Abstract

A mixing vessel 101, possibly as part of a forced action mixer (1001, Fig 10) is used to prepare curable compositions containing polyurethane resin, such as in surfacing driveways or playgrounds. Vessel 101 is mountable to a mixing means (1003) and support frame (401, Fig 5) and comprises a cylindrical drum with walls 102 and base 202 with circumferential reinforcing straps 104 therearound, defining an open upper end and a lower closed end. The lower closed end may comprise delivery assembly 105 having openable delivery chute 106. Rotatable mixer blade arrangements (301, Fig 3a) are positioned within drum 10. To assist in removal of unused and cured polyurethane resins, the mixing vessel 101 comprises a low surface energy material of less than 100mN.m, such as a polyolefin polymer, polypropylene and / or high-density polyethylene or other substantially non-polar molecular polymer structures. Such materials may be recycled or virgin products. Vessel 101 may be surrounded by a sleeve means made of such low surface energy material. When used on the interior of vessel 101, the low surface energy materials may be provided in layers of distinguishable colours, utilised to indicate drum wear. Fig 1
