Description

Title of the invention: Tablet device, in particular for a seating unit, and seating unit comprising such a device Technical field

[0001] The present invention relates in particular to the field of aeronautics. It relates more particularly to a tablet intended to be associated with a seat unit, in particular an aircraft seat unit, in particular by being integrated into a seat unit, for example a seat unit of the “business class” or “first class” type. State of the art

[0002] A seat unit comprises a seat associated with various furniture elements and a shell extending at least partly around the seat, so as to delimit a partially enclosed space around the seat, thereby providing desired privacy to a passenger occupying this seat.

[0003] Among the furniture elements integrated into a seat unit, there is in particular a tablet. Such a tablet is configured to be moved between - a deployed position, in which the tablet is positioned in front of the passenger and is capable of receiving various objects, and - a retracted position, in which the tablet frees up the space in front of the passenger.

[0004] For “economy class” seats, a tray table is commonly provided which moves from the retracted position to the deployed position by a rotational movement, possibly followed by a translational movement.

[0005] For a seating unit intended for the arrangement of an upper class, it may be preferable to completely retract the tablet, in particular by a translational movement, so that it is concealed, in the retracted position, in a piece of furniture of the seating unit.

[0006] In such a case, however, there may be the disadvantage that the piece of furniture to which the shelf is to be fixed does not allow an adequate height to be obtained for the shelf in the deployed position, such a height generally having to be approximately 71 cm relative to a floor of a cabin in which the seat unit is arranged.

[0007] The objective of the present invention is to propose a tablet device which makes it possible to overcome the drawbacks of the state of the art, and in particular those set out above. Statement of the invention

[0008] For this purpose, the invention is specific to a tablet device, in particular for a seat unit, in particular for an aircraft seat unit, comprising: - a base, capable of being fixed to a furniture element of a seat unit, - a tablet, movable between a retracted position and a deployed position, connected to the base by means of a connecting mechanism comprising a carriage movable relative to the base, in particular in translation, along a longitudinal axis, between a retracted position corresponding to the retracted position of the tablet and a deployed position corresponding to the deployed position of the tablet.

[0009] More specifically, the connecting mechanism is configured so that the shelf performs a circular translational movement relative to the carriage, when moving the shelf between the retracted position and the deployed position, such that the shelf is at a distance from the carriage, in the deployed position, different from the distance between the shelf and the carriage, in the retracted position.

[0010] Thus, by providing a tablet device comprising a connecting mechanism between the tablet and the base of the device, the connecting mechanism comprising a carriage movable relative to the base and allowing the passage from the retracted position to the deployed position to modify the distance between the tablet and the movable carriage, it is thus possible to vary the height of the tablet relative to the base, and therefore, in particular, relative to a floor of a cabin in which the tablet device is installed.

[0011] The tablet can thus be at a first height, when it is in the retracted position, and at a second height, in particular lower than the first height, when it is in the deployed position.

[0012] It is thus possible to optimize the height of the tablet when it is in use, while limiting its bulk when it is retracted.

[0013] The tablet device according to the invention may comprise one or more of the following optional features, considered alone or in combination, according to which: - the connecting mechanism comprises at least a first connecting rod and a second connecting rod secured to the carriage; - the first connecting rod and the second connecting rod are rotatable relative to the carriage, in particular around an axis parallel to a transverse axis of the tablet device, the transverse axis being in particular perpendicular to the longitudinal axis; - the connecting mechanism comprises at least one connecting bar forming, with the first connecting rod, the second connecting rod and the carriage, a deformable parallelogram mechanism; the connecting bar is attached to the shelf; the deformable parallelogram mechanism can be put into a retracted configuration, in which a distance between the connecting bar and the carriage is minimal; the deformable parallelogram mechanism can be placed in a deployed configuration, in which the distance between the connecting bar and the carriage is maximum; the tablet comprises a tablet support secured to the connecting bar of the connecting mechanism; the connecting mechanism comprises a guide lever secured to the first connecting rod and cooperating with a guide groove provided on a guide structure of the base; the guide groove is provided in a guide structure, in particular parallel to the longitudinal axis; the guide groove is configured such that when the carriage is in the retracted position, the guide lever is in a position in which the deformable parallelogram mechanism is in a retracted configuration, in which a distance between the connecting bar and the carriage is minimal; the guide groove is configured such that, when the carriage is in the deployed position, the guide lever is in a position in which the deformable parallelogram mechanism is in a deployed configuration, in which the distance between the connecting bar and the carriage is maximum; the difference between a maximum value and a minimum value of the distance between the connecting bar and the carriage is between 3 cm and 20 cm, in particular between 5 cm and 15 cm, in particular between 5 cm and 10 cm; the guide lever comprises a guide means at least partially inserted into the guide groove; the guide groove comprises at least one first sector inclined relative to the longitudinal axis, in particular at an angle of between 5° and 90°, in particular between 25° and 75°, more specifically between 30° and 60°; the guide groove comprises at least a second sector, parallel to the longitudinal axis; the base comprises at least a first rail cooperating with a first slide; the base comprises at least a second rail cooperating with a second slide; - the first slide and the second slide are integral with the carriage; - the tablet has a first fixed tablet part, integral with the support tablet; and / or - the tablet has a second folding tablet part, attached to the first tablet part.

[0014] The tablet device according to the invention may comprise a front cover, capable of concealing the connecting mechanism when the tablet is in the deployed position, comprising at least one movable part capable of being moved between: - a deployed position, when the tablet is in the deployed position, and - a retracted position, when the tablet is in the retracted position.

[0015] Furthermore, the invention is specific to an aircraft seat unit, comprising a seat and a tablet device according to one of the characteristics detailed above.

[0016] In such a configuration, the base is attached to a furniture element of the seating unit.

[0017] Of course, the various characteristics, variants and / or embodiments of the invention can be associated with each other in various combinations to the extent that they are not incompatible or mutually exclusive. Brief description of the drawings

[0030] [Fig.l] is a schematic sectional view of a seat unit 1, in particular intended to be arranged in an aircraft, comprising a tablet device 2 according to the invention.

[0031] According to the example shown in [Fig.l], the seat unit 1 is arranged on a floor P of a cabin of an aircraft.

[0032] More particularly, the seat unit 1 comprises a seat 3 for accommodating a passenger.

[0033] In particular, the seat 3 is capable of being placed in different configurations, in particular in at least one “seated” configuration and one “reclined” configuration, in which the seat 3 forms a sleeping surface, in particular substantially parallel to the floor P of the cabin, allowing the passenger to lie down.

[0034] The seat unit 1 may comprise, facing the seat 3, a footrest 4, also called an ottoman 4. The footrest 4 allows the passenger, in the “seated” configuration, to extend his legs by resting his feet on the footrest 4. Furthermore, when the seat 3 is in the “reclined” configuration, the footrest 4 is in the continuity of the sleeping surface formed by the seat 3.

[0035] The footrest 4 thus delimits a lower end of a space 5, also called a foot cavity 5, allowing the feet of a passenger to be accommodated.

[0036] An upper end of the foot cavity 5 is formed by a structural element 6 of the seat unit 1, located in the example under a screen support 7.

[0037] The structural element 6 forms, in the example, a support for the tablet device 2.

[0038] Figures 2 and 3 show the tablet device 2 according to the invention, illustrated in perspective, respectively in a retracted position and in a deployed position.

[0039] More specifically, the tablet device 2 comprises a base 20 and a tablet 22. In particular, the tablet 22 is connected to the base 20 by a connecting mechanism 24.

[0040] According to the invention, the tablet device 2 is such that the tablet 2 is able to be moved between: - a retracted position, in which the tablet 22 frees the space located in front of the passenger, as shown in [Fig.2]; and - a deployed position, in which the tablet 22 is positioned in front of the passenger and is capable of receiving various objects, as shown in [Fig.3].

[0041] The connecting mechanism 24 comprises a carriage 240, capable of being movable in particular in translation relative to the base 20 along a longitudinal axis X. The longitudinal axis X is, in the example of [Fig.l], parallel to the floor P of the cabin of the aircraft, or very slightly inclined relative to the floor P of the cabin of the aircraft, that is to say inclined by less than 5°.

[0042] The base 20 comprises a fixing support 200, intended to be fixed to the seat unit 1, in particular to the structural element 6 delimiting the upper end of the foot cavity 5. The fixing support 200, when it is integral with the seat unit 1, is elongated along the longitudinal axis X.

[0043] The fixing support 200 comprises a base 202 and at least one guide rail 204, cooperating with at least one slide 208, to ensure movement, in particular in translation, of the carriage 240.

[0044] In the example, the fixing support 200 comprises at least: - a first guide rail 204 cooperating with a first slide 208, and - a second guide rail 206 cooperating with a second slide 210. The carriage 240 is secured to the first slide 208 and the second slide 210.

[0045] In addition, the connecting mechanism 24 may comprise a guidance system, capable of ensuring guidance of the tablet 2 between the retracted position and the deployed position.

[0046] More specifically, according to an exemplary embodiment, the guidance system comprises at least a first connecting rod 242 and a second connecting rod 244.

[0047] The first connecting rod 242, respectively the second connecting rod 244, is articulated, at a first end, on the carriage 240 at a first axis of rotation 242a, respectively a second axis of rotation 244a.

[0048] The first axis of rotation 242a, respectively the second axis of rotation 244a, is in particular parallel to a transverse axis Y of the tablet device 2. The transverse axis Y is in particular perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X. In addition, the transverse axis Y may in particular be parallel to the floor P of the cabin.

[0049] The first connecting rod 242 and the second connecting rod 244 are connected to each other, respectively at a second end opposite the corresponding first end, by a connecting bar 246.

[0050] The connecting bar 246 is articulated on the first connecting rod 242 and on the second connecting rod 244, respectively at a third axis of rotation 242b and a fourth axis of rotation 244b.

[0051] The third axis of rotation 242b, respectively the fourth axis of rotation 244b, is in particular parallel to the transverse axis Y of the tablet device 2

[0052] The carriage 240, the first link 242, the second link 244 and the connecting bar 246 thus form a deformable parallelogram mechanism, allowing a coordinated rotation of the first links 242 and the second link 244 to generate a circular translational movement of the connecting bar 246 relative to the carriage 240. Thus, the connecting bar 246 maintains a constant orientation during this movement.

[0053] Furthermore, the connecting bar 246 is integral with the shelf 22, thus making it possible to ensure a circular translational movement of the shelf 22 relative to the carriage 240, during the movement of the shelf 22 between the retracted position and the deployed position, and vice versa.

[0054] In the example presented, the tablet 22 comprises a tablet support 220. The tablet support 220 is secured to the connecting bar 246 of the connecting mechanism 24.

[0055] Furthermore, according to a particular embodiment, the tablet support 220 and the connecting bar 246 form a single piece, that is to say that the tablet support 220 and the connecting bar 246 are made in one piece. Alternatively, the tablet support 220 and the connecting bar 246 may be two separate elements secured to each other.

[0056] In addition, the tablet 22 may comprise at least a first tablet portion 222, intended to define a surface on which a passenger can place various objects.

[0057] The first tablet portion 222 may be fixed relative to the tablet support 222.

[0058] In particular, the tablet 22 may comprise at least a first tablet part 222 and a second tablet part 224. In such a configuration, the second tablet part 224 may be movable relative to the tablet support 220, in particular movable relative to the first tablet part 222 of the tablet 22.

[0059] For example, the second shelf portion 224 may be pivotally mounted relative to the first shelf portion 222 of the shelf 22, so as to be able to be folded onto the first shelf portion 222 of the shelf 22, in a folded position visible in [Fig. 2], and to be able to be unfolded, in an unfolded position visible in [Fig. 3], in order to constitute a surface continuity with the first shelf portion 222 of the shelf 22.

[0060] According to one embodiment of the invention, the connecting mechanism 24, in particular the guidance system comprises a guidance lever 248. In particular, the guidance lever 248 is integral with the first connecting rod 242. For this purpose, a first end 248a of the guidance lever 248 is connected to the first connecting rod 242.

[0061] Furthermore, according to a particular embodiment, the guide lever 248 and the first connecting rod 242 form a single piece, that is to say that the guide lever 248 and the first connecting rod 242 are made in one piece. Alternatively, the guide lever 248 and the first connecting rod 242 may be two separate elements secured to each other.

[0062] A second end 248b of the guide lever 248 comprises a guide means 250, capable of guiding a movement of the guide lever 248 when the tablet 22 passes from the retracted position to the deployed position, and vice versa.

[0063] More specifically, the guide means 250 of the guide lever 248 is in the form of a stud arranged at the second end 248b of the guide lever 248.

[0064] According to the exemplary embodiment presented, the guide means 250 cooperates with a guide groove 214 formed in a guide structure 212 of the base 20, in particular parallel to the longitudinal axis X, so as to form a “cam track / follower element” system.

[0065] For this purpose, the guide means 250 can be at least partially inserted into the guide groove 214.

[0066] The guide structure 212 may comprise a guide surface 212a, in particular arranged perpendicular to the transverse axis Y. In such a configuration, the guide groove 214 is provided on the guide surface 212a.

[0067] The guide means 250 of the guide lever 248 forms a follower element, such as the stud 250 visible in [Fig. 3], inserted in the guide groove 214, which forms a cam path or track.

[0068] The guide groove 214 is specifically shaped according to the desired movement of the shelf 22 from the retracted position to the deployed position, and vice versa.

[0069] In the example presented, the guide groove 214 may comprise, in the direction of deployment of the tablet 22, a first sector 214a and a second sector 214b. The first sector 214a may be inclined relative to the longitudinal axis X, in particular by an angle of between 5° and 90°, in particular of between 25° and 75°, more specifically of between 30° and 60°. In addition, the second sector 214b may be parallel to the longitudinal axis X.

[0070] Thus, the guide groove 214 makes it possible to impose a determined movement on the guide means 250 of the guide lever 248, and therefore on the corresponding end 248b of the guide lever 248 during the movement of the carriage 240. In particular, the first sector 214a makes it possible to impose, during the movement of the carriage 240, when the tablet 22 moves from the retracted position to the deployed position, the rotation of the first link 242, and therefore a deployment of the deformable parallelogram mechanism of the connecting mechanism 24.

[0071] Figures 4 and 5 are side views of the connecting mechanism 24 of the tablet device 2 of [Fig.2], respectively in a retracted position and in an intermediate position close to the deployed position.

[0072] An operation of the tablet device 2 according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention is described in relation to FIGS. 6 to 9.

[0073] [Fig.6] is a partial side view of the tablet device 2 of [Fig.2], in retracted position.

[0074] In [Fig. 6], the tablet 22 is in its retracted position. The tablet 22 is thus stored under the base 202 of the fixing support 200, and therefore, in the example of [Fig. 1], under the structural element 6. In the retracted position, the tablet 22 is in the immediate vicinity of a lower surface of the base 202 of the fixing support 200, in order to limit the size of the tablet device 2.

[0075] To deploy the tablet 22, the passenger can exert a pulling action on the tablet 22 towards him. Alternatively, the deployment of the tablet 22 can be assisted, that is to say carried out, in whole or in part, by a deployment member, such as, for example, a motor or a spring.

[0076] The movement of the shelf 22 involves a movement of the shelf support 220 and, consequently, of the connecting bar 246. The movement of the connecting bar 246 causes the movement of the carriage 240.

[0077] [Fig.7] is a partial side view of the tablet device 2 of [Fig.6], in a first intermediate position, between the retracted position and the deployed position.

[0078] As can be seen in [Fig.7], when the carriage 240 moves, in particular in translation, the guide means 250 as a follower element of the guide lever 248 is forced to follow the path imposed by the guide groove 214.

[0079] Furthermore, the guide groove 214 comprising the first sector 214a and the second sector 214b of different orientations makes it possible to obtain two distinct phases during deployment. Thus, at the start of the deployment movement, the guide means 250 of the guide lever 248 is located at the level of the first sector 214a of the guide groove 214. In fact, the guide groove 214 drives the corresponding end of the guide lever 248 so as to move it away from the carriage 240. Thus, during a first phase of the deployment movement, the guide groove 214 induces a rotation of the guide lever 248 causing a rotation of the first link 242. The carriage 240, the first link 242, the second link 244 and the connecting bar 246 form a deformable parallelogram, the rotation of the first link 242 causes the deployment of such a deformable parallelogram.

[0080] As can be seen in [Fig.7], such deployment causes the connecting bar 246 to move away from the carriage 240, causing the tablet support 220 to move away from the fixing support 200 of the base 20. According to the example presented, the tablet support 220 therefore moves away from the structural element 6.

[0081] When the guide means 250 of the guide lever 248 reaches the second sector 214b of the guide groove 214, the deformable parallelogram of the connecting mechanism 24 is fully deployed. The tablet support 220 has reached a final height.

[0082] Figures 8 and 9 are partial side views of the tablet device 2 of [Fig.6], respectively in a second intermediate position, between the retracted position and the deployed position, and in the deployed position.

[0083] As can be seen in [Fig. 8], the guide means 250 of the guide lever 248 then travels through the second sector 214b of the guide groove 214. During a second phase of the deployment movement, the deformable parallelogram of the connecting mechanism 24 no longer undergoes any configuration modification. The connecting mechanism 24 follows a movement induced by the second sector 214b of the guide groove 214, in particular translation along the longitudinal axis X, until it reaches the deployed position of the tablet 22 visible in [Fig. 9].

[0084] The shelf support 220, and in particular the shelf 22, is located at a distance from the carriage 240 which is greater, measured in the deployed position, than this same distance, measured in the retracted position. This therefore makes it possible to have a height of the shelf 22 relative to the floor P of the cabin which is lower, in the deployed position, than the height of the shelf 22 relative to the floor P of the cabin, in the retracted position.

[0085] Such a configuration makes it possible to optimize the height of the shelf 22 when it is in the deployed position, while minimizing the size of the shelf 22 in the retracted position, in which the shelf 22 is then arranged as close as possible to the base 202 of the base 20.

[0086] The height difference d, visible in [Fig. 1], may be, for example, between 3cm and 20cm, in particular between 5cm and 15cm, in particular between 5cm and 10cm.

[0087] The retraction movement of the shelf 22 corresponds exactly to the opposite movement of the deployment movement described above. Thus, the retraction movement comprises a first phase during which the shelf 22 and the entire connecting mechanism follows a movement, in particular a translational one, along the longitudinal axis X, visible in [Fig. 9]. Then, during a second phase, visible in [Fig. 7], the guide means 250 of the guide lever 248 follows the first sector 214a of the guide groove 214, causing the folding of the deformable parallelogram of the connecting mechanism 24 towards the retracted configuration, corresponding to the position retracted from the tablet 22, as shown in [Fig.6].

[0088] The tablet device 2 may comprise a front cover 26, making it possible to conceal the connecting mechanism 24, when the tablet 22 is in the deployed position, or in an intermediate position between the retracted position and the deployed position.

[0089] Figures 10 and 11 are front views of the tablet device 2 of [Fig.2] respectively in the retracted position and in the deployed position.

[0090] More specifically, the front cover 26 may for example comprise a fixed part 260, integral with the base 20 and arranged so as to allow the user to grasp the tablet 22, when the latter is in the retracted position, as can be seen in [Fig. 10],

[0091] The fixed part 260 at least partially frames a movable part 262. The movable part 262 is capable of being moved, in particular in rotation and / or in translation, relative to the fixed part 260, between a retracted position, shown in [Fig.10], and a deployed position, shown in [Fig.11].

[0092] The deployed position of the movable part 262 corresponds to the deployed position of the tablet 22, in which it is sufficiently far from the fixing support 200 of the base 20 to allow the movable part 262 to take the deployed position, for example under the action of gravity.

[0093] The retracted position of the movable part 262 corresponds to the retracted position of the tablet 22, and / or to any intermediate positions of the tablet 22 between the deployed position and the retracted position of the tablet 22.

[0094] In the retracted position or in the intermediate positions of the shelf 22, when the shelf 22 is brought closer to the fixing support 200, the shelf 22 requires a total or partial lifting of the movable part 262.

[0095] During the deployment movement of the tablet, the mobile part 262 gradually returns to the deployed position, either under the action of gravity and / or a return device, for example elastic, not shown.

[0096] The tablet device 2 may comprise a locking device, capable of holding the tablet 22 in the retracted position.

[0097] The tablet device 2 may further comprise a locking device, capable of holding the tablet 22 in the deployed position. Such a locking device may further allow the tablet 22 to be locked in one or more intermediate positions.

[0098] The tablet device 2 may comprise an electric motorization system, allowing the passenger to control the automatic deployment and retraction of the tablet 22.

[0099] The tablet 22 extends, in particular, in a plane slightly inclined relative to the longitudinal axis X. For example, the angle between the plane of the tablet 22 and the axis Ion- horizontal X, corresponds to the angle formed by the floor P of the cabin with a horizontal direction when the aircraft is in level flight, which can be between 2 and 3°.

[0100] The angle between the plane of the tablet 22 and the longitudinal axis X will be reversed, if the seat unit is installed so that the passenger is facing towards the rear of the aircraft.

[0101] In the detailed presentation of the invention given above, the terms used should not be considered as limiting the invention to the embodiments set out, but should be interpreted to include all equivalents whose prediction is within the reach of those skilled in the art by applying their general knowledge to the implementation of the teaching just disclosed to them.

[0102] Obviously, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described above and provided solely by way of example. It encompasses various modifications, alternative forms and other variants that may be envisaged by those skilled in the art within the framework of the present invention and in particular all combinations of the different operating modes described above, which may be taken separately or in association.
