Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Motor vehicle comprising an electric machine, an air conditioning compressor forming a support for said electric machine
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of motor vehicles and in particular to the fixing of a compressor in a vehicle comprising at least one electric machine.
[0002] The compressor is, preferably, an air conditioning compressor from an air conditioning system.
[0003] The motor vehicle may be a hybrid vehicle, with the electric motor providing at least partial propulsion. The motor vehicle may also be a purely electric vehicle.
[0004] Today, the compressors of the vehicle's air conditioning system are mounted on the electric motor, thus taking advantage of the latter's filtration system. The electric motor is then connected to a support crossmember by two suspension members, each located at opposite ends of the electric motor.
[0005] The electric machine is also fixed to the vehicle body by a second support on the side of the reducer of said electric machine.
[0006] The size of electric compressors, known as "e-compressors," no longer allows their integration onto engines. Indeed, such compressors require more efficient filtration.
[0007] Furthermore, the second support requires that the fixing points be sufficiently spaced on the reducer of the electric machine in order to ensure sufficient rigidity of retention as well as a good level of vibration.
[0008] The attachment of an e-compressor on the side of the reducer of the electric machine causes interference with the second support of the electric machine.
[0009] There is therefore a need to improve the fixing of new air conditioning compressors in a motor vehicle comprising at least one electrical machine.
[0010] One objective of the invention is to provide a fixing for an air conditioning compressor, while reducing the size of the support on the side of the reducer of the electric machine.
[0011] The present invention relates to a motor vehicle comprising at least one electric machine extending along a transverse axis between two longitudinal members longitudinal, the said electrical machine comprising a drive shaft integral with a reducer.
[0012] The motor vehicle further includes a compressor of an air conditioning system extending along a longitudinal axis perpendicular to the transverse axis.
[0013] The vehicle includes a support for the electric machine on the side of the reducer attached to the side member on the reducer side.
[0014] The compressor includes at least two vertical fixing points, for example three, extending vertically from the external cylindrical surface of the compressor and each configured to cooperate with screw means, including a screw, for fixing to the support on the reducer side.
[0015] The particular fixing interface of the compressor on the support of the electrical machine on the side of the reducer allows the air conditioning compressor to be positioned on the side of the reducer of said electrical machine without degrading the vibration performance of said electrical machine while benefiting from the spacing of the fixing lugs of the compressor on the reducer.
[0016] Advantageously, the support of the electrical machine on the side of the reducer includes a fixing cross member extending in the plane comprising the transverse axis and the vertical axis and comprising a distal end integral with the spar on the reducer side and a proximal end integral with a support plate.
[0017] By "proximal end" is meant an end closer to the electrical machine than the "distal end".
[0018] Preferably, the support plate includes at least two holes cooperating with the screw means, for fixing the compressor on the support on the reducer side.
[0019] For example, each vertical fixing point of the compressor includes a threaded end intended to cooperate with screwing means, for example a nut.
[0020] The openings in the support plate on the reducer side allow the threaded ends of the vertical fixing studs of the compressor to pass through.
[0021] Alternatively, a structural inversion could be provided in which the vertical fixing pads include a thread intended to cooperate with a screw inserted through the corresponding hole in the support plate.
[0022] The support on the reducer side is, for example, made of metallic material.
[0023] Advantageously, the reducer includes three transverse fixing lugs extending along the transverse axis towards the side rail opposite the electric machine.
[0024] For example, the fixing lugs of the reducer are regularly distributed around the perimeter of said reducer and form an angle of 120° with respect to each other.
[0025] Advantageously, the compressor further comprises at least three transverse mounting lugs extending transversely from the body of the compressor and each configured to cooperate with a mounting lug of the reducer for fixing said reducer to the compressor.
[0026] For example, two of the transverse mounting studs of the compressor extend transversely from the external cylindrical surface of the compressor, preferably the upper surface and the lower surface, and one of the transverse mounting studs extends from a lateral surface of the compressor.
[0027] Advantageously, each transverse mounting block of the compressor has a cylindrical shape comprising a bore configured to receive the end of a corresponding mounting lug of the reducer, said mounting lugs of the reducer are made integral with an associated transverse mounting block of the compressor by means of screws, for example a screw.
[0028] For example, the electric machine includes a housing extending along the transverse axis and delimited transversely by a first end on the side opposite the reducer and a second end on the side of the reducer, said first end of the electric machine being fixed on a first support on the side of the vehicle's suspension.
[0029] Other objects, features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description, given solely by way of non-limiting example, and made with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
[0030] [Fig.1] illustrates in a very schematic way a part of the engine compartment of a motor vehicle according to the invention; and
[0031] [Fig.2] a detailed view of [Fig.1].
[0032] In the following description, the terms "longitudinal", "transverse", "vertical", "front", "rear", "left" and "right" are defined according to the usual orthogonal coordinate system for motor vehicles, shown in the drawings, and which includes:
[0033] - a longitudinal axis X, horizontal and oriented from the front to the rear of the vehicle;
[0034] - a horizontal transverse axis Y, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X and oriented of left to right of the vehicle as the vehicle moves forward;
[0035] - a vertical axis Z, orthogonal to the longitudinal and transverse axes X and Y and directed from bottom to top.
[0036] Figures 1 and 2 illustrate an example of a front portion 1 of an engine compartment M of a motor vehicle. The engine compartment M is closed by a hood (not shown) and is separated from the vehicle passenger compartment by a transverse partition or bulkhead (not shown).
[0037] The motor vehicle comprises, in a known manner, a chassis configured to support all the mechanical components and the body of the vehicle. The chassis comprises two longitudinal members 2, each extending along the longitudinal axis X, only one of which is visible in Figures 1 and 2, and a plurality of transverse cross members arranged between said members 2.
[0038] The motor vehicle 1 further includes an electric machine 3 comprising a casing 3a, here cylindrical, extending along the transverse axis Y and delimited transversely by a first end 3b and a second end 3c.
[0039] The first end 3b of the electric machine 3 is fixed on a first support 4, on the side of the suspension 5 of the vehicle 1.
[0040] The second end 3c of the electric machine 3, from which extends a drive shaft (not visible in the figures) connected to a reducer 6 comprising transverse fixing lugs 6a, here three in number, extending along the transverse axis Y towards the longitudinal member 2, on the side opposite the electric machine 3.
[0041] The fixing lugs 6a are regularly distributed around the perimeter of the reducer 6 and form an angle of 120° with respect to each other.
[0042] The motor vehicle further includes a compressor 10 of an air conditioning system (not shown) of the motor vehicle.
[0043] The compressor 10 comprises a substantially cylindrical body 10a extending along the longitudinal axis X, perpendicular to the electrical machine 3.
[0044] The compressor 10 includes vertical mounting studs 11, here three in number, extending vertically from the external cylindrical surface 10a of the compressor.
[0045] Alternatively, at least two vertical fixing points 11 could be provided.
[0046] Each vertical fixing stud 11 includes a threaded end (not visible on the figures) intended to cooperate with a screw means 12.
[0047] The compressor 10 further includes transverse fixing studs 13, here three in number, two of which extend transversely from the external cylindrical surface 10a of the compressor, here the upper surface and the lower surface and one transverse fixing stud 13 extends from a lateral surface 10b.
[0048] Each transverse fixing block 13 has a cylindrical shape comprising a bore configured to receive the end of a corresponding fixing lug 6a of the reducer 6. A fixing lug 6a of the reducer 6 is made integral with an associated transverse fixing block 13 by means of screws 14.
[0049] The reducer 6 is thus integral with the body of the compressor 10, so as to maintain the electrical machine 3 on said compressor 10 on the side of the reducer 6.
[0050] The vehicle further comprises a second support 7 for the electric machine 3 on the side of the reducer 6 comprising a mounting cross member 8 extending in the plane YZ and comprising a distal end 8a attached to the spar 2 and a proximal end 8b attached to a support plate 9.
[0051] The second support 7 is also called the reducer side support.
[0052] The support plate 9 has the shape of a plate and includes three orifices 9a allowing the passage of the threaded ends of the vertical fixing studs 11 of the compressor 10.
[0053] Alternatively, a structural inversion could be provided in which the vertical fixing studs 11 include a thread intended to cooperate with a screw inserted through the corresponding orifice 9a of the support plate 9.
[0054] The particular fixing interface of the compressor on the second support of the electric machine allows the air conditioning compressor to be positioned on the side of the reducer of said electric machine without degrading the vibration performance of said electric machine while benefiting from the spacing of the fixing points of the compressor on the reducer.
[0055] Furthermore, the air conditioning compressor acts as a support part for the electrical machine on the gearbox side.
