Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Assembly for the manufacture of a roller shutter box
[0001] The present invention relates to the building sector, particularly roller shutter boxes. In particular, the invention relates to an assembly for manufacturing a roller shutter box and a roller shutter box obtained with such an assembly.
[0002] To install roller shutters on a building opening, it is known to have a housing forming a cavity extending axially. This cavity allows, in particular, the roller shutter to be received around an axis and possibly a motor and electronic components.
[0003] Roller shutter boxes are generally closed at their axial ends by end caps. To ensure a watertight seal, the end caps may be fitted with a peripheral gasket. These end caps are generally screwed in, which allows for good compression of the gasket and therefore a good seal.
[0004] Such a screw-on fixing is however not entirely satisfactory in terms of speed and ease of mounting the tips on the trunk.
[0005] One object of the invention is to have a box with end caps which are easy and quick to assemble and which offers sufficient sealing guarantees.
[0006] To this end, the invention relates to an assembly for the manufacture of a roller shutter box comprising a blade suitable for delimiting at least a part of a wall of a roller shutter box and an end cap, the blade comprising two axial ends, each axial end delimiting at least one cavity accessible from said axial end, each cavity being delimited by an edge and the end cap being configured to be mounted on one of the axial ends of the blade, said end cap being in the form of a plate with an internal face turned towards the blade and an external face opposite to the mounted state of the end cap on the blade; characterized in that the tip comprises, on its inner face, at least one elastically deformable tab configured to extend at least partially into one of the axial cavities of the blade in the mounted state of the tip, in that the elastically deformable lug comprises at least one locking member configured to cooperate with a complementary locking member of the blade for a snap-fit coupling of the tip and the blade, in that the inner face of the tip comprises a groove which delimits a closed perimeter, and in that a seal is disposed in the groove, a portion of the edge of the axial cavity in which the elastically deformable leg is housed at least partially being in contact with the seal in the mounted state of the tip.
[0007] Thanks to the snap-fit coupling of the nozzle and the blade, assembly is quick and easy. Furthermore, the groove in which the seal is positioned ensures good alignment between the edge portion and the seal, and therefore sufficient contact with the seal when the nozzle is mounted, thus ensuring adequate sealing.
[0008] A portion of the axial cavity edge bearing against the seal in the mounted state of the nozzle can be received in the groove in the mounted state of the nozzle. The groove thus receives the seal and forms guiding surfaces for said portion of the axial cavity edge during the mounting of the nozzle onto the blade(s) in order to ensure good contact with the seal.
[0009] The seal can be disposed in the groove over a height of less than 80%, in particular less than 50%, of the height of the groove.
[0010] The seal can be elastically deformed when the tip is mounted on the blades.
[0011] Said portion of the edge of the axial cavity in which the elastically deformable tab is at least partially housed can be in compression with the seal in the mounted state of the tip.
[0012] According to one embodiment of the invention, the leg, or at least one of the legs, preferably each leg, comprises an entry guide configured to deform the leg in a first direction when the tip is mounted on the blade. The first direction may be against an elastic restoring force of the leg.
[0013] According to one embodiment of the invention, the locking member or at least one of the locking members of said at least one lug comprises at least one projecting portion, and the complementary locking member of the blade comprises at least one recessed portion or an opening into which the projecting portion or at least one of the locking members of the blade is able to be inserted in the assembled state. Providing an opening for the complementary locking member of the blade may allow, by pressing on the locking member of the tip through the opening, an elastic deformation of the lug to break the interaction between the locking member of the tip and the complementary locking member of the blade. This break in interaction may allow the blade tip to be removed.
[0014] According to one embodiment of the invention, said at least one leg is positioned outside the closed perimeter defined by the groove.
[0015] Alternatively, said at least one leg is positioned inside the closed perimeter defined by the groove.
[0016] According to one embodiment of the invention, the tip includes a second groove which delimits a second closed perimeter, a second seal is received in the second groove, a portion of the edge of the axial cavity in which the elastically deformable tab is disposed being in contact, particularly in compression, with the second seal in the mounted state of the tip, and said at least one tab is positioned between the closed perimeter of the groove and the second closed perimeter of the second peripheral groove.
[0017] According to one embodiment of the invention, the tip is configured to be removably mounted on said blade.
[0018] According to one embodiment of the invention, said at least one tab is split so as to form two substantially parallel tabs in the disassembled state of the tip, the locking member being carried by one of the tabs. The tab carrying the locking member can be elastically deformed when the tip is mounted on the blade, the other tab retaining its shape during assembly, i.e., it is not substantially deformed during assembly.
[0019] Said tabs can extend in planes substantially perpendicular to the inner face of the tip.
[0020] The gap between the two tabs can extend in a direction substantially parallel to the direction of the throat at the level of the leg.
[0021] According to one embodiment of the invention, said at least one tab comprises one or more ribs extending between the two tabs. The use of one or more ribs can limit the movement of the tab carrying the locking member when mounting the tip onto the blade. This can also increase the force required to elastically deform the tab carrying the locking member to increase the locking force.
[0022] Said at least one leg may comprise one or two veins.
[0023] Each rib can extend longitudinally relative to one of the tabs.
[0024] According to one embodiment of the invention, the rib comprises a first portion, connected to the two tabs, and a second portion, connected to one of the two tabs, an empty space being present between the second portion of the rib and the other of the two tabs.
[0025] According to one embodiment of the invention, the plate constituting the tip is delimited by a peripheral edge and said at least one tab is positioned at the level of said peripheral edge.
[0026] The blade can be alveolar, in particular produced by extrusion.
[0027] The invention also relates to a roller shutter box comprising a top wall, a bottom wall, two walls called front and rear, and two end caps, each end cap being mounted at an axial end of the walls, characterized in that the two end caps and at least part of two of the walls are formed by two sets as defined above. [0036] [Fig.8] is a view similar to [Fig.4] illustrating a variant of the tip.
[0037] In the following description, identical elements or elements with identical functions bear the same reference numeral. For the sake of brevity, they are not described opposite each figure; only the differences between the embodiments are described.
[0038] In the figures, the actual proportions have not always been respected, for the sake of clarity.
[0039] Figures 1 to 4 illustrate an example of an assembly for the manufacture of a roller shutter box according to the invention.
[0040] The assembly includes a blade 1 suitable for delimiting a wall of a roller shutter box, partially illustrated on [Fig.1] in view from below and in view from the front along AA.
[0041] The blade 1 is, for example, made by extruding polyvinyl chloride or aluminum and is cellular. The blade 1 is a part that extends along a longitudinal axis XX'.
[0042] The blade 1 further comprises a cavity 2 delimited by a closed contour edge 3. Uprights 4 inside the cavity 2 connect different portions of the edge 3 in order to ensure sufficient rigidity to the blade 1.
[0043] The cavity 2 can extend along the entire length of the blade 1 along the longitudinal axis XX'. The cavity 2 is accessible, i.e. open, at each of the axial ends 5 of the blade 1.
[0044] The blade 1 is preferably a single piece.
[0045] The assembly also includes an end tip 10, illustrated in [Fig.2], configured to be mounted on the blade 1. The tip 10 is in the form of a plate having an inner face 11 and an opposite outer face 12.
[0046] The tip 10 is configured to be mounted on one of the axial ends 5 of the blade 1. When the tip 10 is mounted on the blade 1, the inner face 11 is turned towards the blade 1. In addition, when the tip 10 is mounted on the blade 1, the inner face 11 extends in a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis XX' of the blade 1.
[0047] The tip 10 is for example made of thermoplastic or aluminium.
[0048] The tip 10 further comprises a groove 15 extending along a contour 16 of the tip 10 so as to form a closed perimeter 17, as illustrated in particular in figures 3 and 4.
[0049] A seal 18, for example made of an elastically deformable material, is disposed in the groove 15. At least on a portion of the groove 15, the seal 18 can be disposed in the groove over a height of less than 80%, in particular less than 50%, of the height of the groove 15.
[0050] The tip 10 also includes a plurality of elastically deformable tabs 20. In this example, the tabs 20 extend perpendicularly on the inner face 11.
[0051] For example, the tip 10 includes four tabs 20 on an upper edge, two tabs 20 on a lateral edge and three tabs 20 on a lower edge.
[0052] In this example, the legs 20 are arranged outside the perimeter 17 formed by the throat 15.
[0053] As particularly illustrated in [Fig.4], legs 20 may be adjacent to the throat 15.
[0054] Each leg 20 is split so as to form two tabs 21 separated from each other extending in parallel planes when the tip 10 is not mounted on the blade 1.
[0055] Ribs 22, for example two ribs 22, can extend into the space formed between the two tabs 21. The ribs 22 can comprise a first portion 23 connected to both tabs 21, and a second portion 24, connected to one of the two tabs 21, an empty space being present between the second portion 24 and the other of the two tabs 21.
[0056] The ribs 22 extending advantageously longitudinally with respect to the tabs 21, that is to say following the direction of the length of said tabs 21.
[0057] One of the two tabs 21, in particular the one towards the inside of the inner face 11, includes a locking member 25, in the form of a protruding relief, disposed at a free end of this tab 21.
[0058] This locking member 25 is configured to cooperate with a complementary locking member 26 of the blade 1 for a snap-fit coupling of the tip 10 and the blade 1.
[0059] The additional locking member 26 is a recess in the edge 3 of the blade 1.
[0060] The locking member 25 may include an input guide 30, the function of which is described later in the description.
[0061] The steps for mounting the tip 10 onto the blade 1 are illustrated in [Fig.5].
[0062] First, the tip 10 is brought close to the blade 1 so that the tabs 10 are aligned with the cavity 2, as illustrated in view a) of [Fig. 5]. The tip 10 is then moved so as to insert the tabs 20 into the cavity 2.
[0063] When the legs 20 are inserted into the cavity 2, as illustrated in view b) of [Fig.5], the tab 21 which carries the locking member 25 will deform elastically in a first direction D thanks to the contact of the entry guide 30 with the edge 3 of the blade 1.
[0064] More specifically, the tab 21 which carries the locking member 25 deforms at the junction between the first portion 23 and the second portion 24 of the rib 22. This junction thus allows the formation of a pivot point of this tab 21 during the assembly of the tip 10.
[0065] In addition, the movement along the first direction D of the tongue 21 is limited in the space present before deformation between the tongue 21 carrying the locking member 25 and the second portion 24 of the rib 22.
[0066] The other tab 21, which does not carry the locking member 25, does not deform when the tab 20 is inserted into the cavity 2.
[0067] The insertion of the tabs 20 of the tip 10 is carried out until the locking members 25 engage with the complementary locking member 26, as illustrated in view c) of [Fig. 5]. This engagement is achieved by means of the elastic return of the tab 21, which is elastically deformed during insertion.
[0068] As illustrated, once the tip 10 is mounted, the tabs 20 fit into the cavity 2 of the blade 1.
[0069] In addition, a portion 31 of the edge 3 of the cavity 2 is positioned in the groove 15 and is in support and compression with the seal 18.
[0070] After assembly, the cooperation between the locking member 25 and the complementary locking member 26 ensures that the tip 10 is held in position on the blade 1.
[0071] As illustrated in Figures 6 and 7, the combination of two assemblies according to the invention can be used for the manufacture of a roller shutter box 40 comprising a top wall 41, a bottom wall 42, two walls referred to as front and rear 43 each extending between the top wall and the bottom wall, and two end caps 10, each end cap 10 being mounted at an axial end 45 of the walls. Each wall is formed by a blade 1.
[0072] The box 40 forms a receiving cavity 46 for the roller shutter.
[0073] On this box 40, the cooperation between the locking members 25 of the tabs 20 of the end caps 10 and additional locking members 26 ensures that the end cap 10 is held in position on the blade 1 and the support between the edges 3 of the blades 1 of the walls and the seals 18 ensures part of the sealing of the receiving cavity 46 of the roller shutter.
[0074] The invention is not limited to the example described above.
[0075] In particular, the tip 10 may include a second groove 50 which delimits a second closed perimeter, a second seal 51 being received in the second groove 50. In this case, a portion of the edge 3 of the cavity 2 in which the tab 20 is disposed may be in contact, possibly in compression, with the second seal 51 in the mounted state of the tip 10.
[0076] The leg 20 is for example positioned between the closed perimeter 17 of the groove 15 and the second closed perimeter of the second groove 50.
