Abstract

A garment sorting apparatus 1 comprises a conveyor 3 configured to convey garments 2 along a path; at least one of an imaging station 4 and an analyser station 5, wherein the imaging station 4 is configured to capture images of the garments 2 as they are conveyed along said path, and the analyser station 5 is configured to capture spectral data of garments 2 as they are conveyed along said path; a data processor 6 configured to receive image data from said imaging station 4 and spectral data from said analyser station 5, and configured to classify and / or identify garments 2 according to the received image data and spectral data; and a sorting device 7 configured to separate garments 2 on the conveyor 3 in response to classification and / or identification data received from the data processor 6.
