AI Technical Summary
Existing electrical harnesses in vehicles with fuse boxes located at the rear of the passenger compartment result in increased cable length, leading to higher manufacturing costs and energy losses due to cable resistance, particularly in electric vehicles.
The fuse boxes are positioned under the seat in the passenger compartment, reducing the need for cables to traverse the compartment and optimizing the electrical harness length, with improved accessibility and connection to the electrical components.
This configuration minimizes electrical losses and reduces manufacturing costs by shortening the harness length while enhancing fuse accessibility.

Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Vehicle with fuse box under a seat.
[0001] The technical field concerns motor vehicles having a fuse box under a seat.
[0002] Car manufacturers generally offer a varied range of vehicles, from the most economical to the most luxurious vehicles. The development of an economical vehicle obviously requires seeking solutions to reduce manufacturing and assembly costs or to reduce the quantities and diversity of materials used, without compromising the safety and quality of the vehicles offered to customers.
[0003] In this context, each motor vehicle has at least one electrical harness for supplying electrical energy to the various electrical equipment in the passenger compartment and / or the engine compartment. In order to protect the equipment against a possible electrical overload, each harness is secured by at least one fuse box. In some vehicles, this fuse box is located at the rear of the vehicle's passenger compartment. In order to connect the fuse box to the electrical equipment, the harness must therefore include electrical cables that pass through the passenger compartment to connect the fuse box. In addition to the costs of such an electrical harness, the length of the harness is likely to cause energy losses due to the resistance of the cables. Such losses represent a reduction in autonomy in the case of an electric vehicle.
[0004] When restyling an economical vehicle, it is therefore relevant to seek to optimize the electrical harness whose fuse box is positioned at the rear of the passenger compartment, in order to reduce the length of the harness to reduce costs and minimize electrical losses.
[0005] Thus, there is a need for a solution to optimize an electrical harness.
[0006] The present invention aims to overcome the problems set out above. In this technical context, one aim of the present invention is to provide a motor vehicle having an optimized electrical harness in order to reduce its length and minimize electrical losses.
[0007] To this end, the present invention relates to a motor vehicle comprising at least one housing designed to receive at least one electrical fuse, each housing being electrically connected to at least one electrical harness of the vehicle so as to be able to enable and interrupt the electrical supply of at least one electrical component of an electrical harness electrically connected to a fuse installed in the housing, each housing being arranged in the passenger compartment so as to be accessible from the passenger compartment, each box being placed under a seat of the vehicle.
[0008] Thus, the motor vehicle according to the invention has an electrical harness whose overall length is reduced since the box, located under the seat, makes it possible to do without cables passing through the entire passenger compartment to reach the fuse box conventionally installed at the rear of the passenger compartment. Furthermore, the accessibility of the box, and therefore of the fuses that it is likely to contain, is improved since it is located in the passenger compartment.
[0009] According to one embodiment of the invention, each box is fixed to the vehicle on a plane inclined relative to the floor of the passenger compartment.
[0010] According to a possibility of the vehicle, each box has a cover which can be fixed on the box so as to enclose each fuse installed in the box.
[0011] In one embodiment of the motor vehicle according to the invention, each box is fixed to at least one fixing support fixed to at least one leg of the seat.
[0012] Advantageously, the fixing support comprises at least one transverse bar connecting two legs of the seat.
[0013] According to one embodiment of the motor vehicle according to the invention, each box is arranged in a compartment provided in the floor.
[0014] Advantageously, the compartment is provided with a hatch allowing access to each box arranged in the compartment.
[0015] According to one possibility, the vehicle comprises a plurality of fuses mounted in each housing.
[0016] In one embodiment, each housing is electrically connected to an electrical harness supplied with a maximum voltage of 12 V.
[0017] Advantageously, the seat is the driver's seat.
[0018] The invention will be better understood on reading the detailed description which follows, given solely by way of non-limiting example and made with reference to the appended drawings in which:
[0019] [Fig-1] [Fig. 1] represents a side perspective view of a passenger compartment of a first embodiment of a vehicle according to the invention showing two boxes installed under a seat of the vehicle;
[0020] [Fig.2] [Fig.2] represents a perspective view of a second mode of realization vehicle layout in which each box is arranged in a floor compartment;
[0021] In these figures, the same references are used to designate the same elements.
[0022] A motor vehicle 1a, 1b according to the invention, illustrated in the figures, comprising at least one box 2 designed to receive at least one electrical fuse, not illustrated, in this case two boxes 2. Each box 2 being electrically connected to at least an electrical harness, not shown, of the vehicle 1a, 1b so as to be able to enable and interrupt the electrical supply of at least one electrical component of the electrical harness electrically connected to a fuse installed in the housing 2.
[0023] According to one possibility of the invention, a housing 2 is also designed to accommodate an electrical relay. In the following, a fuse is used to designate indifferently a fuse or an electrical relay.
[0024] In the example described, each box 2 is electrically connected to an electrical harness supplied with a maximum voltage of 12 V. The electrical harness supplies, for example, the equipment of the passenger compartment 3 of the vehicle 1a, 1b, not illustrated. Advantageously, the electrical harness also supplies equipment, not illustrated, located in the engine compartment of the vehicle.
[0025] As illustrated in the figures, each housing 2 has a cylindrical shape, in particular a cylindrical shape with a rectangular base. In addition, each housing 2 has, for example, a cover 4 which can be fixed to the housing 2, so as to enclose each fuse installed in the housing 2.
[0026] In the vehicle 1a, 1b according to the invention, each box 2 is arranged in the passenger compartment 3 so as to be accessible from the passenger compartment 3. Furthermore, each box 2 is arranged under a seat 5 of the vehicle 1a, 1b. As illustrated in the figures, the seat 5 is advantageously the driver's seat.
[0027] In order to facilitate access to the fuses of each box 2, each is fixed to the vehicle 1a, 1b on a plane inclined relative to the floor 6 of the passenger compartment 3. Advantageously, each box 2 is oriented so that the fuse(s) it contains are easily accessible, in particular from a space 7 located in front of the seat 5.
[0028] According to one possibility, each housing 2 is fixed to at least one fixing support 8 fixed to at least one leg 9, in this case two legs 9, of the seat 5. In the example illustrated, the fixing support 8 has at least one transverse bar 10 connecting the two legs 9 of the seat 5. The fixing support 8 is, for example, fixed by welding to each of the legs 9. The fixing of each housing 2 to its fixing support 8 is then carried out, for example, by screwing and / or welding.
[0029] According to an embodiment of the vehicle 1b, each box 2 is arranged in a compartment 11 formed in the floor 6 of the passenger compartment 3. Advantageously then, the compartment 11 is closed by an access hatch 12, mounted movably on the compartment 11 and allowing access to each box 2 arranged in the compartment 11.
[0030] Advantageously, the vehicle 1a, 1b comprises a plurality of fuses mounted in each box 2.
[0031] Thus, the automobile vehicle 1a, 1b has an electrical harness whose overall length is reduced since the box 2, located under the seat 5, makes it possible to do without cables crossing the entire passenger compartment 3. Furthermore, the accessibility of the box 2, and therefore of the fuses that it is likely to contain, is improved since it is located in the passenger compartment 3.
[0032] The invention is not limited to the embodiment of the vehicle described above, only by way of example, but other embodiments can be designed by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and scope of the present invention.
