A modular solar canopy structure

Abstract

A modular solar canopy structure 10 comprises a foundation member 14 for burying in the ground. The foundation member 14 comprises an elongate steel beam 24, a column 26 mounted substantially at the centre of the steel beam 24, the column terminating in a connection arrangement 28 for fastening to a column extension member 16, the elongate steel beam 24 being encased in concrete with the column 26 extending through a side of the concrete and connection arrangement disposed to one side of the concrete. A column extension is mounted to the column and carries one or two arms, forming a support structure for supporting solar panels. Adjacent support structures may be connected by a U-shaped beam which serves as a rain water gutter. See Figure 1
