Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Laminated packaging material, comprising a cardboard base coated with an anti-abrasive paper coating
[0001] The field of the invention is that of the design and manufacture of cardboard packaging materials, in particular but not exclusively for the production of crosspieces delimiting locations intended to receive bottles or other containers.
[0002] In the field of invention, the use of cardboard to produce packaging has long been widespread.
[0003] In a particular use, cardboard strips are shaped with regularly distributed slots, so as to be able to overlap another identical cardboard strip by extending perpendicularly to each other. According to this principle, with an appropriate number of cardboard strips, it is possible to produce crosspieces intended to be received in a cardboard box, such that the crosspieces extend over the entire surface of the bottom of the cardboard box.
[0004] Thus, such crosspieces delimit locations for bottles for example, and in particular glass bottles containing perfume, cosmetic products, etc.
[0005] However, certain players in the perfume industry or the cosmetics industry who use boxes incorporating crossbars for shipping their bottles want particular care to be taken with their bottles. In particular, they must be assured that the bottles and / or the labels that these bottles carry are not damaged in any way during shipping, particularly with regard to possible scratches caused by the bottle or its label rubbing against the walls of the crossbars.
[0006] Indeed, a cardboard material is by nature more or less abrasive and can cause such scratches.
[0007] Also, to avoid scratches due to friction against the cardboard, a solution of the state of the art consists of applying a plastic coating on the side of the cardboard, likely to be brought into contact with the transported products.
[0008] In this way, a smooth, non-abrasive surface is obtained, which allows the transported products to be kept intact.
[0009] That being said, cardboard coated with a plastic film becomes more difficult to recycle and, generally speaking, the use of plastic material becomes a means to be avoided for environmental and sustainable development reasons.
[0010] The invention aims in particular to overcome this drawback of the prior art.
[0011] More specifically, the invention aims to propose a laminated packaging material comprising a cardboard base layer, preferably made from fibers recycled or regenerated, which has anti-abrasive properties, without resorting to a plastic-type coating.
[0012] The invention also aims to provide such a packaging material which can be manufactured simply and inexpensively.
[0013] These objectives, as well as others which will appear subsequently, are achieved thanks to the invention which has as its subject a laminated packaging material, comprising at least one base cardboard coated on at least one of its faces with an anti-abrasive coating, characterized in that the anti-abrasive coating is a sheet of paper including a maximum of five mineral-type grains with a diameter of between 100 and 150 microns per square meter of paper, one face of the sheet of paper being applied to the base cardboard, the other face of the sheet of paper being coated with a coating comprising a wax.
[0014] In this way, the laminated packaging material having a "cardboard" base layer is given anti-abrasive properties by replacing the anti-abrasive plastic film of the prior art with a paper coating specially designed for its anti-abrasive properties.
[0015] Thus, a material is obtained that respects environmental and sustainable development considerations, the material obtained being completely biodegradable.
[0016] According to an advantageous embodiment, the coating represents between 6% and 7.5% by mass of the sheet of paper which also comprises between 91% and 95% of a cellulose fiber pulp.
[0017] Preferably, the sheet of paper comprises by mass: - 92.4% of a cellulose fiber pulp - 6.8% coating - 0.8% of an additive forming a cohesion agent
[0018] According to an advantageous solution, the sheet of paper has a thickness of between 48 μm and 60 μm, and preferably a thickness of 54 μm.
[0019] According to an advantageous embodiment, the sheet of paper has a tensile strength of approximately 4 kN / m2 on its face presenting the coating.
[0020] According to a particular embodiment, the material comprises three layers of recycled or regenerated fibers joined together to form the base cardboard, and in particular to form a base flat cardboard.
[0021] Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear more clearly on reading the following description of a preferred embodiment of the invention, given as a simple illustrative and non-limiting example, and the appended drawings among which:
[0022] [Fig-1] ; [Fig.l] schematically illustrates a laminated packaging material according to a particular embodiment of the invention;
[0023] [Fig.2] ; [Fig.2] schematically illustrates an installation for the manufacture of a laminated packaging material according to the invention.
[0024] With reference to [Fig.l], a laminated packaging material 1 is described below, comprising at least one base cardboard 10, coated on at least one of its faces with an anti-abrasive coating.
[0025] According to the invention, the anti-abrasive coating is a sheet of paper 11 including a maximum of five mineral-type grains with a diameter of between 100 and 150 μm per square meter of paper.
[0026] This sheet of paper 11 has a face 110 applied to the cardboard base layer 10, the other face 111, opposite the face 110 of the sheet of paper, is coated with a coating comprising a wax.
[0027] Preferably, the wax of the coating is a natural wax.
[0028] According to the embodiment illustrated by [Fig.l], the base cardboard 10 of the laminated packaging material is made up of three layers of recycled or regenerated fibers 100 joined to each other.
[0029] As illustrated in [Fig.l], the cardboard base board 10 is sandwiched between two sheets of paper 11, each with one side applied to the base board and the other side 111 coated with a coating comprising a natural wax.
[0030] According to advantageous characteristics of the invention, the coating represents between 6% and 7.5% by mass of the sheet of paper, furthermore consisting of a cellulose fiber pulp representing from 91% to 94% by mass of the sheet of paper.
[0031] According to an advantageous embodiment, the sheet of paper comprises: - 92.4% of a cellulose fiber pulp - 6.8% coating - 0.8% of an additive forming a cohesion agent
[0032] Furthermore, the sheet of paper 11, or each sheet of paper 11, has a thickness of between 48 μm and 60 μm, and preferably a thickness of 54 μm.
[0033] Furthermore, the sheet of paper 11, or each sheet of paper 11, has a tensile strength of approximately 4 kN / m2 on its coated face 111.
[0034] Furthermore, the sheet of paper 11, or each sheet of paper 11, may further have the following characteristics: - it has a weight of 45 g / m2; - it has a humidity level of 4 to 5%, and preferably 4.5%, before gluing on the cardboard base layer; - it has a whiteness level of 80 CIE, D65 / 10 degrees; - it has, on each of its sides, a Cobb index between 20 g / m2 and 30 g / m2.
[0035] A laminated packaging material according to the invention can be obtained with an ins- online installation described below with reference to [Fig.2].
[0036] Three head boxes T1, T2 and T3 each contain a paper pulp from which three layers are formed which are introduced into a press 3 in which they are joined together to form the base board. These three layers of fibers are then introduced into a press P, then into a dryer S, allowing the layers of fibers to be laminated and dried to produce a fibrous mat (the base board).
[0037] After passing through a surface treatment station T, the base cardboard is drawn into a laminating station C in which a sheet of paper 11 according to the invention is unwound from an upper reel and another sheet of paper 11 is unwound from a lower reel, so that each of the faces of the base cardboard is coated with a sheet of paper 11.
[0038] The assembly thus obtained is brought into a second dryer S2 at the outlet of which the product is wound onto a winder E.
[0039] The rolled laminated packaging material can then be cut into sheets or strips to make crosspieces to form housings, for example for bottles, once placed at the bottom of a cardboard box.
