AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Current stretcher portage systems require four operators for hip portage, which is inefficient and labor-intensive, and do not allow for hands-free operation, making it difficult to navigate rugged or war zones while minimizing the jostling of wounded individuals.

Method used

A stretcher portage system equipped with hooking systems on both ends, allowing for portage by two operators on the shoulders or four on the hips, using a harness with adjustable straps and carabiner-type hooking systems, enabling efficient and hands-free transport.

Benefits of technology

The system reduces operator fatigue, allows for faster transport of injured individuals with minimal jostling, and enables easier navigation of obstacles, while also allowing for the transport of equipment and distribution of heavy loads across more muscular areas.

Abstract

This system allows a stretcher or a litter to be carried by the shoulders (fig. 1)(fig. 2)(fig. 5) or the waist (fig.3)(fig. 4)(fig. 6) thanks to a harness system equipped with nylon straps and hooks (fig.7)(fig.8).

Description

Title of the invention: Stretcher carrying system using a harness. Technical field

[0001] The invention relates to the field of carrying stretchers and stretchers.

[0002] The flexible stretcher with handles (single canvas), or with rigid carrying tubes (canvas plus tubes, called a stretcher), will be equipped with attachment systems on both ends, both with straps for attachment to the harness equipped on the two carriers for carrying by the shoulders, and systems

[0003] attachment on the four corners for carrying on the hips by four carriers.

[0004] The harness, of a design allowing tight and resistant strapping, will have as for him two attachment systems on the shoulders (one on each shoulder) ([Fig.l]), and two attachment systems on the hips

[0005] (one on each hip) ([Fig.3]), the operators being able to choose to carry the stretcher either two by the shoulders ([Fig.l]), or two ([Fig.3]) or four by the hips ([Fig.6]). In both cases, longitudinal straps on each side, made of reinforced nylon with a shoulder strap type adjustment system, extended beyond a tarpaulin (in which the person being carried is lying) allow the carrying system to be attached to the harnesses of the carriers. The system also allows a tarpaulin to be carried by means of tubes passing on each side protruding sufficiently, extending beyond the tarpaulin by approximately 1 m, to be able to attach to the clips located either on the shoulders ([Fig.2]) or those located on the hips ([Fig.4]), located approximately 60 cm from the end of the tubes.

[0006] The advantages are multiple: • Only two operators are required for the shoulder system, compared to four for the current system, so the system is twice as efficient • Operators will tire much less than when carrying the stretcher with their hands • Operators will have their hands free which is extremely useful in rugged / steep areas and / or war zones • The injured person will be better supported and less jostled than with the hand stretcher • Transport will be much faster than with the hand stretcher, allowing more lives to be saved and more injured people to be transported • This system also allows equipment to be transported in the stretcher if necessary, with the same advantages of practicality, hands-free operation and fatigue saving in particular. • This system allows less-trained operators to carry heavy loads (the legs and shoulders are naturally more muscular than the arms and hands) • Passing obstacles is much simpler than with the current system Implementation method

[0007] The manufacture of the various elements of the invention is quite simple. • The harness: it will be made up of crossed braided nylon bands, with adjustment straps according to the wearer's build, braided nylon shoulder straps reinforced with sewn-in foam to absorb the weight and reinforcement on the shoulders with two carabiner-type attachment systems and on the shoulders at the trapezius level (one on each side), and a reinforced belt strap in braided nylon and sewn-in foam with a carabiner-type attachment system on each side. • The stretcher: made of a reinforced 500D nylon tarpaulin of military quality (or other superior material) of at least 2 meters long, it will be equipped with 3 handles on each side and a handle at each end, a carabiner type hook at each of the four corners, and along each edge, lengthwise, a large reinforced strip of braided nylon, which will extend beyond the tarpaulin over an adjustable length of up to 120cm, finished with a clip type hook system ([Fig.7] and 8) • The stretcher (stretcher with carrying tubes on each side): the system will be the same as the stretcher, except that instead of the reinforced braided nylon band extending the lengths, the wooden or metal tubes will protrude approximately 1 meter beyond the stretcher on each side, and will have, 30cm from each end, a clip attachment system compatible with that of the harness attachments at shoulder level, in order to lock the stretcher tubes on the shoulders or hips of the two carriers.

[0008] Thus, the stretcher will be attached by the attachment systems located at its ends (nylon straps) to the harnesses of the two carriers (one in front, one behind) at shoulder level, and in the case of the stretcher, by the tubes on the second shoulder attachment system. The stretcher (or stretcher) can also be carried by the four attachment systems located at the corners of the canvas, and attached to the harnesses of the 4 carriers by the attachment systems located on each side at hip level (on the left for the two right-hand carriers, on the right for the two left-hand carriers).
