Description

Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a resistance training device, in particular a device for resistance training of a human; more particular but not exclusively a device for providing all-body exercises. Background Many people in many societies are increasingly prone to enjoyment of exercise. There are many forms of exercise, which each concentrate on different muscular groups and preferred outcomes. Prior Art US 10 456 615 (ANTHONY) discloses a pneumatic exercise device comprises a resistance base and an ergonomic handle. The resistance base provides resistance to movement of the ergonomic handle. The ergonomic handle is coupled to a shaft projecting from a top of the resistance base. Another end of the shaft is coupled to a piston within an air cylinder inside a housing of the resistance base. A pressure differential of an air caused movement of the piston creates the resistance. An amount of resistance may be changed by sliding a resistance adjustment lever on a side of the housing. The angle of the ergonomic handle is adjustable by pressing a pivot release on the side of the ergonomic handle. The pneumatic exercise device may include an auxiliary platform used to elevate a user's feet during exercise. US 2014 0 148 316 (TSUCHIO et al) discloses a personal resistance exercise device for providing operable motion resistance and static resistance to pulling and pushing motion of a user, comprising: a pneumatic cylinder having a cylinder upper end and a cylinder lower end; said cylinder upper end comprising an aperture therethrough; a foot pad extending outward from said cylinder lower end and having a first and second foot pad surface; a piston member comprising an elongated length, a handled upper end, and a lower piston end; said piston end slidably positioned within said cylinder and said piston member length adapted to be slidably positioned within said aperture of said cylinder upper end; an air valve disposed on said cylinder for allowing air to communicate therefrom and thereinto as said piston end is advanced and retracted, respectively; at least one pair of vertically aligned resistance band attachment means comprising an upper resistance band attachment means disposed on said piston member and a lower resistance band attachment means; said upper resistance band attachment means and said lower resistance band attachment means adapted to support an elastic resistance band between said piston member and said cylinder. GB 0 307 614 (MINOGUE et al) discloses exercise equipment comprising: an elongate hollow member defining a chamber; a reciprocating piston mounted in said chamber to sealably slide from an outwardly extended position to an inwardly retracted position, the piston defining a first volume and a second volume either side of the piston within the chamber; an aperture to allow a restricted efflux of air from one if said volumes as the piston is moved in one direction and a restricted influx of air into said one volume as the piston is moved in the other direction; said movement being resisted by a force due to a pressure differential created across the aperture; and force measuring means located within said chamber. Summary of the Invention According to the present invention there is provided a resistance training device comprising: a pneumatic cylinder; a frame; and a plunger for the cylinder; wherein the cylinder comprises an adjustment means for restriction of airflow; the plunger comprises a plurality of displaceable handles; and the frame comprises a plurality of legs, a handle height variation means, and an articulation means to allow redeployment of the legs in relation to the height of the handle. In this way the device may be adjusted to ensure that the plunger offers a preferred exercise profile for a user. In some embodiments of the device the device comprises receiving saddles for a user’s feet, such that the user may be enabled to pull against their feet, stretching their whole body or just exercising their lower body or upper body. In some embodiments of the device the device comprises feet extending from and located on the legs, which feet may provide the saddles as well as stabilising the device on the ground. In some embodiments of the device the legs are telescopic. In some embodiments of the device the frame allows vertical movement of the cylinder in relation to the legs, for example sliding movement so as to adjust the height of a handle attached to the cylinder. It may be envisaged that the cylinder slides in and out of a tube depending from the collar. In some embodiments of the device the adjustment means enables restriction of airflow into cylinder. In this way a user may control the difficulty of pulling the handles up so as to exercise preferred groups of muscles to a preferred amount. In some embodiments of the device the adjustment means enables restriction of airflow out of cylinder. In this way a user may control the difficulty of pushing the handles down so as to exercise preferred groups of muscles to a preferred amount. In some embodiments of the device the device comprises displaceable handles, which may be extended laterally, or rearranged to a more comfortable angle for use. In some embodiments of the device for example the handles comprise a folding hinge, so as to allow the handles to be angled. In some such embodiments of the device the device comprises a locking means for the hinge, which may be envisaged to comprise a grub screw or the like, so as to ensure that the handles do not move in use and jeopardise the exercises. In some embodiments of the device the device comprises a rotatable handle unit, which may be envisaged to be wholly displaceable. For example this unit may be envisaged to be attached to the top of the device in use, so as to provide a gripping means that can rotate, for example around a vertical axis provided by the device. Rotation thereby allows the user to grip the gripping means, handle or handgrip from a plurality of attack angles. This may enable single-handed exercise movements, so as to allow the user to exercise still further muscle groups. A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example only 5 and with reference to the Figures in which: Brief Description of Figures 10 Figure 1 shows an isometric view of an embodiment of the device according to the present invention; Figure 2 shows a reverse isometric view of the embodiment of the device shown in Figure 1; 15 Figure 3 shows an isometric view of the embodiment of the device shown in Figure 1, in a different position; Figure 4 shows a reverse isometric view of the embodiment of the device as shown in 20 Figure 3; Figure 5 shows an isometric exploded view of the embodiment of the device shown in Figure 1; 25 And Figure 6 shows a reverse exploded isometric view of the embodiment of the device shown in Figure 1. 30 Detailed Description of Figures With reference to the figures there is shown an embodiment of a resistance training device 99 generally comprising: a pneumatic cylinder 21; a frame 12; and a plunger 23 for the cylinder; wherein the cylinder comprises an adjustment means 10 for restriction 35 of airflow; the plunger comprises a plurality of displaceable handles 8,3; and the frame comprises a plurality of legs 13, a handle height variation means 22, and an articulation means 15,20 to allow redeployment of the legs in relation to the height of the handle. In particular reference to the pictured embodiment the embodiment comprises an elongated central pump 23 in a pneumatic cylinder 21, which moves vertically in a frame provided by an annular collar 12 which surrounds the cylindrical pump and slides along it, when released by opening a lever 22. The collar provides three hinges 15, equally spaced around the collar and providing part of the articulation means for three legs 13. The collar includes an over-the-centre lever locking mechanism to lock sliding of the pump in the collar, and unlock so as to allow the pump to be located at an appropriate height for exercise. The legs comprise elongated coaxially telescopic members, connected at sliding rings 14. The sliding rings include over-the-centre levers to provide a friction locking mechanism to prevent coaxial sliding of the members. At the distal ends of the legs from the hinges there are feet 19, which feet are connected to the leg members by pivots 20, which provide a further part of the articulation means. The feet are provided by ground engaging plates 18, having bands which travel over the user’s foot, such that the user will stand on the plate and have the band 17 providing a stirrup. In this way the user may be enabled to stand on the device so as to prevent the movement of the frame, and move the pump and up and down in the frame, to allow for a preferred arrangement for exercise purposes. The distal end of the pump, from the feet, comprises a handle to allow the user to effectively exercise wherein the handle may be positioned at rest at a convenient height by moving the cylinder in the collar, and subsequently lifted up and pushed down during exercise. The handle is provided by two laterally extending arms, with distal handgrips 8. The handgrips are provided by resiliently deformable material such as rubber or silicone overmoulds. The arms comprise pivoting elbows 7 for the handgrips, to allow for transport or storage of the device. The arms extend outwards from a central boss 11, which boss provides two valves 10 to control the amount of ingress and egress of air into the pump, so as to adjust difficulty of the exercise of moving the pump. The pump plunger depends from this boss, and above the boss the embodiment comprises a base 5 for a wholly displaceable secondary handle 1. This secondary handle comprises a circular perimeter 2 and internal grip 3. The grip 3 is connected to an internal annular holder 62, which is enabled to spin in the perimeter so as to provide a variance of the angle of the grip. The secondary handle is envisaged to be screwed to the boss using a camera mounting thread 69. With reference to the embodiment as exploded in Figure 5, the following parts are visible: Displaceable secondary handle 1, comprising: Screw fixings 67 Bolt / axle 61 Outer bearing racer 2 with connecting disc mount 4 Mounting thread 89 Inner racer 62 Flanged bearing 63 Handle 3 with handle grip 64 Ball bearings 65 Bearing retainer 66 Nuts 68 The embodiment further comprises a head comprising a head upper 5 and a head lower part 11, which lower part supports the handles and which head upper 5 provides two ball valves 78, each controlled by an indexing dial 10, and internally comprising a nut retainer and nut. Extending laterally from the lower head part are two handles provided by a stainless steel cylindrical telescopic tube 88 and telescopic tube connectors 9. The tube is connected at a hinge 7 to a further tube 88, with a silicone handgrip 8. The hinge 7 is locked with a thumb dial when at a desired angle, and the telescoping tube connectors are twisted to tighten. Below the head lower part there is a pump tube cap 50, a nitrile rubber O ring 49 and O ring retainer 48. This forms the top of the pump, which is provided by a piston rod 47, piston 46, O ring 45, pump tube 21, pump blanking cap 44, all travelling in a tube 33 with an end cap 34, which tube 33 is secured to the frame at an annular leg mounting bracket 12 with an over-centre clip arm 22 clamping down a clip 41 over an annular rubber pad 43 to secure the correct height.
