Abstract

A vacuum cleaner is comprises a suction motor for moving an incoming airflow from an air inlet to an air outlet, a primary dirt separator 210 for separating dirt from the incoming airflow, and a bin assembly for collecting the dirt separated from the incoming airflow. The bin assembly comprises a bin body surrounding the primary dirt separator and a nozzle defining a nozzle axis, wherein the primary dirt separator comprises a core (202, fig 25) having a first portion 228 that is generally U-shaped in cross-section and second and third portions 219, 220 are planar and disposed on opposing sides of the first portion.
