Abstract
A powder dispenser including a funnel 112 for dispensing a dose of a powder through an outlet 116, a vibrator 128 arranged to vibrate the funnel to assist with the flow of powder towards the outlet, and an actuator 118 arranged to selectively seal and unseal the outlet. The outlet is defined by a boundary between an outer surface of the funnel and an inner surface of the funnel. A weighing system including a load cell 126 arranged to weigh a dose of powder that has been dispensed through the outlet, a processor arranged to be programmed with a target weight, where the processor is arranged to compare the weight of the dispensed powder with the target weight, and where the comparison from the processor is arranged to feed back to the powder dispenser and thereby adjust the flow rate through the outlet.
