[0054] The two facings 2 are made of at least one material chosen from metal, for example steel or aluminum, forming for example a metal sheet.
[0055] According to a preferred embodiment, the inner facing 21 is made of steel; and the outer facing 2E is made of aluminum.
[0056] As further described in relation to [Fig.2], each facing 2 advantageously comprises two opposite surfaces:
[0057] - an exterior surface 21, visible and oriented opposite the interior volume V, and
[0058] - an interior surface 22, oriented towards the side of the interior volume V and cooperating advantageously with the side members 3 and where appropriate with the filling 4, 5 (for example with the insulating structure 4). Side members
[0059] The side members 3 advantageously form a frame which comprises:
[0060] - a high crosspiece (not shown), intended to extend along the lintel of the bay B and the upper crosspiece of the fixed frame C,
[0061] - a low crosspiece (not shown), opposite, intended to extend along the ground and of the lower crosspiece of the sleeping frame C, and
[0062] - two lateral uprights (only one of its uprights is illustrated in figures 1 or 2).
[0063] Each spar 3 comprises at least two structural profiles 6, 7.
[0064] At least one of said at least two structural profiles 6, 7 is made of plastic material.
[0065] Preferably, the structural profiles 6, 7 comprise:
[0066] - structural profiles 6, 7 made of plastic material, or
[0067] - at least one of the structural profiles 6, 7 is made of plastic material and at least the other of the structural profiles 6, 7 is made of metallic material (for example aluminum), for example the internal structural profile.
[0068] These structural profiles 6, 7, superimposed frontally, each cooperate with one of the facings 2:
[0069] - a first structural profile 6, also called “external structural profile”, cooperates with the 2E exterior cladding, and
[0070] - a second structural profile 7, also called “internal structural profile”, cooperates with the interior facing 21.
[0071] And, according to the invention, the structural profiles 6, 7 comprise assembly parts 8 which are assembled with a degree of freedom in longitudinal translation, allowing a degree of freedom in translation between these structural profiles 6, 7 (along a translation axis parallel to the length of the spar 3).
[0072] In other words, the outer structural profile 6 has a sliding clearance along the length of the inner structural profile 7.
[0073] For this, preferably, each structural profile 6, 7 comprises an assembly part 61, 71 which has a U-shape, complementary and opening opposite one another.
[0074] More precisely, each structural profile 6, 7 comprises:
[0075] - an assembly part 61, 71, together forming the assembly parts 8, complementary, and
[0076] - a body 62, 72, having for example a generally rectangular section or a platinum-shaped section ([Fig.3]), suitable for receiving the respective facings 2.
[0077] The assembly parts 61, 71 thus slide directly on one another.
[0078] In practice, the assembly parts 61, 71 advantageously cooperate by elastic interlocking or by threading, with a degree of freedom in longitudinal translation.
[0079] Preferably, as described in connection with [Fig.2], each assembly part 61, 71 comprises two side walls 611, 711 which are provided with interlocking shapes 612, 712, for example of the groove / rib type (preferably in the form of hooks).
[0080] In other words, preferably, each side wall 611 of the assembly part 61 of the external structural profile 6 cooperates with a side wall 711 of the assembly part 71 of the interior structural profile 7, to form two pairs of side walls 611,711.
[0081] And the facing faces of each pair of side walls 611, 711 comprise nestable shapes 612, 712, for example ribs intended to nest with each other.
[0082] These interlocking shapes 612, 712 are capable of preventing (or at least limiting) the extraction or separation in a frontal direction (perpendicular to the translation axis) of the structural profiles 6, 7.
[0083] The side walls 611, 711 advantageously form male and female structures. In this case, the side walls 611 of the assembly part 61 of the outer structural profile 6 (male structure) are arranged, with clearance, between the side walls 711 of the assembly part 71 of the inner structural profile 7 (female structure).
[0084] In each assembly part 61, 71, the two side walls 611, 711 are advantageously connected by a bottom wall 613, 713, forming a part of the body 62, 72.
[0085] The assembly parts 8 also advantageously comprise spring means 9, advantageously forming a compression spring, which tend to separate the structural profiles 6, 7.
[0086] Generally, as shown in [Fig. 3], one of the structural profiles 6, for example the external structural profile 6, may have a variable thickness to provide a range of thicknesses of opening 1 in combination with the same structural profile 7.
[0087] For example, the structural profile 6 may comprise a body 62 having:
[0088] - a generally rectangular section (on the left in [Fig.3]), or
[0089] - a section in the general shape of a platinum (on the right in [Fig.3]).
[0090] The spring means 9 are for example formed by at least two lips 614, which are carried here by the bottom wall 613 of the external structural profile 6.
[0091] These lips 614 project relative to the bottom wall 613, and have a capacity for elastic deformation. They come to bear on the bottom wall 713 of the other structural profile 7 and are deformed during the assembly of the structural profiles 6, 7.
[0092] These lips 614 are here convergent, from the bottom wall 613.
[0093] Furthermore, generally, at least one of the structural profiles 6, 7, preferably the interior structural profile 7, is made of recycled plastic material.
[0094] By “recycled plastic material” is advantageously meant a non-virgin material which has undergone at least one extrusion.
[0095] In this case, as illustrated in [Fig.3], the interior structural profile 7 advantageously comprises a coated surface 75 which is covered by a coating layer 76 made of non-recycled plastic material.
[0096] The coated surface 75 preferably comprises:
[0097] - an external front face 751, intended to be covered by the facing 2 partner, and
[0098] - an external lateral face 752, intended to be visible when the opening 1 is operated in the open position.
[0099] Such a coated surface 75 is particularly interesting for guaranteeing a surface that is always identical and of the same color (which is generally not the case with recycled mixtures).
[0100] Furthermore, as shown in [Fig.5], the ends of the side members 3 (chamfered) are preferably fixed together by means of screws 10.
[0101] For this, at least one of the structural profiles 6, 7, in this case the internal profile 7, includes:
[0102] - a groove 77, at the level of an external surface of the body 72, intended to receive a 101 screw head, and
[0103] - a conduit 78, within an interior surface of the body 72, intended to receive the screw body 102.
[0104] Such an assembly has the advantage of allowing the frame to be assembled without gluing or crimping. Filling
[0105] Preferably, the interior volume V comprises an insulating structure 4 which comprises at least two blocks of insulating material 41 which are interposed between the facings 2 and which run along the side members 3.
[0106] Preferably, the blocks of insulating material 41 are interposed between the side members 3 and a glazing 5.
[0107] Preferably, these blocks of insulating material 41 are distinct from one another and superimposed between the two facings 2.
[0108] This insulating structure 4 is thus of the multi-layer type, the blocks of insulating material 41 of which are distributed in the direction of the thickness separating the two facings 2.
[0109] In other words, the general plane of each block of insulating material 41 extends parallel to the general plane of the equipped opening 1 (parallel to the facings 2).
[0110] Furthermore, each block of insulating material 41 advantageously consists of a pre-cut plate of insulating material, for example made from a material chosen from extruded polystyrene or expanded polyurethane.
[0111] In other words, each block of insulating material 41 advantageously has a general parallelepiped shape whose contour corresponds, apart from the clearance, to the internal contour of the side members 3.
[0112] The thickness of the blocks of insulating material 41 advantageously corresponds, apart from the clearance, to the thickness separating the two facings 2.
[0113] Furthermore, the opening 1 advantageously defines a rebate F receiving an edge of a filling 5, for example a glazing 5.
[0114] As illustrated in more detail in [Fig.4], the rebate F may include a joint 13, added, adapted to the positioning of the filling 5 in the plane of the facing 2 (in this case the exterior facing 2E).
[0115] This seal 13 is for example made from a material chosen from EPDM, silicone, TPE, Santoprene.
[0116] In other words, this seal 13 allows the glazing 5 to be positioned so that the outer face of the facing 2 and the outer face of the glazing 6 extend in the same frontal plane.
[0117] For this, the seal 13 comprises a body 131 which is terminated by a lip 132 extending in projection relative to the body 131.
[0118] The lip 132 is interposed here between an insulating block 41 and the edge of the filling 5; this lip 132 further extends opposite and at a distance from an inner face 22 of the outer facing 2E.
[0119] This lip 132 thus serves as formwork for a mastic or a joint L, for example an EPDM (ethylene-propylene-diene monomer) joint.
[0120] This putty fills the volume delimited by:
[0121] - frontally, the lip 132 and the outer facing 2E and
[0122] - laterally, the insulating block 41 and the edge of the glazing 5.
[0123] This lip 132 makes it possible to calibrate the mastic injected between the edge of the filling 5 and the insulating block 4L.
[0124] The lip 132 also makes it possible to accept the manufacturing tolerances of the various components and thus always maintain permanent contact with the filling 5. Thus, when filling the cavity, the overflow of the sealant is limited. Assembly process
[0125] In practice, the assembly of the assembly parts 61, 71 is here carried out by an assembly of the interlocking type by elastic deformation allowing a degree of freedom in longitudinal translation.
[0126] The facings 2 are advantageously assembled with the structural profiles 6, 7 by gluing. Functioning
[0127] In the event of significant solar gain, the exterior facing 2E of the opening 1 tends to lengthen due to its rise in temperature.
[0128] For its part, the inner facing 21 generally has a significantly lower temperature compared to the outer facing 2E, with a lower elongation or even no elongation.
[0129] The sliding play, permitted by the assembly parts 8, then allows the outer facing 2E to extend freely, without constraint exerted by the associated inner facing 21.
[0130] There is then a differential in elongation between the outer facing 2E and the inner facing 21, called the “bimetallic strip effect”.
[0131] The exterior facing 2E can then be extended:
[0132] - without resistance of the inner facing 21, and
[0133] - without leading to a deformation of the interior facing 21 which remains rectilinear.
[0134] This characteristic also allows the side members 3 not to exert bending forces on the opening 1, nor on the accessories added to the side member(s) 3.
[0135] The facings 2 and the side members 3 remaining rectilinear, the docking of the opening 1 can be carried out effectively on the fixed frame C even in the event of elongation of the external facing 2E, without applying an additional force on this opening 1 and / or its operating means, nor creating a shadow zone on the exterior to reduce the temperature of this external facing 2E (which is generally impossible for an opening of the door type).
[0136] Of course, various other modifications may be made to the invention within the scope of the appended claims.
