Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: MOTOR VEHICLE WING ARRANGEMENT technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to a reinforcement element for the front wing structure of a motor vehicle. Previous techniques
[0002] The front part of motor vehicles generally comprises a rigid transverse body panel, a bumper connected to this body panel, fenders including upper and lower sections, and mudguards. The front transverse body panel of the vehicle includes a central region for retaining functional components, such as a single grille, which is integral with the vehicle structure.
[0003] The front wings are connected to each other by the single grille, which is formed from a single piece including an opening intended to be traversed by the headlights.
[0004] Each wing comprises a leading edge with a substantially vertical edge adjacent to one of the lateral edges of the single grille, such that the entire height of the single grille's edge is adjacent to the wing's substantially vertical axis edge. Because the leading wings, together with the single grille, define an access opening to the front compartment intended to be closed by a cover, each wing includes a substantially vertical edge with a longitudinal axis at its apex. The connection between the leading edge edges and the upper edge of the wing is made by a curved edge. While the stamping process allows for the direct creation of fastening interfaces in the wing near the leading edge edges and the upper edge of the wing, this is impossible in the area of the curved edge.
[0005] The upper part of the front wing has a curved area with discontinuous folded pieces extending along the front wing. These discontinuous folded pieces are intended to attach the single grille to the front wing. However, the discontinuous folded pieces create a weakness in the front wing.
[0006] Furthermore, the assembly process for the front wing, whose upper section is curved, requires a gap between a lateral portion of the single grille and the upper section of the wing. The folded sections of the wing are covered by the cover. The upper section of the wing, lacking a folded section, reveals all the other supports used for assembling the single grille to the edge of the front wing.
[0007] Consequently, there may be some play between the side part of the single grille and the end of the upper part of the wing. The presence of this play between said parts can vary over time depending on the stresses experienced, which can weaken the rigidity of the vehicle's front wing.
[0008] In addition, in the event of a pedestrian collision or a frontal collision of the vehicle, the deformation of the curved area of the upper part of the wing is increased by the low rigidity of the arrangement of the front part of the vehicle.
[0009] Document CN 218662084U proposes integrating a reinforcement plate covering the entire front wing to increase its rigidity. However, such a reinforcement plate significantly increases the weight of the wing as well as its manufacturing cost.
[0010] The object of the present invention is to provide a reinforcing element that ensures good rigidity of the front part of the vehicle without increasing, or even reducing, the production cost and weight of a front wing. Description of the invention
[0011] In view of the foregoing, the invention relates to an arrangement of a front part of a vehicle comprising at least one wing, a frame extending in a substantially vertical plane and transversely to an extension of the wing, a front shield extending vertically relative to the extension of the wing, in which the wing comprises:
[0012] - a front part of a wing comprising a first substantially vertical edge and a first fixing interface intended to attach the front part of the wing to a lower part of the frame; and
[0013] - a wing apex part comprising a second substantially horizontal edge and perpendicular to the first edge, and a second fixing interface intended to fix the wing apex part to an upper part of the frame;
[0014] The arrangement includes a reinforcement element of shape corresponding to the curved shape connecting the front part to the top part of the wing, in particular by connecting the first edge with the second edge.
[0015] Thus, the dent resistance of the wing structure is improved. The reinforcing element helps avoid repair work due to the significant loads applied to the vehicle's wing assembly.
[0016] In one embodiment, the wing includes a substantially flat lower edge on which the shield is assembled via a third attachment interface.
[0017] Preferably, the frame is a single-gauge structure.
[0018] Advantageously, the frame includes a single opening in which at least one optical block, in particular a single module of the full grille type integrating the right and left optics and / or an illuminated logo and / or at least one other luminous element bordering the upper, lower and lateral edges of the frame, is disposed.
[0019] In one embodiment, the reinforcement element is fixed to the wing apex by means of rivets.
[0020] Preferably, the reinforcement is made by molding a plastic material.
[0021] Advantageously, the reinforcement element is intended to secure the first and second wing attachment interfaces together, so that the rigidity of the arrangement is reinforced.
[0022] In one embodiment, the reinforcement extends in a transverse direction between the wing and the frame in order to fill the assembly gap made visible from outside the vehicle.
[0023] Preferably, the reinforcement element is designed to enable the wing arrangement to resist deformation in the event of an impact.
[0024] The reinforcement element allows for the concealment of internal elements of the vehicle structure.
[0025] The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising an arrangement as defined above. Brief description of the drawings

[0031] Fig. 1 shows a front view of a front portion 1 of a motor vehicle having a pair of front wings 2, a pair of mudguards 3, a frame 4, a front bumper 5 and a headlight assembly 25. The front wing 2 comprises a front wing portion 7 and a wing top portion 8. The frame 4 has a single grille which extends in a substantially vertical plane and transversely to the extension of the wing 2. The bumper 5 extends vertically relative to the extension of the wing 2. Other elements of the vehicle 1 remain conventional and will not be described further.
[0032] With reference to [Fig. 2], which illustrates the upper part of a wing according to the prior art, a gap is present between the frame and the right wing. This gap is due to the manufacturing process of the upper part of the wing 8, which includes a curved area, and has the disadvantage of weakening the structure of the front wing 2. In the prior art, the residual stresses of the apex part of wing 8 include a deviation of 1.86 mm which is greater than the predefined quality criteria (0.15 mm).
[0033] Figure 3 illustrates the front part of the wing 7, comprising a first substantially vertical edge 20. The top part of the wing 7 comprises a second substantially horizontal edge 21, perpendicular to the first edge 20. The second edge 20 is delimited by a lower edge 24 of the front part of the wing 7. The lower edge 24 is adjacent to a lower part of the frame 22.
[0034] The wing apex 7 includes a curved edge between the first edge 20 and the second edge 21. The curved edge is adjacent to an upper part of the frame 23 and is intended to secure the first edge 20 with the second edge 21. However, the reinforcement of these two parts is complicated by the curved area of the wing apex 7.
[0035] A reinforcing element 6 is proposed to connect the first edge 20 with the second edge 21. The reinforcing element 6 has a curved shape corresponding to the shape of the curved edge.
[0036] Fig. 4 is an internal view of the wing apex part 8 including the reinforcement element 6.
[0037] The wing apex part 8 includes a first fixing interface 12 (visible in [Fig.5]) intended to fix the front wing part 7 to the lower part of the frame 22.
[0038] For example, the wing apex part 8 comprises a first edge 13 and a second edge 14. The two edges 13, 14 extend outward from the inner face of the wing apex part 8 and are substantially perpendicular to the plane of the first edge 20.
[0039] The first edge 13 may include a second attachment interface 9 suitable for attaching the wing apex part 8 to the upper part of the frame 23. For example, the wing apex part 8 is attached to a support element connected to the upper part of the frame 23.
[0040] The first edge 13 is located on the end of the first edge 20 upstream of the curvature of the wing apex part 8 and the second edge 14 is located downstream of the curvature of the front part 7 and downstream of the second edge 21 along a longitudinal axis direction going from the front to the rear of the vehicle.
[0041] The first edge 13 may include a first attachment interface 12 (visible in [Fig.5]) for attaching the front wing part 7 to the lower frame part 22. The first edge 13 may also include connection means 18 linking the wing top part 8 and a vehicle cover.
[0042] The two edges 13, 14 comprise a first fastening member 10. The first fastening member 10 may comprise one or more openings. The first fastening member 10 allows cooperation with the reinforcing element 6. As visible in the [Fig.4], the reinforcement element 6 corresponds to the concave shape of the front part 7 of wing 2. Thus, the shape of the reinforcement element 6 makes it possible to further reduce the gap between the front part 7 of wing 2 and the frame 4.
[0043] The reinforcement element 6 also has at least one second wing attachment member 11 corresponding to the first attachment member 10 and is intended to cooperate together.
[0044] The reinforcing element 6 comprises two transverse portions 15, 16 that project beyond the concave body of the reinforcing element 6. For example, each transverse portion 15, 16 of the reinforcing element 6 includes an opening. These two openings are intended to receive rivets in order to cooperate with the reinforcing fastener 10.
[0045] The transverse part 15 extends in a plane perpendicular to the transverse part 16. The transverse part 15 extends substantially in a plane of longitudinal and transverse axes to the vehicle.
[0046] The transverse part 16 extends substantially in a plane of longitudinal and vertical axes to the vehicle.
[0047] In this embodiment, the orifices of the transverse parts 15, 16 correspond to the orifices of the two edges 13, 14, thus allowing the insertion of the rivets and the coupling of the first fixing member 10 to the second fixing member 11.
[0048] When connecting the reinforcement element 6 to the wing 2, the upper part of the reinforcement element 6, comprising the first transverse part 15, is interposed between the first edge 13 and the lateral face of the wing's upper part 8. The lower part of the reinforcement element 6, comprising the second transverse part 16, is interposed between the second edge 14 and the lateral face of the wing's upper part 8.
[0049] When the reinforcement element 6 is mounted on the wing 2, the shape of the reinforcement element 6 follows the concave shape of the curved edge of the wing apex 8, thus forming a continuous piece between the first edge 13 and the second edge 14 of the wing apex 8. This makes it possible to conceal the gap between the front part 7 and the grille 4. The reinforcement element 6 then connects the first edge 20 and the second edge 21 while reinforcing the mechanical rigidity of the wing apex 8 and the wing arrangement in general.
[0050] Fig. 5 illustrates the reinforcement element 6 fixed to the wing 2. As previously stated, the first fixing interface 12 allows the lower part of the frame 22 to be fixed to at least one of the front 7 and top 8 parts of the wing 2. The substantially flat lower edge 24 of wing 2 includes a third fixing interface 19 allowing the wing 2 to be fixed to the shield 5.
[0051] The first, second and third fixing interfaces 12, 9, 19 and the connection means 18 are conventional connection means known to a person skilled in the art.
[0052] The arrangement of the front part of the vehicle as described above advantageously provides better support for the frame 4 on the wing 2, and also improves perceived quality due to the concealment of the assembly gap between the frame 4 and the wing. Even more advantageously, it allows the impact forces to be distributed between the front part 7 and the upper part 8 of the wing, thereby reducing its deformation.
