Abstract

Continuous process for separating salts from biomass under supercritical water conditions. This description relates to a salt separator (100), preferably self-cleaning, for separating salts from a biomass containing them, the salt separator comprising: - a chamber comprising a side wall (101), a lid (102) and a bottom (103), delimiting an inner chamber (105) which can be subjected to a pressure greater than 22.1 MPa, - a precipitation structure (140), in the form of a bed of beads, positioned in the inner chamber (105), on which, when biomass is injected into the inner chamber (105), the salts contained in the solution precipitate on its surface, - a mechanical agitator (120), positioned in the inner chamber (105), capable of moving the beads, so as to detach the salts precipitated on the precipitation structure (140), - heating means (130) configured to heat at least the precipitation structure (140) to a temperature above 374°C.
