Fast electric switching relay

Abstract

An electric switching relay 1 comprises a housing or frame 2, a first fixed switching contact 3a fixedly arranged in the housing or on the frame 2, a contact carrier 5 rotating in the housing or on the frame around axis B, and a drive piece 6 rotatable in the housing or on the frame around the axis B and connected to the carrier by an elastically twistable connector 7. An electromagnetic drive 8 is fixed in the housing or on the frame and causes rotation of the piece 6 around the axis B in a rotational direction C which also rotates the carrier 5. A first movable switching contact 9a is located on the carrier 5 presses onto the contact 3a upon the rotation, and the connector 7 is elastically twisted and biased such that the carrier 5 is forced in the rotational direction relative to the piece 6 in a first state where the contact 9a is lifted off the contact 3a. First and second stops may be fixedly mounted to the carrier or drive piece to inhibit rotation of the carrier and an elastic twist of the connector respectively.
