Description

Title of the invention: Assembly comprising a charging cord and a support base for the charging cord TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to an assembly comprising a charging cord configured to equip a charging terminal of an electric or hybrid vehicle, and a support base configured to be secured to the charging terminal or to a wall near the charging terminal and to support the charging cord when the electric or hybrid vehicle is not electrically connected to the charging terminal.

[0002] The present invention also relates to a charging terminal for an electric or hybrid vehicle, provided with a charging cord comprising a plug and an electric cable and a support base for supporting the charging cord when the electric or hybrid vehicle is not electrically connected to the charging terminal.

[0003] The present invention also relates to the support base configured to support a charging cord comprising a plug and an electric cable and configured to equip a charging terminal of an electric or hybrid vehicle. STATE OF THE ART

[0004] Charging stations for electric or hybrid vehicles are generally provided with a housing, an electrical power source and electrical equipment, such as a connector, electrically connected to the electrical power source and to which a charging cord is electrically and mechanically connected, which comprises an electrical cable configured to mechanically and electrically connect the plug to the connector of the charging station and a plug configured to cooperate mechanically and electrically with a socket of the electric or hybrid vehicle.

[0005] German utility model DE 20 2021 104 295 describes a support base for such a charging cord, which is configured to be fixed to a wall.

[0006] This support base comprises a body in which a through-hole is formed, an adapter housed in this through-hole, and a hook-shaped portion which projects from the body and which extends under the orifice and the adapter.

[0007] The adapter is removably mounted in the through-hole and is configured to form-fit the plug of the charging cord, like a base of an electrical outlet.

[0008] The adapter can be changed depending on the plug model of the charging cord.

[0009] The hook-shaped portion allows the electric cable of the charging cord to be suspended by at least one section of this cable. Statement of the invention

[0010] The present invention aims to provide an assembly comprising a charging cord and a support base for this charging cord, of a similar type, and which is particularly simple to manufacture and convenient to use.

[0011] The invention thus relates, according to a first aspect, to an assembly comprising a charging cord configured to equip a charging terminal of an electric or hybrid vehicle, and a support base configured to be secured to the charging terminal or to a wall near the charging terminal and to support the charging cord when the electric or hybrid vehicle is not electrically connected to the charging terminal, the charging cord comprising a plug configured to cooperate mechanically and electrically with a socket of the electric or hybrid vehicle and an electrical cable configured to mechanically and electrically connect the plug to the charging terminal, the assembly being characterized in that the support base comprises a main housing configured to receive and hold the plug of the charging cord, and an additional notch provided in the main housing and configured to accommodate and hold a section of the electrical cable of the charging cord.

[0012] In the assembly according to the invention, the support base makes it possible to accommodate and hold the charging cord, both by its plug and by a section of its electrical cable, respectively in the main housing and the complementary notch of the support base.

[0013] As the complementary notch is directly formed inside the main housing, the section of the electrical cable must be passed through the main housing to reach the complementary notch, while the plug is directly received in the main housing.

[0014] In other words, even if it is impossible to pass the section of electric cable if the plug is already received and held in the main housing, it is on the contrary entirely possible to hold both the section of cable in the complementary notch and the plug in the main housing.

[0015] Preferred, simple, convenient and economical features of the electrical system according to the invention are presented below.

[0016] The support base can be made in one piece.

[0017] The support base may comprise a base having a front face and a front face rear opposite the front face, and a flexible tab extending from the base opposite and away from the front face, so as to at least partially define the main housing between the flexible tab and the front face.

[0018] The front face of the base may have a cavity of a first predetermined depth partially forming the main housing.

[0019] The complementary notch may be provided in the front face of the base and may have a second predetermined depth, and the flexible tab may extend from the complementary notch.

[0020] The base and the flexible tab may be configured to define an upper access opening and two side access openings facing each other, to accommodate the plug of the charging cord in the main housing and / or the section of the electrical cable of the charging cord in the complementary notch.

[0021] The additional notch can be made under the main housing, opposite the upper access opening.

[0022] The flexible tab may have a first end extending from the complementary notch provided in the front face of the base, and a second end, opposite the first end, which is located at a distance from the front face of the base and at the level of the upper access opening.

[0023] The flexible tab may have a generally curved shape, extending away from the front face of the base from its first end, to a central area furthest from the front face, then moving closer to the front face to its second end.

[0024] The tongue may be provided, at its second end, with a free edge curved in a direction opposite to the front face of the base.

[0025] The support base can be configured to be secured by the rear face of the base to the charging station or to a wall near the charging station.

[0026] The flexible tab may be movable between a first stable position and a second position in which the flexible tab is spaced from the front face of the base relative to its first stable position, when the plug of the charging cord is received in the main housing, with the flexible tab which, in its second position, is elastically deformed and tends to urge the plug to hold it in the main housing.

[0027] The section of the electrical cable of the charging cord may have a first section and the complementary notch may have a second section generally similar to or slightly larger than the first section, and the section of the electrical cable of the charging cord is received and held in the complementary notch, with or without the plug of the charging cord being received and held in the main housing.

[0028] The invention also relates, according to a second aspect, to a charging terminal for an electric or hybrid vehicle, provided with a charging cord comprising a plug configured to cooperate mechanically and electrically with a socket of the electric or hybrid vehicle and an electrical cable configured to mechanically and electrically connect the plug to the charging station, and a support base to support the charging cord when the electric or hybrid vehicle is not electrically connected to the charging station, the charging cord and the support base forming an assembly as described above.

[0029] The invention also relates, according to a third aspect, to a support base configured to support a charging cord of a charging terminal of an electric or hybrid vehicle, the charging cord comprising a plug configured to cooperate mechanically and electrically with a socket of the electric or hybrid vehicle and an electrical cable configured to mechanically and electrically connect the plug to the charging terminal, characterized in that the base comprises a main housing configured to receive and hold the plug of the charging cord and a complementary notch provided in the main housing and configured to receive and hold a section of the electrical cable of the charging cord. [0046] [Fig.l] schematically represents an electrical system of the charging station type 1 for an electric or hybrid vehicle, provided with an assembly 2 formed by a charging cord 3 and a support base 4 for this charging cord 3.

[0047] The charging cord 3 comprises a plug 5 configured to cooperate mechanically and electrically with a socket of an electric or hybrid vehicle (not shown) and an electrical cable 6 configured to mechanically and electrically connect the plug 5 to an electrical device 7 of the charging terminal 1, such as a connector, which is electrically connected to a power source (not shown).

[0048] The support base 4 is configured to support the charging cord 3, both by its plug 5 and by a section of its electric cable 6, when the electric or hybrid vehicle is not electrically connected to the charging terminal 1.

[0049] In particular, the charging terminal 1 is provided with a housing 8 comprising here a front face 9, a rear face (not visible) opposite the front face 9, and side faces 10 joining the front face 9 and the rear face.

[0050] In the example illustrated, the support base 4 is secured to the front face 9 of the housing 8 of the charging terminal 1.

[0051] The support base 4 will be described in detail with reference to figures 2 to 7.

[0052] The support base 4 comprises a base 12 and a flexible tab 20 which extends from base 12.

[0053] The support base 4 is here made in a single piece.

[0054] In particular, the support base 4 can be made of plastic, by manufacturing additive, by molding, or any other suitable manufacturing means.

[0055] The base 12 which, in the illustrated example, is generally circular, has a contour 14 extending on either side of an upper wall 16 defining the top of the support base 4 and a bottom wall 17 defining the bottom of the support base 4.

[0056] The base 12 has a front face 13 and a rear face 15 opposite the front face 13, defining between the front face 13 and the rear face 15 generally a thickness of the base 12.

[0057] The flexible tongue 20 extends from the base 12 opposite and at a distance from the front face 13 so as to at least partially define a main housing 21 between the flexible tongue 20 and the front face 13.

[0058] The support base 4 further comprises a complementary notch 22 formed in the main housing 21 and in the front face 13 of the base 12.

[0059] In particular, in the illustrated example, the front face 13 has, from the upper wall 16 of the base 12 towards the lower wall 17 of the base 12, that is to say in an up-down direction, an inclined wall 23, a cavity 24 extending from the inclined wall 23, and the complementary notch 22 extending from the cavity 24.

[0060] The cavity 24 and the complementary notch 22 at least partially define the main housing 21, extend longitudinally in a direction generally orthogonal to the top-bottom direction, and join the contour 14 on either side.

[0061] The complementary notch 22 extends here from the front face 13 towards the rear face 15 and towards the lower wall 17 of the base 12, so that the complementary notch 22 is made at an angle in the base 12.

[0062] The cavity 24 has a first predetermined depth and the complementary notch 22 has a second predetermined depth, with the depth being generally defined between the front face 13 and the rear face 15 of the base 12.

[0063] In the illustrated example, the second predetermined depth is here greater than the first predetermined depth.

[0064] In other words, the complementary notch 22 is deeper than the cavity 24.

[0065] The rear face 15 is substantially flat and is here provided with fixing members 25 to secure the support base 4 to a wall, for example of the charging station.

[0066] In the example illustrated, the fixing members 25 are tapped holes, here four in number, located at a peripheral edge 26 of the rear face 15 and distributed uniformly along this peripheral edge 26.

[0067] The flexible tongue 20 extends from the lower wall 17 at the location of the complementary notch 22.

[0068] In other words, the flexible tongue 20 partially delimits a space defined by the complementary notch 22.

[0069] In particular, the flexible tongue 20 comprises a first end 28 attached to the lower wall 17 of the base 12 and a second end 29 free and opposite the first end 28.

[0070] The flexible tongue 20 has a generally curved shape, first moving away from the front face 13 of the base 12 from its first end 28 to a central zone 30 furthest from the front face 13, then moving closer to the front face 13 to its second end 29.

[0071] The central zone 30 extends opposite the cavity 24 formed in the front face 13 of the base 12, so as to form the main housing 21 at least partially with this cavity 24.

[0072] The flexible tongue 20 is provided, at its second end 29, with a free edge 32 curved in a direction opposite to the front face 13 of the base 12.

[0073] The free edge 32 extends generally opposite the inclined wall 23 formed on the front face 13 of the base 12.

[0074] The flexible tongue 20 and the base 12 define between them an upper access opening 33 located between the inclined wall 23 and the free edge 32 of the flexible tongue 20.

[0075] The inclined wall 23 of the base 12 and the free edge 32 of the flexible tongue 20 are such that the upper access opening 33 is flared.

[0076] In the example illustrated, the complementary notch 22 is made at the bottom of the main housing 21, opposite the access opening 33.

[0077] The flexible tongue 20 and the base 12 further define two lateral access openings 34 facing each other and located between the front face 13 of the base 12 and the lateral edges 36 of the flexible tongue 20.

[0078] The lateral access openings 34 are located in the direction orthogonal to the top-bottom direction, on either side of the contour 14.

[0079] In the example illustrated, the lateral edges 36 are notched at the central zone 30, to enlarge the lateral access openings 34.

[0080] The support base 4 is configured so that the flexible tongue 20 is movable at least between a first stable position and a second position in which the flexible tongue 20 is spaced from the front face 13 of the base 12 relative to its first stable position, with the flexible tongue 20 being elastically deformed.

[0081] Figures 8 to 15 show in isolation the assembly 2 formed by the support base 4 and the charging cord 3, with the charging cord 3 which is supported by the support base 4 according to different configurations of use.

[0082] In particular, figures 8 and 9 show the assembly 2 with the plug 5 of the charging cord 3 engaged in the support base 4.

[0083] In this configuration of use, the electric cable 6 is located outside the support base 4 and the plug 5 is received in the main housing 21.

[0084] The plug 5 extends generally in the direction orthogonal to the up-down direction, noted X in figures 8 and 9.

[0085] The flexible tongue 20 is in its second position in which it is spaced from the front face 13 of the base 12 relative to its first stable position, shown here in dotted lines.

[0086] It is the plug 5 of the charging cord 3 which, when it is received in the main housing 21, moves the flexible tab 20 from its first rest position to its second position.

[0087] This is possible thanks to the dimensioning of the main housing 21, in particular its section, with respect to the section of the plug 5.

[0088] In particular, the plug 5 has a first section and the main housing 21 has a second, variable section, which is less than the first section when the flexible tab 20 is in its first rest position.

[0089] In its second position, the flexible tab 20 is elastically deformed and urges the plug 5 to hold it in the main housing 21.

[0090] In particular, the flexible tab 20 holds the plug 5 at least partially in the cavity 24 formed on the front face 13 of the base 12 and at the level of the central zone 30 of the flexible tab 20.

[0091] Note that the curved shape of the flexible tab 20 slightly narrows the access opening, so that the plug 5 moves in the up-down direction under the effect of the stress of the flexible tab 20 and does not escape from the main housing 21.

[0092] When the plug 5 is removed from the main housing 21, the flexible tab 20 naturally returns to its first rest position.

[0093] Figures 10 and 11 show the assembly 2 with the charging cord cable 3 engaged in the support base 4.

[0094] In this configuration of use, the plug 5 is located outside the support base 4 and a section of the electric cable 6 is received in the complementary notch 22.

[0095] The remainder of the electric cable 6 and the plug 5 can for example be suspended from the support base 4, as illustrated.

[0096] Figures 12 and 13 show an alternative embodiment of Figures 10 and 11, in which the assembly 2 with the charging cord cable 3 is engaged in the support base 4, the plug 5 is outside the support base 4, a section of the electric cable 6 is received in the complementary notch 22, and the remainder of the electric cable 6 is partially wound in the main housing 21 at the cavity 24, with here several sections of the electric cable 6 which are received in the main housing 21, one above the other and / or one next to the other, and which are therefore positioned above the section of the electric cable 6 which is received in the complementary notch 22.

[0097] As visible in figures 11 and 13, the flexible tab 20 is in its first stable position when the electric cable 6 is received in the complementary notch 22 and when the plug 5 is outside the main housing 21.

[0098] Indeed, the complementary notch 22 is configured to accommodate the section of the electric cable 6 without visible deformation of the support base 4.

[0099] This is possible thanks to the dimensioning of the complementary notch 22, in particular its section, with respect to the section of the electric cable 6.

[0100] In particular, in the example illustrated, the section of the electric cable 6 has a first section and the complementary notch 22 has a second section generally similar to the first section of the section of the electric cable 6, so that the latter can be inserted and held in position in the complementary notch 22.

[0101] Such an arrangement therefore makes it possible to ensure that the charging cord 3 is held in place by a section of its electrical cable 6.

[0102] Figures 14 and 15 show the assembly 2 with the plug 5 and the electric cable 6 of the charging cord 3 engaged in the support base 4.

[0103] In this configuration of use, the plug 5 is received in the main housing 21 and a section of the electric cable 6 is received in the complementary notch 22, as in the configurations of use described with reference to figures 8 to 13.

[0104] The plug 5 therefore extends generally in the direction orthogonal to the up-down direction, also noted X in figures 14 and 15, while the section of the electric cable 6 is received and held in the complementary notch 22.

[0105] As described previously, the flexible tab 20 is in its second position since the plug 5 is received in the main housing 21.

[0106] Although the flexible tongue 20 is spaced from the front face 13 of the base 12, the section of the complementary notch 22 remains unchanged or is only slightly enlarged at one end of the complementary notch 22.

[0107] In the assembly 2 as described above, the support base 4 therefore makes it possible to accommodate and hold the charging cord 3, both by its plug 5 and by a section of its electric cable 6, respectively in the main housing 21 and the complementary notch 22 of the support base 4.

[0108] As the complementary notch 22 is directly formed inside the main housing 21, the section of the electric cable 6 must be passed through the main housing 4 to reach the complementary notch 22 while the plug 5 is directly received in the main housing 21.

[0109] In other words, even if it is impossible to pass the section of electric cable 6 if the plug 5 is already received and held in the main housing 21, it is on the contrary entirely possible to hold both the section of electric cable 6 in the complementary notch 22 and the plug 5 in the main housing 21.

[0110] In particular, a user can position the section of the electric cable 6 above the upper access opening 33 by extending longitudinally in a direction generally orthogonal to the top-bottom direction, then introduce it into the main housing 21 in the top-bottom direction until reaching the complementary notch 22 where the section of the electric cable 6 is received and held.

[0111] Alternatively or in addition, the user can position the plug 5 either opposite the upper access opening 33 or opposite a lateral access opening 34, then insert it into the main housing 21 and into the cavity 24 in moving away, by elastic deformation, the flexible tab 20 until the plug 5 is held in the main housing 21 while being stressed by the flexible tab 20.

[0112] Note that if the plug 5 is inserted through the top of the support base 4, the plug 5 is passed between the inclined wall 23 of the front face 13 and the free edge 32 of the flexible tab 20.

[0113] Variants not illustrated are described below.

[0114] The front face of the base may be provided, at the cavity at least partially defining the main housing, with a textured surface or an adhesive coating.

[0115] The base of the support base may be oblong, or rectangular, rather than circular.

[0116] The tongue may be provided, at its central zone on an internal face in view of the front face of the base, a textured surface and / or an adhesive coating.

[0117] The tongue can be hinged relative to the base.

[0118] The support base may be secured to the side faces of the charging station housing or to a wall near the charging station. Where appropriate, the support base is sufficiently close to the charging station to be able to support the charging cord while leaving it mechanically and electrically connected to the electrical equipment of the charging station.

[0119] Other fixing members for the support base can be envisaged, for example adhesive elements, clipping members, etc.

[0120] More generally, the invention is not limited to the examples described and represented.
