Description

Title of the invention: Separating wall for waste collection bin

[0001] The invention relates to the separating walls of waste collection bins.

[0002] With a view to selective sorting of waste, it is known to separate a storage volume of a waste collection container into several compartments, for example into two compartments, in order to form in a single bin several different waste storage volumes. To do this, it is known to integrate a separating wall, this wall extending for example vertically from an opening of the waste collection bin to the bottom of the waste collection bin by dividing the initial storage volume into two compartments. This separating wall can divide the storage volume into two compartments of equal or unequal volumes.

[0003] The separating wall must create a certain seal between the two compartments created. Sealing means that there cannot be, inside the waste collection container, any transfer of waste from one compartment to the other. To do this (and also to keep the separating wall in the tank when emptying the waste collection bin), the separating wall is preferably in contact with the internal faces of the side walls of the waste collection container as well as the internal face of a bottom wall of the waste collection container by being fixed to the latter.

[0004] Typically, the separating wall(s) inserted inside a waste collection container and the waste collection container comprise means for positioning and locking the separating wall in the waste collection bin. This may, for example, be a guide rail provided on an internal face of one or more walls of the waste collection bin and cooperating with one or more grooves provided on the surface of the separating wall. This generally involves an interaction between a male element and a female element carried by the waste collection bin and the separating wall. This male element / female element interaction may also allow the separating wall to be fitted into the waste collection bin.

[0005] Furthermore, and in addition to this guidance / blocking, it is known to clip the separating wall to the waste collection bin, for example at an interaction zone between an upper side of the separating wall and the upper collar of the waste collection bin.

[0006] The disadvantage of the aforementioned solutions is that it is necessary to provide specific elements carried by the waste collection bin and by the separating wall to allow the latter to be fixed. Therefore, it is no longer possible to fix a separating wall to a waste collection bin which does not include the elements necessary for fixing said separating wall. Consequently, a waste collection bin which has not been designed in such a way as to be able to separate its waste storage volume into several sub-volumes could not be subject to such separation.

[0007] The aim of the invention is to provide a dividing wall comprising a fixing member allowing it to be fixed in any type of waste collection bin, whether the latter have been designed to accommodate such a dividing wall or not.

[0008] To this end, the invention relates to a separating wall for a waste collection bin comprising: - a main body comprising an upper edge, a lower edge and two side edges, the side edges and / or the lower edge being intended to be in contact with an internal face of a wall of a waste collection container, - at least one member for fixing the separating wall to a waste collection container extending from at least one side edge or the bottom edge, the fixing member comprising a set of fixing walls aligned with each other in a direction extending perpendicular to the side or bottom edge and towards the inside of the main body, the fixing walls being intended to be crossed by a removable fixing element intended to cross at least a part of the set of fixing walls and the wall of a waste collection container when the separating wall is fixed in a waste collection container.

[0009] Typically, the fixing member comprises at least four fixing walls, for example at least five fixing walls, or at least six fixing walls aligned with respect to each other in a direction extending perpendicular to the lateral edge.

[0010] Thus, a set of fixing walls is used which is intended to be crossed by a removable fixing element to enclose the wall or walls of the waste collection bin, at the level of the zone or zones in which fixing members are placed, between the fixing walls and the removable fixing element. It is therefore possible to fix the separating wall in a container which does not include any particular device for fixing a separating wall. Brief description of the figures

[0015] [Fig.4] is a cross-sectional view of a portion of a dividing wall according to the invention, and

[0017] We now refer to [Fig. 1] illustrating a separating wall 2 intended to divide a storage volume of a waste collection container into two storage sub-volumes in order to create two waste streams of different natures in the same waste collection container. The separating wall 2 is intended to be arranged in a waste collection bin in order to divide the storage volume into two sealed compartments. Sealing is understood to mean the fact that there cannot be, inside the waste collection container, any transfer of waste from one compartment to the other.

[0018] The dividing wall 2 extends for example vertically from an opening of the waste collection bin to the bottom of the waste collection bin, dividing the initial storage volume into two compartments. It may divide the storage volume into two compartments of equal or unequal volumes. The dividing wall 2 may also be arranged inclined in the waste collection container.

[0019] The separating wall comprises a main body 4. This main body 4 forms almost the entirety of the separating wall 2. It comprises a plurality of discontinuities 6 (two discontinuities referenced in [Fig.l]) making it possible to stiffen the separating wall 2. These discontinuities 6 form depressions on the external faces of the main body 4. Preferably, discontinuities 6 arranged one opposite the other on opposite faces of the main body 4 meet, which makes it possible to stiffen the main body 4.

[0020] The main body 4 is preferably made of high-density polyethylene. This is a material conventionally used to design waste collection bins, comprising optimal mechanical properties. The main body 4 can be made by blow molding. Therefore, it forms a hollow body. It could also be solid, for example by being made by injection molding.

[0021] The main body 4 comprises four slices, three of which are intended to be in contact with internal faces of walls of the waste collection container (the two side slices 8 and the lower slice 10), in order to separate the storage volume.

[0022] The separating wall 2 may comprise at least one elastically deformable sealing lip 12 extending from the lateral edges 8 and / or the lower edge 10. The example illustrated shows the presence of a sealing lip extending from one lateral edge 8 to the other lateral edge 8 via the lower edge 10.

[0023] Advantageously, the sealing lip 12 is molded integrally with the main body 4. This is a simple way of obtaining the separating wall 2. For example, the sealing lip 12 can be made of high-density polyethylene, just like the main body 4. Concerning the sealing lip 12, the use of high-density polyethylene contributes to obtaining a certain elasticity of the sealing lip 12.

[0024] Alternatively, the sealing lip 12 could be attached to the main body 4 after molding the latter, for example by gluing, or even be overmolded onto the main body 4. This makes it possible to choose a specific material for the sealing lip 12 and different from that of the main body 4.

[0025] The separating wall comprises at least one fixing member 14 of the separating wall to a waste collection container extending from at least one side edge 8 or the lower edge 10. In the example of [Fig.l], the separating wall 2 comprises six fixing members 14 forming two groups of three fixing members 14, each side edge 8 having three fixing members 14 extending from it at different levels of said side edge. The number of fixing members and their positions may of course differ from the example of the figures.

[0026] Each fixing member 14 comprises a set of fixing walls 16 (see figures 2 to 4) aligned with each other in a direction of extension A extending perpendicular to the lateral edge 8 or lower edge 10 (in the example of [Fig.2] perpendicular to a lateral edge 8) and towards the inside of the main body 4.

[0027] The fixing walls 14 may extend projecting from at least one face 19 of the main body 4, for example perpendicular to a plane in which said face 19 extends.

[0028] Alternatively, and as is the case in the figures, the fixing walls 16 can extend into a thickness of the main body 4. This is particularly visible in [Fig. 4]. In this case, a removable fixing element (described below) passes through, at the time of fixing the separating wall 2 to a waste collection container, a wall forming the lateral edge 8 or lower edge 10 then at least a portion of the fixing walls 16 to ensure the fixing of the separating wall 2 to the waste collection container.

[0029] The fixing walls may or may not be rectilinear, and may or may not be parallel to each other.

[0030] The fixing walls 16 may be solid or hollow. A solid fixing wall forms a robust anchoring element for a removable fixing element, especially if its thickness is significant. A hollow fixing wall makes it possible to consume less plastic material and to lighten the fixing wall, and can still form a robust anchoring element for a removable fixing element, for example if it is entirely crossed by a removable fixing element. The fixing member according to the invention is particularly suitable for fixing hollow walls. Commonly, a hollow wall is called a blown wall and can be obtained by an extrusion blowing process.

[0031] The fixing walls 16 may be separate from each other. They may also be connected to each other, as can be seen in Figures 3 and 4 in which connecting walls 18 (only two referenced in [Fig.4]) connect the separating walls 16 two by two (each connecting wall connecting two adjacent fixing walls 16). The connecting walls 18 may, as is the case in the illustrated example, be subassemblies of a single connecting wall 20 (see Figures 3 and 4). Generally, each fixing wall 16 may have a first end connected to a first adjacent fixing wall 16 by a first connecting wall 18 and a second end opposite the first end connected to a second adjacent fixing wall 16 by a second fixing wall 18.

[0032] The fixing member 14 may be made in one piece with the main body 4 by being conventionally molded with the latter.

[0033] Alternatively, it can be attached to the latter as shown in [Fig.5]. In such a case, the main body 4 is designed, for example by molding, for example by blow molding. A housing 22 is provided in the main body 4. This housing can be formed by a through-orifice or by a blind hole.

[0034] The fixing member 14 is designed elsewhere, for example by molding, then is attached to the housing 22. It can, for example, be glued or force-mounted in the housing 22.

[0035] This possibility of attaching the fixing member 14 to the main body 4 makes it possible, for example, to produce the fixing member in a material different from that of the main body (for example more robust, etc.), or by a design technique different from that of the main body.

[0036] The fixing walls 16 are intended to be crossed by a removable fixing element (not shown) intended to cross at least a part of the set of fixing walls 16 and a wall of a waste collection container when the separating wall 2 is fixed in a waste collection container.

[0037] The greater the number of fixing walls 16, the more anchoring points this creates for the removable fixing element so as to stabilize it in the separating wall 2.

[0038] In other words, the removable fixing element can pass through, from outside the waste collection container, the wall of said container and all or part of the fixing walls 16. As explained above, and when the separation walls 16 extend into the thickness of the main body 4, the removable fixing element also passes through the wall of the side edge 8 (or of the lower edge 10).

[0039] The removable fixing element is for example a screw or a clip. Any other removable element that can pass through the fixing walls can be considered.

[0040] The fixing walls 16 may comprise through holes allowing the removable fixing element to pass through. Alternatively, the removable fixing element may, for example when it is a screw, pierce the fixing walls passed through at the time of fixing the separating wall 2 to the waste collection container.

[0041] The invention also relates to an assembly formed from a separating wall 2 and a removable fixing element.

[0042] The invention also relates to a waste collection container comprising an assembly formed of a separating wall 2 and a removable fixing element.

[0043] The invention is not limited to the embodiments presented and other embodiments will become clear to those skilled in the art.
