Abstract

On slippery surfaces, a wheel losing traction on a 4x4 vehicle limits the torque to the other three wheels in differential transmissions. A conventional solution is to link all the rotating wheels using clutches and dog clutches. This inflexible solution puts stress on the equipment. It is proposed to replace the inter-axle differential with two CVTs (Variable Speed Transmissions), consisting of two planetary gear trains, T1 and T2, torque-controlled by two motor-generator actuators, MG1 and MG2, all driven by a main internal combustion engine, MM. A specific arrangement maintains low power consumption and allows for battery self-recharging while driving. This design makes the transmission configurable according to the context, offering flexibility without clutches, dog clutches, or a gearbox, while simultaneously improving road contact. This invention is primarily intended for public works or military equipment, but not exclusively. See Fig. 7 for the abbreviated version.

Claims

claim 1 characterized in that the torque setpoint is adjusted to better distribute the load between the two axles depending on the grip of the wheels, either automatically in real time by the on-board computer, or at the initiative of the driver.

6. transmission for four-wheel drive all-terrain vehicle according to claim 1 characterized in that the speed range of the vehicle is covered in two zones delimited by the speed of the crowns QcO, a so-called low speed zone where the speed of the planet carriers Qm is constant and equal to QmO or zero and a so-called high speed zone where the speed of the planet carriers Qm is controlled by the speed of the vehicle to keep the speed of the actuators Qp close to zero.

7. Transmission for a four-wheel drive all-terrain vehicle according to claim 1 characterized in that the basic speed of the actuators is set to the zero speed of the vehicle.

8. transmission for four-wheel drive all-terrain vehicle according to claim 1 characterized in that the epicyclic gear trains and their actuators can be mounted concentrically on the same axis in the same casing linked to the chassis.

9. Transmission for a four-wheel drive all-terrain vehicle according to claim 1 characterized in that the main engine can be thermal or electric.

10. Transmission for a four-wheel drive off-road vehicle according to claim 1 characterized in that the battery is replaced by a super capacitor or by a combination of the two. [Fig. 1] Figure 1 [Fig. 2] Figure 2 [Fig. 3] Figure 3 Hybrid sn [Fig. 6]
